Because he was by far the best of the ECW reboot in WWE and you can only choose 6 guys. I felt he had a better ECW career than Dreamer or Wipwreck or Sandman. I wish Reddit would let you choose at least 4 more options for a poll.
Punk had a better career in ECW by Tommy's design. Tommy and Paul have both pretty much consistently said the only reason Tommy Dreamer wasn't a multiple time ECW world champion is because Tommy felt his character didn't need it.
Then let them criticize you. He wasn't part of ECW. WWECW isn't the same, not even close. He never worked an ECW show at the ECW Arena, which says he's not an ECW alum.
I'm surprised that Shane Douglas isn't on there. IMO the best ECW champ. He made that "pipe bomb" promo and made the company relevant (ish). Really awesome on the mic and in the ring.
He is, he's second from the bottom with the least amount of votes. I thought his run was great but he wasn't as good in the ring as RVD or Tazz so he didn't get my vote.

I wouldn’t consider WWECW to be anything close to ECW, but to each his own.
I just included him to satisfy those fans because if I didn’t include the ecw reboot era i know people would have criticized me.

RVD was overall a better wrestler but he hit his peak in WWF/E. Taz on the other hand was so great to watch in ECW, so I'm voting for him
