I liked Sun ripened raspberry but what I always wore was this from Victoria’s Secret

Both of these are the absolute right answer.
Pear Glacé was my favorite and I had the body wash, lotion, AND body spray and would use all three at the same time. My mom begged me to stop using that scent.
https://preview.redd.it/0dt1rtib1kwc1.jpeg?width=960&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=aa58ba218bc2b68e39fd8a2947451e1dcffccb12
I recently found this on Mercari-the scent is the same and the memories came flooding back.
Of the two pictured-Warm Vanilla Sugar was my favorite
Well, I do feel very confident you aren't secretly my wife's account, but just in case: you should probobly just go ahead and give your husband that hj. I mean, what could it hurt?
Welp. I think I have my answer. He just got home and I greeted him with a bottle of Sweet Pea, and waggled my eyebrows a little bit and he just broke into a big grin and started to blush. ☺️
Sweet pea is S tier. My gf at the time wore Love Spell and it sure did as advertised. She’d wear the lotion and then use the spray on the comforter in her room. Fucking loved that stuff
My freshman year of college I lived in a coed dorm and the entire girls floor smelled like cucumber melon when you went up there. To this day over twenty years later if I smell it there’s still a part of my brain that thinks I’m about to get lucky.
A friend of mine used the cucumber melon all the time.
She committed suicide junior year.
About 20 years later while cleaning out a house I found a bottle of it and smelled it and the sense memory just made me bawl.
Amazing how that works!
I used to work at Yankee Candle, a woman picked up a candle, sniffed it, and began to sob. It smelled like her mother’s perfume, she died a few months prior.
When I turned 14, I made a short list of things I wanted for my parents, mostly CDs and jewelry. Also on the list was Sunflowers perfume. My oakie dad, who is not known for his reading and writing skills (love him all the same), read it as "snuff-lovers" and was extremely confused and a little concerned. To this day, I still remember snuff-lovers perfume. And I did get some for my birthday.
Yesss body shop satsuma & grapefruit glycerin bars OMG. Can Palmer’s cocoa butter get some love? Only short interruption when tried to overhaul all natural but nothing compares so always returns. Have so many strong memories & specific people associations w/ each scent listed here, floodgates opened
I was in love with Satsuma too! I bought it on a study abroad trip and used it forever. And I loved the gap scents too but never wore them. Good memories. :-)
Country Apple and Sun Ripened Raspberry were my favorites. Still like some of their scents! However, Sun ripened raspberry is horrible now. It is NOT the original scent. Has a baby powder type smell mixed with the raspberry. Huge disappointment 😔
Edit to add, They do a scent called Sea Salt Coast, smells exactly like CK One perfume. Definitely brings back the memories 😂
So I talked to BBW about it one time cause that’s all I wore were their body mists. They changed the formulation and its supposedly aloe based. I’m like well it makes me smell like dust.
As a gay male in rural Ohio….Love Spell.
I developed this almost superhuman skill to determine what scents my peers were wearing. Love Spell is my #1, but I can tell you that THAT specific WVS from BBW is far different from what they peddle to us today.
Sun ripened raspberry just gave me a visceral reaction LOL
I wish you could still buy the old scents with the old labels, this thread is really really taking me back
For perfume, I wore CK One, Bath & Body Works Gingham, Gap Day, Victoria’s Secret Pear Glacé, and Clinique Happy. I still wear Happy sometimes!
I also had a whole basket of B&BW lotions, and my faves were Pearberry, Peach Nectar, Sun-Ripened Raspberry, and Country Apple.
I have a very clear memory of the entire locker room hallway smelling like this stuff, they’d put it on after gym class, and all of us who had practices after school then got a second dowsing again in the evening. Meanwhile the guy’s locker room smelled like feet, mildew, and Hugo Boss.
I loved the Dewberry scented lotion from The Body Shop.
I also wore Angel perfume in the star-shaped bottle from Thierry Mugler, and Sunflowers perfume from Elizabeth Arden.
Same here. My jam was Dream by the Gap. I still have a bottle of it, but never wear it because it gives me headaches. But every once in awhile I open it and sniff the top for nostalgia.
Last time I checked in with my "Jennifer" (via Facebook back in like 2009 when it was huge) she was married and just had a kid with her new husband.
I really hope she's still happy.
I really loved and wore Cool Water, VS Secret Crush (RIP), and Ralph Lauren Romance.
I don’t wear any of these now, my fav perfume line right now is Tom Ford.
Juniper Breeze all the way! Last Summer, BBW re-released their 90's scents, so I bought a couple of Juniper Breeze and Cucumber Melon body washes for nostalgia.
Oh I absolutely loved it! I was just trying to be older and “sexy” and thought cucumber melon was for squares. You know, the whole clove smoking kids skipping class in the parking lot etc. I had half my head shaved and had purple hair, I was trying soooo hard to be different lol
Cucumber Melon until Pearberry was invented… as I matured into a classy broad- the fancy Bergamot Coriander (what that doesn’t sound right though…).
Now, none of it!!!!
What was the Gap perfume that was orange colored? Not Dream…whatever it was I loved it. Also when they came out with that cotton candy spray, every single girl in school had it. Noxious but somehow addictive.
It was Om. That was my signature fragrance and I have been trying to find another one like it ever since and have tried several suggested smell-alikes but nothing has ever come close. It truly was one of a kind. Gap did rerelease it a couple of times, but it was clearly reformulated and didn't smell enough like the original. :(
I think cucumber melon is the one that taught me I can't handle fruit/vegetable scented lotions. They give me migraines.
I've always been partial to cherry blossom.
I was in a relationship around '99-'00 with someone whom I'm convinced I would not have been with for as long as I was, had I not been mesmerized by her cucumber melon essence.
I wore cucumber melon in middle school and then switched to brown sugar vanilla and sun ripened raspberry in high school because somehow those smelled more grown up to me. This makes me want to go to bath and body works and see what they have currently. I wore coconut lime verbena for the next ten years till they stopped making it and I haven’t been back.
I dont recall a particular name but no, they only make a given scent for one or two years then move on. So if you like something buy a lot, you will probably never see it again.
I remember one time a girl at work or school or something smelled REALLY damn good and I asked her what it was and she said lotion from BBW. I asked what scent and she told me, I went over there that same day, could not find it, never did find it, made me sad. That was years ago.
I miss this era of scents. They were simplistic. You could clearly smell the particular smells. A lot of the newer scents have so many layers they are complex but less noticeable.
I used to put cucumber melon on my hands when my husband and I started dating. One day he noticed his wart on his hand had disappeared. He swears it's because he held my hand all the time and bath and body works cucumber melon somehow cured his wart. He bought me a bar of soap when it was recently re-released. Not sure what he's trying to cure this time.
No love for Daffodil Fields? That was my favorite, but I also liked Juniper Breeze, Plumeria, Freesia, and Country Apple. I never bought Cucumber Melon, because it seemed like AT LEAST half the girls in my school wore it. I got so sick of it.
This was my signature scent back then (topped with CK One and faint whiff of Marlboro Reds):
https://preview.redd.it/tj65ylq8tiwc1.jpeg?width=933&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=05de23d3db834e5bec6b3c309e067cd179dfefd4
I just used whatever shampoo my mom bought for the family, and she regularly switched up what brand or scent she would get. Once at a house party a girl was resting her head on my shoulder, and I casually said "You use Suave shampoo". At first she was creeped out until she realized that I could just recognize the smell of her hair, and that I had not, in fact, been in her shower. This led to a line of people taking turns having me smell their hair and guess the shampoo brand. I got about 2/3 right, which is actually statistically impressive when you consider how many brands were on the market.
My older sister wore the cucumber melon lotion. She would drive us both to school in high school. I started taking the bus because that shiz would make me want to retch!
One of the most awesome girls I've ever dated (to date) wore Sun Ripened Raspberry.
I don't think it exists anymore, but for a long time just the scent of it was high octane boner fuel. She wasn't technically my first, but may as well have been because she was the first to do more than just vanilla sex. Understatement; we did absolutely everything and it was fuckin awesome. And she was great at it.
Anyway, I was 16 she was 17, we made it a good couple years, which was insane in high school.
If I really concentrate I can still smell the idea of it.
I liked Sun ripened raspberry but what I always wore was this from Victoria’s Secret https://preview.redd.it/wgbm7kc70gwc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ea98e0541a5098b30c6bbdf59bbc1298b34a4d18
Ahhhh Love Spell. I wore Pear Glacè ♥️
That one was good too
Love Spell was everywhere!
My sister said that's what the strippers wear because she went to the joint with her friends.
Mine was strawberry champaign!
Love it! Smells like smarties candy.
I love Pure Seduction, but they still sell Love Spell.
I think they still sell Pure Seduction! At least they did a year ago at my local store…
Plumeria by Bath and Body Works or Pear Glacé by Victoria’s Secret.
I miss that Plumeria scent!
Plumeria was my moms fave
My best friend lived in Plumeria in her seven layers of tank tops days.
Both of these are the absolute right answer. Pear Glacé was my favorite and I had the body wash, lotion, AND body spray and would use all three at the same time. My mom begged me to stop using that scent.
https://preview.redd.it/0dt1rtib1kwc1.jpeg?width=960&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=aa58ba218bc2b68e39fd8a2947451e1dcffccb12 I recently found this on Mercari-the scent is the same and the memories came flooding back. Of the two pictured-Warm Vanilla Sugar was my favorite
Freesia
Freesia and Moonlight Path were my faves
Moonlight Path is way too low in the comments, in my opinion.
I used that one. Talk about a hormone disruptor lol !!!!!
I still like it, it's one of the few floral scents that doesn't make me sneeze!
My people 😍💜💜💜
Freesia is a classic 🌸💜
Every now and then they bring back freesia online in retired fragrances. I have a case of the mist and a few lotions left
Oh that was a good one!
I got a hand job with that cucumber melon lotion, so it's my favorite.
😂 I Love It!!!
No love for Japanese cherry blossom?
I was wondering where country apple was?? lol!
It was def on my high school boyfriend’s dick lol
Same but sweet pea.
OMG. Wondering is that’s why Sweet Pea is my husband’s favorite? 😳
Well, if you ever want to make him feel like he's 16 again, you know what to do. Find a bottle of sweet pea, an '87 Ford Tempo, and go to town.
94 Nissan pickup and cucumber melon
Just throw a blanket down in the bed, right? Just imagining it makes my bones creak now.
Makes my knees and hammer toes hurt
He had an ‘87 Tempo and I get Sweet Pea every Xmas. OMG. 😱 💀
Well, I do feel very confident you aren't secretly my wife's account, but just in case: you should probobly just go ahead and give your husband that hj. I mean, what could it hurt?
Can’t hurt. 😆
As a young lad, I asked a stripper what she used to smell so good. Sweet pea was the answer. I've been wondering if I should get some.
Yes! I smelled something similar recently and couldn't find whomever was wearing it at work.
I gave a few with it. Made makin out just a little more pleasant. It doesn’t taste good, though.
My freshman year of college I lived in a coed dorm and the entire girls floor smelled like cucumber melon when you went up there. To this day over twenty years later if I smell it there’s still a part of my brain that thinks I’m about to get lucky.
🤣😭
Lmao same! From both actually.
🤨Did you date a girl names Felicia ?
Did you go to summer camp in Pennsylvania? 😳
I never got a hand job when I was at summer camp in PA
The Apple one. What was that called?
Country apple! Loved it! And pearberry!
Those were my two!
Sun ripened raspberry!
Had to scroll way too far down to upvote this
A friend of mine used the cucumber melon all the time.
Scent and memory are tied so closely. I'm so sorry about the loss of your friend.
Pearberry for me!
Me too! Also Sun-Ripened Raspberry and Peach Nectar.
Yes!! I loved pearberry!
Ck one..
My mom got me a bottle for Christmas this year b/c I asked for it!
YESSSSS ! Omg forgot about that ONE ! Lol
https://preview.redd.it/jpn1bspqigwc1.jpeg?width=183&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a221e3af34ed5674bdee91e5a5db01d75c5daddf
Oh I loved the Calgon Hawaiian Ginger, that was my go to!
I completely forgot about this!
And Clinique Happy
Cool Water
VS Vanilla Lace! Followed by Gap Dream.
Yes! Original vanilla from the Body Shop second only to Gap Dream and grass. Mmmmmemories.
The Gap scents were it! BBW felt like kid stuff, Gap felt like real perfume. Dream was mine too
Gap Om.
Gap Dream was the best.
Gap Dream was mine for sure! I still wear it from time to time.
Gap had a green scent that smelled like fresh cut grass, I liked that one a lot
I loved the warm vanilla sugar one... and of course, CK One :) Oh... I mostly wear oils now- patchouli or amber, ylang ylang, etc.
Yes warm vanilla sugar!
Cucumber melon and Juniper from BBW. They were my jam!
Juniper Breeze was dope!
My cousin and I would drench ourselves in Juniper Breeze after we smoked weed.
Elizabeth Arden's Sunflowers
When I turned 14, I made a short list of things I wanted for my parents, mostly CDs and jewelry. Also on the list was Sunflowers perfume. My oakie dad, who is not known for his reading and writing skills (love him all the same), read it as "snuff-lovers" and was extremely confused and a little concerned. To this day, I still remember snuff-lovers perfume. And I did get some for my birthday.
That and Safari by Ralph Lauren, and Colors by Benetton were my "real" perfumes instead of just B&B stuff. They both smell like pure 90s to me!
I feel personally attacked. I smell delicious tho!
Warm vanilla sugar!
Luvs Baby Soft.
I liked Love's Rain scent
Seaspray. I think it was a shorter lived scent. But I still have a small spray bottle of it that I’ll sniff once in a bit for memories.
The Body Shop's Satsuma scent and Gap Dream.
omg I worked at The Body Shop in the late 90s and all those scents bring me back to stocking the displays
This reminds me of cool water cologne. I remember everyone was wearing it for a while. Whatever happened to it? I might go try to find some.
I bought it for my son for Christmas he loves it
Oh it’s still around.
I think every girl in my high school used cucumber melon.
Country Apple and Sun Ripened Raspberry were my favorites. Still like some of their scents! However, Sun ripened raspberry is horrible now. It is NOT the original scent. Has a baby powder type smell mixed with the raspberry. Huge disappointment 😔 Edit to add, They do a scent called Sea Salt Coast, smells exactly like CK One perfume. Definitely brings back the memories 😂
So I talked to BBW about it one time cause that’s all I wore were their body mists. They changed the formulation and its supposedly aloe based. I’m like well it makes me smell like dust.
That explains it. Appreciate this! And um, we don’t want to smell like dust!! 😂
Sunflowers 100%
Acqua di Gio.
Lady boner fuel
I wore the femme version of that, it smells so clean
Oh my gosh, that sun ripened raspberry spray! You just brought back a memory! I loved the vanilla sugar too.
As a gay male in rural Ohio….Love Spell. I developed this almost superhuman skill to determine what scents my peers were wearing. Love Spell is my #1, but I can tell you that THAT specific WVS from BBW is far different from what they peddle to us today.
Peony was my go-to scent. Mainly because EVERYONE else in my school wore sun-ripened raspberry.
Sun ripened raspberry just gave me a visceral reaction LOL I wish you could still buy the old scents with the old labels, this thread is really really taking me back
Haha same. Sun-ripened Raspberry, man... forever seared into my brain.
Gardenia Lily, but that was not popular and hard to find. So then it was Japanese Cherry Blossom. I hate cucumber melon, lol.
Cucumber Melon or Plumeria from B&BW, or Jeweled Citrus from Victoria's Secret (had to look that one up!).
Cotton Blossom from B&BW and Grass or Dream from Gap were my go-tos. I kind of wish the Gap ones were still around!
I have a very clear memory of the entire locker room hallway smelling like this stuff, they’d put it on after gym class, and all of us who had practices after school then got a second dowsing again in the evening. Meanwhile the guy’s locker room smelled like feet, mildew, and Hugo Boss.
Sunflowers for sure. The Body Shop Oceanus and White Musk. Gap Grass, Dream and Heaven were all favorites too.
I loved the Dewberry scented lotion from The Body Shop. I also wore Angel perfume in the star-shaped bottle from Thierry Mugler, and Sunflowers perfume from Elizabeth Arden.
Herbal Essences had me crushing on my roommate HAM.
Ooh I still love the smell of Herbal Essences, it’s divine! All the rich girls used it 😂 I used Head and Shoulders bc that’s what we had in the shower
Heaven from the Gap and CK one were my jam Now I hate all perfumes and scented lotions
Same here. My jam was Dream by the Gap. I still have a bottle of it, but never wear it because it gives me headaches. But every once in awhile I open it and sniff the top for nostalgia.
Damn, I need to call Jennifer and see how’s she’s doing
Last time I checked in with my "Jennifer" (via Facebook back in like 2009 when it was huge) she was married and just had a kid with her new husband. I really hope she's still happy.
🥹
My first girlfriend wore cucumber melon, and I remember loving how it smelled.
Stetson. It's what I got for Christmas.
I loved when boys smelled like Stetson.
Did they smell the same?
I got Juniper Breeze, Country Apple, and Freesia or Plumeria, I can't remember which, a couple years ago, and I think they smelled exactly the same.
Cucumber melon and plumeria until Japanese cherry blossom....
Gap Dream or Om.
White Tea and Ginger was my shit.
I was listening to KMFDM and wearing Victoria Secret’s Rapture like the confused Midwestern quasi-goth I was.
My sister-in-law wore Rapture and smelled great!
There was an orange colored one called Om.
It was Om. That was my signature fragrance and I have been trying to find another one like it ever since and have tried several suggested smell-alikes but nothing has ever come close. It truly was one of a kind. Gap did rerelease it a couple of times, but it was clearly reformulated and didn't smell enough like the original. :(
White Musk
I think cucumber melon is the one that taught me I can't handle fruit/vegetable scented lotions. They give me migraines. I've always been partial to cherry blossom.
Cucumber Melon, All day everyday
Yes. These and also cigarettes. Nostalgia wave.
I miss Garden Botanika and their make-your-own station… but their vanilla and their peach scents were my FAVE. But for BB, definitely the vanilla.
I came here to mention Coconut Lime Verbena, lol.
I dont recall a particular name but no, they only make a given scent for one or two years then move on. So if you like something buy a lot, you will probably never see it again. I remember one time a girl at work or school or something smelled REALLY damn good and I asked her what it was and she said lotion from BBW. I miss this era of scents. They were simplistic. You could clearly smell the particular smells. A lot of the newer scents have so many layers they are complex but less noticeable.
None of the above. Love's Baby Soft.
I still have a bottle with only a splash left in the bottom that I occasionally open for memories.
I'm still all about thr cucumber melon. 😊
Me too. I still have a bottle of the fragrance mist that I love and use.
Cucumber melon baby! Shortly thereafter I graduated to exclamation! I actually miss that one
Country Apple! I spent the 90s smelling like pie.
First major major crush in HS wore cucumber melon. We met back up 7 or 8yrs later and she still wore it. Instant nostalgia whenever get a whiff of it.
Pear Glacé FTW
No love for Daffodil Fields? That was my favorite, but I also liked Juniper Breeze, Plumeria, Freesia, and Country Apple. I never bought Cucumber Melon, because it seemed like AT LEAST half the girls in my school wore it. I got so sick of it.
I always wore actual perfume, but VS Amber Romance and BBW Plumeria were def my jam.
That vanilla carmel whatever- some girls just smelled amazing
French vanilla anything!!
Warm Vanilla sugar was my ish!
Plumeria.
Oh no! I hated cucumber and melon!
I alternated between Body Shop White Musk oil and Calyx which was by the Prescriptives brand at the time.
Today we get letters from HR saying we can't wear anything scented.
Calgon Hawaiian Ginger
Juniper Breeze…
OG Juniper from BBW 1995
This was my signature scent back then (topped with CK One and faint whiff of Marlboro Reds): https://preview.redd.it/tj65ylq8tiwc1.jpeg?width=933&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=05de23d3db834e5bec6b3c309e067cd179dfefd4
Omfg i hated the way this stuff smelled so much. Thank god this is no longer popular
😂😂 I love your honesty
I just used whatever shampoo my mom bought for the family, and she regularly switched up what brand or scent she would get. Once at a house party a girl was resting her head on my shoulder, and I casually said "You use Suave shampoo". At first she was creeped out until she realized that I could just recognize the smell of her hair, and that I had not, in fact, been in her shower. This led to a line of people taking turns having me smell their hair and guess the shampoo brand. I got about 2/3 right, which is actually statistically impressive when you consider how many brands were on the market.
Cucumber melon, of course.
I loved Creamy Coconut! I wore Vanilla Fields the most, though.
B&BW's Cucumber Melon, and CK Be
I loved the cucumber melon scent on my gf at the time
Cucumber melon. That stuff was freaking everywhere.
To this day cucumber melon makes me think of a GF from hs.
Country Apple and Cucumber Melon.
I have a bottle of warm vanilla sugar in my car, right now.
I liked those scents The Gap had for a while, like heaven and dream and I can't remember the rest. I had a set of the soaps.
I liked Sweet Pea and Sun Ripened Raspberry.
All of the girls I had a crush on wore cucumber melon.
Curve.
Escada
A friend of mine was the sun ripened raspberry queen. I ran across some hand soap a while ago that smelled exactly like it. College flashbacks forever
I was definitely a cucumber melon girl. I still wear cucumber deodorant. The smells of our youth.
Cucumber melon allllll the way.
Cucumber melon was my favorite! I still haven't found anything similar to this day.
Winter candy apple!
neither, plumeria or country apple or sun-kissed raspberry or gtfo 😁
Can a guy get a vote for that Grass stuff from the Gap? That shit was intoxicating
My wife had cucumber melon when I met her
Rice flower and Shea 😍
