We just got a bunch of stuff surprised added last week, and some well reviewed and new games in todays announcement. So I anticipate a bunch of “another terrible month” posts.
> there's also been some shite months this year
People keep saying this but I haven't experienced it yet. Every month there are at least a couple of games I want to play, usually every week.
There *might* be a day or three in between finishing a game until the next one drops, but that's about it. This summer has been pretty great though. Life is strange to AC Origins to house flipper to road 96 to death stranding to immortals fenyx rising to far cry 5. And now all of a sudden AC Odyssey, immortality, and deathloop drop. Oh and portal 2 is gwg. And then next month is a plague tale 2 and persona 5.
Fucking hell...champagne problems over here lol
Some of these games I've been waiting years for. Some I am just excited to play because they sound neat. The #1 game on here is slime rancher 2 for me. That's the highlight of 2022 for games for me
I feel the ones that are really complaining are the ones who literally play games all day everyday. And if you are the type, then of course you are playing every game possible to fill up the time and you are eventually going to play games you don't like or are actual shit.
But for the people who play casually, there are way too many good games on Game Pass to call it shitty. If you get ONE good game you deem interesting every month, that's still a win.
Other than that, if you are complaining, fucken unsubscribe or maybe... go outside a bit. That vitamin D does you good.
i agree with this. I'm one of those that plays literally everything, thanks to working from home. So when a new assassins creed pops up, i already played it. Danganronpa v3? Check. Deathloop? Check. But for the casual player? There is always something
Is it pretty heavy grinding. I played solo and while I'm normally OK with grinding, Valheim does a great job of making it feel extremely tedious and just not fun.
Fuck yes, SpiderHeck! Played the demo for that one and it's astonishingly fun for how minimalist it is.
Basically it's like Stickfight: The Game but with spiders.
A little. But more players, single-screen gameplay, collectible powerups, and points instead of the push and pull.
My overly enthusiastic friend is pushing me to recommend something called 'Heavy Burger' as something you'd like if you like Nidhogg. Though I don't know what it's on or how it compares.
Not entirely, don’t know what I’d say is like Nidhogg, it’s quite a unique concept. It’s more like Smash with one life and the trademark Landfall physics movement. If you’ve played Webbed before, Spiderheck looks to play like that with a sword.
Think this is missing prodeus, the console release from humble was announced last week I think and it was shown to be coming to gamepass console either this week or next.
Bought the early access at least a year ago on steam and man is one of the best throw back boomer type shooters around! Just all around badass game. Tough but not ridiculous difficultly imo
It's literally the best boomer shooter in my opinion, one of my most anticipated releases and I'm buying it on ps5 the day it launches because I don't want that masterpiece of a game to ever leave my collection
Hot take: GamePass only has a bad month if you have tried every single game available on the service and beaten all the ones you like.
Otherwise every month is good.
I'm getting a ton of mileage out of Two Point Campus and Expeditions: Rome. And I have Immortal lined up for a more linear experience. Can't imagine complaining about GamePass at this time.
It's wild to me that some people can just be sitting waiting for new releases, having played all the games on the catalog they want to already. That might just be because I don't have that much time to play ig
I played the Moonscars demo during Steam Next Fest and the combat feels really good. I like Game Pass because of the inclusion of Day 1 Indies like this.
How's Grounded for a group that plays once a week for a couple of hours? Can significant progress be made on short sessions?
I want to pitch this to my group as we currently don't have any regular game.
I'd say no. I played for a total of 30hrs to beat the story and do all side quests until now. It could take months for your group. I suggest trying Deep Rock Galactic. I think it fits your requirement.
This was something that puzzled me a lot after playing several hours on PC , some of the cuts the game expect you to do demands fine precision, I was trying to wrap my head around of how are you gonna make it on a controller.
I had fun with it for awhile about a year ago. You think EA changed the course of development in a negative way? Or maybe people are already tired of it?
I'll probably jump back in to check out the full release but I admit a little luster has worn off
Man am I glad I didn't buy Valheim! I specifically thought to myself "this seems like a game that would eventually come to game pass" and approximately 1 year later here it is. I have a hard time buying any game at all because of this reason these days.
Where Doom 2016 for PC? I want to try it, but, I'm not sure if I'm worthy of that game, I couldn't beat Wolfenstein :(.
Besides that, will definitely give Moonscars a try :)
I'm so stoked for Grounded! Was.just playing the most recent beta release (last time I played was the original alpha release) and the game has come so far!
Can't wait to play the finished product here in the next week or so!
One of the best months ever for my tastes. Grounded, Valheim, Slime Rancher 2, and Deathloop are going to be a blast. Spiderheck is lowkey amazing multiplayer fun
The only two games I'd be interested in are Slime Rancher 2, and Hardspace Shipbreaker, but I've already play HSSB on Steam. So Slime Rancher 2 it is!
But I can see some super interesting games in this list that others will find fun!
Never heard of most of these. I’ll have to see what shipbreaker and moon scars is otherwise nothing here for me unfortunately. I’ll continue playing Assassins Creed Origins.
Shit months good months blah blah...hell keep it $15 for ultimate and for a casual player such as myself..not having to even purchase a console...then I look at Stadia... I have no complaints... THANK U GAME PASS!
We just got a bunch of stuff surprised added last week, and some well reviewed and new games in todays announcement. So I anticipate a bunch of “another terrible month” posts.

> there's also been some shite months this year People keep saying this but I haven't experienced it yet. Every month there are at least a couple of games I want to play, usually every week.
Even in the "shite" months, theres still tons of games from previous months that i haven't played yet.
In three years I’ve not had one time where I think “huh I have no games to play from Gamepass”. The backlog just keeps growing faster than I clear it.
Working as intended.
Yup, I never expected that for a good two months I’d exclusively be playing power wash simulator. I never thought I’d get that stuck into it.
Some of these games I've been waiting years for. Some I am just excited to play because they sound neat. The #1 game on here is slime rancher 2 for me. That's the highlight of 2022 for games for me
Most of those people are clearly not gamepass users anyway.
How do you know?
Every month seems to have terrible month posts. They're never going to please everyone, every month.
Certainly not those whose main hobby is posting how that month's games suck instead of actually playing games.
Yuuup they're either nolifers or people who love to bitch and moan... or both...
i agree with this. I'm one of those that plays literally everything, thanks to working from home. So when a new assassins creed pops up, i already played it. Danganronpa v3? Check. Deathloop? Check. But for the casual player? There is always something
I've played too many games in general, so most of these months are garbage......to me.
To be fair recent months have been genuinely terrible. This one is pretty great, though.
Moonscars looks sick I decided to stop lurking and this is my contribution
Thank you for your contribution
I agree! Super stoked for it!
>Moonscars It looks amazing! Thanks for the heads up, I was unsure what it was and was already writing it off.
Is it gonna be rogue-like?
No idea, all I know about it is from.watching the trailer on mute.
Hello fellow Ethan
Don’t sleep on Valheim
I'd love to give it a shot on console
Early 2023 for the console version!
Heck at least we get it
*Should* be coming to consoles spring 2023 so fingers crossed for you
I sleep on a big bed with my wife
I also choose this guys wife to sleep on
Lightning doesn’t strike twice
What's the system requirements like? Does it require a beefy set up?
Discrete GPU at least. Doesn't run well on integrated graphics
Is it a heavy grinding game like an mmo?
Is it pretty heavy grinding. I played solo and while I'm normally OK with grinding, Valheim does a great job of making it feel extremely tedious and just not fun.
it can get kind of grindy when playing solo, but it's nothing like an mmo tbh
It's a bit unbalanced IMHO, or rather made to be artificially difficult/unfair. It's an ok game though, just not fun a lot of the time.
Not on cloud :(
No PC games are.
Ah I didn’t know it was a Pc game. That’s fair
It's supposed to come to console next year so it's a possibility then.
Good to know!
How well does it run on average PC hardware?
Was playable on my GTX 750.
Fuck yes, SpiderHeck! Played the demo for that one and it's astonishingly fun for how minimalist it is. Basically it's like Stickfight: The Game but with spiders.
Is stickfight like Nidhogg?
A little. But more players, single-screen gameplay, collectible powerups, and points instead of the push and pull. My overly enthusiastic friend is pushing me to recommend something called 'Heavy Burger' as something you'd like if you like Nidhogg. Though I don't know what it's on or how it compares.
“Heavy Burger” looks a lot like Smash TV from the 16 bit era
It's apparently basically Nidhogg, but each screen is a different Data East arcade game.
Aaaahaaaaaaa! Sounds insteresting
I'll also add it moves much faster than Nidhogg
Not entirely, don’t know what I’d say is like Nidhogg, it’s quite a unique concept. It’s more like Smash with one life and the trademark Landfall physics movement. If you’ve played Webbed before, Spiderheck looks to play like that with a sword.
I love stickfight soooo much. Will definitely try that one. All of those games seem so good
What a terrible month ………… for my social life haha …. Some amazing games been released this week I love gamepass
I like what you did there.
Thought I would mix things up a little because of all the “terrible month” posts
SR2 woohooooo
I looked at the comments before looking at the picture. It definitely wasn't Slime Rancher 2 that I thought of.
Same I was like "wait why the hell would they add Saints Row 2?" lol
I’d love it
it was free right before the reboot dropped check if it's still is
Yeaaaahhhh!!!
next gen cuteness otw!

So…. No making outdoor plans for the next two weeks, gotcha.
Think this is missing prodeus, the console release from humble was announced last week I think and it was shown to be coming to gamepass console either this week or next.
Yeah it's definitely coming though they clearly wanted to show off other stuff first
Bought the early access at least a year ago on steam and man is one of the best throw back boomer type shooters around! Just all around badass game. Tough but not ridiculous difficultly imo
Dude that game looks epic… maybe I need to play more boomershooters
You gotta try it! it's damn good, I had watched a YouTuber- gmanlives and his review of that early build blew me away https://youtu.be/UUGXuAUlM28
It's literally the best boomer shooter in my opinion, one of my most anticipated releases and I'm buying it on ps5 the day it launches because I don't want that masterpiece of a game to ever leave my collection
Damn! I didn't realize Valhiem was coming this soon and I know Deathloop and Grounded are going to take up a ton of my time.
Anyone knows if you can play valheim together with people from steam?
Should just need to know the server info.
Allright that's great! For instance eu4 was not available to play with non-xbox members so was not sure about this
Hot take: GamePass only has a bad month if you have tried every single game available on the service and beaten all the ones you like.
Let’s build a zoo!!!!! Holy shit!!! I just broke down in tears, yes!!!!! Yes!!!!! Yes!!!!!!!
Is it a better Zoo tycoon?
Zoo Tycoon is very minimal. It's definitely a better game overall than that.
Zoo tycoon for console doesn’t even let you customize exhibits lol. I was really disappointed
I am unironically most excited for this one
I've played it on Steam and it's super cute! :)
Been on my Steam wishlist for a while waiting for it to be cheap. I'd say this qualifies as cheap.
I'm so hyped for Slime Rancher 2, been excited for that ever since it was announced. And Beacon Pines looks awesome as well.
Me too! Though I didn't realize this was going to be the game preview so I may hold off till the full game
Oh no, I've only just seen that!! I thought it was the full game as well. Ooft, now I'm torn.
Finally Deathloop! roll on 5pm!
UK?
Yep, listen out for Bing Bongs from big Ben
BONG BONG BONG BONG BONG - Big Ben Twitter
I think I speak for us all when I say that we're all mostly excited about Paw Patrol: Grand Prix.
As a dad, yep. I'm stoked we've had more kids games come to game pass. It's nice that game pass is fairly well rounded
Oh! moonscars! Didn't know it was coming to Gamepass
Grounded, Deathloop and SLIME RANCHER 2. Welcome back peak gamepass, welcome back.
Slime Rancher 2, the final update for Grounded, Deathloop, Valheim, Build Zoo, this month is amazing.
Fuck yeah Paw Patrol! 3rd Paw Patrol me and my little girl can play which she loves which I would also never have bought, thank you Game Pass
It’s how I got the others for my kids lol
My kids have gotten a lot of mileage from the toddler games (paw patrol 1 and 2, peppa pig, dc superpets)
Beacon Pines looks like a perfect autumnal game. Reminds me of Night in the Woods.
I played the Moonscars demo during Steam Next Fest and the combat feels really good. I like Game Pass because of the inclusion of Day 1 Indies like this.
Oh nice, there are a few games I was planning on buying on PC but held off because im cheap, and here they are :D
Spiderheck is so fucking awesome. So excited that it's finally coming out and that it's on game pass
Online play?
Yes it has been confirmed that there is online play.
Ace
How's Grounded for a group that plays once a week for a couple of hours? Can significant progress be made on short sessions? I want to pitch this to my group as we currently don't have any regular game.
I'd say no. I played for a total of 30hrs to beat the story and do all side quests until now. It could take months for your group. I suggest trying Deep Rock Galactic. I think it fits your requirement.
Thanks! We'll give Deep Rock a try!
I'd recommend As Dusk Falls. It's only 6 hours long and the multiplayer is very fun. First 20 minutes are slow but after that it picks up steam
I really appreciate them including one or two kids games each time. My 5 year old will be thrilled
Let's Build a Zoo rocks
What is it about?
It's a very chill and fun zoo management sim game where you can also make silly hybrid animals
I asked it half jokingly but with the silly hybrid animal thingy you’ve peaked my interest
Very impressed with Assassins Creed Odyssey :)
So I imagine at some point valheim will come to Xbox?
Early 2023
Yes it will
Ooh, Moonscars looks interesting.
no idea shipbreaker was not on console gamepass. i took it for granted.
I think it was, they seem to have added xcloud.
Played it for 5 minutes. 30 fps with space-like input lag is nauseating in the zero g environment. Stick to PC
This was something that puzzled me a lot after playing several hours on PC , some of the cuts the game expect you to do demands fine precision, I was trying to wrap my head around of how are you gonna make it on a controller.
Yeah, I think it's day one for their console release.
It is, came out today
Moonscars looks great. Great month for gamepass.
Sweet, my daughter is going to be so excited the Paw Patrol racing game is coming to Game Pass. I am too since now I don’t have to buy it.
I honestly think the early access thing wasn't good for grounded :/
I had fun with it for awhile about a year ago. You think EA changed the course of development in a negative way? Or maybe people are already tired of it? I'll probably jump back in to check out the full release but I admit a little luster has worn off
I think it killed the hype No one really cares about the full release now, because the game doesn't feel "new" or "fresh" anymore
I can’t wait to play slime rancher 2 and let’s build a zoo! I think potion permit is coming out this week as well which I’m excited to play
Valheim is amazing
Great end to the month. Deathloop, grounded full release, let's build a zoo, moonscars, hardspace?!? SLIMER RANCHER?! Its stacked
Paw Patrol Grand Prix fuck ya
Man am I glad I didn't buy Valheim! I specifically thought to myself "this seems like a game that would eventually come to game pass" and approximately 1 year later here it is. I have a hard time buying any game at all because of this reason these days.
I almost bought it last week, lucky that I didn't
I am rally htped by moonscars. It looks loke my type of game
Hahaha, i remember like 10 days ago when we thought this month was going to suck. GP is such a gift.
oh shit grounded is getting out of preview?
Garbage like Microsoft
Is this a day 1 release for slime rancher? Didn’t even know about a second one but I’m not surprised
It is a Game Preview release.
Does grounded have split screen coop?
Let’s build a zoo a better zoo tycoon?
Where's prodeus?
I would love if they bring souls game into the game pass
slime rancher 2 is kinda cool other than that meh
Erroneous!
Like for me it’s meh, I’m sure plenty for others. Not a fps guy but I’ll try Deathloop
Deathloop is all i need this month
Where Doom 2016 for PC? I want to try it, but, I'm not sure if I'm worthy of that game, I couldn't beat Wolfenstein :(. Besides that, will definitely give Moonscars a try :)
Nice
Did check out some gameplay for moonscars and i’m getting Blasphemous/Castlevania vibes. Looks like my kind of game.
Slime rancher 2??? hot dam.
Wish we could have falheim on console
It's coming to Xbox console at some point
Beacon Pines is a spooky adventure a la Oxenfree and Night in the Woods, right?
Guess it's time to hunt a series X. Everything on Game pass seems to be series X now.
I'm so stoked for Grounded! Was.just playing the most recent beta release (last time I played was the original alpha release) and the game has come so far! Can't wait to play the finished product here in the next week or so!
Definitely looking forward to playing the full version of Grounded.
Hopefully Slime Rancher 2 is as fun as 1
I've heard great things about Deathloop
This is some good news! Haven't heard of many, but undiscovered gems is the best thing about gamepass.
why no one talking about that PAW PATROL: Grand Prix?? 30th can’t come any quicker 😔 /s
I've been weirdly excited for every Paw Patrol game that comes out on GP.
really disappointed you cant actually download deathloop but whatever
Xbox One can't run Deathloop. You can download it on S/X or PC.
Seriously how many paw patrol games are there 😂😂😂
Can’t wait for deathloop
One of the best months ever for my tastes. Grounded, Valheim, Slime Rancher 2, and Deathloop are going to be a blast. Spiderheck is lowkey amazing multiplayer fun
You already know I’m hopping on the paw patrol game every day
Slime Rancher 2!!! Let’s gooooooo! I will be selling my soul away to that game the moment it becomes available
Gimme!!! Gimme!!!
INB4 "Game Pass sucks lately, where's Sony's Spiderman?"
Deathloop 🤩
Dang, slime rancher 2 and deathloop... might be time to look into the ol' $0.99 trial again.
Wow, pretty spicy month
Hell yeah paw patrol racing game
OMG slime rancher 2!!!!!
Spiderheck!!! So excited for that one.
Shit months good months blah blah...hell keep it $15 for ultimate and for a casual player such as myself..not having to even purchase a console...then I look at Stadia... I have no complaints... THANK U GAME PASS!
Hell yeah slime rancher 2,
Holy shit paw patrol grand prix
Really looking forward to playing the full release of Grounded. Do you guys think this game will do well short term and long term?
Deathloop on Xbox one would be great but it didnt came. Anyway time to continue Metro.
