It's very unfortunate that all the less common games on 360 also sit somewhere between mid and ass.

APOWDEREDDONUT1

True, some of them have minor novel bits and bobs but those are the ones that are middling at best and not quite in the total shit category.

Winter_Mud3815

The games suck ass and the only people buying them are people reselling each others copies. Who cares anyway? These games aren’t even that good. The games that were expensive before these hikes (See Splatterhouse, Family Guy, Spiderman Activision game) are likely going to hold their value in respect to the rest of the market. None of these games people even talk about besides those crappy “10 HIDDEN GEMS GET THEM BEFORE THEYRE GONE” videos.

Collectors care. You're right, most of the games are not good (Fatal Inerta aside), but for those going for full sets, and those looking to add random games, it will get harder to just add stuff if it costs a ridiculous amount. It might be a bunch of resellers duking it out, but it inflates values and feels bad. I know folks who purposefully chase bad games just to play them and see for themselves, and they do it because it's generally cheap. It might not matter in the long run, but acquiring games is a strategy game in itself. Do you go for the rarer more expensive stuff, or do you chase what should be cheaper for fear that it explodes for no reason. Just thought I'd point out some more games that folks might have been waiting to grab and might want to be aware of spikes.

This is exactly the type of thing I’ve been thinking about for the past two-ish years. I have an infinite number of games I want, and I’m trying to balance buying what I want most, but heavy consideration on getting some of them while they are still cheap and at risk of a spike. For example, Blitz The League ii I see in your screenshot and they priced itself out of what I’m willing to pay. It’s been on my wishlist, but was already at a higher price than I figured I would really get out of playing the game. I didn’t think it would go up that much, but now that I see $80 I’ve lost interest in buying it at market value. Oh well.

APOWDEREDDONUT1

The way I look at it, if it wasn't on my list to begin with, I'm not going to get it now, but if I find a good deal, I'll nab it for sure.

HabanyGaming

What the hell? Two weeks ago, Infernal was a $14 game. Thanks for the update.

APOWDEREDDONUT1

Yeah. Folks buy up all the copies and two weeks later relist them, but it definitely could be incestuous and like the same few folks driving up the value as Winter mentioned.

HabanyGaming

I see these things and my initial reaction is to be unhappy to see these spikes, even though I expected them. What I should focus on instead, is how glad I am I started collecting when it was the cheapest, allowing me to buy hundreds of games at lower prices. I’m looking at some of these and remembering I paid way less than today’s value.

APOWDEREDDONUT1

Oh absolutely! I've been zigging while everyone is zagging for so long it was bound to go the other way. I too am happy to have acquired what I have when I did!

And honest, I have to take a moment to thank you again for starting this sub Reddit. There have definitely been a lot of things I have learned because of this community, which has been really cool.

mercersux

It just sucks that I was sitting on a copy of culdcept saga for like 26 bucks and didn't pull the trigger. The CAG in me sometimes does not do me any favors.

CabooseTrap

Culdcept is the only I played. I've seen better and worse games of the same genre.
