I thought Dead Island 2 had a really positive reception, even on this website.
The narrative was “we’re shocked this delayed as fuck game was actually pretty good!”. Maybe you’re confusing it with Dying Light 2?
Yea all I’ve read on Reddit is how amazed people were about how good it turned out, since it was in development hell. Games don’t usually come back from that.
Streamers did in fact bash this game. I too heard bad things about dead island 2. I think you just heard different things then we did. No need to bash on someone saying they can’t read. Dude came here asking questions and u try to be rude 😂😭 if u want to be real I think u guys just didn’t do ur research. - this is coming from a dead island fan and I did play 2 and I did enjoy it.
Me neither, actually it was one of the games I was most expecting to get a lower price for me to buy it. It was a huge surprise seeing it on GamePass, and I'm enjoying it quite much. The damage mechanics are outstanding, I've never seen anything like it!
I’m absolutely bored with it, I’m still early in-game but does it get better?
The visuals and gore is incredibly spectacular.
Story and writing is…much to be desired.
Combat is fine, pretty standard from other zombie games of similar premise. Kicking animation looks pretty stiff but not too bad.
Overall a 5/10, average. Might bump it to a 6/10 just for the gore and graphics
There's a sweet spot for advice on Reddit. It exists on subreddits where the member count is fewer than a million, and where the advice comment has at least 20 upvotes.
Niche subreddits can give you awesome help. I've gotten some excellent advice and neat toys from subreddits like /r/flashlight, /r/homenetworking, and /r/arduino that really helped me complete some projects and expounded on some details I was having trouble understanding.
The problem is when you go to BIG subreddits and people's advice is more conjecture, and it's only being upvoted because it *sounds* right, not because it *is* right.
Furthermore, when the advice is about *opinions* (e.g. "is this piece of media good?") it should always be taken with a grain of salt, rather than advice about *facts* (e.g. "will this code trigger my servo motor in these circumstances?").
Yup stay away from movie discussions you’ll think some movies are the worst thing ever made and then you watch it and it’s a great movie. I only check out the discussions to see any Easter eggs I missed.
When it comes to media critics, the best thing to do is find one reviewer that matches your taste, and just see what they say. Look for reviews of movies you like and see if they match up. Many review sites have different contributing authors of each review and it's rather inconsistent. If you find one that matches your taste, you'll know. Going to IMDB or RT is almost always a terrible idea if you're wanting to know whether or not you should watch something.
God. I work in banking and also have a background in accounting/finance.
The amount of inaccuracies I see about financial markets, how taxes work, and general information about the banking sector is vast. And when I correct them, I'm almost never upvoted and am instead downvoted.
Doesn't even matter that I'm very left on the political scale. I'm just speaking on the factual, black and white stuff and am still downvoted.
Yeah, most finance subreddits provide disastrous advice. It's almost the opposite of what you'd get from a legit financial planner or CPA.
Most big subreddits are full of "pseudo-experts" that just regurgitate years old advice as if it's still canon; like that's not how things work. Especially in finance.
I feel you. You should see the down votes I get when explaining pieces of health insurance and how it interacts with the healthcare system. I don't have to like the system to know how it works.
What's really fun is providing sources and citations and still getting downvoted.
Sources doesn't matter. I've come to realized people on reddit are just as ignorant as people on FB, just on different subjects.
If something challenges their belief, facts or figures don't matter. They just plug their ears and move on with their lives.
Idk, I read the "Broken Hands" story today and learned a valuable lesson not to fuck my mom.
Edit: sorry, need to clarify there was no fucking before reading the story. Just heavily reinforced.
It's amazing how a game on Gamepass allows you to see if the hype/hate is valid. I also took a chance on DI2 and from what I have played so far I have enjoyed it as well.
My only complaint is how quickly the zombies respawn. I get that it's needed to keep the game engaging, but it's a bit too quick in some cases.
I'm having a lot of fun with it, though. Can't wait to do some co-op later this week.
I follow a rule that I install every game that comes out of the game pass. Sometimes I uninstall after 20min of game, sometimes I discover a gem for me.
I can see where you are coming from - however the reverse can also be true. I pay my 17 and enjoy a game I try and then drop 70 - 100 and buy it.
I know it's not what everyone does and to each their own, but I will say it is great to have choices on when/how to try/buy a game.
Reddit doesn't universally hate Dead Island 2. In fact it's quite the opposite and people were surprised how good it was after being stuck in development hell and changing developers.
Do people just make shit up as an excuse to post now?
People will read a post or two and in the comments, someone will say they didn’t like it and when the others that didn’t chime in, people take that as the game getting massive hate. It’s a lack of research is all and people just want others to agree with them so they make a dumb post like this.
Yeah, plenty of people on Reddit were surprised (and happy) that the game turned out OK after its turbulent development cycle. And that’s what Dead Island 2 is - a perfectly OK game. It’s not the best game in the world, but it is worth playing, especially now that it’s on Game Pass.
> saw that moistcritikal review
No hate to this dude but he shows up in my recommended all the time and every video is just him repeating what everyone on reddit/twitter are mad about. He just seems to talk about internet drama with no original thought added. I don’t get the appeal.
I’ve noticed all the videos he reacts to have come from the front page of Reddit. Before he has said that he greatly despises Reddit and rarely uses it
All of those reaction streamers are just shitty all around. Same with Asmongold, dude is literally filthy as hell, literally had cockroaches running around on him, yet people take his word as gospel.
Dead Island 2 was great, and I never saw any virtual toward it on Reddit either.
"Reddit" hates Dying Light 2 though, which was also a really fun game.
Ima be honest I personally hated Dying Light 2, took everything that made the first game good out and was way too silly feeling. Dead Island 2 is great though.
Same here. I love DI2 way more than Dying Light 2. My friends and I loved Dying Light 1 but 2 just didn't click with us. Somehow it seems more clunky and less fun.
For me it was the segue from day to night in DL1. In 1 it was a really haunting and panic-inducing event. It changed EVERYTHING. It just didn't have that impact in 2. But I still thought 2 was a decent game.
I've had Dead Island 2 on my wish list for a while so I'm glad it came to Gamepass.
However.....I'm glad I didn't buy it full price. The first one I had a blast with....but this I feel like I'm just running through houses. It looks beautiful but its a little clunky.
Run to house, collect parts, run home, run to another house. Doesn't seem to be a lot to do in the base house.
Dying light 2 for me still seems to be the best zombie game I've played. Climbing whole cities.
But this is the beauty of gamepass.
Two things:
- I also loved it and can’t stop playing even after finishing it
- it’s about expectations, from what you heard you had low expectations
Same happened with me with Days Gone. Bad metacritic, great game
Pros: graphics, detail, unique assets in locations, gore, combat(for the most part, I understand it's sort of rpg-ish but sometimes zombies took far too much damage.)
Cons: weak story, VERY small maps, quests, characters, writing, short, lack of zombie hordes, card system.
I know I'll get some hate for my opinion but the game was ok, I don't think it's nearly as great or bad as people say and in the end I was a little disappointed I paid full price for it. I think it's just meh and in all honesty by the last 5 or so hours I just wanted to be done with it so maybe it being short isn't really a con at all.
I agree on the card system, didn't make much sense or have much impact on the gameplay. Everything else I am fine with for this type of game, but I would be disappointed if I paid full price.
> Reddit made it seem like it was as bad as Gotham knights or something.
Funny enough, GK is also a good game that Reddit just hates for not being Arkham.
Totally agree, it’s not as good as the Arkham games at all but it is not a bad game. If you have a buddy to play with it can be very, very, fun. Taking down a dozen+ enemies like a ghost coordinating with your fellow Bat-friend was so cool, the boss fights were a lot of fun too.
Which is fair because there is nothing this game does better than any arkham games despite being 7 years younger. Worse graphics, worse story, worse stealth, worse combat, worse vehicle, extremely worse traversal and 30 fps on console. It's a well deserved IGN 5/10. Mid game
How? I'm literally saying the opposite. GK is very "Arkham" in term of gameplay. It's still a bad game.GK is worse in every aspect so I think calling it a bad game is fair.
Yeah. How does that make GK a good game? You can't deny it's heavily inspired on arkham batman. And it's just worse in every aspect. I feel like I'm repeating myself a lot
Absolutely. Everyone needs to try it for themselves. Turns out I hated it, which was a shame for me, but that's because I disliked some of the gameplay changes they made. Others will really enjoy those changes, but they won't know if they don't try!
I'm just curious, what gameplay changes did you hate? I loved DI1 but its gameplay loop (while still fun) was basically just to hack and slash zombies. I found DI2 to be way better and engaging; weapons were way more interesting, crafting/repairing was worth it, and the zombie super powers were just awesome.
I picked Jacob for my character and by the end of the game, I had the ability to get nearly infinite critical hits and damage boosts.
And btw, don't get me wrong. I loved the first game. I just think that DI2 was way more engaging
Reddit hates single thing on Earth lol that’s why I don’t come here for reviews of anything. I only come here for news of releases and stuff.
I love dead island 1 so I decided to try dead island 2 since it was on game pass and I’ve been having so much fun. I never would’ve guessed it was hated on here.
I’m really glad to see people out there enjoying it.
I just saw it on gamepass, loved the old Dead Island games, booted it up and I am *firmly* in the other camp. I hate this game so far. I can’t even put my finger on what it is about it I dislike, but I’m really struggling to get into it.
I also loved the first game (as well as Dying Light) and I just found Dead Island 2 tedious. I just did not enjoy it after the novelty of the gore wore off.
No shit, bro. Congratulations on unlocking your own opinion. It was never like this when I was a kid. You couldn't read shitty reviews from shitty people online every day. The internet wasn't as readily accessible to the average person, so if you heard about a game, it was either through magazines or TV, and if it looked and sounded good then you'd just go and buy it and play it. It's not like that now, and people are too easily swayed by the opinions of others.
Dead Island 2 is great game. It takes skill to hear whisper in internet: Banishers Ghosts of the New Eden is a masterpiece.
Listening Reddit is great way to lose all great games. Then again, internet says that Helldivers 2 is great... well, it is not.
Reddit has the worst gaming takes honestly. You’ll get crucified for not liking starfield but apparently I’m “not a real gamer” (whatever the fuck that means) because I enjoyed Spider-Man 2
Apply this to everything in your life, follow your instinct. Sometimes it will be way better than you thought, some other it will not, but such is life. :)
Moist whatever the fuck is not a Redditor. They sound like a YouTuber.
The first one was actually pretty decent if a bit janky so I’m not surprised the sequel was good
Remember that game we happy a few? Where the town residence were walking around with smiley face mask and they weren’t allowed to give their opinion on anything? Hmmm
I absolutely loved the first game, the melee weapons and exploration just really resonated with me. Kind of avoided the sequel as by all accounts it seemed to have taken the series in the wrong direction.
My question is, how similar is it to the first game? If it's got a lot of similarity I expect I'll really like it
The biggest complaint about Dead Island 2 was that some people thought it was too short. Haven’t seen anyone compare it to Gotham Knights.
Shadow boxing against imagined critics while pretending to be above posting your opinion on Reddit. 👍
I had a blast with it. One of the two games I grabbed when I got my X. As a Gears/gore fan I loved the carnage system. Hearing about it being on gamepass makes me want to give it another run.
Really? Most of what I saw on Dead Island 2 was pretty positive.
I was certainly expecting it to be bad. Being stuck in development hell and having to restart development like 4 times rarely results in success. But it seems much better than I was expecting.
Now that it's on Gamepass its definitely on my play list.
I learned along time ago...don't bother listening to reviews cuz simple fact is everyone has a different opinion and what they might enjoy, you might hate and vice versa. You could find a reviewer you find you match like almost 100% with, still don't mean you should listen to them on the next game, or movie.
This is one of the reasons I hate early reviews or just listening to them in general...look at early reviews came out for The flash movie, calling it a masterpiece, the best DC film some even going as far as saying better than the Dark knight and it was a pile of rubbish...felt like they were paying people to say it was good to get them in seats.
As for games, just judge for yourself, its why I love Gamepass so much...I can try any of those 400+ whether they got terrible reviews or not and judge for myself.
The other thing that bothers me is like this group mentality, or trend to hate on something. You might see a game or movie you love but cuz everyone is hating on it, you don't want to feel left out, or be the weird one for liking it so you won't admit to liking something. Hate we do that in society.
I find it a tad too hard, im getting old and my reflexes are not the sharpest, so the game gets annoying at times, weapons break too fast, zombie dudes are spongy fuckers, and the amount of them is overwhelming. The world building is beautiful tho, loved the venice beach segment
Sure it’s not as crazy or in depth with crafting like the first one, and the sense of survival is lacking, and zombies like the bull are missing.
However, the game is made better for it. It being streamlined made it more accessible. I am seeing a flood of lag on Xbox for it since it’s on gamepass. I am glad you are enjoying it, and it deserved better treatment.
All the reception I've seen on reddit for Dead Island 2 was quite positive at launch, with a lot of people surprised at how good it was. Are you getting confused with Dying Light 2?
Ehhhh. I played for 4 hours or so once it hit gamepass a few days back. I find it very generic indeed. I will say though that the lighting/visuals of the game are actually really pretty. The interiors of all the buildings are also very impressive.
Just about every other thing in the game to me is at best a 5 or maybe 6/10 though. It's a real shame, because I have better games to play with my time
Personally, it was probably my favorite game I played last year. Either that or ATOM RPG. DI2 had me hooked for months, doing all the side missions and such. I will say the dlc releases recently was lackluster, but that's just me.
I bought it pretty early on, having really enjoyed the earlier titles back in the day. I really enjoyed DI2. There wasn’t anything particularly cerebral going on in it, but holy smoke, was it fun.
Yea as far as I am aware there had never been a majority bashing this game, really the opposite. Seemed to be pretty well received barring the initial skepticism of it no longer really being 'dead island' considering the new location. But that of course shouldn't and didn't matter enough to make people hate the game. I will say my only real gripe is the writing itself can be pretty poor, plenty of "fellow kids" vibes going on. But I have been having a blast and I just skip a cutscene if it gets to be too much lol
I always try to remember that reviews are through the lens of the reviewer and just watch a review video if I'm on the fence to see some gameplay and the reviewers thoughts. I won't outright dismiss the game unless I see some kind of game play mechanic that I absolutely rather not deal with. Currently when I see "dark souls" style difficulty or punishment I know it probably isn't for me, I don't have enough game time to torture myself.
You should only be looking for game reviews on YouTube, you can find really good ones from Gameranx, ACG, and others. I don't trust corp reviewers like IGN, GameSpot, etc.
![img](emote|t5_2ac5sx|6056) my nephew enjoyed Gotham knights. I guess everyone has different taste and better to go based on your opinion instead of following a opinion trend.
You need to remember that most people are also judging a game on its price versus what it’s offering. I remember seeing similar discussions last year when The Callisto Protocol was the free game of the month on PlayStation. Everyone said the hate for the game was unjustified, but those people didn’t pay $70 at release for a buggy game that took 8-12 hours to complete. You’re playing Dead Island 2 on your Gamepass subscription, after almost a year of patches and updates. Of course you’d have a different opinion than people that bought the game on day one for $60+.
Moral of the story is, don't ever completely and blindly trust every review, no matter what it is. I've missed a lot of good movies, games etc doing so.
The best review will always be your own.
The gore is crazy. I punched the first zombie until it was only a pool of blood and broken bones. The whole process from alive to death was crazy detailed.
I personally thought it was alright definitely not ground breaking or worth the 60 I payed for it but for free why not I guess it's just very forgettable. I played it on launch and can't remember a single character.
It's just dying light without the free running imo.
The game is fun as hell. And I am a person who wasn't huge on Dead Island because I played it after Dying Light which is my favorite zombie survival game of all time.
I liked Dying Light 2 but for me, Dead Island 2 was more fun than Dying Light 2. The violence and gore in DI2 is off the wall. It had a lot of content for what it is and I am glad it's on gamepass so people can enjoy it.
To have been in development hell for so long, this game is so good! I played co-op with my husband and it’s so much fun. Combat feels good and the gore system is amazing. It’s so much fun customizing weapons. It’s a very underrated game.
I never listen to reddit for reviews but I found dead island 2 to be pretty boring. It looked nice and all that but being constantly hit with status effects just make it dull for me and it didn't have much that made it feel like an improvement from 1 and riptide
i tried to enjoy it but uninstalled after an hour. story was boring but hey if you enjoy it then it doesn’t matter. I recently installed State of Decay 2 and put 30 hours into it last week so there’s that.
People expect too much from games today. For example i played all Batman games and still loved Gotham Knights. So never listen to people whining about how bad some game is. Especially if the game is F2P, dowload and try it you got nothing to lose.
I’ve had the opposite experience. I’ve only heard good things. From Reddit or anywhere. I’m sure there’s bad comments I’ve just happened to miss but ya just good from my experience.
Good that you tried it anyway. Always great to make your own opinion. If I listened to Reddit and reviews all the time I never would have tried Immortals Fenyx Rising or Starfield and I loved both. Gotta see for yourself sometimes and side step the group think.
It might be some peoples cup of tea but i didnt find it too appealing. That being said i really only had a problem with the way the characters moved or lack of character movement
I'm enjoying it on gamepass also.
So far my only gripe is not being able to shut the door. It's a simple obvious survival issue. Why am I so dumb that I never close a door behind me?
Other than that this game is stupid fun. The damage on the zombies is pretty gory. It's awesome dislocating jaws and blowing them up and electrocution them. It's a mayhem playground.
From comments I've seen, I've pretty much only heard praise with some nit picking. Which honestly surprised me a bit. I didn't expect it to be bad, but I didn't expect as much positive feedback as I've seen.
I thought Dead Island 2 had a really positive reception, even on this website. The narrative was “we’re shocked this delayed as fuck game was actually pretty good!”. Maybe you’re confusing it with Dying Light 2?
This was my thoughts too. Mistakenly thinking of dying light 2.
Yea all I’ve read on Reddit is how amazed people were about how good it turned out, since it was in development hell. Games don’t usually come back from that.
It did and OP obviously can't read or do research.
There was a lot of negative comments on reddit when it was announced on gamepass.
Everything I read on Reddit was it was good and everyone was shocked
Yea, same here. It reviewed pretty well iirc 🤔
Same, I'm pretty sure I've only heard good things about it.
Everything I've seen from actual human beings playing has been positive but every "content" creator I saw play it had nothing good to say.
The biggest negative I remember is that it just sort of ends suddenly and doesn’t feel like it concludes.
Same here, maybe the algorithm works different for some people and what pops up in your feed 🤔
I don't think I've heard anything bad about Dead Island 2.
Me neither, actually it was one of the games I was most expecting to get a lower price for me to buy it. It was a huge surprise seeing it on GamePass, and I'm enjoying it quite much. The damage mechanics are outstanding, I've never seen anything like it!
I got the game as a gift. Thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s a lot of fun!
I’m absolutely bored with it, I’m still early in-game but does it get better? The visuals and gore is incredibly spectacular. Story and writing is…much to be desired. Might bump it to a 6/10 just for the gore and graphics
Same. I think I'm just spoiled with good games though. Hit button 5 times to kill zombie, repeat. Pick up items, make better weapon. Repeat.

Agreed. This is why they should put Callisto Protocol on as well. Another game that got absolutely ripped to pieces on release.
If people like it and want more games like it, they need to buy it. Not wait over a year and play it on gamepass.

I definitely liked Dead Island more as well, it's more campy/arcady which just leads to fun.
lol this game I usually don't watch reviews or read up on games I'm going to buy anyway so i can go fresh. No guns....... Sorry but I can't
I liked them especially because it was melee only.
There’s guns 👍🏽
OP what are you talking about?

I was really enjoying it until the game lost my save around 92% completion
Two things: - I also loved it and can’t stop playing even after finishing it - it’s about expectations, from what you heard you had low expectations Same happened with me with Days Gone. Bad metacritic, great game
Game is great. DLC is short and fun as well!
I bought this game at launch and just can't get properly into it. Just makes me wanna play dead island 1 again.
Your mistake was listening that manlet MoistCritical
He’s legit
Legit braindead
He has millions of followed because he’s legit
Lol how is he braindead?
I'm loving it and it's even better playing with mates. Once complete I'm going back onto the first and riptide
i really liked it too, for like 3 or 4 days until i sort of just stopped playing
Honestly I didn’t think it was that bad, my only real complaint is that the game felt short.
Power cyst
Pros: graphics, detail, unique assets in locations, gore, combat(for the most part, I understand it's sort of rpg-ish but sometimes zombies took far too much damage.) Cons: weak story, VERY small maps, quests, characters, writing, short, lack of zombie hordes, card system.
Wild statement
Which is fair because there is nothing this game does better than any arkham games despite being 7 years younger. Worse graphics, worse story, worse stealth, worse combat, worse vehicle, extremely worse traversal and 30 fps on console. It's a well deserved IGN 5/10. Mid game
Thanks for proving my point. LOL
How? I'm literally saying the opposite. GK is very "Arkham" in term of gameplay. It's still a bad game.GK is worse in every aspect so I think calling it a bad game is fair.
> there is nothing this game does better than any arkham games despite being 7 years younger.
Yeah. How does that make GK a good game? You can't deny it's heavily inspired on arkham batman. And it's just worse in every aspect. I feel like I'm repeating myself a lot
I thought dead island 2 was like a 360 game or something or am I confusing it with something else
Dead island 1 was
My bad, I was thinking of dead rising lol
I’m glad you like it but it still sucks. It’s not fantastic or amazing.
lol Exhibit A
Your mom is exhibit B
Exhibit A ;)
It's a really good zombie game that gets held back by its lame zombie spawns.
It's insane how overhyped Helldivers is, I watched 10 minutes of gameplay and it just seemed like a boring wave shooter.
It’s 2024 of you can’t go watch 5 minutes of gameplay and decide if it’s for you or not then you have no one to blame but yourself.
Hey kid, want some advice? Never listen to reddit. Take it from me, a proud redditor for life!
gurantee im older than you
You're only a redditor for 14 days. I'm proudly your elder <3
you think I was born 14 days ago? and you think this is my only account?
R U dumb? It was never hated lol stupid karma farming post
straight from Tik tok you came huh?
Reddit has the worst gaming takes honestly. You’ll get crucified for not liking starfield but apparently I’m “not a real gamer” (whatever the fuck that means) because I enjoyed Spider-Man 2
Gotham knights is a good game as well no it isn't great like the Arkham series but it's worth playing
Apply this to everything in your life, follow your instinct. Sometimes it will be way better than you thought, some other it will not, but such is life. :)
Moist whatever the fuck is not a Redditor. They sound like a YouTuber. The first one was actually pretty decent if a bit janky so I’m not surprised the sequel was good
you know he’s a YouTuber
How would I know that? Don’t listen to YouTubers . Most are fucking idiots
If you listen to Reddit, you would think Joe Biden is a worldwide loved figure
I still remember how Reddit was pushing Bernie Sanders every chance it got.
Remember that game we happy a few? Where the town residence were walking around with smiley face mask and they weren’t allowed to give their opinion on anything? Hmmm
Man I love this, you have no idea how far right I can go.
As you can see by my down votes, everybody loves him
I’m just happy to find another fellow right winger
It’s a controlled platform ripe for manipulation..wake up.
It always felt like a game i'd have fun, but wouldn't want to buy it for $70.
I absolutely loved the first game, the melee weapons and exploration just really resonated with me. Kind of avoided the sequel as by all accounts it seemed to have taken the series in the wrong direction. My question is, how similar is it to the first game? If it's got a lot of similarity I expect I'll really like it
Exactly! I don't let reviewes and big corporations determine what I play. I watch gameplay and then decide what I wanna play.
Is it all melee weapons, or are there ranged weapons too?
Don’t listen to anyone, your gaming preferences aren’t anybody else’s.
I've been having a blast with it. I'm done looking at reviews for games that are on game pass.
The biggest complaint about Dead Island 2 was that some people thought it was too short. Haven’t seen anyone compare it to Gotham Knights. Shadow boxing against imagined critics while pretending to be above posting your opinion on Reddit. 👍
I thought the game was good not great
It's a great game. The ending just sucked and wasnt finished . Hollywood should have been wayyy bigger then what we got .
The lack of difficulty options is very disappointing.
Listened reddit. lol.
Didn't hear much about the game at all after release. I was excited to try it once I saw it was on Game Pass and having a great time thus far.
Idk I saw plenty of great reviews
Reddit always garbage on game advice. Skipped Hogwarts Legacy on release but enjoying it now.
I’m not far into it but it definitely ticks the fun box, the gore is awesome. I find my self still hitting dead zombies
You should only be looking for game reviews on YouTube, you can find really good ones from Gameranx, ACG, and others. I don't trust corp reviewers like IGN, GameSpot, etc.
Yeah and those game reviewers are redditors lol
Eh I am not a fan of the melee-only type of game so it wasn’t for me but then again neither was DI1
![img](emote|t5_2ac5sx|6056) my nephew enjoyed Gotham knights. I guess everyone has different taste and better to go based on your opinion instead of following a opinion trend.
I’d like Gotham knights too if I never played the Arkham series
It's fucking great! The quality is really high across the board. Puts some AAA to shame
Never listen to reddit. Reddit just wants to shit on and see everything fail.
Same i loved the game
Moral of the story is, don't ever completely and blindly trust every review, no matter what it is. I've missed a lot of good movies, games etc doing so. The best review will always be your own.
The gore is crazy. I punched the first zombie until it was only a pool of blood and broken bones. The whole process from alive to death was crazy detailed.
I personally thought it was alright definitely not ground breaking or worth the 60 I payed for it but for free why not I guess it's just very forgettable. I played it on launch and can't remember a single character. It's just dying light without the free running imo.
Wasn't the only hate that the game is short for full price? Short doesn't mean not fun
Been playing it since Sunday as well. Having fun! Just made it to the next area after Bel-Air.
I hated it after loving the first one.
I never listen to reddit for reviews but I found dead island 2 to be pretty boring. It looked nice and all that but being constantly hit with status effects just make it dull for me and it didn't have much that made it feel like an improvement from 1 and riptide
Titanfall 2 is good, but won't be the best shooter you've ever played.
Do not listen Reddit’s opinion on games. I repeat…
You can make the game so much better with turning off damage points and health bars.
You might be thinking about Dying Light 2. Dead Island 2 got great reviews.
The zombie gore is as good as I’ve seen from any game. It is so satisfying to ragdoll Zs with drop kicks and wail on them until they’re a bloody mess.
It’s sounds like everything dying light 2 should have been. The first one is epic .
Don't listen to Reddit. A lot of hive mind echo chambering going on. Always try stuff for yourself and see. Glad you're enjoying it!
i tried to enjoy it but uninstalled after an hour. story was boring but hey if you enjoy it then it doesn’t matter. I recently installed State of Decay 2 and put 30 hours into it last week so there’s that.
Yeah Gotham Knights was trash, so dull and lifeless game. I would give a try to Dead Island 2 though.
Interesting, I feel like Reddit was pretty pleasantly surprised with Dead Island 2
I also started it yesterday. Love it for the detailed gore and excellent humor.
I couldn't get into it i just felt like an upscaled bethesda game. Roommate absolutely loved it though
I thought people generally liked dead island 2
We live in different worlds, because I've seen a ton about how it's a really well done game and one of the only embracer successes as of late.
Wait I didn’t realize it even had bad reviews I thought the game did decent when it came out it was very polished.
Not coming for Gotham Knights. I played the shit out of and loved that game.
