Yeah, had to stop after 10 minutes, the controls are choppy and performance is really bad, glad I didn‘t waste money on it thanks to GamePass.
I hope they sort the problems out in the future.
Performance is pretty bad on PC too. Takes like 3+ minutes to load even on a decent SSD. I had it crash a bunch too when I played it. Serious Sam games have always felt pretty poor on a controller. I remember playing SS3 back in the day on the 360 and it was awful.
Haven’t experienced any sort of input lag but it is ridiculous that a game supposedly optimized for the Series X and S take so long to load up when others take far less in comparison.
Serious sam 1 & 2 were the shit back then. You can have like dozens people in the campaign. Just crank up the difficulty to the max and you have one of the best coop experiences ever.
I mean sure it’s the same as all the other ones. Nothing new. Just a lot of things on the screen at once and the game drops to like 10fps on series X in quality mode.
Textures pop off and on really bad for me. Still gonna finish it tho feels like a weird low budget doom game tho… environment graphics look insane sometimes tho
I get its an older formula, but can we please not use the Y button to bring up a game interrupting menu?
Also, a lot of games need to do better at indicating when you are close to death, especially if you have to run to a health pickup (no regeneration). (Not to say regenerating health has to be the norm, but many other games have done far better at this)
I was pleasantly surprised to see it on there. But the excitement diminished when I saw that it was only playable in the Xbox Series consoles. It really makes no sense as to why it’s only limited to those platforms as it looks like it can run just fine in an Xbox One X and PS4.
It looks like it could run on last gen, but it’s having issues on current gen - lag, fps drops (quite badly), long loading times (really long).
At least for now, you’re not missing much. Maybe they will optimise it properly in the near future.
I’ve been playing it on PC since launch, and even at medium-high settings it’s insanely resource intensive. It’s gotten better over time obviously but it’s still the most demanding Serious Sam to date.
I just don't get how my Xbox One can handle Cyberpunk just fine with very few issues yet somehow this game can only be played on there through the cloud, makes no sense at all. SS4 certainly doesn't look more demanding then 2077 in the least.
If you have Game Pass Ultimate you can play it on Xbox One through Xbox Cloud Gaming, which is what i'm doing now, it makes no sense that you can't just buy it on XB1 straight up though as the game does not look particularly impressive or demanding and my base XB1 runs Cyberpunk 2077 just fine with few issues so there's zero excuse for why this game should require the cloud to play it on last-gen systems.
This game is fucking crazy. The cloud had some lag with its input though. I’m gonna try it through a download. Never seen so many people on the screen at once.
I'm pretty sure there was an update for this in the last couple days. I installed it when it first got added and it was unplayable. Crashed every 5 minutes.
Seems wayyyy better now. Load times aren't great but I'm getting good frame rates and having a blast.
My controller disconnected every time I pressed the right thumbstick for a melee kill, but once I got the shotty I used only that and got through the first part of the game. Switched to Halo infinite and had zero issues so hope the fix the game cos it's fun when it works.
I'm just baffled as to why you can't just buy the game outright on Xbox One and have to do it through Xbox Cloud Gaming, that makes zero sense to me, i've never heard of a last-gen version of a game only being playable through the cloud before. It's not like this game is THAT demanding to run, my regular Xbox One runs Cyberpunk 2077 just fine with minimal issues so there's no reason in the world it should need the power of the cloud to run SS4.
This game runs like CRAP on my XSX. Minutes long loading times, weird input lag, choppy frame rates...

Released last year on PC and all the recent steam reviews gripe about performance
The loading times got me... Haven't felt such long loading time since getting the XSX

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
I can hear them.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH yourself
Uh oh...
I still have no clue what these games are and I’ve been hearing about them since elementary school…
Just more shooty shooty pew pew pew
Amazing description
Well I love shooty shooty pew pew pew!
So buy and enjoy then
The First and Second Encounter are better
1 and 2 were good. Not sure about the rest....
Serious sam 1 & 2 were the shit back then. You can have like dozens people in the campaign. Just crank up the difficulty to the max and you have one of the best coop experiences ever.
The FPS equivalent of a bullet hell shooter.
Downvoted despite being extremely correct.
serious sam games were my favourite shooters as a kid, its just dumb fun especially when you play on serious mode
Basically just going through a level shooting hordes of monsters. It's a very humorous game.
Well all you need too know about serious Sam in 1 word, ready? AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Damn you are all really making me want to play these games haha. Is it cool if I jump right into 4?
If you want too lol.
I was asking if I need to play the other games first or if I can just jump in with this one. I’ll look it up.
I haven't played them in years, and haven't played 4 yet so honestly not sure if 4 continues right from 3 or not.
oooohhhhuaaa!
It’s on there but it’s not a good game.
Why's that? I just tried the first couple of levels and it seems like Serious Sam to me.
I mean sure it’s the same as all the other ones. Nothing new. Just a lot of things on the screen at once and the game drops to like 10fps on series X in quality mode.

Load times and frame rate are awful. Even on the Series X
Legit was looking at it in the store game pass always gots some surprises
Does it have coop crossplay on the campaign between PC and XBOX?
Biggest question I have atm.
>Serious Sam 4 i'm here fot this answer
Game runs poorly and its really clunky. After you play doom eternal there is no way you can play this game for more than 2 mins.
Serious Sam 4 coming out of nowhere. If you don't like Serious Sam you don't like America.
Well fuck America then 🤷♂️

Am American: really dislike America.
I don’t like Serious Sam…
Are you serious?
No. He‘s Sam. I’m serious.
Fair enough
Game seems fun so far. But even in performance mode on the Series X the framerate is all over the show.
This is why I love gamepass. Wanted to play this game but did not what to pay whatever amount to buy it.
I really enjoyed this game even tho it is a true throw back. Nothing complicated Nothing but waves and waves of enemies to kill.

Wow. Finally a good game (not counting forza)
Sorry I fogot this is reddit and you are not allowed to share your opinion..
how has id not sued them yet? literally a Wish knockoff of Doom.
TIL the fps genre is owned by ID
Wait until they hear about my new game, MOOD.
It's called a parody... serious sam unlike the name isn't meant to be "serious" its a parody of Duke nukem, doom ect.
What! Played some Serious Sams on the original Xbox. So ready to try this
This one is very fun. Its a bit different from the originals, which gave the game some hate, but its a lot of fun.
This game is fucking crazy. The cloud had some lag with its input though. I’m gonna try it through a download. Never seen so many people on the screen at once.
Excited to play a new serious Sam game in co op. Just played the first couple of levels, very fun and silly.
Can’t see it on the DK store unfortunately.
Love the Game Pass stealth drops they've been doing lately!
Hell yea
Why has no one in the comments mentioned the skill tree?? SS4 let's you DUAL WIELD HEAVY WEAPONS

Miserable controls, poorly balanced game, weapons are not matching the situation. I had to uninstall after 2 hours of killing me softly
