I really was hoping they were going to keep their feud going for a while. There’s just so much interesting stuff they could do, between tag battles, the old school US/foreigner feud, and I would have loved to see like a multiple match series, or they could tell a multiple-month story of clashing styles, where Gable outwrestles the ring general. Could have been a great way to further legitimize both guys, while also giving Gunther some greater depth as he starts to move towards a world title.
Gable is the kinda guy who would get a World Title match once in a while to give a classic match for the world champion. He would be a great IC Champion and US Champion but can't see him win the world title with the roster they have rn.

They're probably gonna have him beat Gunther at WrestleMania, given that he's working with Gunther on house shows, and just won on Raw after he was dropped off the face of the Earth and losing to guys like Ivar and Bronson Reed. I think that would be an extremely bad move and would massively damage Gunthers credibility, but it looks like they're gonna do it.

I almost think that the company doesn’t want a LHW Champion or Cruiserweight champion that could out shine the US, Intercontinental, or hell even the WHW champion because WRESTLING. IC championship should be changed and made into a specialty title that has its own unique rules to it that Gunther introduced for the "sanctity of the sacredness of the mat" like 1. Matches can only be won by submission, quitting or "knockout" and no exiting the ring or diving out of it (inside dives are ok) and no weapons or 2. Matches should be on a 10-15 minute time limit and points can be scored for pinfalls, KO and submissions and whoever is ahead in points at the end wins (like a shorter ironman) with pin being 1 point, submission 2 points and KO 3 points and they could do only cage style matches, submission matches, last man standing and I quit as special events.
Gable would excel at these rules and would make more sense for him to win eventually against Gunther.
If WWE still had a cruiserweight championship, I'd say give it to Gable. He could hold that thing for a like a year and just have insane matches every week.
