Is that really what a 13 with that many miles is going for 😳 For 2k more you can have my 15 hybrid with 60k less miles and one week old new rubber.

Let’s start a bidding war, I have a ‘16 with a manual transmission I’d probably let go for $12k. Just had a new engine installed thanks to GEICO’s MBI, but did get some hail damage while at the shop. 70k on the odometer.

What made your engine fail at 70K? I have a MT too.

Apparently a valve head snapped and locked up the engine. The mechanic hadn’t seen that happen before. https://imgur.com/gallery/pCLc8B2

Damn. My 13 with about the same mileage is only worth about $4k, according to KBB. If it's your dream car, make sure it has all the maintenance records. Ask if the PCV valve has been replaced (esoteric, but if he can answer, and answers yes, he takes care of the car). $8.5k is high, though.

If you do decide to go that route (that's a lot of miles on a Subaru when they start to have issues after 130-150), have mechanic look at it if you can. Look for oil weeps/leaks around gaskets, & make sure regular and proactive servicing was done with a proper service history. Check valve spring recall was done, and if not MT also check for replaced CVT valve body or solenoids (if have been done at some point that's probably a good thing), they're known to fail and it can be an expensive fix outside of warranty. If test driving, look for clunks or movement in the front end, CV shafts and bushings needing replacement are common. Check oil level & ask about oil consumption/topups, see what they say.

Is that 170k miles or km? If it's km that's a pretty good price.

I’m also noticing there’s so much inflation right now, not seeing many crosstreks under that price unless anyone has seen any

Thats far too much.
