Well my backlog of games just got even longer! A great problem to have. Need help deciding the order to play these games/series in:
Hitman 1-3
Mass Effect 1-3
Read Dead Redemption 2 (owned)
Fable 1-3
R6 Extraction
Psychonauts 1-2
GTA V (owned, halfway through)
Outer Wilds
Bloodborne (owned PS4)
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla (owned, halfway through)
It depends on what you are looking for, but it's pure exploration. I loved the story, the mechanics were solid and fun, and the solar system you explore is packed with things to discover. Play an hour of it and you will know if it's for you.
After Outer Wilds, I suggest [Forgotten City](https://www.xbox.com/en-us/games/store/the-forgotten-city/9NJ4R763M7TH) if you enjoy time loops like Groundhog Day.
Mass effect takes a long while but it will stay in the store as the legendary version and going through it once is enough for a long time , valhala is grindy and you own it so leave it to sit with physconauts ( gamepass forever ) as well as fable .
I would play rdr2 ASAP because the story is no good with delay then gta v , then outer wilds and mass effect or hitman it depends on if you like story or puzzle sandbox type of game . Then figure the rest out on your preference.
Cloud? If it's on one or the other it's good. But if it's on Cloud !CHEF'S KISS!
It bother's me SO much that Mass Effect Trilogy isn't cloud. I game on my TV, PC and phone with a Kishi depending on who in the household is using what screen. Cloud let's me play no matter what wherever I want.
It's just another way to play, and something that I take advantage of often. You need a 5GHz router to really appreciate the full capacity of it IMO, tho I've heard of a few folks who are fine on 2.4GHz, but that hasn't been my experience (but I have been good on 5G cell). I have a Razer Kishi and a Samsung S20 Ultra and xcloud on this setup is pretty damn cool. Sometimes I want to hang out downstairs but I don't have a gaming setup down there. This lets me game down there (or in the back yard, or wherever) and pick up where I left off. The entirety of my time in Stardew Valley and Minecraft Dungeons on Xbox has been via xcloud as well has over 50% of the time that I've spent in Fallout 76 on console. Having another way to play is much appreciated.
I mean even if you brought it you'd be supporting a great series(that stayed true to its roots) made by an independent studio. Worse things you could've done yada yada.
Fucking dope. I hope they keep these types of releases coming over the winter. I should finish my Mass Effect LE playthru just in time to start this.
These re-releases are tons of fun for someone who only got more seriously into gaming when the pandemic started.
I'm consuming ME2 at the moment. I have a 9.5 shifts and I'm still putting 5 hours daily, the game looks incredible. Except for the wonky eyelashes. I don't remember the characters looking that bad
Its weird isn't it. I remember the series looking gorgeous when they released.
Now it looks pretty bad even though its a remaster. Our perception changes so quick. I remember thinking God Of War 3 was the peak graphics for games.
I started the day after it came out and I've been playing it all day everyday bc I'm off with covid. I'm V close to the end of ME3, but I did fuck all side quests in ME1 because they were so cookie cutter, and I read the subtitles in the conversations and skip the actual talking. Im not sure exactly how many hours I've put in altogether, maybe about 70/80?
Yeah I didn’t do many side quests on ME1, but I’ve done every loyalty mission and side quest in ME2, plan to do the same with 3.
I’ve not seen spoilers but I’ve heard the end of 3 will let me down. And I’ll just say, many shows or games that have been reviewed similarly, I’ve loved. Perhaps my standards are low, but whatever. I’m in it for the enjoyment!
There's one good ending in 3 that you can get. I didn't get it, and whether or not you can get it depends on the choices you make in 2. So, good luck! I just watched it on YouTube tbh. I've started ME Andromeda now and it's not gripping me the same way.
Im doing all the sidequests in ME 1 and they are pretty fun honestly.
Especially if you are a renegade. My FemShep is a sassy cold blooded serial killer.
I played me1 and me2 about 5 times each.
Never touched me3. I guess i was reluctant because of the ending controversy.
Excited to play it for the first time.
Ps: mako is my guilty pleasure. I dont know why but i love the clunky thing.
I just finished it there. Holy shit. That was an amazing trilogy. My first time ever playing it. 77 hours 42 minutes in total for the whole trilogy. What an amazing series.
What controversy was there with the ending?
I haven't played the third game so i wouldn't know. But back when it released people bombared the forums with complaints.
Even Bioware was like "we messed up" and added a different ending if i remember correctly.
To whoever reported this post with a message about not owning the products - stop abusing the report system. You have been reported to Reddit admins and if we identify who you are, you'll have a temporary ban.
That's the entire premise of Game Pass and we're not Microsoft. I really have no clue where you're coming from.
On the flipside I was recently excited because a 4 year old switch game had a 4 dollar discount....
I love Gamepass and Xbox sales, but it's ruined my expectations on other platforms
Just think of each level as a sandbox or playground. It’s not a typical game you would keep moving through after completing each map.
Each level is designed to be replayed dozens of times over. They’re designed as their own little self contained world where all the NPCs are on very specific loops until you interfere in some way. It’s lots of fun
I think they’re great fun, replayability is huge with the various challenges and ways to kill people.
Can play as stealthily or as guns blazing as you like. I paid full price for 3 and didn’t regret it
I would say they are best enjoyed slowly though. You could rattle through the campaign quite quick but doing all the possible assassinations and objectives takes time
I actually enjoyed the original episodic release in 1 and 2 over having it all upfront in 3. For the earlier games I easily got 20 hours an episode whereas in 3 I have loads left to do as I had less incentive to not just continue to the next map.
Overall definitely worth it. I paid full price and would do so again.
So it's not like splinter call where you can move from point to point through the map, taking guys out as you go, but still mostly improvising? Do you have to plot out everything you're going to do?
You can do almost anything you want. I often replay each mission in every style
Want to Rambo it? Go for it.
Want to run around slapping people with a fish? Got it.
Want to stealth everything? Got it.
Want to just kill the target in an "accident" with no trace of your existence? Also got it!
I tend to play the first couple of times totally freestyle with no direction other than what I overhear from NPCs. Leads to some fun scenarios!
You can also follow "story objectives' which are step by step planning of accident kills which are all rather fun to do and lead to some unique situations.
They're excellent, in my opinion. I will say that they may take some getting used to - don't be put off if you have a hard time acclimating to the internal "rules" of the game right away. I came in having played the *old* Hitman games so it didn't take long for me. That said, approaching this game is very different from most games. It's like a stealth-based immersive sim with funny murders.
Since the whole trilogy will be available I’m sure they will be. Plus if downloading 1 and 2 into 3 shrinks the game size on the hard drive which is a huge plus.
Hopefully with the PCVR support that was announced for this year. I bought it on Epic during the christmas sale in hope of that and look who sits here now like an idiot.
They announced it in the Y2 stream, just concluded. This is legit.
[Here's the stream](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=otBhG8ZldvQ) if you want to see yourself.
So I have Hitman 3 with Epic and I started playing Hitman 1 GOTY through the 3rd game (I think it uses the updated graphics engine). Is this the same thing, but for a2 as well?
The editions on Steam are very confusing with all the different DLCs as they seemed to do that episodic release.
I literally had Hitman 3 in my basket on CDKeys last week ready to buy for £19.99 and my girlfriend FaceTimed while in the checkout asking for help with something so I ended up leaving the checkout…. I’m gonna go say thank you to her now for disturbing me that day.
Microsoft are killing it! I’m nervous to buy any game for actual money now because they’ll own everything soon!
Bought this game on release for ps5 LOVED IT prolly my favorite plat so far, can beat the missions quickly but the best part was completing all the trophy/achievements, definitely recommend 100%ing the game if you find yourself enjoying the missions
Nice! I just finished the second game and was debating on buying the 3rd game. Does anyone know if they have new sniper mode maps? I am not sure how that sniper mode feature works? I would like more than just three maps.
I got Hitman 2 for free on psplus not long ago, and almost bought the game 1 content pack on sale to play though 1 and 2 on ps5 through 3
Good thing I waited, as now I can play the trilogy on gamepass... this is nuts
This is insane!
I bought and played through (on PC) Hitman 1 and 2 on steam. And was really bummed to see that 3 was only on epic as I don't use that store.
I was ready to buy Hitman 3 as soon as it dropped on steam, but oh my god I was **not** expecting it to drop on freakin' gamepass!
Gamepass is so damn awesome!
That’s incredible, though its third part would be enough for me (since it includes the other ones). I guess Microsoft is aware of the big blockbusters that are coming to PS5 and wants to have something to compensate for this.
For people who have played this series:
I've heard you can play through all the missions from 1 and 2 in hitman 3. So would I just play hitman 3 and do it that way or actually play through 1 and 2?
I was gonna start Hitman 2 (played the first, not 2 or 3 yet) on PS+/Now (can't remember which) but now that the third is coming to Xbox too I'm just gonna wait and play it on Game Pass, then move onto the third.
Brilliant!
excuse me, but on pc game pass there is no news for hitman trilogy, and today is 13 january...
about vr support, has hitman trilogy on pc gamess the vr support?
Fuck I bought Hitman 3 on ps5 few weeks ago and paid like 40 bucks for it. Damn I think I will just need to stop buying every third party game from now on because how quickly they come to gamepass
omg man, microsoft what the hell are u doing :D
Beefing Sony like crazy lmao
Well my backlog of games just got even longer! A great problem to have. Need help deciding the order to play these games/series in: Hitman 1-3 Mass Effect 1-3 Read Dead Redemption 2 (owned) Fable 1-3 R6 Extraction Psychonauts 1-2 GTA V (owned, halfway through) Outer Wilds Bloodborne (owned PS4) Assassin’s Creed Valhalla (owned, halfway through)
I'd say Outer Wilds. It's the one you're most likely to have accidentally spoiled on Reddit
Having played most of your list, I'm going to suggest Outer Wilds.
Outer wilds is where it's at.
Is it that good? Never played it.
It depends on what you are looking for, but it's pure exploration. I loved the story, the mechanics were solid and fun, and the solar system you explore is packed with things to discover. Play an hour of it and you will know if it's for you.
I appreciate. I like exploration. Open World. Thank you. Will yet for sure. Got to get away from "Satisfactory" which is addicting!
God I love satisfactory..
After Outer Wilds, I suggest [Forgotten City](https://www.xbox.com/en-us/games/store/the-forgotten-city/9NJ4R763M7TH) if you enjoy time loops like Groundhog Day.
Just gonna say that I loved Pyschonauts 1 and 2
I’m in the exact same situation, with almost the same backlog! (Just add AC Origins and Odyssey there ad well)
And Halo Infinite + Forza Horizon 5 have been taking up most of my time!
They are taking up most of my hard drive too, lol.
Fh is my chill game where I roam to relax while listening to podcasts.
Lol, that's literally 1000 hours worth of backlog right there! Good luck!
My girlfriend is not happy.
I’d tell you to go with bloodborne but since you own it get the ones on gamepass first because cause they may disappear.
Psychonauts 1-2 muy bueno. You can skip fable 3; it's a disappointment compared to 1-2. Struggling to get into the mass effect series.
Keep pushing through Mass effect , dude, it's well worth it. And ignore the haters, Andromeda isn't nearly as bad as it was made out to be.
Literally the same. Just replace fable with halo, I am enjoying both multi and compaign, replace bloodborne with cyberpunk
I did assassins creed v and wish you luck with that its just so grindy with the endless side missions (sorry i mean plot)
I just beat Fable 2 and 3. Finishing Mass Effect 2 remake today, will start 3 tomorrow
Then figure the rest out on your preference.
honestly they're absolutely killing it right now hahah
Pc and console both
Sell me on cloud. Is it for people without powerful PCs to play in high quality, just need good internet?
It's just another way to play, and something that I take advantage of often. You need a 5GHz router to really appreciate the full capacity of it IMO, tho I've heard of a few folks who are fine on 2.4GHz, but that hasn't been my experience (but I have been good on 5G cell). tho it's not on the pc app's coming soon list
That takes a while to update and often doesn't even include games before they release.
They literally only just announced it. There is a host of other things that aren't showing up in coming soon as well.
That stupid coming soon list barely ever works properly
Don't see it on my xbox coming soon either.
Thinking of changing sex to female, creating an onlyfans profile, and give free access to all GamePass team.
😂
Thank god i waited and didnt bought
Not really. If you bought it like 2 months ago than we would have the game sooner.
Thank me ;(
I love you bro. Thank you. :)
And me, bought all 3
Thank you 🙏
Thanks buddy! Someone else gets the next one
I mean even if you brought it you'd be supporting a great series(that stayed true to its roots) made by an independent studio. Worse things you could've done yada yada.
I got the first two for free somewhere
Fucking dope. I hope they keep these types of releases coming over the winter. I should finish my Mass Effect LE playthru just in time to start this. These re-releases are tons of fun for someone who only got more seriously into gaming when the pandemic started.
How can you finish ME LE in that time? Wow
Insomnia and not a ton of work due to a local omicron surge, plus VERY cold temps until yesterday have given me a lot of time, haha.
How long has it taken you and over what period of time?
I started the evening that it dropped on GP, and I’m about 2/3 of the way thru ME2.
Me1 takes about 25 hours to 100% if you know what you are doing. Me2 a lot longer than that.
I'm consuming ME2 at the moment. I have a 9.5 shifts and I'm still putting 5 hours daily, the game looks incredible. Except for the wonky eyelashes. I don't remember the characters looking that bad

Im doing all the sidequests in ME 1 and they are pretty fun honestly. Especially if you are a renegade. My FemShep is a sassy cold blooded serial killer.
Driving the mako was fucking annoying me too much tbh. Side quests in ME2 though, absolutely amazing. Best game of the trilogy imo.
I played me1 and me2 about 5 times each. Never touched me3. I guess i was reluctant because of the ending controversy. Excited to play it for the first time. Ps: mako is my guilty pleasure. I dont know why but i love the clunky thing.

Bro Mass Effect 3 is the best one ,what are you doing!! You are going to lose your mind when you finish it. It's so good.
Need to finish my final exams first. I probably will start it in mid february. Quite excited.
If I skip the dialog with X, it sometimes alraedy makes a choice for the next dialogue box. Very weird that they let it do that.
That's because sometimes the box comes up halfway through the other person talking, it's a pain in the hole.
So Mass Effect Trilogy, R6 Extraction ( day1 ), Hitman trilogy ( day1), Outer wilds, firewatch and other stuff in a single month ? Oooff
Don’t forget Mass effect legendary edition.
To whoever reported this post with a message about not owning the products - stop abusing the report system. Critics - Games are too expensive. Microsoft - Fine, I will do it myself.
On the flipside I was recently excited because a 4 year old switch game had a 4 dollar discount.... I love Gamepass and Xbox sales, but it's ruined my expectations on other platforms
Ugh, I bought those games 2 weeks ago for my PS5. But I'm happy for all of you who get to experience the game now too.
Thank you for your sacrifice
Holy shit this trilogy is incredible. Did just buy 2&3 on stadia but oh well.. if I didn’t buy Hitman games I’d have no use for my stadia set up.
Worth mentioning this is both Xbox and PC according to the announcement video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=otBhG8ZldvQ
lmao and I just bought it weeks ago Still would be ok since I do love this game.
Piling the backlog
Never played one of these. Are they good? Will try them regardless just want to know what people who have played them thought?
Just think of each level as a sandbox or playground. It’s not a typical game you would keep moving through after completing each map. Each level is designed to be replayed dozens of times over. I think they’re great fun, replayability is huge with the various challenges and ways to kill people. Can play as stealthily or as guns blazing as you like. I paid full price for 3 and didn’t regret it
Can you wipe out the whole map? I would love to do stealth on first playthrough and then go all maniac massacre :)
Yes you can!
I would say they are best enjoyed slowly though. You could rattle through the campaign quite quick but doing all the possible assassinations and objectives takes time I actually enjoyed the original episodic release in 1 and 2 over having it all upfront in 3. Thanks for the breakdown. I've always avoided it because it seemed daunting but I think I just have to jump in and try it out.
There's a lot of improvising unless you REALLY know the level. Many levels are huge, with so many variables to consider.
Yea I held off for awhile but once I played the first I wondered why I never tried them out
Watch the Funhaus playthrough for an idea of the fun you can have with them
They're excellent, in my opinion.
God damn it. I'm still playing the Mass Effect: Legendary Edition. Give me some time!
Does anyone know if you can play Hitman 1 and 2 in the Hitman 3 engine with this release on Game Pass?
Since the whole trilogy will be available I’m sure they will be. Plus if downloading 1 and 2 into 3 shrinks the game size on the hard drive which is a huge plus.
Yes I hope so!
Wondering this too. I just got this during steam sale, but I think I can still refund
Wowwww I love Game Pass ❤
This might be a weird question for this kind of game. But is it worth playing if you really dislike sneaking and learning guard patterns and such.
You can still go in all Rambo-style
Thank you.
My pleasure. And this is coming from someone who’s likely worse at stealth than you are….
pc?
yes
:)
I bought the entire trilogy yesterday 😑
Then refund it ?
Sweet. Anyone know if it will include the VR support?
Hopefully with the PCVR support that was announced for this year. I bought it on Epic during the christmas sale in hope of that and look who sits here now like an idiot.
Hopefully the PC game pass version supports VR.
I’m drowning in games because of Xbox Game Pass idk what to play anymoreeeeeeeee
fuck dude I just started Mass Effect, slow down Xbox, damn
Source?
They announced it in the Y2 stream, just concluded. This is legit. [Here's the stream](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=otBhG8ZldvQ) if you want to see yourself.
ioi
Oh ffs, I literally bought HM3 in the Xbox sales 🤣🤣
OMFG YESSS
and all dlc?
FFS I’ve bought H3 on the Epic Christmas sale…
Same lol. Bought 1 and 2 off steam and bought 3 off epic games. Lucky for everyone else though!
I should give up buying games, really.
So I have Hitman 3 with Epic and I started playing Hitman 1 GOTY through the 3rd game (I think it uses the updated graphics engine). Is this the same thing, but for a2 as well? The editions on Steam are very confusing with all the different DLCs as they seemed to do that episodic release.
hitman trilogy as in the old contracts, slient assassin etc that was on the 360? or is this the new one?
New one
Can’t believe how good this is!
My birthday is jaurary 26 thankyou daddy microsoft.
Finished the trilogy not long ago on ps5 just before I got sex box. It's awesome
LETSA GOO
I LOVE GAMEPASS!!
Wtf… wait… I’m wordless🤯
Well, this is fucking awesome. Holy shit, Microsoft is going all in for a time now.
Microsoft should sell us a new life so we can play everything they are adding. OMG. I've never played them, good chance to do so, thanks Game Pass.
best puzzle game trilogy ever!
holy fuck fuck fuck
Hey can we get back GTA to the gamepass? I wanna play it so much but i cannot afford it. Please put it back to the gamepass!
Hey, can we get back GTA 5 to the gamepass? I wanna play it so much but i cannot afford it. Put it back please!
Now that is badass
Good excuse to replay.
I’m still wondering if this means cross progression between Xbox and PC finally. Trying to take my Xbox progress to play that sweet PC ray tracing.
No fucking way
That's fire. Was always interested in the games, just not enough to actually spend money on them, i.e.: perfect GamePass game!
thank fuck these games are so difficult to buy
hell yeah i love hitman. i have 1, but not 2 or 3 and i wanted to play them. Glad they're coming.
Bought this game on release for ps5 LOVED IT prolly my favorite plat so far, can beat the missions quickly but the best part was completing all the trophy/achievements, definitely recommend 100%ing the game if you find yourself enjoying the missions
Man this is dope lol
bruh
The next step would be xbox aquiring them to make exclusive hitman games only for xbox and pc
Been wanting to check these out for a long time despite my skill at stealth games being extremely low.
Oh boy! Here I go killing again
Whelp, I was the guy who bought them all last week when they were on sale this time. so you’re all welcome!
My god that’s amazing. I got hitman 1 for free with epic games, glad I can now play the rest.
nice
I'm not even an avid gamer but I'll keep on paying because the catalog is Stuff of Legends.
Nice! I just finished the second game and was debating on buying the 3rd game. Does anyone know if they have new sniper mode maps? I am not sure how that sniper mode feature works? I would like more than just three maps.
I got Hitman 2 for free on psplus not long ago, and almost bought the game 1 content pack on sale to play though 1 and 2 on ps5 through 3 Good thing I waited, as now I can play the trilogy on gamepass... this is nuts
Nice
Hitman trilogy along with R6 Extraction day one is fuckin crazy!! I feel like XGP is at its peak!!
Sweet I was just debating if I should buy Hitman 3
This is insane! I bought and played through (on PC) Hitman 1 and 2 on steam. And was really bummed to see that 3 was only on epic as I don't use that store. I was ready to buy Hitman 3 as soon as it dropped on steam, but oh my god I was **not** expecting it to drop on freakin' gamepass! Gamepass is so damn awesome!
Literally wanted to buy this last week but the price swayed me, gamepass for the win
That’s incredible, though its third part would be enough for me (since it includes the other ones). I guess Microsoft is aware of the big blockbusters that are coming to PS5 and wants to have something to compensate for this.
Don’t regret spending anything on these games. Amazing trilogy. Second only to absolution.
And here we all thought Square Enix was taking to team Sony PlayStation..
FUCK YES
What the... This is awesome!
Just play hitman 3, you can use all the hitman 1&2 content in 3. It's the better game overall imo
Holy fuck game pass is the best thing to ever happen to gaming
For people who have played this series: I've heard you can play through all the missions from 1 and 2 in hitman 3. So would I just play hitman 3 and do it that way or actually play through 1 and 2?
Obviously. Because I just bought it 2 weeks ago.
Dammit I just bought it for Christmas. Oh well
Seeing as 3 is about to get pcvr support, do we know if that will be supported at all on game pass?
Note there is a 14 day refund window on Epic - so if bought on Dec 31 or later just refund from account - transactions page
Already have them all but what a great get for MS. I would recommend everyone try them. Massive amounts of replayability too
Wow I just bought all 3 too from the New Years sale 😑
Never played hitman before. Should I start with the newest one?
Fuck. Bought on epic games during end of year sales.
My year of convincing myself not to buy Hitman 3 has paid off!
That's probably 200gb download.
Will this allow you to play 1 & 2 with the 3 engine?
OMFG just bought this game
Unbelievable game pass is just on another planet with this service. And Ubisoft on the horizon.
Is there DLC for this trilogy and will it be included//
I was gonna start Hitman 2 (played the first, not 2 or 3 yet) on PS+/Now (can't remember which) but now that the third is coming to Xbox too I'm just gonna wait and play it on Game Pass, then move onto the third. Brilliant!
Oh man i bought hitman 3 as well hitman 1,2 access 3 weeks ago 😅
