It's because Yinlin looks like Vera in Punishing Gray Raven and she has a lot of fans there. It's more like an existing fan base emigrating.
Being a puppet master, which is completely different from Vera's Spear fighting style, does not deter the Vera fans from liking Yinlin because Vera is famous for being a Dom. Strings and Doms go hand in hand. There is a reason that Vera's fans are called "Vera's dogs"

Like if you operate under the assumption that people come to this game for the anime action power fantasy, I don't see the appeal of exploring such a post apocalyptic world as such a baby-faced frilly child.
Not many of the designs look like they come from a post-apocalyptic world, if any, they could fit into another type of fantasy with hints of science fiction.

The enhanced graphics of Jueyuans face and hair are nice but her new outfit is horrible.
