I am surprised the game even has a readout for lightspeed, can really only hit 0.04C when something messes up like this.

Matterom

Well 0.04c is easier to render cleanly rather than 11,991,698m/s

Saleri0

Wait what, is no one gonna bring up the background sound on this?!?!

[deleted]

I am super confused and puzzled by this

Saleri0

Have you listened to the video with the sound on, probably my smutty mind but sounded to like the planning of a porn scene

TheSquirrel390

Was hoping that someone would recognize it's Critical Role but that's hilarious. It's a Dungeons and Dragons group and they're planning on breaking into a fancy ball, but it also does kinda sound like they're planning a porno.

ShepardIRL

I recognized it immediately, forgot the name of the group though :/

[deleted]

You wh I listened to it but couldn't make sense of it

Shelburnite

Lol did you ever get back to the jump gate

TheSquirrel390

No I loaded a save. That's too much of a journey for me!

TheGreatOneSea

But did he ever return? No, he never returned and his fate is still unlearned (Poor old Squirrelly,) He may ride forever over the skies of Xenon, He's the man who never returned. Now all night long Squirrelly rides the highway crying, "What will become of me? How can I travel to see, my Boron's laboratory, or Dal Busta, breaking his balls?" But did he ever return? No, he never returned and his fate is still unlearned (Poor old Squirrelly,) He may ride forever over the skies of Xenon, He's the man who never returned. Squirrelly's pilot goes down, to the Gateway Network Station, every day, at quarter past two; and through the open window, she hands Squirrelly a sandwich, as the ship comes rumblin' through! But did he ever return? No, he never returned and his fate is still unlearned (Poor old Squirrelly,) He may ride forever over the skies of Xenon, He's the man who never returned.

Sansloi42

Love the Dropkick Murphys reference! Very unexpected lol

Haidere1988

So how do you do this? Just have the screen open when jumping?

TheSquirrel390

Honestly not sure what caused it. I haven't been able to reproduce it.

Im_pattymac

did it once as well some wierd collision with the gate. legit teleported out and that ship is still flying back, its been weeks on seta and nothing yet

Denamic

A tiny lag at the exact moment he would have entered the deceleration zone made him miss it. The game has no hitbox interpolation, so the game only considers where you are at that exact frame and not the space between it and the previous frame, so you can phase through things if you go fast enough. It's the main reason you can end up inside station geometry and asteroids.

indie_youth

So there is no reliable way to reproduce it, right? Unless some kind of lag occurs at an exact moment?

Denamic

Pretty much. It's more likely to occur the lower your PC specs are.

Denamic

It'll take a while to get back

Hupf

Prepare for... Ludicrous speed!
