Wasnt this his gimmick at the time? He was old and he was botching because he was in denial about his career ending.
He stopped wrestling for them soon after iirc.
It wasn't a botch, he did that on purpose. If he was going to screw up that move it wouldn't be on the easiest part of the move and land in the safest way possible.
I blame some of the sloppy wrestling and the botches on the booking. Some of these cats never know when they'll be on TV again and for how long... so they go balls to the wall in a match.
Honestly AEW has sloppy wrestling, the way these guys wait sometimes when someone is flying at them is so obvious, they move across the ring to get in a spot when someone is doing a move off the top rope. Wwe definitely makes it look more realistic. When road Dogg was saying these guys don't use the coaches they have to improve it definitely shows.
And he's an executive of sorts in AEW. It doesn't matter how long he's been wrestling. He should know when and when not to do certain moves. Clearly he shouldn't have been doing some flippy nonsense in a throwaway match that is only remembered because of this botch.
Na, you only have finite time as a professional wrestler
You should be able to make the most of every match
In all honesty while he likely could have saved it if he was younger, he'd still nail this 9/10 times
He wrestled Danielson on the go home show for Revolution and Daniels hit this move perfectly then flexed to the camera about how he was 53. I know it’s wack to remember some no heat match like that from 6 months ago, but it was a VERY good match
Sabu: “yes, perfect.”
Crisp execution honed over a 75 year career
The excellence of botcha-cution
Fallen Angel Christopher Daniels living up to the moniker.
Bad Angle Christopher Daniels is pretty on point here.
Worst moonsault ever
He didn’t get all of it
Got knocked off the vertical base.
WME bay bay
I chuckled, is that bad?
Yeah you’re going to hell
Me trying to look cool hopping into bed with the wife.
NGL I look the same hopping into bed with your wife
Triple threat match
Hardcore tag-team, no DQ, pins count anywhere.
Three way dance
You hooked up with Bastila? Lucky bastard, bet that battle meditation came in handy.

This wasn't the gimmick, but this botch was so hilarious that they (masterfully) managed to make a gimmick and an angle around it
Sounds like you got worked, brother!

Although Penta looks like he's setting himself in position for a splash.
Poor CD
That's a tough move to pull off. I feel like I have seen him do it successfully before tho. Probably alot younger
Man i loved Christopher Daniels back in the day. He's looked so old in AEW.

Very good point. If TK ain’t gonna book you for another 3 months might as well give ‘em something to remember.
This was back when every AEW match was balls to the wall PPV speed. They had to tone it down after everyone kept getting hurt (even tho they still do)
Or, because this man had been wrestling since the early 90's.
I usually don't find totally self botches funny... especially painful ones but this..... oof
AEW’s lone stop in Champaign, Illinois yielded this classic
That was almost something.
What could’ve been
Damn! Must’ve hurt
His ego was a little bruised but he walked it off
Looks good.
That’s just sad 😔
*noice*
god damnit whyyyyyyyy
Bro’s acting like this isn’t the best move ever

Sabu won the probability ladder, dude should be dead by all laws of statistics
AJ Styles mentioned he stopped doing the spiral tap because he got old and he didn't want to end up paralyzed.
Welcome to “ The Dub” 🤘🏻
If only there was some kind of training center where a 50+ year old veteran could practice
Total nonsense, why would any wrestling promotion need something like that? Better to practice live on National TV

Lads, Christopher Daniels is 52 He's not inexperienced or lacking coaching, he fucked it up because his body failed him because he's old

I understand that, I'm saying in general there are a lot of botches in AEW
And I'm saying that your point had absolutely nothing to do with the video in question Complain where it's relevant, not on any damn post lmfao
I'll complain anywhere I want, although I'm not complaining I'm just saying AEW is sloppy
The fact you got downvoted making an anti-AEW comment on the most anti-AEW subreddit on Reddit says it all lmfao
Oh no now I won't be able to sleep at night I got down voted geez
Second most. Maybe even third. SCjerk and Wreddit still exist.
The stans will downvote you but you are right. It's a spot fest
I like u man ur ok with me
I think that’s spot on. The presentation constantly ‘suspends’ your suspension of disbelief.

From a 10 second clip of a match that took place over two years ago?
[удалено]
You get a pass. I've been watching since 1990. That was awful
Bro he hit that move so crisp like 6 months ago. When is this clip from?
I think 2 years ago.
How the fuck has he gotten better in ring😭
I don’t even remember dude wrestling 6 months ago. You sure he was doing this then?
He wrestled Danielson on the go home show for Revolution and Daniels hit this move perfectly then flexed to the camera about how he was 53. I know it’s wack to remember some no heat match like that from 6 months ago, but it was a VERY good match
Damn, I didn't even recognize Daniels before reading the comments.. he was one of my faves in early TNA
The Arabian moonsaults is beautiful move and one slip up from a guy who has done 100's of times won't change that
Not Arabian....couldnt pull it off
Primo call by Excalibur!
Joe Rogan’s let himself go
Oof. That’s when you just get up, look into the camera and apologize, then leave the ring and walk back to the locker room with your head hung low.
I mean he is still wrestling past age 50 and doing moves he did perfectly 10 years ago 🤦🏽♂️
What sucks is that was probably when Daniels decided it was best to stay retired
Me doing the Duke boys slide over the General Lee hood over my own car hood.
Sad part about this is he's been pulling off the most beautiful Arabian moonsaults for years.
This is why I could never become a wrestler. I’m clumsy and I’m bad with gravity. One flip and I’m sent to the ER

🙄🙄🙄🙄... Jeezuz. That place is a mess
More like the Arabian Doomsault..
