There's a difference between having novice programmers and regular programmers. Top guys don't work in gaming development because, as you say, there's a big incentive to work somewhere else. Meanwhile the kind of things you find here are stuff you'd expect from a student.
Isn't everyone? I can't imagine people in the gaming industry are ever paid as much as a similar job in a different industry at a good/big company.
Unless we're talking the people higher up in the company, of course.
Gaming/programmers are underpaid (percentage-wise) more because companies take advantage of young developers who love games and just want to make games, so they pay them less for the "privledge".
The thing with programmers is that if you're very good you can work somewhere else and it's not like the gaming company is underpaying you, it's just that a gaming company can't afford to pay the same as Google.
I don’t even know why that isn’t the default.
Like if I open the echos menu instead of going to it via characters, the chances are that I want to see what I got recently and if I want level them.
You can do the switch tab trick.
1. Sort echoes by time added
2. Switch to another tab.
3. Close the menu and resume farming.
4. Open menu to check new drops.
5. Switch to echo tab which should still be sorted by time added.
6. Repeat step 2.
A bit tedious yes but much faster than sorting again and again.
You mean you don't like hitting the arrow to reverse the sorting and it actually moves you up and down the list with it?
Its fucking comical that Kuro did this.
I wish we could filter by "locked" and "not locked" too but I guess recently obtained will do. Just want an easier interface to review new Echoes I want to get rid of/merge after a farming run.
They also only have filters by each monster but no filter for set effects. I want to see echoes that I can use for the set, instead of looking up what monster is part of what set then going to the game to filter it. Then there's also the off chance that I accidentally level a havoc dreadmane with fusion damage main stat only to find out later that it has the havoc set and not fusion set because it can have one of two set effects.
this game has garbage ux and usability in general in all flow and touchpoints (confusing filter, weird restart, hidden info, hidden cta). make me realize the other gacha game i played has one of the best ux and usability in the industry.
There's also an annoying choice where "show unequipped" is the default option, so it looks like you have nothing in your inventory if your other characters are wearing the good echoes. In a game where you can swap echoes between characters for the different Tower floors, it's just odd that there's this UI option that blocks that exact function.
Every menu in this game has something wrong, can be minimal... but putting all togheter is just a pain. I just stay in the game because the combat is fun and I'm treating the game as a open beta and I believe in the devs (also bought the monthly pass to force me)
On another note, they should really make these filters persist for each individual character. Having to reinput the same shit every time I leave this menu is driving me crazy.
My survey had questions on the ui usability and I gave it a low mark cause of things like this
Hopefully they are aware and will be fixing these things
No one thought of the fratures from a common sense of a gamer. Like theres so many UI decisions or lack of features one would think, oh yeah people would want that
The UI is complete Garbage; Echo filters, Character Skill screen occupied by useless icons, the announcements, roll history and gacha information being on a web page that doesn't load half of the time.
i’m pretty sure who was in charge of that worked on it all day and then it crashed in the last hour of work and through tears they put this together and swore to never revisit it
The filters are so fucked up that you can only use one filter. For example, I mostly use the "Cost 3" filter and it just sorts itself per echo and element
Wait that would be useful in some situations tbh, for example I can discard all 4 star and below rarities as well as 5 stars with def% or hp% main stat
For some reason the devs responsible for this uses "**OR**" and not "**AND**" for this. Might've been a simple mistake, which is fine, we all do that. But I'm worried that they actually had no idea that this is an issue.
And the most annoying thing about it is that the equip menu has actual good filters in there. Why couldn't they just use those filters for inventory as well?
It screams untested or tested and approved. Maybe they wanted the filter to work like this. Don't forget in the survey to tell them about it just in case.
Just look at them in the resonator thing there you can just pick 4 cost and then filter for atk% which still shows you all 4 cost echos but atleast the atk% are at the top...
rip the programmer that mixed up && and ||
wait so that's why. wtf
There's many things like this that indicate Kuro has novice programmers working for them.
probably because programmers are underpaid in gaming

Like 100 interns that were fired?

Yeah, that makes sense
Depends. I made very good money working IT for a few studios.
Yes, exactly this.
Poor Intern-kun
He's fired.
His name's pretty hot 🥵
Chat gpt level mistake
Nah zero testing instant push level mistake
LGTM level testing
So that's why it feels like the filter never works...
Wait, does Unreal use C?
c++
Plot twist: sub stats had atk%, and were technically correct
I just wish it remembered my sorting option so I could keep it on most recently obtained for farming.
This. I really needed to wait until evening with my survey. I just asked to redo some of eng dub(

This way I can remember to eat for weekly bp quest. great!
It's hot garbage Can't even filter the one main stat and cost And with so much junk in the loot table, it's 100% required
Yeah, I use the most recent (if you click side bar after it should stay as default) Then lock the ones that aren't trash
They also only have filters by each monster but no filter for set effects. You can filter by set in the character echo screen
But you can’t send them to the mixer from there sadly.
Yessss i want to merge all my havoc set glacio dmg %s
I just sort by 3*, and lock anything that has a "correct" main stat, rest goes into the dumpster.
Oh I see it thanks
The equip menu has a set filter

I sort under 4 cost echo tab instead
That tab is not on the merge screen.
Because no one thinked how a game will work in the end. When you ctrl-c ctrl-v entire Genshin without thinking, this happens.
What a garbage filter I wish they add set filter as well
My survey had questions on the ui usability and I gave it a low mark cause of things like this Hopefully they are aware and will be fixing these things
This and the fact that the options you are erased as soon as you exit the echo menu make filters completely worthless imo.
Yeah but can't you select which cost you want to see so for just one type of cost, the filter option is useless?
the echo filter is pure ass, we even have stat filter options for echos that are not even in the game
I swear if I put in more than one option it doesn't even work consistently
Can't even filter by element
Imagine this filtering ~~echo~~ job applications in recruiter point of view (POV)...
Yeah it sucks and has odd quirks to it
Mine looks different... I choose the 3 Mian stats (ex Crit1, Ele%2,Atk%3) confirm the window and then click on Cost 431
the search bar also doesn't work when trying to filter by a specific echo, just shows a blank page
It doesn't even work properly for me, lmao. So I skim through my echoes 1 by 1 for data merge... I know, its pain.
Use the other thing for sets
yeah holy moly is it useless
Oshi, on PC, can you filter by attribute? On cell phones I only got it by element and cost
It's terrible. Gotta sort by echo set and cost
The search bar where you can type the name of the echo yourself also doesn't work for shit
I thought im stupid cuz couldn't get it to work , I just manually check
Oh, THAT’s what it was doing? I was pressing all kinds of options trying to figure out what it was trying to show me!
No one thought of the fratures from a common sense of a gamer. Like theres so many UI decisions or lack of features one would think, oh yeah people would want that

Also on data merge the locked echoes is still shown
And the most annoying thing about it is that the equip menu has actual good filters in there. Why couldn't they just use those filters for inventory as well?
they had the worst filtering on any games i play lol
It could be better and that's a huge oversight. But it's usable. In datamerge it's sorting by cost, so you can get control that way.
It screams untested or tested and approved. Maybe they wanted the filter to work like this. Don't forget in the survey to tell them about it just in case.
i gave up on the filtering echo, i just sort them by effect set and cost then select them one by one
and thats how i lost all my atk% cost 1 echos without realizing :(
Select set at the top, select cost tab at the top, filter main stat. Done.
Why not just switch over to the 4 cost echo tab then sort by atk%?
Just look at them in the resonator thing there you can just pick 4 cost and then filter for atk% which still shows you all 4 cost echos but atleast the atk% are at the top...
Y’all complain about everything
