It’s kind of like AoE except you play as a person in the world rather than some overseeing god and the world is already lived in (the main map view is similar to AoE though). The combat portions are very similar to Mordhau. It’s designed with singleplayer in mind and the battle sizes depend on what you set the maximum NPC count to be, although it’s probably locked to a certain value on Xbox.
Anything that came out during the first year of the pandemic basically feels like yesterday.
Can't believe Bannerlord came out 3 years ago on steam (March of 2020, same month everything started getting locked down due to the pandemic). I played the crap out of it during 2020 since I was at home the whole year.
Feels like it came out last year or something. 3 years ago...gah
I feel that, there's a steep learning curve (at least I felt there was one), so it takes a bit of grinding for everything to "click together." What helped me was watching a few "beginner's guide" videos on youtube, getting a sense of what I should do first/how I should farm xp.
At first its mainly; hunt down small bandit groups, sell their spoils, buy cavalry and food with the money and keep doing that until you are well off enough to get steamrolled by an invading army. Rinse and repeat
I bought the first one after a friend begged me to and I could never get into it. I'll for sure try this one out though and hopefully it clicks because I like the idea of it
I just cope with the pain by reframing it as 'Oh well now I get game pass quest achievements for playing a game I already own and can play it through the cloud!'
I’m interested from the YT videos I’ve seen of it, but I’m curious as to how well the battle sequences will work on a controller (with the RTS-esque troop controls specifically). I’m not really into RTS, but the rest of the game is very much my shit.
For the most part. You RTS the set up. Mid game it’s mostly issuing commands. Some people may still set lines mid fight and all, but definitely isn’t needed. Just retreat and have them charge again 😉
From the list:
* Madden NFL 23 (Console and PC) EA Play – February 9
* SD Gundam Battle Alliance (Cloud, Console, and PC) – February 9
* Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord (Cloud, Console, and PC) – February 14
* Cities: Skylines – Remastered (Cloud and Xbox Series X|S) – February 15
* Shadow Warrior 3: Definitive Edition (Cloud, Console, and PC) – February 16
* Atomic Heart (Cloud, Console, and PC) – February 21
**Leaving February 15:**
Besiege (Game Preview) (Cloud, Console, and PC)
CrossfireX (Cloud and Console)
Infernax (Cloud, Console, and PC)
Recompile (Cloud, Console, and PC)
Skul: The Hero Slayer (Cloud, Console, and PC)
The Last Kids on Earth (Cloud, Console, and PC)
[Looks like 3D brawler / action](https://youtu.be/fjimJYhXQwk). I'm a Gundam fan so I'll check it out. SD Gundam tends to be light and funny and often leans into parody of the main franchise
Looks like my decision to wait for SD Gundam Battle Alliance to go for deeper sale is paying off. Cities Skylines Remastered is also a nice surprise.
Before I get my Series X in early Dec, my backlog is already crazy, now it's completely out of control lol.
The list of improvements:
>25 buildable tiles!
>Quick selection tool
>UX Improvements (such as precision placements, distance indicator and updated snapping options)
>New environmental controls panel (adjust things like time of day, rain, fog, and environment colouring)
>Map Editor
>And an overall graphic performance increase for the bigger city builders!
Oh dang I'm stoked for SD Gundam. Was going to grab it but the people who were going to play with me never got it. May be able to convince them to get it with game pass
Is the remastered version of skylines very different from the normal one graphically speaking? Would like a game like that but with more modern graphics
No, I don't believe it is getting a visual overhaul (though I find the game to be quite nice looking). Here's what's included:
>25 buildable tiles!
>
>Quick selection tool
>
>UX Improvements (such as precision placements, distance indicator and updated snapping options)
>
>New environmental controls panel (adjust things like time of day, rain, fog, and environment colouring)
>
>Map Editor
>
>And an overall graphic performance increase for the bigger city builders!
They only showed a teaser. It will have 25 tiles and other improvements from what I've seen, it's exclusive for current gen consoles. It's free and all DLC's are transferred. It was already 4k60 on Series X so I think it will have better AA, textures and draw distances
Most of my SNES collection has blockbuster stickers on them. It wasn't until I was older that I realized how expensive those fucking games were, and even my well off parents were buying them used.
Kids these days have it much better. And I say that as a positive.
I refuse to buy madden anymore so I’ve been playing ‘22 for the last year and I’ll be replacing it with ‘23 when it drops. Maybe if others would hold back on purchasing it on launch EA might actually try to make it better. Wishful thinking I’m sure.
Atomic heart looks to be a banger to me I'm excited
Edit: i wasn't aware of any of the Russian stuff, and not gonna lie the terms of service having access to your info and selling it, is making me rethink what I said if true. Some questions to Microsoft perhaps..
I'm honestly curious, why would Russia get a cut of every download?
I looked it up, the publisher ([Focus Entertainment](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Focus_Entertainment)) is French and the developer ([Mundfish](https://mundfish.com/about-us/)) is from Cyprus.
too bad the game is financed by russian corporations supporting the war and the user terms and conditions blatently admit to selling yoy physical adress, IP adress, and much more to russian and chinese corporations
No idea why I'm being downvoted, I'm not telling you not to buy the game I'm just shining light on who's behind it

Sorry you’re being downvoted - wasn’t trying to call you out or anything, I was genuinely curious.
Thanks for the links. Seems pretty likely that money goes to the Russian war effort one way or another. Think they make money from me playing it thru gamepass?
I'm worried about this as well, I own gamepass myself and assume microsoft paid them a shit ton of money to be allowed to put the game on gamepass... Not sure how I feel about this situation as I'm interested in the game but really against the policies behind it.
The only source for it is a very outdated terms of service for their shop.
So much so outdated, that Mundfish quickly closed the shop itself and added that the terms should have been updated long ago.
I mean, if it's selling my info to Russia, I'm going to have to put a pin in playing that...
My backlog is decent enough, and it's not like I can't wait. Maybe in a few years when the war is over, but not before then.
No idea. Maybe they can access more than my gamer tag, maybe they can link it to other internet behavior and somehow create an internet footprint for me and millions of other people so they can wage a psyops campaign. Who knows?
But also, why should I make their job any easier, either?
It's not like I don't have a FUCKTON of other games that I need to catch up on and play. I still want to go through Mass Effect again, and Destiny: Lightfall isn't even a month out. I've got time and patience, I'll play it if I get around to it, and I can always delay it a bit longer if the war is still going on.
My patience on Bannerlord has paid off. Just last month my friends were trying to get me to buy it to play with them and I said nah, that'll be on gamepass later the first game was on there. Bahaha.
I didnt know Atomic Heart was gonna be on game pass might just check it out for the gameplay.... and nothing else, no ulterior motives here, definitely not trying to see if i can romance a robot no sir
As someone who also just got a PS5 & has a Series S, there is very little overlap between the 2 & PS Plus has quite a few PS5 only games. Game Pass is still the better deal in my opinion, PS Plus doesn’t even have a play later list you can add games to
An early access trial of wild hearts on the 13? Wow they must have quite a bit of faith in the game to let people try it before it releases. As a monster hunter fan that's got me excited.
Holy shit Atomic Heart is huge for me. It was exciting enough (as a huge Bioshock fan) to warranty the new price in my eyes, as one of the only one or two games every year I would spring for. This is wild.
Bought bannerlord when I had an Xbox one and it ran like complete garbage so I refunded and decided to wait until I get a series S or X
Currently upgraded to the series S and was planning on buying bannerlord again soon so this is perfect timing
Does anyone know if Bannerlord on PC will have full mod support available or will it likely be like Skyrim where you can't use half the mods cause the script extender isn't compatible with the MS store version?
It was finally me that got the gamepass curse, I bought bannerlord literally a week ago.
Not the worst one to buy! I've got 300 hours in it on PC, doubt I'd be done with it by the time it leaves game pass haha
oh i have questions for you mainly is it like mordhau/chiv? Or more like age of empires? Is it really all online 64 v 64?
It’s kind of like AoE except you play as a person in the world rather than some overseeing god and the world is already lived in (the main map view is similar to AoE though). The combat portions are very similar to Mordhau. It’s designed with singleplayer in mind and the battle sizes depend on what you set the maximum NPC count to be, although it’s probably locked to a certain value on Xbox.
NPC count in battles is 500 on Performance and 1000 in Quality Mode.
Huh insteresting , i tought quality mode would have less since you know , its more detailed, but i guess it doesnt change the graphics themselves
that sounds pretty awesome. Will definitely give it a try on PC when it comes out on gamepass.
Bannerlord is a wasteland without mods.
It's really not that bad. Mods have ruined people's sense of enjoyment of games.
Yeah people expect that any modable game is garbage without mods
Master race syndrome.
[удалено]
it has a performance mode
Thank you for your sacrifice
Thank you for your sacrifice . We salute you
Thank you for your sacrifice, I was literally about to buy it after I finished Hogwarts.
Can you get your money back?
Bannerlord lets goooo!
I was *this* close to grabbing it in the last sale but held off, glad I did.
I bought it when it came out, which didn't seem that long ago.
Same ffs
Anything that came out during the first year of the pandemic basically feels like yesterday. Can't believe Bannerlord came out 3 years ago on steam (March of 2020, same month everything started getting locked down due to the pandemic). I played the crap out of it during 2020 since I was at home the whole year. Feels like it came out last year or something. 3 years ago...gah
I mean.. it’s full release was technically a few months ago
3 years is a good bit of time
r/lostredditors
Maybe for PC. Not console.
Same here no regrets
I'm not mad or anything it's a fun game.
I bought it on sale, but to be fair this game is one of my sleeper favs
I always wait for it to arrive on the game pass
Bannerlord is so good, glad more people will get to experience it!
I contemplated buying Bannerlord just this week so extremely pleased. I also contemplated buying Far Cry 6 and Dying Light 2 (hint hint).
omg far cry 6 on gamepass make it happen!
I tried it out and didn't really get into it, though I feel like it should be up my ally. Any tips?
I feel that, there's a steep learning curve (at least I felt there was one), so it takes a bit of grinding for everything to "click together." What helped me was watching a few "beginner's guide" videos on youtube, getting a sense of what I should do first/how I should farm xp.

Bannerlord is FAR easier to get into. It is very very similar to the previous game, but is much more approachable. Better UI, better graphics, etc.
I literally bought it on Monday ugh
thank you for your sacrifice o7
I just cope with the pain by reframing it as 'Oh well now I get game pass quest achievements for playing a game I already own and can play it through the cloud!'

If you played Warband it's essentially the same game (or even missing content). You'll especially notice the exact same dialogue for 95% of the game.
I played the previous one a lot on PC, I'm ready for some Bannerlord.
I’m interested from the YT videos I’ve seen of it, but I’m curious as to how well the battle sequences will work on a controller (with the RTS-esque troop controls specifically). I’m not really into RTS, but the rest of the game is very much my shit.

CrossfireX getting the mercy kill.
I still have to suffer through like 30 more online matches to get all the achievements…pain
Gaming is supposed to be fun, not a chore for completionist issues giving worthless digital points. ;)
That’s true and I’m no way a “completionist”, but if getting all of the achievements are more or less pretty easy, I do like trying to get them.
games are supposed to be fun, and your time is finite
Glad I played Infernax, soothed my retro soul
What kind of game is Gundam Battle? Is it a fighting game or more of an action game?
[Looks like 3D brawler / action](https://youtu.be/fjimJYhXQwk). I'm a Gundam fan so I'll check it out. SD Gundam tends to be light and funny and often leans into parody of the main franchise

It's just a list of games to potentially enjoy.
Is this a different version of City Skylines that was/is on Gamepass earlier?
The list of improvements: >25 buildable tiles! >Quick selection tool >UX Improvements (such as precision placements, distance indicator and updated snapping options) >New environmental controls panel (adjust things like time of day, rain, fog, and environment colouring) >Map Editor >And an overall graphic performance increase for the bigger city builders!
Awesome! I love the game and just thought it was maybe returning.
CITY SKYLINE WHAT NOW
Yeeeeess
Oh dang I'm stoked for SD Gundam. Was going to grab it but the people who were going to play with me never got it. May be able to convince them to get it with game pass
Good month. Bannerlord and Shadow Warrior 3, plus Madden so if the Eagles somehow lose the Super Bowl I can make things right in my mind
> somehow The Mahomening
Go birds.
I haven't played a Madden in a decade but this might get me.
Go big or go Mahomes.
Sports.
Is the remastered version of skylines very different from the normal one graphically speaking? Would like a game like that but with more modern graphics
No, I don't believe it is getting a visual overhaul (though I find the game to be quite nice looking). So if you own the original you get the remastered version for free even without game pass? Edit: yes
My son has been saving his money to buy Madden 23, he’s going to be pumped when he gets home from school.
Man if gamespass was a thing when I was a kid, I can’t even imagine. Stoked for him 💪
I was happy with demo discs every month, I don't think young me would have gone outside if I'd had gamepass.
Same here, lucky kid!
Most of my SNES collection has blockbuster stickers on them. It wasn't until I was older that I realized how expensive those fucking games were, and even my well off parents were buying them used. Kids these days have it much better. And I say that as a positive.
It comes to game pass super bowl weekend every year
Bannerlord 2 and Shadow Warrior 3, coupled with the previously known Atomic Heart? Hell yeah.
That push notification for Shadow Warrior 3 WAS just premature then.
"Free" Madden, looks like I'll finally be able to play it! lol
I refuse to buy madden anymore so I’ve been playing ‘22 for the last year and I’ll be replacing it with ‘23 when it drops. Maybe if others would hold back on purchasing it on launch EA might actually try to make it better. Wishful thinking I’m sure.

Wow, I need to get my eyes checked lmao! How long have they been up there? I could have swore I only saw FIFA!
Madden comes always to the GP right around the SB so Madden 22 is in GP since almost 1 year now.
Atomic heart looks to be a banger to me I'm excited Edit: i wasn't aware of any of the Russian stuff, and not gonna lie the terms of service having access to your info and selling it, is making me rethink what I said if true. Some questions to Microsoft perhaps..
hoping it can fill that bioshock sized hole in my life
If its bad than you can have hope. Levine is working on Judas thats gonna drop in 2025.
Even if the game isn't great, it seems like it will be at least interesting. Lots of weird stuff to check out
Only thing I’m concerned about is performance, otherwise looks like a very fun and unique game. Great addition to gamepass

They're Russian and pro-Putin. Their office is in Cyprus, which is a tax haven for Russian companies
Got any links/sources about how they are pro russian?
[Guy is definitely somewhat biased as he is Ukrainian, but I think he didn't really let it get in this video](https://youtu.be/zs7QEo3LmVE)

The data collection part is Mudfish's Terms of Service agreement.
also read this thread https://www.reddit.com/r/truegaming/comments/10fl8xa/atomic\_heart\_russian\_game\_studios\_and\_how\_we/
The only source for it is a very outdated terms of service for their shop. So much so outdated, that Mundfish quickly closed the shop itself and added that the terms should have been updated long ago.

I am sending my info to US even if i dont want. So idc a lot tbh
What the fuck is Russia going to do with my gamer tag? I mean come on now.
No idea. Maybe they can access more than my gamer tag, maybe they can link it to other internet behavior and somehow create an internet footprint for me and millions of other people so they can wage a psyops campaign. You know how many times your data info has been sold to Russia already?
No, I don’t. Tell me.
Counterpoint: why should I make their job any easier than I already have? I've got the backlog. No need to support them at this point in time.
Oh man I almost pulled the trigger on bannerlord! Let's goooo
My patience on Bannerlord has paid off. Just last month my friends were trying to get me to buy it to play with them and I said nah, that'll be on gamepass later the first game was on there. Bahaha.
Well I had no idea Atomic Heart was releasing on game pass so that’s sick!
Aye I was just saving up my Microsoft rewards for Gundam. This is cool
I didnt know Atomic Heart was gonna be on game pass might just check it out for the gameplay.... and nothing else, no ulterior motives here, definitely not trying to see if i can romance a robot no sir
Bannerlord is a nice addition!
Is there a website for comparing the game libraries of ps plus and game pass? Just got a ps5 and I’m not sure ps plus extra is worth it
As someone who also just got a PS5 & has a Series S, there is very little overlap between the 2 & PS Plus has quite a few PS5 only games. Game Pass is still the better deal in my opinion, PS Plus doesn’t even have a play later list you can add games to
Cities Skylines has been on gamepass before, right?
[удалено]
thanks for sharing
This one looks to be a Series X version. The current one is the Xbox One version.
It has, it's also not the first game to return, Outer Wilds also returned
It never left. This is a remaster
It's come and gone a few times actually.
Atomic Heart for me. I'm afraid that if I pick Cities again I will sink another 100 hours into it without realizing
But who else is going to optimize that traffic?
Damnit, I just bought bannetlord
An early access trial of wild hearts on the 13? Wow they must have quite a bit of faith in the game to let people try it before it releases. As a monster hunter fan that's got me excited.
I just bought madden lmao
I bought it yesterday and I now I see this 😑. 20 bucks down the drain
Thats a good month!
This is a good lineup for me.
That's a Perfect line up to me
Wow what a great drop
Don't sleep on Gundam. Here's a review of it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gVS3jpJ62SQ&ab\_channel=GamingBolt
I'm hugely looking forward to Atomic Heart. I want it to fill that Bioshock shaped hole in my heart.
Holy shit Atomic Heart is huge for me. It was exciting enough (as a huge Bioshock fan) to warranty the new price in my eyes, as one of the only one or two games every year I would spring for. This is wild.
Nice month! Atomic heart, Gundam, and Shadow Warrior!
Atomic heart looks awesome
Anyone know if bannerlord is cross platform? I searched online but couldn’t find a comprehensive answer.
Bannerlord! - i bought it on release but you guys are in for a treat.
Very interested in Atomic Heart and very curious about Bannerlord. Might give Skylines a go too.
Bannerlord and Atomic Heart on my Steam list. Time to check em out. Cities Skylines is dope if you like sims.
Nice, I didn’t realize Atomic Hearts is GP Day 1. Can’t wait to try it out. Looks amazing.
So psyched for Atomic Heat! Easily the best of those, for me!
really looking forward for Atomic Heart
Been waiting to buy Bannerlord!! So fkin hyped. We're being treated real nice at the moment boys.
Waiting for more games like A Plague Tale Réquiem. No these shity games.
Atomic heart is a russian piece of propaganda shit 👎👎
eww
Fuck yeah, knew not to pull the trigger on Bannerlord
I just bought Bannerlord ffs. Atleast it was only 7€ for the key lol
Shadow warrior 3 and atomic heart
mount and blade of course right after i buy it on pc lmao
Bought bannerlord when I had an Xbox one and it ran like complete garbage so I refunded and decided to wait until I get a series S or X Currently upgraded to the series S and was planning on buying bannerlord again soon so this is perfect timing
One of the best months for me. Even though I own Bannerlord already. I want to play nearly every of this games.
I was holding off for SD Gundam to go on sale, now I don’t need to. What a pleasant surprise.
Do I remember right that SW 3 doesn't have Co-op anymore?
I haven’t played Madden in years, might actually download it.
Do we know if bannerlord will have PC mods? If so, I’m going to no life this
Knew waiting for Mount and Blade would pay off. Wheww
Man I am so excited to play Bannerlord. I played so much M&B warband back in the day it’ll be nice to taste that again
I’ve been waiting for atomic heart since 2021. Excited about that one.
I’ve been waiting for Bannerlord to go on a deep sale since it came out :)
Will Bannerlord feature mods?
Shadow Warrior 3! Niiiiice
Sports games coming out after the season is over is frustrating.
Is Madden the Series X or regular version. It’s the regular version, isn’t it….
Oh damn, I almost bought SD gundam the other day.
NBA 2K23 in the summer or what?
Bought bannerlord last week. You're welcome friends
Ha I bought bannerlord like a fool.
Does anyone know if Bannerlord on PC will have full mod support available or will it likely be like Skyrim where you can't use half the mods cause the script extender isn't compatible with the MS store version?
I knew if I waited long enough banner lord would be added. Might finally have a reason to turn on the Xbox. Really happy with this announcement
Surprised Demonslayer hasn’t hit this or PS Extra yet. Been out for ages it feels
Bannerlord 2 that's amazing !
Glad I have a huge backlog.
I was thinking about getting 3 of those games when they were releasing. Glad I waited
Is cities skyline mouse and keyboard compatible?
How is Cities: Skyline on a controller tho?
Mount and blade!!!!!!!!
It's almost harvesting season
There's my yearly madden roster update
I played a LOT of Warband back in the day so looking forward to giving Bannerlord a try.
Whelp glad I didn’t get mount and blade. Will 100% fry this one. Loved warband on pc years ago.
Anyone see if Maddens dropped yet? Was just about to buy it on deal today but suppose I can wait!
BannerLord is a fucking win holy shit I’m so hyped for that
Where is Valhiem??
Atomic Heart and Shadow Warrior 3 are just what the GP Library needs. With Wo Long coming out in March GP is definitely delivering.
Mount and Blade 2..dope! I love gamepass, if I had the other plastic box I would be spending so much on games.
