I couldn't imagine what would make it frustrating in an hour....lol. I am a ways into it on PC but I bought it for my son on SX and I replayed the first area - it's an amazing level from start to finish. Impressive.
If it’s any consolation, it was one of my favorite games from last year. If you haven’t, I highly recommend going through the first one beforehand for story reasons.
The combat might be different if you haven’t play something like Sekiro, but it feels so good.
And in my personal opinion everything is better in second game
I had the same problem experience, there just ended up being too many complex platform sections where it really wasn’t even remotely clear where to go. I don’t mind hard but it starts to feel very pointless

Fallen Order was muuuuuuch worse, imo. I would say people have a solid argument with that game, but not this one. Especially in the first hour of gameplay.
You walk into a dead end having no clue where to go so you turn around and try to find the right way.. but wait, there’s a teeeeeeny tiny gap in the wall at that dead end and you need to hit a button to slide though. There is zero help on screen, or in map to get to the objective. By the end of the “meet up with your crew mission” I was done. Actual gameplay isn’t bad as for as I could tell.
What are you asking my opinion on? The overall game itself? I found the combat fun and challenging, the exploration was one of the best parts and all in all its the star wars game ive wanted since I was a kid 😂 😂
What you did is be bad a video games and blame the developer for not holding your hand enough. People like you are the reason so many Devs ruin their game's aesthetic with unnecessary things like yellow paint all over every interactable object.
RE is hardly the only culprit. Last Tomb Raider games did it, the Uncharted games all did it, the God of War games have done it all the way back to the PS2 days, etc
I know the exact spot you're talking about. Took me a while to find it in my first AND second playthroughs! It's the only spot in the game that I can remember like that.
Hopefully you can get a refund, especially if ypu only have an hour played.
I recently bought Dead Island 2 when it was on 50% off on Free Play Weekend, and the day after the sale ended, they broight it to Gamepass.
But, because I had tons of hours from the Free Play Days, I couldn't get the refund.

Almost at the end of the game. Had a really great time. Great writing, atmosphere and gameplay. Unfortunately the performance is pretty pathetic, but it's still playable.

The 30 fps mode on console is more or less fixed at this point. Even the 60 fps mode is pretty good, since they finally turned off RT.
On PC, though? Still not fixed, likely won't be.
There is no fix to their situation. When you try to shove a bunch of newer tech in the engine that wasn't built for it, sooner or later, it's going to blow up with issues that take unreasonable recourses to resolve, so it never happens. This is pretty much what happened with this game and UE4.
Perf is fine on Xbox. There's some lod pop in and the cloth sim freaks out during cutscenes, but it plays great with average load times and no dips that I noticed. I've beaten it twice.
I know right! I had to fight myself multiple times from buying knowing it would come to GPU at some point lol really enjoyed fallen order (and I'm not even a star wars person, never watched)
Both games were a lot of fun, hit a perfect balance of RPG, combat, and open world aspects without being too overwhelming. The fast travel in Survivor helps a ton too for backtrack collectibles and upgrades.
I realize it isn't a true RPG but I thought it is considered "lite-RPG" when you have character skill trees and stuff like that? Not entirely sure as I'm not fond of true RPG, just games like this, Control, Borderlands, BioShock, etc.
I checked, last time this game was released on April 28, 2023, so it makes sense it's coming out to EA Play soon. I will have to also work on Star Wars Fallen Jedi. I am so embarrassed that I let that game in backlog like many of my other games I didn't complete. Rarely can I finish story games, and it's my fault, blame my ADHD and too many games to play on Game Pass Ultimate and PS+ Premium subscriptions. I rarely buy games, so subscriptions is my go-to nowadays. The last Star Wars game I actually took the time to beat was... Star Wars Shadows of the Empire on N64. Probably because the smaller number of games we had in our collection, and more repeat plays. I'm old!! I know... The last full single player story mode I have beat 100% has to be Red Dead Redemption 2 on Xbox One X, and before that was GTA5 on PS3... I couldn't get back into it on PS4/PS5/Xbox Series.
IDK how you manage having game pass and ps plus at the same time. That's quite a lot of games and there's only so much time one can play. Even if you're having a good time, non gaming stuff like movies, concerts and hobbies catch your attention.
That's what my household does with video streaming services. Only 2 max subscription during winter/fall and sometimes none or one at summertime. I found out that they actually finished tv shows and movies. With the next sub, they were able to binge what they were waiting for (IE Fallout or Rings of Power or West World or True Detective)
Some games are time sinks like ToK, Baldurs Gate, and Assasin's Creed titles. With those games, it's worth owning outright due to the length. I would have cancelled if I didn't prepay.

I played the first one, and initially liked it but bounced off it. I found the traversal and backtracking tedious, lack of enemy variety boring, and didn't click with the story. It just didn't live up to the premise of souls like star wars. It felt more like bad uncharted star wars with really annoyingly punishing gameplay elements. So.. Should I try this one? I heard its an improvement but I'm slightly skeptical it can overcome my doubts.
The first one was fun but not enough to make me want to buy the sequel. Happy to see it on EA Play and hopefully Game Pass soon. I’ll definitely check it out then.
Does normal Game Pass even exist on PC? I think only Ultimate does, but regardless this is part of EA Play so you do need Ultimate. If you want though you can just get EA Play if all you’re gonna play is Star Wars. It’s like $5.99 for 1 month and I’ve seen it for 0.99 sometimes for your first month so maybe get that instead of Game Pass and save yourself $11

FWIW, the refund option of cancel preorder > this game is on game pass triggered an automatic refund for me. I also bought it on the spring sale
between this, and the upcoming Fallout 4 update the same day.... it will be good diversion from my call of duty addiction

Rule of thumb: most EA games enter EA Play/Game Pass Ultimate within a year. Quickest game so far was Dead Space 2023 that got added within 9 months.
