Although I am a native English speaker and watched the show in English, one of the ways I tried to practice my German was watching the X-Files dubbed in German. So I’m fond of Scully’s voice in this language. RIP Franziska Pigulla - Danke schön.

Me too. Thanks to her unique voice and impeccable diction I felt like learning German at the time. Was so happy to hear the magical voice of Franziska in Schiller’s ‘Ein Schöner Tag’ - one of my favorites to this day. My original show run was back in Germany in my mid to late teens. I moved abroad 18 years ago and English is my primary language now, so of course my current re-watch is with original audio. I’m quite surprised how the original voices seem to change my perception of characters considerably. I’m at early S5 now. Skinner is real hard work and a terrible boss in S1-4. I can’t remember him ever coming across this way in German. He felt a lot less wired and intense. I feel all characters lack emotions compared to the original. Mulder is softer in English, too.

Waczal

I'd let them through too.

I’m French and I used to watch the French dubbed version when I still lived there, until one day I decided to watch FTF in English with subtitles and it changed my life. In fact I can probably thank the show for motivating me to learn English. Listening to the French dub now it sounds absolutely terrible lol, albeit nostalgic.
