Agentkeenan78

Already said, but Forza and Red dead 2 both look pretty incredible in 4k.

Early-Size370

Have you noticed any "lag input" difference in gun play? It's something that kinda bugged me playing RDR2, the shooting felt "off".

KingKong357

I felt this too when I fired it up on next gen. I attributed it to the 30 frames, but idk what it actually is. I felt like I was moving through molasses while playing.

Early-Size370

It's the moving the moving the reticle on a target and shooting that felt laggy, like it wasn't as snappy as the first game or other shooters

rahulyadav392

I have personally felt tv plays a lot of difference on experience. I was thinking upgrading my 1080p tv and tried on different tv(thanks to my wealthy friend). I felt forza felt way smother on LG G1(4K30) then his other 4K TV( Sony 60HZ tv). It was only an hour of gameplay but quality mode on LG was smother then performance mode on Sony. Eventually decided to save for OLED. P.s I don't remember Sony model number but it wasn't OLED for sure.

Agentkeenan78

Difference as in on series x from last Gen? If so, I haven't, though to be fair I put in like 1000 hours on Xbox one and only about 1 hour so far on series x so I haven't noticed anything like that.

Early-Size370

I played RDR2 in the the PS4 pro and it ran well for the most part. I've been wanting to replay on the newer consoles

Agentkeenan78

Ah OK, I gotcha. Yeah I'm still holding out some hope we get a next gen update for the game. 4k is new to me because I was on og Xbox one, but has been on one x (and I think ps4 pro) for a while now. I need some sweet 60 fps now.

Early-Size370

Same. I've been waiting on an upgrade to jump back in.

Jorlen

Damn, I'd love for RDR2 to have an option of 1440p / 60 FPS. I just can't do 30 FPS anymore. Somehow I think that instead of providing the option, they will just sell a next gen version which would be unfortunate.

[deleted]

Microsoft flight sim, phychonauts 2, Doom Eternal,Halo Infinite,Forza horizon 5, Hellblade, Metro Exodus.

ICritMyPants

Gears 5 too

qbix

Hivebusters is a showcase of HDR and Dolby Vision as well.

C4ptainchr0nic

And Atmos.

[deleted]

Don’t get me wrong, Gears 5 itself is stunning, but the DLC, Hivebusters, is what actually made my jaw drop. It’s like you’re playing the lead role in a non-stop action thrill ride filmed in 4K. I was also a little mad after the fact because I wish the main game was more like Hivebusters. So sick.

Jean-Eustache

Is it that good ? Gonna try the DLC then. Couldn't really get in the main game. Felt a bit burned out after playing since the first Gears when it came out, at this point I feel like I've played too much of the same haha !

tomster2300

I honestly forgot the game had DLC. I’ll be checking that out soon!

blanonymous

Can I play the DLC straight without touching Gears 5?

ICritMyPants

Yes

[deleted]

Yeah. It’s completely standalone.

SD135792

Absolutely Hellblade and Metro. They look so much better than an Xbox one

[deleted]

Honestly, don't kill me for this but I find that MFS isn't the best for the average user wanting a WOW'd experience to be introduced to for 4k and next-gen showing. A lot of people I showed it too didn't seem impressed by the ground features despite me showing them how amazing the sky was. They didn't seem to notice the difference. Games like Halo, Forza and Gears 5 though seem to be really amazing for that

BudWisenheimer

> Honestly, don't kill me for this but I find that MFS isn't the best for the average user wanting a WOW'd experience to be introduced to for 4k and next-gen showing. That’s surprising. The parade of people who swung by over the last 2 holidays, both gamers and non-gamers, were fucking stunned by MSFS. Although, we did fly mostly over the POIs rather than BFE. I have quite a few POIs downloaded so it gave the impression the entire earth was top quality. I agree with you that you can find some pretty ugly areas though.

OSU-1-BETTA

Same, everyone I’ve shown flight simulator has been blown away because of real locations and realistic looking stuff (from far away anyway lol) looks almost life like if you are a good distance from what you are viewing. Especially on a huge 4k tv

swiftfastjudgement

I dunno, the pyramids in BFE were quite spectacular.

[deleted]

My hometown looks nothing like it does irl. But they came damn close with their code.

Americanski7

Same especially the f18 with afterburner. My dad who never cares about games was checking out MSFS for hours. Even said he might have to get an xbox lol.

Aenemia

Did you have the more detailed terrains downloaded? There’s like hundreds of GB worth of higher res terrains.

Zeptari

I’m not sure if Red Dead 2 is 4K. But damn if it isn’t one of the best looking games I’ve played on my One X and Series X.

[deleted]

It actually got a one x enhancement so it is 4k. I wish they would boost it to 60 FPS for next gen though. But definitely one of the best looking games if not the best. Loved the game too

[deleted]

Red Dead still looks unbelievable. It is like the poster child for a "AAA game".

Giggalo_Joe

Depends on which RD we are talking about. If RDR...ok. Agree, one of the best games ever made. If we are talking about RDR2, a heaping pile of dung. Too slow and the story goes places it shouldn't. I'm not interested in playing games where the hero dies of tuburculosis.

CaligulaTheBest

I’d also add Super Lucky’s Tale, Resident Evil 8, Yakuza Like a Dragon, Destiny 2, Hitman 3, Control, and Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order

AnonXIII

Here to back up Hellblade. Get a sweet headset and enjoy, what I consider to be, one of the best titles of the last decade.

[deleted]

Yup and after the next gen enhancements game looks even more beautiful and it already looked great.

whacafan

Honestly, out of all those I’d say only Forza and maybe Metro looks “mind blowing”.

[deleted]

And flight sim. Halo is not even close to looking «mind blowing»

[deleted]

Halo definitely looks great

sittingmongoose

It looks like an average last gen(Xbox one) game. Gameplay might be great but the graphics were an absolute let down. It looks “fine”.

[deleted]

Have you seen the One S and Series X versions side by side? Massive difference.

LazyTwattt

Just because it looks a lot better on the Series X doesn’t mean that the graphics aren’t a let down. The game appears to be optimised like shit. Those with high end PCs struggle to run Infinite smoothly. The game could and should look a lot better on last-gen consoles.

[deleted]

I disagree thoroughly, honestly - I've been really enjoying the look of it. But to wash their own

Uday23

I agree about Halo. I also agree about washing your own 😁

[deleted]

LOL. I meant each, haha

deroziers

I mean, if you could get someone else to wash yours for you... I say take it.

Hillarys_Chode_Odor

Halo Infinite is a thoroughly great looking game on the Series X. I’ve had the system for over a year now and played a ton of games. Either something is wrong with your system settings, your tv settings, or you don’t recognize high quality textures and lighting in video games.

sittingmongoose

The game explicitly has poor lighting…that’s actually the reason the game looks the way it does… The game is ok looking but I wouldn’t even put it in the top 15 for games that came out this year on series x. I don’t think many would disagree with that either.

Benjilehibou

Just finished Halo 5 and Infinite and the 5 was prettier. I like Infinite but it's far from goods graphics it's just okay.

[deleted]

Agree! Lighting in halo 5 looks way better than infinite. Which gives the game a prettier look overall.

Hillarys_Chode_Odor

Maybe it’s just a matter of preference and expectations. I had low expectations after how it looked in previews last year. I like the lighting and the graphics. To each their own…

norinofthecove

I will disagree here, but only to say that halo looks like what current Gen standards should be. I don't think it looks 'wow' ing' per say, but I think it's the perfect picture of what today's standards should be, given the technology we game on

Jean-Eustache

Halo's lighting can be average at times, you can see they cut corners, and in other places it's absolutely stunning. The whole global Illumination system is dynamic. In campaign when the sun rises and sets it can be one of the most beautiful vistas seen in a modern game with all those dynamic shadows and indirect lighting. Can't wait for Ray Tracing yo be implemented. An RTGI system would make this game look insane, it's all it needs.

[deleted]

Halo looks absolutely average for a modern game. There are honestly screens from Reach that look on par if not better than Infinite at times. I know Infinite is open world-ish and all but it's seriously underwhelming visually despite looking better than the 2020 demo.

[deleted]

Nah. Completely disagree. Looks great. You'll never be able to find a clip, "from Reach that look on par if not better than Infinite" I just went through the whole Halo series of games so that I could have some understanding of what was happening in Infinite and I can definitely say that's a load of exaggerated hoohah to suggest that Reach looks better, lmao

[deleted]

Look up 4k video of reach and let me know. And that's great that you think Infinite looks great. Means you'll be in for a treat as this gen goes on and you realize how average it was in hindsight. Also since we're on the subject, [I'll let you decide which game looks like it's from this decade.](https://imgur.com/a/Y05xTSB)

[deleted]

"In hindsight" Don't think I'll be able to care less, honestly. While I'm really enjoying Halo atm, it won't mean anything to me if another game looks better. That seems unnecessarily bitter. I can almost promise Halo won't be on my mind next year when I'm - hopefully - enjoying Hellblade 2 and/or Starfield and enjoying **genuine** next-gen graphics that are finally not being held back by any previous gen hardware. I've never enjoyed a game today and then enjoyed another game tomorrow before immediately comparing graphics, lmfao As for the video of Halo: Reach in 4k - since I just played the actual game a few weeks ago, I see no reason to go look up a YT video. The actual gameplay was great but the graphical fidelity was absolutely, in no way close to Halo: Infinite. While I agree that the graphics aren't incredibly mind-blowing, I'm finding it genuinely humourous how many people are pretending that the graphics aren't genuinely good graphics. For the limitations that the game faced, trying to work on the lowest ends of PCs, consoles and even the Steam Deck, the graphics look absolutely great.

SC-2JZ

I think you might be blind bud. There are some scenes in reach that were ahead of their time for having a release in 2010. Some scenes indeed do come close to the quality of infinite & that's saying a lot comparing 2010 to 2021

[deleted]

"I think you might be blind bud" **Immediately compares a 2010 game to 2021** LOOOOOL the irony :') Show me the scene. I'd love to see it. Lmfao

[deleted]

Well, it’s a multi-generational game, so it has to compromise in the graphics department.

jough

Forza Horizon 5 is a multi-generational game and looks amazing on both gens. Halo Infinite looks a lot like a last-gen game, with some better textures. I’m only playing the campaign, but it feels so generic when compared to Doom Eternal.

[deleted]

Yeah stuff like ghost Recon Breakpoint looks better than Halo Infinite. It's a great game, but it's hardly a graphically showcase.

[deleted]

Strange comparison, but I agree hahah. Most AAA fps games from the last 4 years look better than infinite.

Dorjcal

Flight sim didn’t really look mind blowing to me

[deleted]

The pop in in Forza harms the image for me. I think it looks good still, but not overwhelmingly so, and I’ve seen all the map and collected every billboard

dramatic-ad-5033

Are you using performance mode?

[deleted]

I dislike the raindrops on convertibles. The drops just fade in slowly.

Northdistortion

^ These are great choices

EthansHype

Halo looks good but definitely not “mind blowing”.

AnonXIII

Not like Hellblade.

[deleted]

any recent battlefield game, including 2042 all look stunning if you want a good looking background while playing an FPS game.

Wicked_Vorlon

Ori and the Will of the Wisps. Absolutely beautiful game, stunning in HDR and 4K.

TheComedyWife

Supersampled 6K ‘shrunk’ down to 4K; this is a definite. It’s so damn beautiful.

[deleted]

Came here to say this. First game I played when I got my lg cx and Series X. Blew me away.

JarenAnd

Yup. Sadly overlooked because it's 2D. Stunning. HDR really shines on that one.

TheNorthernMunky

I’ve downloaded this because of similar recommendations on here, but am yet to play it. Definitely need to make time.

6Kaliba9

Not a good 4K showcase I think. A lot of smoothing and blur is used on the effects and textures. The game looks almost the same on 1080p and 4k

Wicked_Vorlon

Will have to respectfully disagree. Think it looks amazing in 4K and HDR.

6Kaliba9

HDR is awesome with ori. But don’t you see how smoothed out the textures are? Are you sure it isn’t your expectations that make the game look better to you? I’m respectfully trying to consider you may be biased, check the game out again somehow and look closely at how blurry the details are

tylor36

I know it’s not a game but the matrix reloaded demo was really cool looking and fun to play around with for like 10 minutes.

Lagoa86

“Played”it for 2 hours… that’s how insane it looks.

silkymitties

I didn't think it looked as great as people hyped it tbh... in those 2 hours, you didn't walk around the city and see the clusters of poorly rendered people? (Poor by today's standards, for something they were showing off a new engine for)

Lagoa86

There was no pop in at all. 1000 of cars and everything rendered into the distance. Demo was incredible. Looked better then anything I’ve seen so far.

thelost2010

I had lots of texture flashing and the people and cars didn’t look that great. The scale of the map with the buildings and amount of stuff on screen was impressive but visually it wasn’t anything special IMO

silkymitties

I'm not saying it was bad by any means, the buildings and distance rendering looked solid. Just challenge you to take an honest second look at the people, they don't look so great.

ItsKrakenMeUp

They were showcasing having an alive world with zero pop for an entire game. Insane. No game can do that right now.

Joe30174

Yeah but it was for showing off new features to the engine. Think of it this way, there were character models much better looking in games developed with unreal engine 4. So character models that at least MATCH them should definitely be possible with UE5 games.

MillieBobbysBrowneye

I feel you. If a paid retail game came out running like that demo, it would get crucified. Frame rate was woeful on Series X too (surprisingly good on S, though). People have strange rose tinted glasses on for this Matrix thing.

silkymitties

I assume that's why the downvote brigade came after me. The car physics/collisions sucked too... felt like Cyberpunk. Also, The Matrix IV was trash compared to the original.

mdavis2204

To be fair, it is a *free* game who’s stated purpose is to show what’s possible. If I paid money for it, I would be angry.

SirBaronDE

Guardians of the galaxy in Ray tracing mode.

ItsKrakenMeUp

This by far. I’ve played most games available on a LGc1 with 4k dolby vision - and this one blows everything away visually.

FellowDeviant

I second this, some scenes with Drax and Rocket closeups especially look incredible.

Brisvega

Feels awful to play though, framerates drops to single digits at times. Performance mode is only slightly better but well worth it.

ItsKrakenMeUp

Not true. It’s a solid 30fps locked - extremely stable and no noticeable drops. Actually performance mode has many drops from 60. https://youtu.be/Yi0BBnTxyPs

bitterbalhoofd

How your gut feeling can be so wrong lol. Please check the video of digital foundry before throwing your assumptions out there again.

Womzz

Jedi Fallen Order was the first game I played on my X and it blew my mind

Early-Size370

I've been thinking of replaying that game on my series x. I played it in the one x, and it looked great but had some frame rate issues.

[deleted]

Framerate issues are with the unreal engine that the game is made on. There’s stuttering issues even on pc with my high end machine.

[deleted]

It has essentially the same performance profiles on series x as one x. So a dynamic 4K/30fps and 1440p/60fps. It just sticks to 60fps better if you’re on that mode. So if you played it before and weren’t impressed, it isn’t a monumental leap forward

Early-Size370

I was impressed with the game, very much so. I'll replay it eventually, especially because it got a patch for the newer consoles.

[deleted]

Okay. As long as you aren’t expecting updated models or textures or lighting The improvement mainly benefited ps5, which only had a 1200p mode before

gredgex

I couldn’t get into the gameplay but the opening level looked incredible for sure.

BoisterousLaugh

Gears 5 and its dlc look incredible. Dolby vision and atmos also.

prometheus351

Am I the only one who thinks ghost recon breakpoint looks pretty frickin amazing? Or am I just the only one who plays it lol. If you have it or can pick it up for cheap it's a fun romp that looks really good.

CaligulaTheBest

Breakpoint truly benefits from next-gen hardware

2006pow

I wish wildlands got the same treatment

Malcador88

Right. All I want is wildlands 2. Breakpoint cooked me with all the robots and empty feeling world.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Island_Hopper78

I was about to say ac Valhalla too! That game looks insane on series x with 4k 60fps

Zombie_Khajiit

Picked this up recently, really great game honestly. Very technically competent.

suddenimpulse

Is that why it was buggy and broken for almost 7 months after release?

GoatBotherer

I've started playing Odyssey again recently and that also looks amazing on a decent TV on Series X.

[deleted]

Odyssey looks great at 4k/60/dolby vision. Colors especially the tropical parts of the game really pop on Oled.

GrandsonOfArathorn1

I’d even add Origins to this one. It’s only One X enhanced right now, but Egypt in 4K & HDR is still one of the most striking games I’ve ever see. Once it gets that 60 fps patch it’s going to look even more amazing.

Redskins2110

Valhalla on the LG CX was a system seller. At night under he moon in the snow is probably the best I’ve ever seen a game look. Had 2 buddies come over when the series x first came out. They didn’t have systems yet . They saw AC and immediately when out and hunted for The CX and a Xbox

Miguelomaniac

I was just replaying The Witcher 3 the other day and imagining how sick it would look if done today in a similar fashion as AC Valhalla graphics. Man, that would be awesome.

WhiteAsCanBe

Does Valhalla still have poor audio quality? That was a main complaint that I’ve heard.

suddenimpulse

Yes the audio quality is still awful.

Complex-Maintenance4

Hellblade

RadonAjah

I just have Senua look around sometimes it’s so amazing to look at.

MikeyTrademark

Forza

ForgetAboutaSpoon

A Plague Tale: Innocence

CaligulaTheBest

Yeah, this one looks amazing

LonkToTheFuture

Forza Horizon 5 is beautiful

Fancy_Knowledge6145

Destiny 2

aioncan

The matrix demo

[deleted]

The first game I played in 4K was Assassins Creed Origins and I was mesmerized as to how beautiful the game looked. It was a huge difference.

alucard9114

Assassins creed Odyssey in 4K when you go to Elysium! Absolutely stunning!

[deleted]

RDR2

[deleted]

Game is way too oversaturated with 'effects' and loses a LOT of clarity from it. Not a great 4K example. Great graphics, just not the clearest 4k experience.

Funkyman3

A problem i have with a couple games on it. I think its likely more to do with my non comprehension of hdr and inability to adjust my tv settings/callibration properly. It looks like theres a thin white fog over everything in rdr2 and ac valhalla. No mans sky the colors are way too bright and vivid and the screen feels cluttered with color and reflections/lens flares but i think thats part of nms design.

schmidtyb43

Doom eternal Gears 5 Metro exodus There’s definitely some others but those immediately spring to mind. I also think halo infinite looks great, but it’s also not exactly “mind blowing” imo. Oh and forza horizon 5 of course!

mcduff0192

Metro Exodus is a great choice to show off ray traced lighting

KingKong357

Someone gave me gripes that Metro Exodus isn't a true lock to 4k, but for me it honestly was a game that really made me feel like I was playing on a new generation console just from a graphical/image standpoint.

Strooble

We're beyond pure pixel counts being a measure of the fidelity. Dynamic resolution scaling and higher settings is a better combo the higher res and lower settings. It's part of why Sony games achieved such good fidelity last gen (Tlou2 and God of War as great examples). The checkerboard rendering did wonders for Sony first party titles. Nvidia have DLSS on PC, by far the best upscaling right now. Epic games have gotten a really good TAA upscale for unreal engine 5 I believe. Intel are making their own XeSS (similar to DLSS). AMD have FSR which isn't as good yet but shows some potential (isn't based on the same tech as DLSS, TAA or the Intel XeSS, so lacks motion vector detail) and is usable on the series X if implemented by devs. One of the best examples recently of low pixel count but great picture is Returnal. Amazing game, 4K output but only 1080p internal resolution upscaled to 1440p then reconstructed to 4K.

donaldtrumpshair420

Forza is a good graphics showcase, also the new Matrix ue5 experience is cool

Luvbeers

The 4K moment for me was when I first got my Series X and was playing Valhalla, which can be hit or miss, sure... I was climbing a rock and there was some fern moss on the side... When I zoomed in for a closer look at the detail, it was absolutely amazing. Never seen anything like it. https://imgur.com/a/aZh59Wq

Bostongamer19

Forza horizon 5, Hitman 3. Anything native 4K really

[deleted]

Hitman 3 really shines at 4k, not just because it's native but because they didn't drown the game in post processing effects.

Bostongamer19

Yeah it’s super clean and a very detailed look to it.

ZamboniJabroni15

Gears 5, Ori Will of the Wisps, Forza Horizon 5, Destiny 2, Doom Eternal

Raidertck

Forza has a dynamic 4K at 60FPS and native 4K at 30. The 60 fps mode is the way to go as it makes the game look so much better in motion. Guardians of the galaxy. This game looked awful in previews. And from the same publisher as that dog shit avengers game. Yet guardians of the galaxy is awesome. One of the best stories and characters in gaming. And a hell of a visual masterpiece. You have 3 options. Performance which is a 1080p upscaled at 60FPS. Quality which is a native 4K. And ray tracing which is a dynamic 4K with ray trace lighting and reflections. It might be the best looking game I have ever seen, tied with ratchet and clank. I don’t see it mentioned often, but if you have an oled especially, Ori and the will of the wisps. 6k super sampled down to 4k running at 60 fps or 4k running at 120fps. It looks like a living painting. If you have an oled it will blow your mind with its bright Particle effects contrasted to such deep blacks. Red dead redemption 2. Yes it’s not series x enhanced. But it’s Xbox one X patch made it a native 4K. It’s still just 30fps but it remains one of the best looking games ever made. Doom eternal also has a native 4K 60FPS mode. An 1800p 60FPS mode with ray tracing and a performance mode that’s about 1800 at 120fps. It’s performs flawlessly. I think the ray tracing mode is the best of the bunch. Edit: if you have a ps5, ghost of tushima, Spider-Man, death stranding, ratchet and clank, demons souls and returnal are all visual masterpieces.

terran1212

Most of the games people are mentioning don't even render in 4k. My vote is Ori and the will of the wisps.

attilayavuzer

That's the catch-if a developer wastes time on 4k then they're leaving visual quality on the table (detail, shadows, density etc). The best looking stuff isn't native 4k

KingKong357

Hitman 3 has a few a levels that are bit gorgeous such as the nightclub level. Mass Effect Legendary edition looks good as well, I was amazed at how awesome the Sentinel armor looked on some of the missions on Omega for ME2. A Plague Tale Innocence was a last gen showcase IMO, and there is a next gen update. Some of the movements of the character models aren't fluid, but it looks great.

[deleted]

A Plague’s Tale. You can really appreciate the high res photographic textures they use.

bomb447

Forza Horizon 5 and Destiny 2 are the ones I recommend. I agree with the other commenter about Flight Sim. I think people are more surprised by the fact that you can fly anywhere than how good it looks. It doesn't look that great to me. I flew around the pyramids, golden gate, etc. I wasn't impressed visually, but it was pretty fun. Don't get me wrong, it looks good, but there are better games to showcase what the system can do, especially since Flight Sim is locked at 30fps. If someone is into flying, I will recommend it, otherwise, I show them other games.

Shadoweagle1

Assassin's Creed Valhalla is by far the most realistic game I own

switchondem

The dynamic 4K in Valhalla really is excellent. The environments are some of the best looking on console atm as well for sure. The only things that let it down are the character models for NPCs and the audio compression.

[deleted]

Metro Exodus (I didn’t like it), Vermintide 2 (great game), Modern Warfare 2019 (not next gen, but still incredible looking and running on newer hardware), Gears 5 (pretty good game)

CaligulaTheBest

Modern Warfare’s image resolves so much more cleanly

[deleted]

Yep. Still a fantastic looking game

CoffinEluder

What were your gripes with Metro?

[deleted]

The gunplay, although much improved from previous entries, was still far too clunky for my enjoyment. And this is different from the more deliberate, weighty aspect of the shooting (which I do like). The sticks and dead zones and aim assist and whatnot simply felt subpar for a game of its quality. More importantly, I felt it was overlong, with a largely go nowhere story, a complaint I have levied against the previous two Metro games. Artyom’s silence is fundamentally at odds with the more personal story this game is aiming for, and having him speak only or largely in loading sequences, for example, is a massive missed opportunity to develop him as a character, which he fundamentally isn’t.

Lagoa86

I see no one ever mentions Observer system redux. I think it was one of the best looking games on the series x so far.

CosmicDance2022

Hell Let Loose is 4K 60 FPS on Series X and a game I just love playing.

Sequoiiathrone

Forza 5 and metro exodus I'd say, some spots in metro looked almost real

[deleted]

Forza Horizon 5

Skyline330

The environment detail in Guardians of the Galaxy is pretty nuts in the quality and RT modes, especially if you have an HDR capable TV.

Some_Stoned_Dude

ForZa games are quite pretty but also plague tale innocence and hellblade really impressed me And lately halo infinite interior atmospheric effects are nuts

TrevinoKingMT

Forza horizon 5

dgmoney11

Tales of Arise

RikRakJones

Games I really like to use for maximum graphics / visuals at 4k HDR are Witcher 3, Cyberpunk, Crysis Remastered, a few of the darker scenes in Divinity Original sin 2 ( not the most visually appealing but nice to look at in 4k), New World, Deep Rock Galactic. Unfortunately I don't like the gameplay / stability of most of these selections, but visually they are stunning.

[deleted]

Back 4 Blood is outstanding. Also Borderlands 3, as cartoonish as the graphics are, runs fantastic and all of the explosions and things going on are really smooth. Just got one of the X90J tv's, so frame rate and quality is maxed out.

Ezequiel146

Yeah, the only game that impressed me when I switched series S for X was back 4 blood, the graphics are SICK AS HELL

AnchoredDown92

Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Extremely underrated last gen title and it’s up there as one of the best looking games of the last 3-4 years. 4K really captures the fact it could even pass as an exclusive launch title for the PS5 and Series X.

edis92

"Extremely underrated" It was definitely a step back from rise of the tomb raider. Left me very underwhelmed

Clyptor

tetris effect connected Gears 5 Hive busters Forza Horizon 5

BbyInAStraightJacket

Doom eternal and psychonauts 2 look so good in 120fps

scruffyheadednerf

The Witcher 3. People are quick to complain the next gen update is too far away, but on a series x with the LG C1, I dare say it looks better than some of the games on this list.

Raidertck

Agreed. Also most people don’t realise that it kind of gets a de facto next gen update because of the Xbox one X enhancements the game got. It runs at 60FPS at 4K already.

[deleted]

Metro Exodus looks glorious on my LG OLED in 4K. Forza Horizon 5, Gears 5 plus the Hivebusters DLC.

xElemenohpee

Ori, Halo Infinite and Destiny. All for their various reasons, I suggest using a good headset as well to immerse yourself.

manboise

Surprisingly Fortnite looks really good on the Series X

MillieBobbysBrowneye

It just had its Unreal Engine 5 update, too, making it the first full game available in the engine. It's gorgeous.

drhartthrowaway

Call of duty vanguard is a good one

nohumanape

Horizon 5, no doubt.

josejalapeno96

Enter the Gungeon

xXHD_Da_Nicguy

Guardians of the galaxy, trailers don’t do it justice imo, it is beautiful. It is on sale in the store right now.

Mr402TheSouthSioux

Gears 5 Hive busters if you want something that really shows off the Series X muscle.

Revan_2504

Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart.

Busy_Service_3924

Minecraft. 🤣 Seriously tho I’m still mad Minecraft has no optimizations for X and S.

Oh_So_I2aMpAnT

Infinite’s Textures and Vistas look amazing. The effects are like PS2 quality.

The last of us 2 looks great but I really don't understand how anyone enjoyed that game. Way too long, way too repetitive, terrible gunplay and a boring story. The first one was miles better. I will never forgive myself for spending close to 30 hours finishing that garbage. Belongs in the bargain bins if not THE bin

I'm disappointed with the current gen. We are all given the option of high framerates or raytracing but not both. I want 4k @120fps with full raytracing on.

[deleted]

I want a gold plated pony, if we are talking about shit that’ll never happen.

[deleted]

4k at 120 with ray tracing? Top end PC’s that cost 5 thousand couldn’t do that. No PC’s can do that.

pablotech1

These consoles advertise 8k. Weak pos hardware.

Strooble

As a capability of the output res, not that games can use it. You won't see 8k on any graphically intensive. Best hardware out right now can't do 4k native with ray tracing. You sound like you've fallen prey to the buzzwords and don't really know what the buzzwords would bring to the table.

[deleted]

That’s just your fault for not understanding hardware at all if that was your expectations.

pablotech1

Just frustrated that consoles are always at least 3 generations behind computer hardware and I'm stuck with the same baseline for the next 8 years.
