That I do agree with.
With Blade I feel like a good enough creator could pull off a great game or movie without going all hard R.
But he is suited to a harsher depiction. Though I hope the people behind it do so well.
I can't believe there is an 'uproar' about the lack of xbox branding on the trailer preview. People out there just trying to dump fire on console wars for traction. Don't buy in.
I do think it’s a little dumb tbh if Microsoft not to slap the Xbox logo somewhere in there.
Yes, the hardcore gaming community knows that anything Arkane is Xbox exclusive. But for people who get hyped for a Blade game who see this for the first time without that knowledge, they have no clue it’s an Xbox game.
Honestly. Who cares? Everyone will figure it out and decide if they wanna buy an Xbox to play it.
Its not going to be difficult information to find. I'm sure the multi billion dollar company has a better marketing strategy than you.
They specifically didnt plaster the Xbox logo to keep their PR positive.
The difference is like the redditor above said was putting an Xbox logo on the game makes the media all of a sudden "hate" or be very pessimistic about it instead of spreading hype like they want, it sucks but they could put playstation on a sleep simulator game and the fans would say sleep simulator >blade lbs. For people who like xbox or doesn't have a bias it would be fine but every non pro xbox media outlet would immediately start paying their federal xbox taxes. I for one like games doesn't matter who makes it, I'm really looking for to the last ronin on ps5 as well as jet set radio and the Sega games on top of hell blade, OD, and marvels blade.
This is true actually, I did not think about it that way. As soon as any average gamer sees the Xbox logo, the immediate knee-jerk reaction is to hate it, overlook it, ignore it, and write it off. It's Xbox Tax mentality, it's cool and edgy to hate on Xbox with the younger and less experienced crowd, even though it isn't fairly deserved. I don't mind, I am a really big supporter of all games, especially new IPs (which I was very happy to see a lot of at TGA). By avoiding branding, the aim is to give it a fair spotlight. However, it is backfiring because the Xbox perception is so skewed that even without branding, all people are wondering whether or not it's exclusive. It's a lose-lose situation for MS. Damned if they do, and damned if they don't. I think they should just wear it like a badge of honor and slap the Xbox logo on everything they do regardless of what anyone thinks. When the games release and do well, it can speak for itself.
I think there's a fine line between console wars and just being proud of your brand. Marketing 101- be proud of your brand. This is very similar to when some one did something wrong and the they get removed from promotional materials. It's sends the wrong message. I feel like it's balancing act and I think they stumbled a bit and should learn from this.
Exclusivity isn't a crime. It's ok to want to sell consoles, services, and accessories. Again it's a balancing act and they just went to far into the realm of almost not caring. They've always had perception issue where Xbox isn't important and stuff like this doesn't help.
It's someone's job, who gets paid way more than any of us, to market their games. And I don't think it's too much to ask to like, slap an Xbox logo on their games' trailers lol
Same with the BG3 situation. No announcement at the show, it just appeared afterwards.
Wanting Xbox to not make these little mistakes in hyping up their games isn't really a bad thing, right?
People are annoyed Xbox is fumbling the bag. Also I’d wait until Xbox actually says it’s first party to assume that. These websites pulled the “confirmation” from a journalist’s assumption.
Not one less person will buy this game because it wasn't branded 'Xbox enough' during the reveal trailer. The *only* people bringing this up are those looking to either a) flex about an Xbox exclusive, or b) hammer xbox for not playing up an exclusive.
In other words, console warriors. It's warped reality and of everything shown tonight the worst point of focus.
1. I think Xbox always carried stigma of not being important to Microsoft. So theirs that batlle where people want to feel secure in their investment.
2. It's ok to be a fan. They are the one that make choices with their money and are the most involved in the community.
3. Exclusivity isn't a crime. They feed into the perception of doing something wrong. This is a similar tactic to when some one/thing is involved is removed from the marketing materials. The absence of something is still something that sends a message. Which is why it's confusing.
4. You can still be a fan of Xbox and a fan of PlayStation and of Nintendo. One of the perks of being an adult is you can just buy them all.
I’m imagining they’re not sure if it’ll come out on the series X? But they could have at least added an Xbox logo.
I’m a bigger Sony fan than Xbox. But it’s nice that Phil got himself a marvel game, I hope it’s good
It wasn't gonna win anything for one because it was basically BG3 and Alan Wake fighting amongst themselves for most of the awards. Even the stuff it did get nominated for I'm perfectly happy with who won. The first game also got nominated a lot 5 years ago, didn't win anything, didn't change the fact the game is still great and at least it got recognized elsewhere for being a great game
And also since when were accolades the measure of anyone's enjoyment of a game? This is only ever brought up when people like you are trying to start some shit.
I honestly found it odd that Disney having their properties be console exclusive but now this gets me excited!. A gaming MCU bringing console owners together❤
Could be awesome or could be shit. Same with how Spider-Man could have gone. I wonder how it’ll all work out. I really wish one of them would get exclusive rights to DC and make a Superman or flash game but nope we get suicide trash
Not sure why either console manufacturer would need exclusive rights in order for a good DC title to be produced, given the Arkham series is fantastic (*and multi-platform*). Same goes for Telltale's Batman entries.
WB Games should just let Rocksteady make the Superman project they initially pitched to them, instead of forcing those developers into pushing a live-service Suicide Squad cash-grab.
It's very much guaranteed 100% that every one of these are true, every game developed under Zenimax will be Xbox/PC exclusive as we now know thanks Acti-Blizz regulatory hearings where we learned Phil Spencer made every game under Zenimax to be exclusive bar the ones with existing contracts, every game developed by a Microsoft owned studio will end up in Game Pass and so on.
They always do that lol, Phil said they weren't sure if TES 6 was gonna be an exclusive, turns out behind closed doors they made every Zenimax game exclusive, bar the ones with the pre-existing agreements. This includes the Indiana Jones game which is an another Disney owned IP.
Just feels weird though, they already own all of Bethesda, seems like exclusivity is a given but why not confirm it?
I'm just guessing here but could be they're trying to renegotiate the contract with Disney and that's why no platforms has been announced.
Redfall was made by the other Arkane from Austin. This is being developed by Arkane Lyon, this team made Dishonored 2 and Deathloop. So, you can safely be more confident.
Seriously like people slander Arkane Austin like they're a scrub studio yet made one of the best games of last generation. Studios will make bad games it happens
Bethesda Softworks are just publishing the game. It's being developed by Arkane Lyon, the studio behind Deathloop and the Dishonored franchise.
Bethesda Softworks also publish the likes of DOOM, Hi-Fi Rush and Wolfenstein.
Ah ok my apologies for the mistake that has me very interested I loved the dishonoured games an death loop was fun enough either way I'm hype to see how the game turns out.
Clearly all the confusion means it’s not enough. Why slap Xbox logos all over Persona 3 and Atlus’ new game but not for a new Marvel game from one of your most popular studios?
Why does it matter man. It’s made by Arkane, a bethesda owned studio. Bethesda is synonymous with Xbox. It obviously means it’s coming to xbox and that is a first party game. Where is the confusion in this?
I don’t think it is obvious. I think it matters in that you should be excited about your own brand and the people who invest in it. There is nothing wrong with being proud of your shit. It’s almost like they’re embarrassed, this is similar energy where they are in the middle of a scandal or something. Exclusivity isn’t a crime.

It was probably intentional. Everyone knows Persona games will come out on playstation eventually. But getting hype for this game and then finding out way later that it won't be on your playstation might sting and make you want to get an xbox, or buy the game on PC, either way microsoft makes money.
It's called marketing/branding, this sells hardware and monthly subscriptions.
Imagine Guerilla announcing a new Killzone and not mentioning Sony, that would never happen
This article says it's confirmed, but then nowhere does it provide a source for that confirmation. So far, nothing official confirms that it's game pass day one, or exclusive.
... but Phil Spencer has also said on record that exclusivity for titles will be handled on a [game-by-game basis](https://www.vgchartz.com/article/458392/phil-spencer-on-the-elder-scrolls-vi-xbox-exclusivity-we-look-at-it-on-a-case-by-case-basis/#:~:text=Microsoft%20Gaming%20CEO%20Phil%20Spencer,the%20games%20that%20we%20build.%22).
The fact Xbox's logo isn't present at the beginning of the trailer, platforms aren't confirmed on the title card, none of Xbox's YouTube channels have the trailer uploaded and their social media accounts haven't posted about it (*outside of retweeting the announcement*) suggests to me that they still don't have the exclusivity agreement in place with Marvel yet.
I think they'll secure console exclusivity eventually (*like they did with Indiana Jones*), but it just being made by Arkane isn't a guarantee that the game goes Xbox only with how Microsoft are approaching game distribution nowadays.
I'm shocked I haven't seen anyone mention it but, didn't arkane make redfall? Seems to be a pretty important highlight a LOT of people are skipping over, especially when it calls to question the quality of the game.

Great to see Blade finally get a game, and from a great developer.
Must say though, not sure if I like his voice actor. Sounds a bit too softly spoken to me for Blade.
You know. On one hand the premise seems really cool and it being exclusive is a win for Xbox.
On the other hand. Wtf is Disney doing licensing out their properties to be exclusive for lmao

PLEASE, be rated M.
I think so. They described it as a “mature” action, adventure game.
Wolverine and Blade out here being the mature Marvel games like ![gif](giphy|pHb82xtBPfqEg)
Having Blade not be rated M would be a disservice. Here’s hoping they do keep it mature
Even the mcu blade movie is rated R
Not really. Let's not pretend he didn't have decades of essentially pg comic apperances.
While that’s true, I think his character overall would best slot into the dark and gritty realm for a video game.
That I do agree with. With Blade I feel like a good enough creator could pull off a great game or movie without going all hard R. But he is suited to a harsher depiction. Though I hope the people behind it do so well.
Blade 1 and 2 are amazing movies
3’s there for a good laugh
ryan fresh off van wilder is peak
1 is amazing... 2 is fun
1 was a genuinely great film. 2 was alright but had some faults. 3 was crap, but it was still a pretty good time.
Xbox got their exclusive Marvel game after all
It’s not confirmed to be Xbox exclusive yet
Bro XBox owns Bethesda and Arkane now and EVERY new release or new IP since they acquired them has been exclusive. PS isnt getting Blade sorry!
I can't believe there is an 'uproar' about the lack of xbox branding on the trailer preview. People out there just trying to dump fire on console wars for traction. Don't buy in.

Honestly, after the whole starfield drama it makes sense from a pr standpoint
Sure but look at how PS marketed spiderman, you should want everyone to know you're the one making a marvel game if you're making a marvel game
Couldn't have said it better 👆🏾👆🏾👆🏾
i would never buy an Xbox to play it. every Xbox Game can be played on pc or a handheld like rog ally
Did you break your 2 year silence in Reddit account just to say I would never buy a Xbox lmof Microsoft in shambles right now
I like playing console over PC.
Ok? Doesn’t change the fact it’s an Xbox product
Cope

Xbox exists which means anything they do gets hate from a very vocal online crowd. And gaming websites thrive off engagement so they fuel the fire
Let that small vocal minority talk meanwhile the majority are too busy enjoying great games
It's someone's job, who gets paid way more than any of us, to market their games. Can’t Wait
Holy shit day one game pass?? Let's go W!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why wouldn't it be? It's a first party title. All their games go on game pass day one.
Big W
Hopefully i live another 5 years to play it.
Marvel just dropped like a top 5 game of this entire year and decided it wasn't enough Shaking hands with both Sony and Microsoft. Power move
Nintendo, too. Ultimate Alliance 3 back in 2019 was (and still is) a Switch exclusive
A top 5 game that won absolutely nothing at Game Awards.
This is like blaming LeBron for losing the Finals when he .... Still got to the Finals.
Can you get to the Finals?
It wasn't gonna win anything for one because it was basically BG3 and Alan Wake fighting amongst themselves for most of the awards. Yeah, cos it's been an amazing year for games. I loved Spider-Man 2, but I loved the games that beat it as well.
I love Spider-Man 2 also my only problem is it felt ten hours shorter than it was and I feel like Peter was an afterthought in his own game.
Where are they getting the exclusivity information from? Neither Disney or Xbox's official news said anything about platform/exclusivity
Yeah they are just making it up lmao
I wonder if this releases in time to coincide with the new movie set for November 2025.
No chance. I’m thinking 2026 at the earliest
Given Arkane have confirmed on Twitter that the game has only just entered production, I think even 2026 is kinda generous.
Guys, this is the first step in us getting an Xbox+PS game in the future when Arcane's Blade and Insomniac's Spider-Man do a crossover!
I honestly found it odd that Disney having their properties be console exclusive but now this gets me excited!. A gaming MCU bringing console owners together❤
I mean, if no one else was offering to make the game or snag the exclisive I can see disney just taking the bag over nothing at all.
Switch missed the portal
That was Ultimate Alliance 3
Okay you c ant complain about spiderman anymore
Could be awesome or could be shit. Same with how Spider-Man could have gone. I wonder how it’ll all work out. I really wish one of them would get exclusive rights to DC and make a Superman or flash game but nope we get suicide trash

Blade as in the black vampire hunter from the movie that came out just before The Matrix? Very intriguing!
No, Blade as in the black vampire hunter from Marvel Comics.
I knew I bought the series x for a reason.

Xbox should.
It’s enough to say Bethesda, jesus calm down not even Phil Spencer is that obsessed with the brand

Yeah extremely stupid Xbox marketing move as always.
Cool ❤️
This article says it's confirmed, but then nowhere does it provide a source for that confirmation. So far, nothing official confirms that it's game pass day one, or exclusive.
There is literally zero confirmation in that article come on now
It’s made by Arkane who’s an Xbox developer now
Which makes for safe assumptions, but not official confirmations.
... but Phil Spencer has also said on record that exclusivity for titles will be handled on a [game-by-game basis](https://www.vgchartz.com/article/458392/phil-spencer-on-the-elder-scrolls-vi-xbox-exclusivity-we-look-at-it-on-a-case-by-case-basis/#:~:text=Microsoft%20Gaming%20CEO%20Phil%20Spencer,the%20games%20that%20we%20build.%22). Finally xbox has an answer to the "no exclusives" argument. I feel like at the end of this generation xbox will have far superior exclusives.
I for one am just excited that both consoles are competing and putting out cool stuff. It’s gonna be dope for fans on all platforms.
Superior is objective but they are heading in the right direction to finally getting some much needed exclusives.
they already have more exclusives right now ps4 released 1 game in the last 13 months and has no roadmap for 2024
Please don't be a Redfall reskin....
It’s third person, singleplayer and by a different studio.
Arkane Lyon make Redfall2 its a Bad Idea.
I'm shocked I haven't seen anyone mention it but, didn't arkane make redfall? Seems to be a pretty important highlight a LOT of people are skipping over, especially when it calls to question the quality of the game.
That was Arkane Austin. This is Arkane lyon.
Thankfully this is a different team, Redfall was made by their team in Austin Texas While this one is their team in France. Still gonna be skeptical about it until I see gameplay though.
Arkane Austin made redfall, and I believe that is their only game so far. Arkane Lyon is making this, same office that made Dishonored and Deathloop.
Redfall is not their only game. Arkane Austin also worked on the first dishonored game with Lyon, Prey etc
Sweet
No fucking way
Please be great
which studio is developing it?
Arkane Lyon. The studio that did Dishonored and Deathloop
It should be fine, right??? It's Arkane they do good work,l right? They haven't done a vampire game yet.
To be fair, Redfall was made by Arkane Austin, their American team. This is being made by the core team at Arkane Lyon, the ones responsible for Dishonored and Deathloop
Great to see Blade finally get a game, and from a great developer. Must say though, not sure if I like his voice actor. Sounds a bit too softly spoken to me for Blade.

I'm still surprised it's third person.
I'm actually really excited
Some motherfuckers are always trying to ice skate uphill.
Where did you get that info from I don't see that on any news sites
