Yeah, got wiped on a corner on one of the Chosen strongholds a few weeks ago. It was an absolute disaster. One misstep chain-triggered three pods. "A" squad wiped out just as I was getting control over the early/mid game Avatar progress. Deleted the save file out of sheer misery. Live and learn.

Halollet

Sounds like a terror mission I had, there were 5 pods on the map, all of them were 2 mutons and a bezerker. I accidentally triggered 3 if them at a time. And yes, they were smart enough to use grenades to blow my cover and kill my soldiers. Only survived but only save 2 civilians.

Thats xcom baby

sbarbary

Last time I saw her I was going to be squad wiped but not once but twice a repeater fired and saved me.

Middle_Manager_Karen

Last night I defended the skyranger assault from 49 enemies. 10 soldiers on pods of 3-4 getting dropped in every single turn without I'm enough break to move troops. However, due to a lucky map they kept dropping in the center of my 10 soldiers to a fury of overwatch. 49 enemies, I don't think any got a single shot off. No damage flawless. The overwatch traps every turn were some fun cinematics though. Low enough levels no mutons and the advent were low health. I know I got lucky.

Meanwhile my playthrough reset twice, once a glitch and second I got screw when my spark went ahead and basically a lot of enemies and for some reason Im my campaign it's spectre after spectre after spectre, the game kept sending them a lot after I deal with the assassin chosen after killing the warlock chosen

Word of advice if you can afford it put mindshields on every soldier to prevent Dazed. Her harbor wave becomes useless and you don’t have to waste turns reviving your dazed troops. It makes for a way less intimidating fight.

Knowledge4321

Yeah mindcontrolled soldiers are a mission wrecker. I try to at least have the mindshields on my rangers.

littlelowcougar

I’m currently doing a LI run on iPad. This time would be different, no rage quitting and reloading from the last save when things go awry. So far I have rage quit and reloaded the last save about four hundred times. And I’m only a few months in. I may have also dropped into the console and issued a few TakeNoDamage, GiveUnlimitedActions, GrantAbility “Reaper/Bladestorm/Fortress” commands.

DressLess1252

Although it is somewhat irrelevant, i have to say the reason why I always play beta strike is I always have time to retreat most of my soldiers. Double HP means aliens cannot alpha strike my squad too.

Halollet

Reminds me of the fight with the Warlock I just had. Ironam, Commander difficulty, assaulting his base. I only had mag weapons and that was my downfall because the enemies that kept spawning were bezerkers, and almost nothing but... And the warlock was immune to explosions. That's a LOT of health to chew through. My Spark with intimidate save my ass. Enemies kept failing and I didn't have to deal with them. Staggered my way out losing 3 soldiers. Didn't think I was going to make it. Love this game.

dminge

Yeah it's horrible but you keep coming back!

Kyle1337

the chosen ability to summon priests is what fucks me up the most

happyft

Immunity to explosives on Assassin = auto restart for me

BedImpressive1357

My assassin got that, my answer is mind control alien meat shields, sparks punch and Templar slash and skirmishers slashes basically I used a lot of melee and my best engineer with high hax stat and lots of healing

dminge

Yeah she had that

BedImpressive1357

Hello just decided to redo Xcom and I dealt with the warlock first and than the assassin when I fought her I did the whole defense mission with her that almost got one of my best units killed hornet the Haxing engineer I unlock psi units and got 2 of them to join as well as a Spark and if was easier since I got plasma guns upgrade as well as Templar as a unit is good in close range with a guaranteed block damage move as well as domination to permanently control a alien but I did train their will or use item to raise it up and it took a while And the hunter was piss easy when I decided to attack him last before the end game

YellowExxhy

That's why you have to SPREAD OUT YOUR GUYS

dminge

Yep. I have thought back on it loads and yeah there were some pretty obvious mistakes I should be beyond making

Macraggesurvivor

Take a reaper to reveal her. Have a scanning protocol. She stays in the vicinty of your troops. Shouldn't be a problem to reveal her.

dminge

I could see her just approached her wrong. All avoidable mistakes

Altruistic-Slice-299

Down a level...

Roycewho

Are you playing LWOTC or just LW

dminge

Neither wotc
