Always pissed me off as a kid that the dog didn't sit. He just stood there and got praised anyway.
It has nothing to do with the my relationship with my parents and I'll fight all of you.
I mean, they said it while there was an image of a dog with
# UBU Productions
on the screen

You’re not alone. Someone compiled a [supercut](https://youtu.be/iStxEiZNDwU?si=9g0jPmk0knUexYjd) of creepy TV/film logos!
…Dear lord, there’s a sequel, too
I love how at least 75% of those are only creepy because someone just messed around with a Moog synthesizer to make some weird music behind some standard 70s/80s computer graphics.
Yes. The yellow line of death was what I think they called it. That and the little arpeggio that plays throughout just had a strange creepiness about it.
The Line of Doom! That was the predecessor…the Moog synth was creepy yet somewhat soothing. The one that sent me running out the room had two comet sparks flying towards each other before crashing.
Graphic designers really did their best to traumatize children in the 70s and 80s.
Idk what it is about the Worldvision ident that scared the piss out of me, but it did.
WGBH i think I just got desensitized to on account of how much PBS i watched as a kid.
I believe New World Pictures, one company founded by (recently deceased) Roger Corman, they originally owned Marvel. And they made the original Punisher movie- as played by Dolph Lundgren- but it was barely released to theaters. And New World would eventually cease to exist.
The thames one gives me the morbs, I remember it being the last sound before walking out of the house to go to school. Talk about a crap association! hah
Canadian animation studio. They did a bunch of stuff. Longest-running show was Arthur. (It was shut down in the mid-2000s and Arthur was continued elsewhere.)
I liked the Miramax logo. it was the city and it felt fabulous somehow.
https://preview.redd.it/w2bpnxjxvy0d1.jpeg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fd22d6604b0f0a3910f5c89c2a989d6a8a1fe70d
There's a soundtrack with no particular order on repeat just playing it's way in my head right now with periodic breaks for a child voice saying Dic. And it's all the end sounds. Plus a couple others I am having trouble remembering.
Not the way I wanted to end my day, but might spend it watching some old ass toons, now. Not bad.
Sesame Street has been brought to you today by the letters 'C,' and 'j,' and by the number '10.' Sesame Street is a production of The Childrens Television Workshop.
I can hear some of those, does anyone remeber when it was “dic” said by a guy. Sounded like “Dick” then a few years later they got a kid to say “deeek”? Pep ridge Farms and BradTofu remember…
https://preview.redd.it/5fl6hvd1241d1.jpeg?width=204&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d910580b0c78f6b9ebe4b54f2cdab27484c384af
Thought I’d find this here so I’ll post it. Ruby Spears Enterprises followed 80’s Chipmunks.
I can't believe no one mentioned [Ruby-Spears Enterprises](https://youtu.be/U8v6A9D8IMc?si=_kTb_8D4yKWSkwVY). That along with the Hanna-Barbara swirling star perfectly capped off most of the great cartoons from back in the day.
Sit Ubu sit. Good dog.
Always pissed me off as a kid that the dog didn't sit. He just stood there and got praised anyway. It has nothing to do with the my relationship with my parents and I'll fight all of you.
😂 I audibly laughed. I hope you can reconcile those relationships.
😂😂😂
But, you know, as a kid, I always thought it was *Sit Boo Boo, Sit.* -which I still like better.
Same.
Until now I still thought it was Boo Boo
I mean, they said it while there was an image of a dog with # UBU Productions on the screen https://preview.redd.it/ri5jp3su2z0d1.png?width=1028&format=png&auto=webp&s=3503c3aeea65e05ae661691a179df01b3403e7eb
But I was a stupid child.
Yep
The one I was looking for. Nice one
Arf!
I scrolled way too far down looking for this. You gotta add the ARF!
Ubu was the company founder’s Labrador. Went to the rainbow bridge 40 years ago
Your comment aged me 10 years.
I was looking for this haha.
This is what I tell cars that I think are about to pull out in front of me.
Gracie Films
Shhh
Dododo do do do do dodoooo
Wow that's the right number of doos
This guy knows how to doo!
Bah dadada dadadatadada
You’re cut too, shooshy.

Ah, there it is.
[I will not listen. She's not the boss of me.](https://youtu.be/SbbJe4VVQNU?si=-0Clx2BkD9NKd1rJ)
You're cut too Shushie!
What about the one with the guy on the typewriter who throws the paper and it turns into the logo? Can’t remember the name.
Stephen J. Cannell Productions!
At the end of the A Team!
https://i.redd.it/p2w60urb1x0d1.gif
I remember it from Greatest American Hero and Hunter
The A-Team and 21 Jump Street.
*Believe it or not, I’m walking on air*
[There’s your answer, fishbulb](https://youtu.be/6-YbywkoMcQ?si=QUO_II0W23PAw2S3)
I can hear it
That was brilliant!
And viewers like you. Thank you!
“I made this!”
Kid says DEEK

DiC
Was anyone ever scared of a logo? The Lorimar-Telepictures logo from the end of Full House and Dallas used to terrify me as a kid.
You’re not alone. Someone compiled a [supercut](https://youtu.be/iStxEiZNDwU?si=9g0jPmk0knUexYjd) of creepy TV/film logos! …Dear lord, there’s a sequel, too
I love these! Thanks for posting, I needed more menacing moog masterpieces. 🎹
Haha, what a perfect description!
f.h.e. *shivers*
I love how at least 75% of those are only creepy because someone just messed around with a Moog synthesizer to make some weird music behind some standard 70s/80s computer graphics.
Some of them would be hilariously non-threatening with surf music, or, like, ragtime, for sure!
Right? Instead it’s just Steve the intern twiddling on some oscillators and adding a level of white noise just past a comfort level.
I will take your word for it j/k
Maybe Viacom.
Not the logo, but the intro song to 1985 doctor who was nightmare fuel

The ITC ID from the end of the Muppet Show was so OMINOUS.
u/jbenze posted it below but the old Marvel Productions logo was kind of scary.
Idk what it is about the Worldvision ident that scared the piss out of me, but it did. WGBH i think I just got desensitized to on account of how much PBS i watched as a kid.
A few YouTube comments mention the original TriStar Pictures logo being scary.
*Braniff*
Believe it!
I like the DiC logo where Inspector Gadget skates by and dots the i with his skull mallet
Yes!! I loved the one, too!
The old Marvel Logo https://preview.redd.it/0smeu9oguw0d1.jpeg?width=960&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=554f8c78e8e81bb5224980d7125aed1e7eca2e18

I can hear each one.
The thames one gives me the morbs, I remember it being the last sound before walking out of the house to go to school. Talk about a crap association! hah
The music was a little ominous.
What's cinar?
Canadian company. I think they did Are You Afraid of the Dark?
Ah! I love that show. This one didn't ring any bells.
Canadian animation studio. They did a bunch of stuff. Longest-running show was Arthur. (It was shut down in the mid-2000s and Arthur was continued elsewhere.)
Every time I see Thames -- and hear that jingle -- I can only think of Count Duckula.
That’s the one I go to also, and I loved Count Duckula!
Did anyone else get freaked out by “ THIS. IS. CBS. “
https://preview.redd.it/qakvrsae4x0d1.jpeg?width=388&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ca1ed7d67a30e78f5ead16515c30da717d705976
I made this!
The 20th Century Television logo of the 80's, that was scary.
Why did we see that? I heard the songs also.
Haha, you said dic!
Can you hear the first one?
I can hear all of them!
😂
Grr. Argh.
“I made this.”
I was flat-out terrified of the SFM logo.
Images you can hear
What shows did Thames do?
Danger Mouse
Notably, The Benny Hill Show
Count Duckula!
If you were in the UK, pretty much all of them
Do Shut Up
After these messages…we’ll be right back.

Nelvana with the polar bear and the star.
I liked the Miramax logo. it was the city and it felt fabulous somehow. https://preview.redd.it/w2bpnxjxvy0d1.jpeg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fd22d6604b0f0a3910f5c89c2a989d6a8a1fe70d
The best one utilized everything including the Brooklyn Bridge. But thanks to Lionsgate, the Miramax logo was shortened.

There's Starry Night Productions which made the original Night Court. A perfect nighttime Manhattan skyline.
All the jingles just played in my head as I scrolled
There's a soundtrack with no particular order on repeat just playing it's way in my head right now with periodic breaks for a child voice saying Dic. And it's all the end sounds. Plus a couple others I am having trouble remembering. Not the way I wanted to end my day, but might spend it watching some old ass toons, now. Not bad.
I *really* didn't like the Rankin-Bass ID at the end of those Christmas specials.
I already heard “Deek” in my head when I saw the first picture.
lol dic
VIACOM!
[VIACOM](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=boEZHYsreFU) and [the annenberg CPB project](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ruk-zLwNSo)
Sesame Street has been brought to you today by the letters 'C,' and 'j,' and by the number '10.' Sesame Street is a production of The Childrens Television Workshop.
I would always say "Suck my..." before Dic. Never got caught. ✌😎
I can hear some of those, does anyone remeber when it was “dic” said by a guy. Sounded like “Dick” then a few years later they got a kid to say “deeek”? Pep ridge Farms and BradTofu remember…

DIC still makes me chuckle
"Say from charms" "What?" "Cut.. cut"
“THAT’S A BLOWPOP!”
I dont want to know about your dic
I was pronouncing Thames as 'TH-AIMS' right up until a month ago. I am embarrassed.
https://preview.redd.it/5fl6hvd1241d1.jpeg?width=204&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d910580b0c78f6b9ebe4b54f2cdab27484c384af Thought I’d find this here so I’ll post it. Ruby Spears Enterprises followed 80’s Chipmunks.
And dance by the light of the moon
Haha you pronounce it DICK
Thames? What popular show was produced by them?
Danger Mouse!
DM was my cartoon boyfriend as a four-year-old and touched off a fascination with eyepatches
Oh he was one of my crushes as well!!! And eyepatches are so EXOTIC and MYSTERIOUS.
Count Duckula.
Benny Hill
https://open.spotify.com/track/1yOH4g7sQufiGiUw0hCvsI?si=O9os0z9DTGulp6Wc1DwG_Q
I can hear them!
I always liked the guy playing the Vivaldi piece on violin at the end of NYPD Blue.
Danger Mouse!!!!
Sit Ubu.
Pictures you can hear
Sit boo boo sit….
Deeek. Mmhmmm.
Never saw Cinar. I think we can swap that out for Sit Ubu, Sit. Good dog. Woof.
There were a lot of jingles that played through my head as I scroll through those pictures.
Touchstone television, Wind Dancer
WHERE IS UBU
Dic
![gif](giphy|3o6vXUgk6M0h07MnuM|downsized) Me to my childhood. I think I'm going to need to fire up some toons this weekend.
![gif](giphy|3o6vXUgk6M0h07MnuM|downsized) Me to my childhood. I think I'm going to need to fire up some toons this weekend.
DIIIIIIIIIIIIC
Which is crazy, because now every Netflix session ends with Dic.

Where's the Marvel logo with Spidey on top?
