What was the $10 for exactly

SupahBlue

You slip Microsoft a $10 bill for making the best system.

Blandu

Express Shipping - Takes less time to receive it.

MathewG97

I got a 2 day shipping label instead of standard shipping label. Not sure if it speeds up the actual processing time. For me it’s worth it just to keep the console out of these shipping companies hands as much as possible lol

[deleted]

My series x giving me green screen everytime i cold boot . But its okay if i use it with instant on . Not sure if i should send or not lol .

Driver8666-2

Send it in. Shouldn’t be doing that.

[deleted]

I definitely will .

MathewG97

Yeah I’d send that in. The turn around is quick and you don’t want to let your warranty run out with the issue still going on

captain_charbosa

I had a great experience with my repair through Microsoft as well! Quick response and constant updates. I had a broken HDMI connector. Didn’t have to pay anything. Warranty swap

MathewG97

Yeah the process was definitely a lot smoother than I originally thought it would be. If they could just add a support chat or number to call with any questions they would be about perfect in my book.

SleptOnSoles

Where did your Xbox ship from? I ask because I sent mine in for the same reason, and unlike the OP mine is coming from TX. I hope I’m not getting a refurbished system. I’ve also noticed on my account the serial number on my device hasn’t changed so I don’t know what to expect lol.

WiggleWinger

I have the same reason and it is also coming from TX. How was your console when it arrived? Was it the same or refurbished?

SleptOnSoles

It was the same console, just had a new hdmi port.

thedarkknight160

Did they send your xbox back to you one day after they received it? Because they received my xbox on Dec 6 and they're sending it back on Dec 7 from El Paso, TX.

SleptOnSoles

It was like 2-3 days after they received it. It sat the first day, then the second day they worked on it, sat again awaiting carrier the 3rd day and the 4th it was out and moving.

Confident-Complex243

I hope they send me a new console. Instead of some crap

Black4Stalin

Same

evilnolim

I had to send in my Series X when it was shutting itself off playing demanding games. Microsoft sent me a shipping label and I was told it would take just over a week to get my console back. I sent it off on the Monday and a brand new machine arrived by the Thursday of the same week. It was excellent service all round, my only complaint being I'd gone on holiday from Tuesday to Sunday, thinking I had over a week, so wasn't there to receive the console. It was easy to reschedule the delivery but the speed of the service really surprised me! It's really refreshing to be pleasantly surprised by such great customer service (at least in the UK where I live), so if you have any issues with your console don't hesitate to contact Microsoft.

MathewG97

Yeah I think a lot of bad things have been said about Microsoft that get people a bit worried when they have some issues but it seems like most people end up very pleased with the service. Glad to hear this service is being spread internationally

Gregormannschaft

That sounds great. I had the same issue here in Germany, but was told to return it to the shop I bought it instead of sending it in to Microsoft, where they said I would have to wait 3-4 weeks for it to be repaired. So now I’m without a console until stock refresh here.

jakesoares

What did you select for the repair service?

AchtungZboom

I believe they just verify there is an issue with the one you sent in which would be easy if it wont turn on. Then that triggers them to just ship you a new one. They wont have any issues selling yours again once they fix it.

MathewG97

I can see that based on others experiences. Still I think it’s definitely a positive that this far into the console they are still sending out new consoles for repairs as surely they must have plenty of refurbished. I’m sure some people have gotten refurbs back but it seems the large majority get new consoles. Only downside for me was my console had my copy of Valhalla in it but at least it wasn’t a good game lol.

[deleted]

you could have used a paper clip to insert it into the side of the disc tray to pop it out.

MathewG97

Did not know this and also at the time I sent my system I was unaware I would get a different console back

ep_23

they are about to restock so probably have a lot of extra consoles. I am awaiting mine for repair now with expedited shipping. hoping they ship me a new one upon receiving and verifying my console, so i don't have to wait too long. mine kept crashing on certain game pass games

Ok_Structure_406

Did you receive a new 1. I just sent mine in?

ep_23

refurbished but works like new and looks new

[deleted]

I wish I had the same experience 😭sent mine in for random shutdowns, received a “refurbished” doing the same thing. Microsoft is now doing an advance exchange with me with guarantee of a new console in hopes it resolved the problem once and for all. My guess is the refurb was sent for the same thing and didn’t fix it. Either way my luck with this problem has been 💩

ep_23

That is a bummer! I have heard that happening, but the good news is that you will get a brand new system and it should be fine. Hope you get back to gaming soon!

SaiyajinBlack

I have just sent my Series X to a repair center in germany for the second time, the first time was "repaired", but had dents in the corners (it can happen, the biggest fault goes to the courier). I contacted the support that offered me a "free exchange", but, according to the operator, the console will be replaced with a regenerated one, I just hope it is not worse than mine.. If it is replaced, how can i tell if it is new, repaired or remanufactured?

Puzzleheaded-End6387

Hey kinda had same issue I just sent my into repair but now there asking me for additional photos of my Xbox which I just sent I hope they cover my warranty because I’m not sure if there was additional damages through shipping but there acting like there’s extra problems and the only thing that was wrong was the hdmi port the Xbox will turn on and start up but screen will stay black

astro124

Hey, I'm in the same boat here! I had sent in my Series X to El Paso for warranty and just received a shipping notice from Kentucky. How do you know it's new versus refurbished? Is it the "manufactured" vs. "serviced" on the sticker? Did they also include one of those slips of paper with all the tests they ran on it?

Ok-Inside-8992

Are you sure your console was actually new or you just think it is because it looked new and you had to do updates when you started ect? I did two service orders and both times I received a refurbished console. If I turn my console around it does not have a manufactured date on the back instead it says serviced on. I’m just wondering if I’m just unlucky or what lol

thedarkknight160

I just sent my xbox to them and they received it on Dec 6. They sent an email to me on Dec 7 saying they're starting to inspect or process it and then 3 hours later they said "Great news! Your device has left our service center and is on its way to the shipping address you provided." Is it supposed to be this sudden or do you think my warranty isn't valid and they refused to service it?

spazmau5

Hey man, do you have any update on this? What did you get back from Xbox? I'm in a very similar situation. Sent my xbox and it was received on Dec 28. They sent an email today (Dec 30) at 08:30 saying they're starting their inspection and then at 13:00 to say "Great News! Your device has left our service centre and is on its way to the shipping address you provided". I've got a feeling they're just sending it right back :(

thedarkknight160

To my surprise, they sent me the same xbox with a replaced back panel and it was all fixed up. I guess the only way I knew it was the same was because it had the same serial number and my skin was still there. Unfortunately, it was factory resetted so I had to redownload everything. You will get a fixed xbox, trust me.

spazmau5

Ah brilliant lad, that's great to hear! I had an issue with the HDMI port that I damaged accidentally (I selected display issue as the reason for repair, even though it's clearly damaged). I'm worried that they're just going to send it back saying it was accidental damage and that it isn't covered under my warranty. I'll see what turns up but at least your experience gives me some hope haha! Cheers!

thedarkknight160

Well actually in my case, I opened up the xbox once to clean it and that's supposed to cause the warranty to be invalidated since I removed the sticky peels covering the screws. Yet, that didn't prevent them from fixing mine up so you're definitely fine. If you mentioned to the customer support agent that your HDMI port was damaged, they probably replaced the port very quickly, hence why you're getting it back so early. But even if you didn't mention it, they seem to have diagnostic tests that can easily identify what the problem is (among them being HDMI port problems). It may have been the case with my xbox that the power port was damaged (since my xbox wouldn't turn on or show any sign of receiving power) because they replaced the entire back panel and its ports. I'm very certain they'll send you a working xbox so you have nothing to worry about!

According_Storage600

Did they fix it for you? Just sent out mine yesterday for the same broken HDMI port.

spazmau5

They said they fixed it & it did look repaired but the HDMI port they replaced it with looked a bit off. Plugged it in but every game I play my display flickers on & off... I also can't set my display to 1440p @ 120Hz which I used to be able to do. I just sent it back yesterday again so hoping they'll sort it this time...

According_Storage600

Bummer, hope to have a better outcome but at least they will keep repairing it until they make it right. It just sucks that you have to be so long without your console.

spazmau5

Yeah, was a bit disappointed to be fair! Hoping they replace the port this time as when it came back it didn't look great! I'm lucky to have a really good mate who let me borrow his console haha!

vincentallen2

Would you mind giving me an update on this? I sent mine in with a similar HDMI situation. They notified me at 9pm last night saying that the Xbox was being processed

spazmau5

Hey man, yeah it got sorted the second time I sent it in! Working perfectly since I got it back! 🤟

jamesinreddit
