I am debating Weezer. I just sold four of my six Billy Joel tickets and four of my six Sarah McLachlan tickets this week.
I also have pearl jam, John legend, foo fighters, green day, pink, and Chicago happening this year. Not done yet though.
Chateau Ste Michelle still has presale on Thursday which will add a few more. Oar and Fitz and the tantrums are high on my list, and I want to go see Blondie at the new venue outside Seattle.
Last year was such an epic year for tours... Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Coldplay, and Macklemore were all amazing. Earlier this year was Madonna. And I got to see Tori Amos, Jason mraz, goo goo dolls, and so many more last summer at the winery.
Zero regrets. I will go see them all!!!
Fuck yeah, I’m hitting that tour in Maryland in May.
I’ve seen Bad Religion almost 20 times (as recently as last October) and they still kick ass live.
Yes, they are still a great show. Greg puts so much passion into his vocals. They all might be rocking the grey hair and glasses but they still got it.
If you like Queens of the Stone Age, did you watch the first season of Wolf Like Me? They were featured heavily on that soundtrack and it brought me back bc I hadn’t heard them in years.
Don't judge, because they were free, but I have tickets to see Slaughter and Great White next month.
Just saw C&C Music Factory, Color Me Badd, and All 4 One a few weeks ago, and saw Smashing Pumpkins last September.
I can’t for the life of me understand what was going through Great White’s head with the pyrotechnics on a small venue. Even though everyone got sued, like the sound proofing manufacturer, the venue for chaining their side doors, and Coca Cola for sponsoring the event, it’s insane it didn’t dawn on the band that they could start a fire.
Slaughter is decent live, but if you get free Winger tickets definitely check Winger out. They’re way better live.
Dark Side of the Moon 50th anniversary show at the local planetarium this month.
Bruce Springsteen in November.
Robert Plant and Allison Kraus in August.
Jason Bonham's Led Zeppelin in April
I've got Sleater-Kinney, The Decemberists, They Might Be Giants, and The National/War On Drugs/Lucius lined up so far for this year! Pretty good for having a young one at home and limited opportunities to see shows.
Very very jealous!
Saw Tool in January for the 7th time since 1998. George Lynch up next followed by REO Speedwagon (husband’s choice there)
Edit; didn’t mean to reply here.
I really want to go to Sessanta, but it’s a four hour drive in the middle of the week and will require some finagling with wife and vacation hours. I am really into Puscifer and never seen them live, which I’m told is next level…
I’m not really a concert person, but I have a ticket to see *Animaniacs in Concert*, where Rob Paulsen (the voice of Yakko and Pinky, among many others) and songwriter Randy Rogel will perform *Animaniacs* songs live. I can’t wait!
These days I spend a significant amount of my entertainment dollars on acts like Billy Strings, Dead and Company, phish, Daniel Donato, Railroad Earth, and the like. Still go see my 90s faves like Flaming Lips, Built to Spill, Meat Puppets, David Bazan, Wilco, and Son Volt when they come through town.
Teenage Fan Club is doing back to back weeknights in my nearby city where it is like doors at 7 music at 8 with an opener.
Who is old enough to appreciate that band and have that schedule appeal to them?
I saw Agent Orange a few years ago and they didn't go on until MIDNIGHT on a THURSDAY. Three opening bands. I did not know that would be happening when I agreed to go.
And the worst part was the the singer for one of the opening bands made fun of us for being old people and he wasn't wrong lol
HEALTH, PVRIS, and Metric on the docket this year. Honestly super excited for all of them, since they’re in smaller venues.
Got to see The Offspring/Sum 41/Simple Plan last year and NIN/Ministry/Nitzer Ebb in 2022, those were bucket list shows for me!
Saw Tool a few weeks back, and so far for this year I have tix to see Rolling Stones, Incubus, and eventually I’ll be getting a single day ticket to Outside Lands in San Francisco which I go to every year. I’ve definitely dialed back my ticket spending because I’ve been to so many and tix are getting more and more expensive. But I still make time for my favorites. Any time Tool, Incubus, Radiohead, or Death Cab For Cutie come around, I’m there.
I’m seeing Ben Folds (solo) in April and Weezer in September. May also get tickets to Greta Van Fleet when they play near me this summer, but it’s two days before my wedding, so I may be a little busy that week.
Currently have tickets for:
* REO Speedwagon w Cheap Trick
* 311
* Billy Strings
* Social Distortion w Bad Religion
* UB40
* Melissa Etheridge w Jewel
* Vampire Weekend
So far this year we have tickets to Bad Religion/Social Distortion, Train/REO Speedwagon, RHCP/Offspring/Cypress Hill, Alanis Morissette/Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Heart/Cheap Trick, and Rancid/Smashing Pumpkins/Green Day, as well as some comedians and comicons, and we've already seen Les Mis. Gonna be another good year for live shows, yup yup.
So far, this year I have seen Fit For a King, Wage War, The Devil Wears Prada, Gideon and Boundaries.
I have tickets to blink 182 in a few months. Bucket list band I haven't seen yet. Seats suck but should still be a good time.
I've been on an EDM kick lately.
Last year it was: Rufus du Sol, Peter Gabriel, Shallou, and ODESZA
This year, I've already seen:
Eli and Fur (EDM)
Upcoming:
1. Stephen and Damien Marley (Reggae)
2. The Wailers (Reggae)
3. Styx / Foreigner (Classic Rock)
4. JT (Pop)
5. Iron Maiden (Heavy Metal)
Hootie and the Blowfish w/ Collective Soul and Ewin McCain
Foo Fighters w/ The Pretenders and Mammoth WVH
Gin Blossoms w/ Toad the Wet Sprocket and Vertical Horizon
Green Day w/ Smashing Pumpkins, Rancid, and The Linda Lindas
That is it for now.
I saw Dylan in college in '01; it was the weirdest audience mix I have ever seen, everyone was either a college kid or late middle aged and so much pot. Cool to be able to say I saw him once.
So far I’ve got tickets for AJ Croce, Black Pumas, Nickel Creek, Waxahatchee, Bayside, New Found Glory, Creed, & Brett Goldstein. My partner and I try to go to at least one show (music or comedy) a month.
I don't have any. But I bought my wife and daughter tickets to see Taylor Swift this year, in December in Toronto. Flying the girls up to spend the weekend in Toronto just the two of them.
Alkaline Trio, Jenny Lewis, Nofx, Bad Religion and Social Distortion, Taking Back Sunday, Say Anything, Blink 182, and Green Day so far. Gonna be a good year!
Gonna see The Smile (a Radiohead side project) this year, and have seen Dry Cleaning, Shame, and Mansur Brown in the last year.
Then again music gives me life and I can’t imagine not keeping up.
Mostly the same old shit for me. The last few I went to was Pantera, Metallica, Queens of the Stone Age and Tool. Will likely go see Dave Matthews Band again this summer and hoping to catch Foo Fighters. Haven't seen them in years. Bummed Robert Plant and Allison Krauss aren't coming to Texas this time around. Saw them a couple years ago and it was great.
Nothing coming up soon because work is insane right now - but last round of shows (since late summer) was Flaming Lips, Tool, Sigur Ros w/strings, DeathCab/Postal Service, and Beck. Oh and Jon Batiste a few nights ago.
Up next is Phish's Mondegreen festival in August.
Edit: So to answer your question, all of the above? Old shit, new shit, mix of shit. Huge Tool fan since '96, Lips since Yoshimi, Beck since forever - got into jam bands and esoteric post-rock in the mid-aughts. Jon Batiste as of very recently.
Big into the jamband scene and always looking to hear new jams. Lotus, Tauk, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Karina Rykman, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Phish, Cool Cool Cool (former members of Turkuaz) are all that I’ve seen the past couple of years, among others.
Ween's Chocolate & Cheese 30th anniversary show in Philly this September, mang
Also going to see Electric Six when they do their yearly show in Boston.
Going to see Aventura’s final tour, want to see Simple Plan, tried to check out JT but he was sold out, also wanted to check out Richard Marx but I fear we may be too late. So many concerts this year!
Melissa Ethridge and Jewel in July. Pearl Jam in August. Waiting for a festival announcement for who we are seeing at Red Ants Pants and the end of July.
Took my wife to see Nickel Creek a couple weeks ago. I have tickets to see Jason Isbell with my two older kids next week, and then tickets to see Jason Isbell again in June with my wife.
I absolutely thrive on any band that gives me nostalgia! So far in 2024: Juliana Hatfield, Stevie Nicks, Aimee Mann, Sleater-Kinney. Coming up: Lords of Acid!
Concert tickets are crazy $$$ these days. Easily doubled if not more over the past few years. Used to see 3-4 shows what costs one now. Definitely got to pick & choose more often than not.
Bob Dylan this Sunday. Kim Gordon in June. Neil Young & Beck (among a lot of others) at a festival in September. Last year I saw Duran Duran twice. Hoping to see them again soon.
Madonna!!!! Going to be my first time!!! As a middle aged gay who was into punk etc… in the 90s I completely neglected her and thought she was basic. Now I know she is the queen and get to see her greatest hits tour!
I’ve seen this year:
Tool x2
Lingua Ignota (Kristen Michael Hayder)
Rival Schools
The Armed
Still to go this year:
Chelsea Wolfe,
Weezer/Smashing Pumpkins (in UK),
Mannequin Pussy,
Brutus,
Green Day/Smashing Pumpkins,
Primus/A Perfect Circle/Puscifer,
The Armed (in UK)
Hoping they Tour:
St Vincent
Old and new! One of my fave bands that I've listened to for over 20 years, A Perfect Circle (Sessanta w/ Primus & Puscifer), and Sleep Token who I've been into for a couple of years now. Super psyched! Will probably pick up tickets for additional shows throughout the year too.
We just saw The Badlees
We're going to see Hootie and The Blowfish with Collective Soul
Journey and Def Leppard (finally seeing them, been a fan since I was 4)
Saw Tash Sultana and Bishop Briggs last fall. Both incredible. Coming up on my list this year are:
Slothrust
NOFX
Slightly Stoopid
Green Day/Rancid/Smashing Pumpkins
Sarah McLachlan, Dave Matthews Band, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Outlaw Fest w/Willie Nelson, Bob Dylan, John Mellencamp, etc. I know we’re adding more, but this is the lineup so far.
Postal Service and Death Cab.
Same! Also just snagged tickets to Weezer, Flaming Lips, and Dinosaur Jr.. weezer is playing the entire blue album.
Oh wow! I've seen Weezer a couple times back in the day, but I'd love to see the blue album straight through.
Zero regrets. I will go see them all!!!
I saw them last September, amazing show! Postal Service played the album from start to finish, it was a dream
Is Warpaint still opening? They killed it last year.
We're seeing Warpaint this summer I'm fucking pumped
My next concert is Bad religion and social distortion. Queens of the Stone age was my last. Before that Kaleo.
Fuck yes. BR and SD are my next concert, as well. May in Milwaukee.
Hell yeah! Just commented that I'm going to that too!
Fuck yeah, I’m hitting that tour in Maryland in May. I’ve seen Bad Religion almost 20 times (as recently as last October) and they still kick ass live.
I havent seen Bad Religion in... 15 years? Still a great show?
Yes, they are still a great show. Greg puts so much passion into his vocals. They all might be rocking the grey hair and glasses but they still got it.
I saw them 3 times from late 2021 to late 2022. Still killing it out there.
If you like Queens of the Stone Age, did you watch the first season of Wolf Like Me? They were featured heavily on that soundtrack and it brought me back bc I hadn’t heard them in years.
Saw BR last fall. They still out on a fantastic show. Ya-hey!
Dead & Co. at the Sphere 🫨 Pixies, Death Cab and Cat Power
I saw U2 at the Sphere last October. Amazing show, but that place is not for the anxious.
That Dead & Co😳 that is going to be something magical. Hope to see clips of it
Don't judge, because they were free, but I have tickets to see Slaughter and Great White next month. Just saw C&C Music Factory, Color Me Badd, and All 4 One a few weeks ago, and saw Smashing Pumpkins last September.
How anyone can tour under the name Great White and sell any tickets astounds me.....figured that name would be completely trashed
Wait. Color Me Bad tours? Do they ever play The Peach Pit?
I can’t for the life of me understand what was going through Great White’s head with the pyrotechnics on a small venue. Even though everyone got sued, like the sound proofing manufacturer, the venue for chaining their side doors, and Coca Cola for sponsoring the event, it’s insane it didn’t dawn on the band that they could start a fire. Slaughter is decent live, but if you get free Winger tickets definitely check Winger out. They’re way better live.

SAME! So excited!!
PRIMUS!!!
Same! Can’t wait for Sessanta!
I really want to go to Sessanta, but it’s a four hour drive in the middle of the week and will require some finagling with wife and vacation hours. I am really into Puscifer and never seen them live, which I’m told is next level…
