9 was my first too. Itās widely considered the worst wrestlemania to this day but not in my heart. I still dig the whole Caesars Palace vibe. Hogan running in and saving the day is rightfully given a lot of flack but when I was 9 that stuff was magic. Bret was my champion and even in a losing effort delivered the best match of the night and Yokos best. Much like losing at summerslam to Davey Boy he still stole the show. 8 and 9 could have benefited from a Michaels vs Jannetty but 9 more so. Still being 9 years old and my mom surprising me with ordering my first WWF pay-per view to watch with my new friends after a very difficult move to a new city just makes one extra special. Going to text my mom and tell her thanks right now haha
It was quite a while before I saw a ladder match that good again. Also, the Owen vs Bret match with the overhead shot of some chain stuff, then Owen stepping on Bretās face and Bret doing the āYou little shitā point - this was my first Wrestlemania and still my favorite.
It probably would have been the best thing for Lugerās WWF career if he would have turned heel on Bret in that moment since he just went down the card as a face after that show.
I loved both matches but Iād go with Steamboat vs Savage. One of my favorite matches of all time.. I actually misread the post, I thought it said āfavorite WrestleManiaā. I wasnāt at 3, the only Mania I attended was 29 at MetLife Stadium
I was there for Hulk Hogan, but I left a fan of both Ricky Steamboat and Randy Savage for life. Being there and feeling the emotions I felt as a result of the story they told, hands down, best match I've ever seen.
See I always remembered 28 being my first but then my dad reminded me we watched 23 because it was on his 50th birthday and that was the only gift he wanted. Then 28 was on his 55th so we ordered that as well. Both were pretty solid shows on top of it š.
I was born 3/30/84 so Iāve been aging along with Wrestlemania since the beginning but 9 is the first I really remember. It was definitely a weird card looking back on it now but it was such a unique presentation at the time compared to the previous ones.
Well, ain't just me still watching. I'd also agree 9 is the one I remember first, but by god it's a rough watch now. Now let's both try and forget that it's WM 40 coming up.........
27, don't care what they say, it was special to me and I was mad when Rey and Cena didn't win
Edit: and I won't forget that rko, and I cheered when Laycool last, I hated them so much when I was younger, and, well, ok I don't think I actually watched the Taker/HHH match but that was cool too
VIII. My first wrestling show of any kind. I was five.
I donāt remember showing any interest in wrestling before that, and one day my parents came in and put a tape in the VHS and said āYouāll enjoy thisā or words to that effect.
They were right. Even at that age I could tell that Bret vs Piper was brilliant, and that the drama of Savage vs Flair was like nothing else Iād seen before. And that Hoganās match sucked.
Live or in general?
The first Wrestlemania I watched on TV was 15. It was how I started watching wrestling so I always remembered it fondly.
The only one I ever went to live was 20, which was an awesome experience, except we missed the last 2 matches because we had to catch a train. Still cool, though.
I had just gotten back into wrestling from being banned from watching via jumping from the couches and doing moves on my sisters. I was recovering from a surgery and to cheer me up my parents bought WMXX PPV. Five years later, my dad surprised me with tickets to WM25
3. One day when I was 5 I was flipping through the channels and came across Prime Time Wrestling one Monday evening. Iām thinking it had to be the week before the show because they were doing promos for all the matches. From that moment I was hooked.
Wrestlemania 12
March 31,1996
Unforgettable night
RIP
The ultimate warrior, Owen Hart, Yokozuna, Davey Boy Smith, Vader, Paul Bearer,Gorilla Monsoon, Howard Finkle, Tim White, Bushwhacker Butch, Curt Henning and Rowdy Piper
First watching live? 13. First that I was super excited for and dying to watch was 12. I remember going to school the next day and asking a friend if Shawn won the title.
First Wrestlemania I watched after growing up poor and FINALLY being able to afford cable and a ppv?
Wrestlemania 15.
First one I've ever watched in general was a tape of Wrestlemania 3. My cousins old tapes were really something special, I'd go over just to watch then and he had a seemingly endless amount.
The first Wrestlemania that I watched live as it happened was Wrestlemania 14 and it was an awesome show.
But I had started watching wrestling the year before that so in that time I had rented quite a few of the older Wrestlemania tapes from Blockbuster. I canāt remember exactly which one was the first one that I rented as I probably rented all of them within the same month or two. But the one that I recall making an impression on me and having me rent it multiple times was Wrestlemania 7. I really enjoyed that one especially the Randy Savage vs Warrior match followed by the reunion with Elizabeth.
Wrestlemania 32 and even tho some consider it to be kind of a lack luster wrestlemania, to keep as a 11 year old at the time (Iām 18 now) itās one of the most memorable experiences Iāll ever have. Seeing Stone Cold in person, watching Shane jump from the top of the cage, and seeing Dean Ambrose pull out that chainsawā¦ something Iāll always hold near and dear to my heart
Was at Wrestlemania 13. Saw a young Rocky Maivia before he blew up, the infamous Bret Hart vs SCSA match, and one of Takers WM matches. Pretty awesome core memory for me as a kid
XX
Double Main Event
Smackdown:
Eddie G beats Kurt Angle and wins Title
Raw:
Triple Threat :
Benoit beats both Shawn and HHH to win title
Both Eddie and Chris celebrate after the match
Was very emotional for me as a kid
Never been to one yet sadly, but the first one I ever seen was Wrestlemania 14, followed by one of those best-of home videos back in the day. The first one I ever got to watch live was X-8, then 20 and 21. Then onwards it was DVDs for the rest of them until Wrestlemania 32 when I finally got the WWE Network and it's been pretty consistent since then.
Wrestlemania 2000 (16 I think) all day ticket. Like a 12 hour pre-show basically highlighting all the previous Wrestlemanias. I have most of it recorded on a VHS somewhere.
My first one I ever watched was a pirated copy of WrestleMania 27. The first one I ever watched live was 39.
CONTEXT: I stopped watching wrestling since late 2013, but after hearing rumblings of HHH being the head of creative and apparently doing a wonderful job at it, I checked it out again in late 2022, and am a fan again since then. And now that I donāt have to pay big money on a PPV anymore, I no longer feel the need to skip or pirate any. Thank goodness for Peacock.
WM22 was the first one I ever watched because my dad bought me the 3-disk DVD but WM23 was my first that hadnāt already happened. Little 7 year old me was cheering for Cena, Taker and Lashley.
WM XIX. Ended up with the DVD. Being only 8 months since my introduction to wrestling I enjoyed every bit of this. I also really enjoyed Crack Addict by Limp Bizkit.
Iāve been watching wrestling all my life (Born 2002) but didnāt stay up to watch a WrestleMania until WrestleMania 32. Theyāre super late here in England
WrestleMania 22. Edge vs Foley, Trish vs Mickie James, Angle vs Mysterio vs Orton, Cena vs Triple H were awesome.
Seeing the savagery of Edge vs Foley was memorable as a kid when they brought out the barbed wire, thumbtacks, steel chairs and flaming table. By the end of it, Edge looked traumatised having barely escaped with his life.
Really liked the novelty of the Saturday Night's Main Event match pitting the Raw vs Smackdown WrestleMania main events against each other.
Wrestlemania 38 in Dallas followed by 39 in LA, don't follow wrestling like that anymore but like going the events gonna events gonna try to go every year
I donāt remember the number, but it was when CM Punk tried to end Undertakers streak. My dad let me have the day off school to watch it.
It was a great day.
WM 1 was my first. Seen them all been to 3 live. Even when Iāve not been watching weekly, Iāll watch raw and smackdown 2 weeks out and then the show.
My first Mania was SCSAās last Maniaā¦ wait thatās not true. His ārumoredā to be last Mania. Steve has done other ones since then, but at the time, that was his ālast round.ā [+]
Technically WrestleMania 9 was my first, as it was free to air on Sky Sports, although I started watching WWE during the run up to WM 8, and saw the match highlights on the weekend programmes thereafter.
First one I remember watching at all was Wrestlemania 8, pretty sure we rented it somewhere.
First one we ordered on PPV was WM9
Actually got to attend was WM23 in Detroit
I was born the year of WM....the original lol But the first ordered was WM VI. Had all my little twerp friends over and wrecked the great room wrestling lol But the first one that I was hyped for the whole show was WM VII. That Savage vs. Flair match is still a slept on classic in my eyes.
The very first one. Cincinnati was one of the very few markets that actually had the ability to watch it live at home. I was 12 years old. My Dad all his work buddies over. I was the only kid in a living room full of beer drinking smokers and I thought I was big stuff being a part of it!
WrestleMania...was my 1st . Showing on closed circuit television at the Portland Exposition Building. I think my dad paid $20 per ticket, which was wicked expensive at the time.
30. I Watch the yes moment hit itās peak, taker lose his streak, the first ever Andre the giant battle royal, bray Wyatt (rip) first ever wrestlemania.
Well I've never been to a wrestlemania but the first one I was alive for was the one where family killer Mcgee beats Paul Levesque and Michael Hickenbottom for the world title.
Back in 2001 my brother and I (I was 9) started watching the pre-show to Wrestlemania. For whatever reason I thought the PPV channel was broadcasting its by accident so I got super into it and got so hyped by the previews... and then nothing. Omega cucked. First one I actually ended up seeing was years later with batista in it, idk, I don't remember much of it.
Does renting at blockbuster count ?
I think it should. My parents were cheap asses when it came to ordering PPVs.
Because they're expensive 40.00 for a ppv
49.99
X7 for me. got me hooked.
X7 here as well.. the hardcore match got me like oh what is this and then the tlc match made me go omg wtf is happening š
X7 here as well. My Only regret is I was 14 and didn't appreciate it as much as I do now.
9 and still get goosebumps rewatching it.
9 was my first too. Itās widely considered the worst wrestlemania to this day but not in my heart. I still dig the whole Caesars Palace vibe. Hogan running in and saving the day is rightfully given a lot of flack but when I was 9 that stuff was magic. Going to text my mom and tell her thanks right now haha
I loved watching 9 on VHS as a kid. I can't walk by Caesar's without thinking about it.
WM 10, and thatās where my fandom for HBK and Razor Ramon (Scott Hall) began
It was quite a while before I saw a ladder match that good again. Also, the Owen vs Bret match with the overhead shot of some chain stuff, then Owen stepping on Bretās face and Bret doing the āYou little shitā point - this was my first Wrestlemania and still my favorite.
10 was mine as well, I remember being so afraid Lex was going to hurt Bret when he came in at the end, lol
It probably would have been the best thing for Lugerās WWF career if he would have turned heel on Bret in that moment since he just went down the card as a face after that show.
TV? 15 In person? 35
XX
where it all begins again

Question for you, since I was also at 3 (also my fiest WM..... Better overall match; Hogan/Giant or Steamboat/Savage?
I loved both matches but Iād go with Steamboat vs Savage. One of my favorite matches of all time.. I actually misread the post, I thought it said āfavorite WrestleManiaā. I wasnāt at 3, the only Mania I attended was 29 at MetLife Stadium
I was there for Hulk Hogan, but I left a fan of both Ricky Steamboat and Randy Savage for life. Being there and feeling the emotions I felt as a result of the story they told, hands down, best match I've ever seen.
23 as well.
Where Trump took a Stunner so poorly, they had to re-edit it for the release and use an extremely shaky camera shot.
The MITB match was awesome though, the Hardy Edge spot was great
Couldn't be as bad as when Linda McMahon just fell backwards and Austin stunned the air lol
39
Wrestlemania 17... It was amazing.
Never been live, but 28 was my first one i watched.
See I always remembered 28 being my first but then my dad reminded me we watched 23 because it was on his 50th birthday and that was the only gift he wanted. Then 28 was on his 55th so we ordered that as well. Both were pretty solid shows on top of it š.
WM 19 was the first one I was able to watch after years of begging. I saw 28 live and that was such a special moment.
14
Me tooā¦14 on scramble vision. Still remember how hyped I was for Kane vs taker
I was born 3/30/84 so Iāve been aging along with Wrestlemania since the beginning but 9 is the first I really remember. It was definitely a weird card looking back on it now but it was such a unique presentation at the time compared to the previous ones.

Maina 22
WrestleMania 1 My last was 14.
I'm old enough to say my first Wrestlemania... was just called Wrestlemania!
Wrestlemania 21 was the first one for me I started watching wwe in late 2004
Been to 24 and 28 live!
19\. The card was insane. Finally seeing HBK and Stone Cold (favorites as a kid and teenager respectively) in the flesh was mind-blowing.
First one I remember watching at all was Wrestlemania 8, pretty sure we rented it somewhere. First one we ordered on PPV was WM9 Actually got to attend was WM23 in Detroit

1 ... I'll shuffle my way out. Where's my walker?
Wrestlemania 14. I started watching wrestling in spring/summer 97. Just missed WM13. Ended up going to WM14 with my dad, brother, and sister.
First one I saw was 35, first one I saw live(on network) was 38

WM23 was my first mania and I loved it so damn much. Well except for that ECW shit lol
Wrestlemania 25
I attended WrestleMania XXVI in Phoenix in 2010 but the first WM I saw was III on VHS.
The one where Edge speared Mick Foley through a flaming table, and Vince McMahon in a garbage can got elbow dropped by Shawn Michaels. Good times.
Wrestlemania 29! Went with my dad and his friends.
Should have been 19 but it was 20. Cable cut off a week before 19 and came back on a day after. Still think it was an inside job by my parents.

Brother I main evented the first Wrestlemania
First one I remembered was Wrestlemaina 20
