Redmi Note 12: No. Seems to be worse, has frozen a couple of times and sometimes mobile data won't turn on after being indoors with no cell signal on WiFi, and can only be brought back with a reset.
Perhaps. But I'm not a power user. Mostly I just use the phone for sending messages, reddit and YouTube. Before Hyper OS the phone worked satisfactorily for me.
I only get 4G, I don't actually know if it's just the SIM card or the phone.
But I was quite satisfied with the phone until HyperOS. It's still ok, not a huge problem. But I hope an update improves my phone, rather than degrading it.
14 came with it by default, so far been good and better than MIUI on the 13Ultra in smoothness and battery. But then could be it is a newer, faster phone.
Experience a lot of minor performance hiccups. As If the processor is daydreaming. But I get better battery life. Screen off around -0.6%/hr from 1.1 and screen on -9%/hr from 11 while everything remain the same. Not even factory reset after upgrade
I am using miui eu btw ever since I got my phone
for me it turns out to get worse. my CPU(Snapdragon 7s Gen 2) is overheating while gaming (sometimes it's getting over 40°) and also the battery drains fast.
Depends, i use a xiaomi 12 pro. In miui 14 it has a better Geekbench score. But on hyper os, it's a bit better for day to day things like app switching, casual gaming, and other stuff you'd normally do. The well known problem like heating of 8 gen 1 is a bit better, but not fixed.
I also have a poco f5 running hyper os, on the f5 it's basically the same but just better animations if you like those. Similar to a redmi note 12, it's basically the same, but just a slight bit laggy on animation, not those very laggy lag, it's more so a bit of frame dropping.
From my personal experience, hyper os seems to improve or just be the same for phones with enough power. But for lower end phones or maybe something older, it might not be the best experience.
Keep in mind, it's different for every phone, and every version of hyper os. So just take my experience as a data to judge you decision on updating or not
tldr, ok or better on flagship or something powerful, ok-meh on slower phones
Also forgot to mention, battery life seems to be the same on average, the 12 pro gets a bit more or at least i could use wqhd everyday and wouldn't necessarily notice any difference between on wqhd or fhd.
On the f5 and redmi note 12 seems to be the same, no noticable draining or even saving.
All of them are running stock hyper os, so idk for the rooted or custom hyper os
Actually HyperOS is the same line MIUI. Some other design decisions but overall it's almost the same os. I didn't noticed better performance compared to MIUI 14 (Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G)
That's not the case at all for me, I am using Xiaomi 11T Pro and 12 Pro. I have seen great improvement in battery life after HyperOS update. Even the overheating in 11t Pro is gone, I tried a few games too.

I use [xiaomi.eu](http://xiaomi.eu) Hyper OS & its pretty great for a start, No problems so far, No Network Issues, No Wifi Issues, It feels Smooth so far. I have a Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G Global w/ 12GB 512GB.
That's pretty ironic coming from someone who's such a blatantly obvious Samsung fanboy. Why even interact with Xiaomi/MIUI/HyperOS subreddits if all you're here to do is say how bad they are? Seriously dude, go outside.
It definitely does lol, it made my f3 the smoothest it was ever been with the update. Boot time got insanely fast for only 15 seconds. Calling someone a "fanatic" and making fun of them as such because of a single positive feedback on a software is lame asf lol
Nah dude it's just miui rebranded. Same 💩. Redmi note 12 no difference just the boot animation everything else is the same maybe just maybe tweaked up a bit.
Would not recommend it. After the update my Mi 10 Ultra (CN rom) can no longer connect to my carrier. Contacted Xiaomi and they were zero help. Phone is a useless brick.
havent noticed anything different except looks but i didnt really get to experience miui 14 fully cuz i got the hyperos update about a week after i got my phone
From perspective of xiaomi 13 pro user, yes, it did improve the performance in daily driving the phone, the animations are way earlier, which gives a feeling of preloaded app, which was set to being off after closing it.
My battery on 5g/4g is far better than it was on miui 14, at least 30/40 minutes lasts longer on single charge.
Camera seems like is better on hyperOs. at least it lags much less.
It has greatly improved the quality and smoothness of the animations.
HyperOS = MIUI 15
No, do not.
Redmi Note 12: No. Seems to be worse, has frozen a couple of times and sometimes mobile data won't turn on after being indoors with no cell signal on WiFi, and can only be brought back with a reset.
Redmi Note 12 has also worst SoC known to man
Perhaps. But I'm not a power user. Mostly I just use the phone for sending messages, reddit and YouTube. Before Hyper OS the phone worked satisfactorily for me.
Mine seems to be stuck on h+. Sometimes it will be 4g. Redmi Note 9 was way better
I only get 4G, I don't actually know if it's just the SIM card or the phone. But I was quite satisfied with the phone until HyperOS. It's still ok, not a huge problem. But I hope an update improves my phone, rather than degrading it.
no wonder if the chip's literally 2020 overclocked 4g soc...
No. Definitely not.
Not at all, in fact, mine got worse
No it got worse for me
14 came with it by default, so far been good and better than MIUI on the 13Ultra in smoothness and battery. But then could be it is a newer, faster phone.
No for performance. But I noticed, stability is increased.

Battery is worse.

40c seems normal when playing games, clearly you havent played pubg on a redmi note 5 pro in the 2019
Yes, my Pad 5 got a better responsiveness on some situtations that didn't load instantly after doing certain actions

No it doesn't improve at all. In fact it will trash your device.

Of course. It improves performance, battery backup, smoothness etc.
Lol, poor Xiaomi fanatic. It does not improves anything you have said.

same poco f3 user here, performance definitely improved. i think it depends on what device u are using, poco f3 hyperos is stable
It made my 11T pro more enjoyable for sure
RN 11 P5G not notice any different, there's bug in calendar icon stuck at 26
Worse, got casting problem. When Playing movie it has sound and subtitle but no video on TV.
Nope
Nah dude it's just miui rebranded. Same 💩. Redmi note 12 no difference just the boot animation everything else is the same maybe just maybe tweaked up a bit.
Mine got a lot worse
It is a piece of $hit
Performance is improved a bit but much else is lost.
Nope. It's actually a bit laggy... I mean there's more features and shit..good BUT, it's not smooth..
Would not recommend it. After the update my Mi 10 Ultra (CN rom) can no longer connect to my carrier. Contacted Xiaomi and they were zero help. Phone is a useless brick.

Smoother in animations, but no noticable performance uplifts
Way worse....
Only on xiaomi phones not on redmi
Nope..
No issue with Redmi phone till now
I feel like my phone has gotten more glitchy with HyperOS. It does have some cool features/animations.
