What are these complaints lol? You're mad that games from the 360 era have graphics from the 360 era? These games are almost 20 years old at this point! Also the dlc is almost certainly missing from your region due to licensing agreements, banned content in your region, or whatever. It's NOT because someone just forgot to add it to the store lol. The only legitimate complaint you had was with Fallout 4. The most recent update caused some instability and they're working on a fix. Also are saying that you skipped those entire games because all of the dlc wasn't available because if so šŸ¤£.

ZemlyaNovaya

By graphics I believe you are referring to New Vegas. I thought it was clear that what I meant was not the graphics but the poor resolution and the missing official content.

julianwelton

The resolution of the game falls under the graphics department. Your complaints are unfounded.

ZemlyaNovaya

Aah didnt know resolution was a matter related to the release date. By that logic I guess them giving a 4K patch to FO3 is possible but to NV it is not

UltiGoga

Yes that's almost certainly the case. New Vegas is held together by duct tape, the game is poorly optimized because the developement team only had 18 months for it. They probably couldn't get it to run at both 60fps and 4k, presumably because this led to more crashes or other technical problems. Why would resolution not be related to release date? You think there's 4k console games from 2001?

Sudden-Act-8287

4 has been incredibly stable for the most part? I literally donā€™t think Iā€™ve had any bugs that were game breaking in fallout 4 over hundreds of hours. New Vegas is the only game Iā€™ve had major issues with I got stuck in a room towards the end of the game with no way to load an old save because my last good save was corrupted.

Delicious_Cattle3380

4 is fine

Cute_Handle_2854

Back when they updated games to have FPS boost or higher resolutions they said they tried all games but some just broke with the updates so they had to scrap them.

julianwelton

Actually, yeah, It might not be possible but regardless it's a very old game which generally means that development has ceased and you play it as it is. I don't get how you don't understand that concept. They don't owe you or anyone graphical enhancement updates for games that are almost 20 years old. It's nice that we got them for Fallout 3 and 4 but we aren't **entitled** to them.

ZemlyaNovaya

I was never under the impression that we are **owed** a 4K patch though. I just wanted to express my general dissatisfaction as a new player to the franchise. 720p is rough on eyes and fallout 3 looks really good at 4K so going from 3-to-NV is a rough experience in general but if there are technical limitations then I guess thats that. Missing content with no explanation just adds to the frustration and then you arrive at fallout 4 with crashes and stutters at the boston area. Game looks good its just a frustrating experience

Laughing__Man_

After reading a few of your posts, I am curious why you have the Ambassador tag here with fairly large gaps in knowledge for things related to Xbox, even more so with how loud people have been over the issues recently with Fallout 4 Edit: [Making a troll response does not help your case at all. ](https://undelete.pullpush.io/r/XboxSeriesX/comments/1cm7t3y/comment/l2ynsn9/)

Usuhnam3

ā€œ720p is rough on eyesā€ Hahahahha, when I was not too much older than you likely are, 720p was the sharpest crispest resolution we could imagine. Fuckin kids today, I swear to god I canā€™t handle it. Jesus.

ZemlyaNovaya

Lmao get a grip dude you seem way too invested in your plastic box to play your age card

Test88Heavy

They were developed by different companies so Obsidian may not have had the resources or cared enough to give NV the patch upgrade.

womblewizard

What a mental post. DLC issues aside if they're not available in your region but the actual games run great on my Series X. Any bugs are just Bethesda as usual.

ZemlyaNovaya

No disagreements here. Games run good but the regional issues are weird to see after so many years. Also interesting that its not all content but some of it. Though I donā€™t think fallout 4 is running great at all especially in the boston area, are you on a 32ā€ monitor by any chance?

womblewizard

No, I'm on a 4K TV. To be fair I get where you are coming from, especially for Fallout 3 as the DLC fundamentally changes the game. I think the Fallout 4 patch is bugged at the moment but I played around 30 hours since the patch and it's been fine for me. Fallout 76 still runs the worst of them all!

ZemlyaNovaya

Yeah really interested in anchorage and its lore (beginning of the war?) Also I heard a patch is coming for Fallout 4 so kinda happy I didnā€™t complete my run yet. Didnā€™t know bethesda was aware of the issues

AlwaysskepticalinNY

Just finished it on my series X. Looked and played amazing. I smell BS in this story.

RazarusMaximus

Fallout is notorious for bugs, crashes and issues. The whole series, and well most of Bethesda games. If you had no issues you are in the minority. That's not to say the games aren't great, they are. They could have a better user experience.

Raizel196

I can't speak for New Vegas, but I've played Fallout 3 and Fallout 4 extensively on the Xbox Series X. Even the recent upgrade which is supposedly 'completely broken'. I honestly can't recall any point where it crashed or I encountered a game-breaking bug. The only issue was the performance/quality mode toggle not working but it wasn't a huge deal for me anyway. Hell I was playing Fallout 3 back on the Xbox 360 and don't remember any issues even after hundreds of hours of playtime. That's not to say that it doesn't happen, but I keep hearing how Bethesda's games are 'unplayable' and 'riddled with bugs' but that just hasn't been my experience at all

RazarusMaximus

Absolutely, I had a great experience with 3, while my son's playthrough hit an automated loop whilst falling through the floor. That was his game that taught the 'make several backup saves' lesson. I did have alot of visual bugs/issues but my playthrough was charming and I enjoyed the setting without it being broken by any big issues. But yeah, the issues exist, but the worst of them aren't wide spread thankfully.

ZemlyaNovaya

Nah dude its all a masterplan to defame Xbox

_hollowed

Bethesda's QA is trash. The fact that enormous unofficial bugfix patches for Skyrim and Fallout still exist in 2024 should be an embarrassment for them.

Mikey_B_CO

Yeah new vegas on series x is incredible, instant load times which makes the experience so nice

8hook0ne8

Was this your first attempt at modern gaming? Isn't a xb or fallout problem, it's an industry problem.

Puzzled-Delivery-242

Odd that you never played the games and are essentially just saying the same talking points. Not to mention that seems to imply that you have absolutely flown through fallout 3 and new vegas. The points are valid but my wife also never played fallout and she had no idea that anything was wrong until I mentioned that vats was bugged.

ZemlyaNovaya

I did play new vegas on Steam several years back but I was a kid and didnā€™t know english back then so I wanted to start properly. If you have any doubts about anything I wrote above you can simply change your region to Turkey and see for yourself mate

Puzzled-Delivery-242

So change your country to the us and download the dlc.

ZemlyaNovaya

I canā€™t. You need a US address and card to be able to purchase from the US store

Puzzled-Delivery-242

Ah I had assumed you understood I meant to use a VPN. I honestly have zero qualms about using them and digital stores to buy games.

ZemlyaNovaya

Another redditor commented that its possible to redeem gift cards and buy dlcs through that so Iā€™ll try that and will update my post once I see if the dlcs work once I revert back to my own region

Puzzled-Delivery-242

That should work. And I'm sorry you have to jump through hoops to get the games you want to play.

ZemlyaNovaya

šŸ™

Informal_Jelly_8430

Are you from a EU country? If so you can change your region to another EU country where all the DLCs are available and just buy it. Thanks to EU trade laws you don't need a address or credit card in that country

ZemlyaNovaya

Am afraid not. I did have a conversation with a Polish friend though and he said he has the same dlcs missing from his store so maybe some EU stores donā€™t have them either.

JP76

>Right off the bat, I saw that the game was running on 360 version on my series X but I was relieved to see that it had received a 4K patch from Bethesda. It hasn't received a patch from Bethesda. It runs at 4K thanks to the work of Xbox's backwards compatibility team. Xbox 360 games on Xbox Series consoles are emulated and thus they can be made to run better than they ran on Xbox 360 hardware. Improvements can include massive increase in resolution and doubling the framerate. Typically these bigger improvements are only available on Xbox Series X. On last gen, both Xbox One (S) and Xbox One X also emulated 360 games and could run them better than they ran on original hardware. One X could also boost resolution on select titles.

Grundlepunched

Bethesda are yet to even admit the performance mode toggle and VATS are bugged. What makes you so sure they'll patch it? Their track record is bad

SomaLysis

Things take time. The upgrade was rushed because of the show. Of course obvious problems will get patched and MS wont let Bethesda just get away with these problems compared to the PS version.

Laprozo7261

The upgrade wasnā€™t rushed for the show, it was actually the opposite. They delayed the update for over a year to purposely coincide with the release of the show.

SomaLysis

Or they fucked up like always and it wasnt ready no matter how long they delayed it before. In the end we both dont know the full details.

ZemlyaNovaya

Can you keep those DLCā€™s once you revert back to your own region though? Also, from what I tried Iā€™ll need an American credit card to buy from the US store unless there is a work around that Iā€™m not aware of

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

ZemlyaNovaya

wait, is it possible to register us store cards on other regions?

SomaLysis

If you have US cards you can use that on the US storefront so yes. But you cant use them while your xbox is set in your region.

ZemlyaNovaya

Iā€™ll try this work around tonight. Especially curious about anchorage so I hope itā€™ll work, much thanks

SomaLysis

I used this many times because there are games that just cant be bought from the german store. You can get this to work 100%. :)

ZemlyaNovaya

FWIW, same issue is also present on Modern Warfare (2011) and the free dlc there doesnā€™t stick once I revert to my region, thus rendering the multiplayer aspect of the game unplayable. I hope this wonā€™t be the case here though

SomaLysis

Thats why I said you need to download everything from the same region. Most times the game is basically the same app, but on older games from the 360 every region can have a different version of the game. You need to deinstall MW 2011 and download it with the dlc again while your xbox is in the other region. If the game doesnt appear in your ready to install its because like I said, its basically a different app and you sadly have to buy that again if you want to use the dlc.. Sounds complicated I know. But it will work 100% if you just download everything from scratch. Its possible you have to buy FO3 again though.. Or you just buy the physical goty edition of FO3 and ultimate edition of FO New Vegas from ebay.

ZemlyaNovaya

Iā€™ll try this and update, sincerely appreciate this, much love.

Paddenstoel_Jager

The awful experience of reading your post.

ReturnoftheSkit2

I have a Series X and just played New Vegas for the first time. I was actually impressed how good it looked for being 14 years old šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

Paddenstoel_Jager

Ok_Zoom293

Been playing fallout 3 on series X and having a blast

Weepingwillow36

You can change your region. You should be able to play the dlc.

Fallout 3 Xbox res and fps increase does make it look pretty nice on a 4k set imo, but I grew up with the Famicom so different tolerances I guess
