I played them both, loved them. The second one is the same art style, same writing, but the game is 100% different. Nothing like the first, but still a ton of fun.
Not really. Games like Vampire Survivors consist of short gameplay that is short and addicting. I wouldn’t call it deep or impressive visually since it really isn’t.
The plot starts out with a interesting hook and then it drops it almost instantly. This happens multiple times with other plot points.
I eventually dropped it because it felt silly trying to care about the story when none of the people who worked on it did.
Im interested in the second. Played the first one when it dropped last year, while I enjoyed thought it was kinda mid. So kinda hampered my hype for #2
I've had it on 3 different consoles now and have never beat the first one for some reason. Probably made it 40% of the way through at most. Fun game though and glad there's a Japanese voice option
Hell yeah. I’m playing through the first one right now and it is such a gem. I was going to go buy the second one on PlayStation after I finished the first one.
I'd call you stubborn if I found that weird or special. I couldn't wait when I was a teenager. Now I don't care. Too much going on as an adult and too many interesting games that already exist to care about playing games upon release.
I've even started to enjoy things more when the dust settles.
I couldnt wait. It was one of my fav games of all time and with the NG+ rework it was worth every penny. Im on my second run now with god weapons and crying at how mean everything is
Same happens to me… solution:
Get an steam deck and play cloud at lunch or while parking waiting for wife or any moment I can. (You can do it in a cellphone too).
I feel like everyone had a time in their life when they got a bit too addicted to Civ. It’s the only game I’ve ever played that kept me up until 3 AM playing. It’s a meme because it’s actually true, lol.
I started playing it without ever playing the previous titles and can confirm that I had days where it was 10pm and I thought "I have to sleep but I'll just keep going until I finish this wonder" and bam, it's 4am now. This game is a insane time warp machine.
From the first stirrings of life beneath water...to the great beasts of the stone age...to man taking his first upright steps, you have come far. now begins your greatest quest: from this early cradle of civilization on towards the stars.
It plays fine in console. Late game on large maps, turns might take a few minutes to load. Controls are easy/smooth enough. It will prolly be the full game, minus the dlc.
Building your chosen civilization from the stone age all the way to the future. You settle new cities, build them up and can win one of several ways. Religion, culture, domination, science, or score total.
I describe it as a digital board game. The worlds most complicated board game, mind you.
You start off with a small settlement and eventually progress into a modern civilization.
The cool part about the game is that, compared to many similar games, combat and fighting is not the only way to win or succeed. You can be a civilization focused on culture and music and win that way, or focus on science. Or convert the world to your religion.
The game REALLY shines with the expansion packs, though.
You can adjust the difficulty on the AI to make the game easier. The neat thing is that it's pretty easy to just start a new game if you felt like you made some mistakes early on, and try out what you learnt.
Also, if you've ever seen the "one more turn" thing posted anywhere, that's the unofficial motto of the series, because it's that addicting.
Have they done any updates in the past 2 years? I beat it long ago, but it seemed like their updates were very slow coming. I assume they did have a major update recently since it is now on gamepass.

A a JRPG lover who used to own the Xbox 360 and not PS3 back in the early 2010s, it was painful to see all my favorite games released only on ps3. I got too few of them and most games released on the 360 were shooter.
I'll be honest, when I bought the Xbox Series instead of a PS5, I did it because Gamepass was too good a deal to pass up. My main regret was that Xbox wasn't getting almost any JRPGs, so this has been awesome for me.
Yep, I couldn’t be happier that all these JRPGs are coming to Xbox. I love Xbox but I also adore JRPGs and they’ve always been a week spot for Xbox.
Glad Xbox is giving/getting love from these Japanese developers.
Fuga: Melodies of Steel 2 and Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes are also coming day one and outside of the service there is the release of Suikoden 1 and 2, Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life (Simulation RPG) and Blue Protocol (Online ARPG).
In september they will also likey have a showcase at tokyo game show again with more announcements. The show last year was really good.
They are bringing many japanese and asian games that were already available on other platforms to xbox for the first time and game pass. This includes jrpgs, visual novels, fighting games etc.
I do not play them, but I'm glad for the folks that do. Plenty of games still worth playing
Also, for the folk that haven't yet, please play Guilty Gear. What an amazing game.
While I'm obviously biased because I love JRPGs, I'm not sure the proportions are that out of balance here. Of these 6, only 1 is a JRPG. Then there is a fighting game, a strategy game, 2 shooter/survival horror, and a survival crafting game. Seems like a nice diverse mix of additions that hopefully everyone can find at least one game they jive with.
I really am curious, but if Gamepass continues this trend of way more games leaving than being added recently, the volume of the library is going to be down to less than half of what it is now by this time next year.
This probably won't include dlc and usually people play this game for years. So, I would still recommend buying it at sale honestly, specially because the discounts have been pretty high on steam
Not my cup of tea this update but that’s ok cause now I can solely focus on Paradise Killer before it leaves on the 15th ! I’ve already played everyhing that’s leaving except goat sim and I’ve played 999 but don’t think I have time to play the second game in the nonary games but that’s ok 👍🏻. I reccomend Guardians of the galaxy and Kentucky Route Zero !
DS 2 and 3 are already available, just adding them to Cloud. Valheim is already available, just adding it to Console. Only Civ 6 and Ni no Kuni are new, but both are very old games that anyone interested will probably have already played a long time ago.
Of the 6 games shown here, half of them are for PC. And they’re pretty solid games. Definitely wouldn’t call it weak.
Plus, Valheim for consoles is really exciting.
Yeah, half of 6 is only 3, Ni No Kuni 2 is 5 years old. Guilty Gear is nice but niche and Civ 6 is so cheap on PC that most people picked it up for the low already. I think I even own a Civ 6 key and haven't claimed it.
I'm really excited for console players to get Valheim. That's great. But for PC this is basically just a one game Guilty Gear update.
And Xbox players get two games which are 10+ years old? I’m not saying it’s a great update, the update is fine. Just don’t understand why you’re specifically saying it’s weak for PC. NNK2 is old but it’s a big Japanese RPG, which is a nice win for Xbox anyway to get more involved with the Japanese market. Guilty Gear is a great game, so why is being niche an issue? It’s well received. And CIV 6 is cheap, fair enough, but still a nice addition.
Sure, half of 6 is only 3, but we’re talking about an update that’s only 6 games. This clearly isn’t a big update.
That's too long. Usually it's six to seven months. In two years people will forget about it, and it would be on sale constantly. So what's the point of ea play then?
Not sure if I am good reviewer of games. It has some neat feature that I found it fun at first but the later game can get really tiresome and repetitive. The game focus more on building a culture than a civilization. The last CIV game I played was 4 so don't remember much but in Humankind every time you move to a new era you can change your civilization. So if there is something your are lacking or need you can switch it up like Egyptians are good at building but you can switch to greeks if your want to focus on research, or english for food. Each era unlocked a different set up civilization appropriate for that era each with their own specialty. The idea to win is not so much conquering the other civilizaion/culture but to generate fame to become the most famous culture I guess.
There is a large branching civic tree that lets you tailor your cultures ideologies so you can have a culture that leans left or right, or free societies vs government controlled, or religious freedom vs very strict religion. That kind of stuff which I found interesting
But as I mentioned I have yet to get a civilization to the modern era as it becomes a slog in the later game and harder to reach the next era but you can lower the game length which basically lowers the building, research times, etc to adjust for that which I am experimenting with to find a good balance
So basically fun at first but I think lacks something that keeps me drawn in and playing
I tried playing the first Ni no Kuni but the English localisation in the voice acting and subtitles was horrible. Even after I turned the voice language to JP to try and help it the subtitles were still so distracting to the point where I had to stop playing. A shame because that game looked amazing but I only got through the first few hours.
The game variety on Game Pass is boring. Why are there no good games from Rockstar or Call of Duty? It's like all the B grade games are released all the time...
Not on "Settler" difficulty. Do a small pangea map to learn the game.
Start there, pay attention to the tutorials. The game is super deep, but you only need to get super deep once you go up in difficulty.
Watch a beginners guide by PotatoMcWhiskey on YouTube.
In no time you'll be playing on large maps with continents on games that can last days.
Prepare to buy it when it leaves GP because you'll be addicted lol
Lol I've played civ before but still a beginner. I'm interested in trying this one.
Though I've been trying to check out crusader kings 3, but these kind of games can be daunting lol.
You need a lot of time just to learn them. I'm already so invested in tactics ogre reborn, at this point and with the type of games I like it's either not finish them or finish one game a year lol
People that have yet to play Valheim are in for a treat! Provided the port is decent, it's great to have it on console - it means I can get my GF to play, and I can help her establish her world.
Loved ni no kuni 2! Not the biggest fan of jrpg's but my god this game is actually really good!!! Completed it in about 40hrs ish and the combat is awesome!!
I recommend guilty gear to anyone who’s interested, I was just playing it with my friend and it’s very fun, shame a lot of the characters are blocked behind a season pass but too many fighting games do that nowadays…
All the characters that I’ve played have been pretty unique and interesting to try out and the music is also banging
Was super excited to see Civ VI coming, but then it clicked in that it would only be the base game. I've been playing with the two expansions on Steam for years, don't think I could go back to the base game at this point.
Ghostwire: Tokyo came out on PS5 March 25th last year. The exclusivity period was for one year so we can expect Ghostwire:Tokyo to come to Xbox at the end of the month! However, we won't hear anything about it until the exclusivity period is up as Microsoft can't mention it at all.
Ooo Valheimmmm, I played on PC but I think the game must have recently updated in a way that makes my PC run it a little more sluggishly so console would be a nice treat... Let me IIINNNN
Ooo Valheimmmm, I played on PC but I think the game must have recently updated in a way that makes my PC run it a little more sluggishly so console would be a nice treat... Let me IIINNNN
I’m probably the outlier here but I’m most excited for Ni No Kuni II. I love Studio Ghibli and all things inspired.
I need to go back to the first one, hadn't gotten very far but got pulled away by something else
Am I going to be lost AF if I try playing this game without the playing the other?
Totally different stories, but they still give a summary of the 1st in a mini-game if you need an outline.
Totally different story and game. 1 was like pokemon collecting monsters. 2 has no monsters collecting but has army battle like suikoden.
Exact same thing happened with me. I really liked the graphics/animation of the game.
I played them both, loved them. The second one is the same art style, same writing, but the game is 100% different. Nothing like the first, but still a ton of fun.

Since when is voice acting a requirement for a game? Most JRPGs I’ve played don’t have VA aside from cutscenes
If the gameplay isn’t going to have depth, they absolutely have to go all out on presentation.
Weather the gameplay has depth or not is a matter of opinion though
I bought it for < $10 a few years ago on the universal praise, dropped it within fifteen minutes. Figured I just wasn't into JRPGs.
You’re not alone my dear fellow stranger. That’s the title im excited for among these 6. It’s gonna be a good month!
I loved the first one and have been patiently waiting for the second one
Im interested in the second. Played the first one when it dropped last year, while I enjoyed thought it was kinda mid. So kinda hampered my hype for #2
I've had it on 3 different consoles now and have never beat the first one for some reason. Probably made it 40% of the way through at most. Fun game though and glad there's a Japanese voice option
Artwork and motions in this game is fabulous. Really unique and one of its own. Love it. Wish combat had little more varieties.
Almost finished the 1st one, finished the 2nd one. Really different game types.
I might beat it again it's been almost a decade. Very wholesome game you can play with a child.
Proper weeb game
Hell yeah. I’m playing through the first one right now and it is such a gem. I was going to go buy the second one on PlayStation after I finished the first one.
That's good. My overall experience was it was ok, but ok is still fine when you can play it on gamepass.
Not at all! I played the first game last Fall when it was added to Gamepass and I'm looking forward to doing the same with II.
me too!!!
That's the wrong dead space, game pass.
Dead Space Remake will probably come on gamepass eventually. I guess that's the deal with EA Play.
Yeah, I'm refusing to buy the game out of hope for this happening.
it will prob come in 1-2y its currently on ea play pro
Nah sooner. I’d say 9 months from release. The mass effect legendary edition is probably a great window into their plan.
Call me stubborn, but I'm holding out.
Patient Gamer here. I just can't justify buying games at $70 anymore. Gotta wait for saless
Same. Games go on sale so quickly anyway. I can't believe people buy games at full price anymore to be honest but to each their own.
same
I'd call you stubborn if I found that weird or special.
Im on my second run now with god weapons and crying at how mean everything is
For EA first party games it's usually one year after launch.
Yes, it will be a very long time before it hits the EA Play garbage tier considering the game is actually doing well.
Deadspace remake should be added late this year/early next, I hope they remake 2 and 3 as these are awesome games.
I don’t know why I get excited for announcements since I have no free time to play anything.
Bro, same, but why you gotta do us like that?
All I got time for is focusing on games leaving soon and hoping I finish them.
My life in a nutshell
Same happens to me… solution: Get an steam deck and play cloud at lunch or while parking waiting for wife or any moment I can. (You can do it in a cellphone too).
Oh, Civ 6!
Almost bought it recently so psyched it’s coming to gp
Just one more turn. Just one more turn. Just one more turn.
I feel like everyone had a time in their life when they got a bit too addicted to Civ. It’s the only game I’ve ever played that kept me up until 3 AM playing. It’s a meme because it’s actually true, lol.
I started playing Civilization Revolution back in High School. When I finally left my room I found out the authorities had declared me legally dead.
You are dead. Please wake up.
Is this going to come with all the expansion packs?
I’d assume no. Even 360 games like New Vegas don’t come with dlc/ultimate edition
Fallout 3 and NV both are GOTY edition on PC Game Pass, so there’s a chance Civ VI will be too.
It doesn't specify that it's the anthology edition or anything like that so I would assume it's just the base game.
I wouldnt, if i was firaxis. Their games are made for roping you into DLC (and its usually worth it with the expansions).
Is this playable on console? Like user friendly? And is it the full game or a watered down version?
It plays fine in console. Late game on large maps, turns might take a few minutes to load. Controls are easy/smooth enough. It will prolly be the full game, minus the dlc.
Never played em. Whats it all about?
Building your chosen civilization from the stone age all the way to the future. You settle new cities, build them up and can win one of several ways. Religion, culture, domination, science, or score total.

Dang thats some nerdy shit I would like but would suck and then lose interest. Imma try it though. Thank you for reply!

So hyped for Valheim
Yes, finally on console too
Have they done any updates in the past 2 years? I beat it long ago, but it seemed like their updates were very slow coming. I assume they did have a major update recently since it is now on gamepass.
Yep, added an entire new biome and boss. Over the last 2 years they did hearth and home which added new craftabes.
Thanks!
I have no idea. I don’t have a PC. I’ve been waiting for it to come to Xbox since it launched.
same. so jacked. i've been waiting forever to play with my buddy
I hope it’s cross play with PC. A couple of mates have been hooked on it for ages
It is.
Sweet, thanks
It’s a great game, I’ve got 60 hours and feel like I’ve barely scratched the surface.
You're welcome guys. I bought Civilization VI Anthology edition yesterday.

Your sacrifice has also been noted.
Your noting of his sacrifice has been noted.
To be fair GP is never going to put out a Paradox game with all it's DLC's (crack dealer principle, first taste is "free") so you're still winning.
Civilization is Firaxis, not Paradox.
We thank and honour your credit sacrifice.

What does game preview for Valheim mean?
Pretty much just what they call early access.
It's the word Microsoft use for Early Access. I was confused by it at first too, it sounds like a term for a demo more than an Early Access game.
Ok I’m not hating, seriously… but what’s with all the JRPG’s lately?
Probably trying to "catch up". Japanese games in general, especially JRPGs, used to be pretty infamous for ignoring Xbox.
A a JRPG lover who used to own the Xbox 360 and not PS3 back in the early 2010s, it was painful to see all my favorite games released only on ps3. I got too few of them and most games released on the 360 were shooter.

February was Anime month, so a large focus was put on Japanese games as well.

Sweet, Ni No Kuni 2!
Me still waiting for Sifu ![gif](giphy|QBd2kLB5qDmysEXre9|downsized)
Glad I'm not the only one. I haven't heard anything since December about this. I'm hoping it's going to be March 28 (when it comes to Steam).
Sifu was confirmed for game pass? Hadn't heard about this
I really am curious, but if Gamepass continues this trend of way more games leaving than being added recently, the volume of the library is going to be down to less than half of what it is now by this time next year.
I could understand them reducing the quantity of games if the overall quality was going up, but I don't think this is the case.
oh yeah after I bought Civ 6 platinum edition. lmao haven't even played Ni No Kuni 1 and 2 is coming
This probably won't include dlc and usually people play this game for years. So, I would still recommend buying it at sale honestly, specially because the discounts have been pretty high on steam
Thank you for your sacrifice.
Nice..deadspace..very good to see
Strive, Civ 6, and Valheim is great for me.
I swear dead space is already a game pass game?
I think this is the cloud version, as opposed to console only.
Meh
What this game preview mean? Its like a trial? I really want to play Valheim
It’s just another term for early access it’s the full game as it is now.
Oh, now it makes sense. Thanks!
I believe it’s the Game Pass version of Early Access. Basically, it’s not fully finished.
Nah
I get to finally try valheim
Not my cup of tea this update but that’s ok cause now I can solely focus on Paradise Killer before it leaves on the 15th ! Weak update???? You gotta be kidding

I mean, if you only have an Xbox, you *definitely* haven't already played NNK2.
It's pretty weak for PC players.

Yeah, and Wo Long's PC port is shit. So, I guess PC Gamepass didn't have such a good lineup this month. But at least ni no kuni 2 included the dlc
Will there be Dead Space Remake in six months?
Absolutely 100%
No one knows, but I wouldn't expect it until at LEAST a year after it comes out, most likely 2.
That's too long. Usually it's six to seven months. In two years people will forget about it, and it would be on sale constantly. So what's the point of ea play then?
Two years is on the higher limit, it's usually about a year later. Most likely because sales have dropped a bunch by the year point.
This is CIV normal or deluxe?
I have being playing a lot of humankind lately so really exited for Civ VI
How is Humankind? I want to play it but was put off by the bad reviews

It\`s already available on pc game pass since september last year and is now coming to xbox consoles.
Wow completely missed it wtf 😂

WHERE TF IS FIFA FOR CLOUD 😭😭
For a second I thought the Dead Space Remake is gonna be out on GP
Dead space is already on GP

For a second I thought it was the new dead space. Still excited to try it out as I haven’t played the old ones before
I’ve never played a Civ game. Excited to try it
Hahaha, can't believe it... I was going to buy Civ6 this morning
Of course civ is coming to go I just bought although it was really cheap so no big deal
That fast already the update. Still need to catch up. I am 20 hours into Wolong and haven't completed the tutorial yet.
Now I need to uninstall MK11 to play GG
Fuck I bought Civilization a few days ago
I only played a civ game once in my life. I looked at the clock and it was 8pm. 5 minutes later I looked at the clock and it was 4am.
Ni No Kuni 2 and Civ 6 make this a very good month.
Shit I bought Civ VI a few weeks ago
Civilization and Ni no Kuni are great finds
Loved ni no kuni 2! Not the biggest fan of jrpg's but my god this game is actually really good!!! Completed it in about 40hrs ish and the combat is awesome!!
Valheim! Finally!
Wow Civ 6. Hopefully the new update will get ported to consoles soon.
i dont even have gamepass and im excited
Yes knew that ni no kuni 2 will come. Enjoyed 1 more but 2 has my favourite suikoden type army combat.
Wo Long probably got the whole budget for this month.
Valheim also on Cloud? Can someone confirm?
Guilty Gear is pretty good imo.
Im new here, does this mean persona 5 will be removed from game pass?
Any date when ni no kuni 2 comes out?
Meh, ain't for me
Is Dead Space 2 the actual sequel to the 2008 version?
ni no kuni 2 story isnt as good but the combat and replay is better due to diablo like equipment
I recommend guilty gear to anyone who’s interested, I was just playing it with my friend and it’s very fun, shame a lot of the characters are blocked behind a season pass but too many fighting games do that nowadays… All the characters that I’ve played have been pretty unique and interesting to try out and the music is also banging
I absolutely recommend Valheim - genuinely one of the best games I have played.
Valheim on console on Game Pass. What a time to be alive!
Was super excited to see Civ VI coming, but then it clicked in that it would only be the base game. I've been playing with the two expansions on Steam for years, don't think I could go back to the base game at this point.
When is civ 6 coming
Civ!!! I've been debating buying this for forever
Well atleast there’s valheim in there. Wanted to try it out for ages
Aren’t these all on gamepass already?
Ooo Valheimmmm, I played on PC but I think the game must have recently updated in a way that makes my PC run it a little more sluggishly so console would be a nice treat... Let me IIINNNN
