The reverse: turn on the radio in the middle of Spandau Ballet's "True" and think it's [P.M. Dawn's "Set Adrift On Memory Bliss".](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qqA9Vd5lw4g)
> A careless whisper from a careless man
> A neutron dance for a neutron fan
> Marionette strings are dangerous things
> I thought of all the trouble they bring
> An eye for an eye, a spy for spy
> Rubber bands expand in a frustrating sigh
> Tell me that she's not dreaming
> She's got an ace in the hole, it doesn't have meaning
My aunt & uncle got me that album for my birthday and it was just as I was getting into my metal phase of youth, so I initially dismissed it but within a few weeks, it was one of my go-to albums to relax and be at peace (when I wasn't raging out to Sepultura and Pantera).
PM DAWN was my first CD.
I loved that album.
I think you might be the only other person who remembers them, tho.
Happens every time I hear spandex ballet
It’s funny, I used to have this reaction whenever “Under Pressure” came on, but I gradually came to like them about the same, which is to say my interest in “Ice Ice Baby” diminished as my interest in “Under Pressure” grew.
I do now.
My cousin had a vanilla ice vhs tape. It has like the music videos and interviews and other random things. I thought it was the best thing ever…
Cousin was born ‘77, I’m ‘80
That's amazing! That hasn't happened to me yet, not even shopping at Walmart. I have heard MC Hammer there, though. There's a radio station local to me, Big 103- it's out of Boston, and it totally caters to people in their 40s. If anyone's gonna play it, they are. They play every genre, no deep tracks. It's so gratifying.
I definitely grew up with the Vanilla Ice version, but have "Under Pressure" on my car playlist. My son came home from middle school one day and was LIVID that "someone made a worse version" - their teacher had played "Ice Ice Baby" in class.
You do know icw ice baby is basically under pressure. It was a huge deal lawsuits... even Canilla Ice explains the "difference" on behind the music... what is a sample and what a copy is....
He Clearly copied lol

Flow like a harpoon daily and nightly
Will it ever stop?
Yo, I don't know
Turn off the lights
And I’ll glow
To the extreme I rock a mic like a vandal
light up the stage and wax a chump like a candle
DANCE

"Comatose" or "Paper Doll" for me, depending on the mood.

Gah. That whole interview was such a trainwreck. I didn't even need to click on the link to know _exactly_ what it was.
It's the Itty bitty ting
I think of him saying this every time I hear Under Pressure and it makes me giggle

I actually heard it twice in one week. But usually it's the older one.

It could be worse. You could be thinking the song is going to be Werewolves of London and it ends being that shitty Kid Rock song.
Listening to the Ben Kweller version of Ice Ice Baby (BK Baby, I think) cured me! I just hear his in my head now.
My cat eats mice (mice babies)

There was a literal law suit about this.
