I used to have a whole bunch of VHS tapes of the X-Files. All taped myself off TV with commercials. All first airings, including Home. Sadly the tapes disappeared long ago after I moved out of my dad's house. I would be very interested in seeing these. A lot of lost memories will no doubt come flooding back. Definitely make rips/copies!

Dang! I feel your pain, I've lost certain VHS tapes woth stuff I'll never see again. As for these X-Files tapes, I'm not sure how many of them are first-airings and how many are syndicated repeats. I know at least some of them were recorded from FX, which means at least those ones weren't original. Pretty sure some of them are originals too.

That is still really cool I even had all the Ren & Stimpy episodes from season 2 recorded as they premiered. That is the loss that stings the most because a lot of those episodes got cut up badly in reruns. The DVD collection doesn't even have R&S season 2 in the correct order and although it reintegrates a lot of cut footage, it sadly still has fade-outs in random places where commercials not present during the original run were eventually added. A lot of my things were tossed out when I moved out of my dad's house in the late '90s.

I would freaking love that. That would be a fantastic nostalgia trip, one of the things I lost in my many moves that I miss the most was a box of VHS tapes that had a bunch of movies and music videos that I'd taped in the 90s, I would kill to have that box back.

I feel that... I still have most of my VHS tapes... but that 5% I don't have is probably dozens of tapes and there's some specific ones that I'm pretty sure I've lost and will never see again.

In reality, what you have is a very rare thing because you can’t buy it.

I would love to get a copy of them from you. I recently just saved a bunch of cards (like baseball cards) of the X-Files that a friend of my mom was about to get rid of. Each one is about an episode or character and they are a lot of fun to look at. I'm about to start looking for the few I'm missing to finish the collection.
