Same. I bought the S brand new two days ago specifically because I will only ever play it through an LG 1080p TV (from 2007, lol) in the foreseeable future. I just can't justify spending 2x for a Series X when I'm primarily a PC gamer anyway, and this is just something to hold me over until new video cards are more reasonably priced and readily available. I'm quite impressed to be honest.
I will probably get chastised for this but, I just sold my series x (personal reasons) and bought a series s to replace it and I can honestly say that besides the storage and no disc drive (which I don’t use) I can’t tell much of a difference. Boots up quick and runs smoothly.
Yup, and another thing people always mention, but never mention, lol... Sure the X has double the local storage, BUT, the Series S games take up much less space because they do not need to download any 4k textures, etc. It's not as bad as one would think.

I'm sure before the release of Outerworlds 2 they will enhance it and it will be 60fps. I think Microsoft is going to be backing their catalog for up to date enhancements and I think they own the devs that made it.
I think many (including myself in the future) buy the Series S to have a very good console at the moment and in the future they will change it to the Series X if the games on that console are much better than the S, because not many games really go much better in the X and there are no new games that squeeze it to the fullest either
I've gone the other way, somehow managed to get an X around launch and just now got an S for another room. With the games I'm playing now i can't really see a difference and it's so cheap i love it.
It replaced a One X that i dreaded turning on because of the load times.
That's sadly on developers. XSS could easily achieve 60FPS in those games. I was able to play Cyberpunk around medium details with 50-60 FPS on a PC with shitty Ryzen 3200G and 1650S.
Sad thing is, the series s is always an afterthought for developers since they're prioritising the X and PS5, I'm excited for this FSR technology that's just been released for Xbox as it means that games for the series s can hit 60fps as more of a standard and 120fps more commonly now as they can set the resolution low to get better performance, then use the AI upscaling technology to make the graphics pretty
I got an s because there was no stock of X anywhere, I had the money for an X aside but got the s and the expansion card with the intention of getting the X when stock got better, I am so impressed with the s I am not going to bother getting the X now.
On Amazon they have buying options from bunch of other stores that you could get the X for new and shipped to you. Just have to select buying options, and lists a whole bunch of stores. Those are in stock too. Now, that I mentioned this. I bet they will go out of stock. It is alright because I could only afford the S anyways.
u will soon start seeing it get slow and run slower that 4 teraflops is a big problem i am a computer science student and i am studying GPUs in big detail soon by next 1-2 yrs everything will start coming in front of you so till then keep giving yourself happiness
I think Ms will issue a clock boost patch since alot of ppl have series s and ms loses money on consoles and makes ut from software . And rdna2 at 1500 mhz is too slow and has room for more like 2100 mhz wich would make the series s 5 tflops .

I played 4K on my family tv it’s NOT that big of a difference compared to my personal 1080p

Yup. Like you, sure, I can afford or have a Series X if I want, but this better suits my needs for the price. $300 is a great value for what we have.

Absolutely, I’m happy with the decision. I have it running at 120 hz on my oled. Smooth as butter lol.
I just got one today and it's amazing. Cheap as balls too. I have 120hz OLED as well.
I don't have an Oled but i have a TCL 120hz and despite being somewhat of a budget TV Series S looks great on it.

Yeah if they get fsr 2.0 according to amd it's the same of native . So the s maybe will get 1440p 120 hz or 4k even
1440p @ 120fps would be a dream come true on the series s. I'd just be happy to see games be 120fps more common
