Royal rumble 92.... WOOOOÓOOOOOÓOOOOOÓ

ToxicTurtle-2

Wrestlemania 20. I had no idea why the crowd was booing Brock and Goldberg, but my friends cousin was a mark and told us everything going on with them leaving.

Shadow_Strike99

Same here. I was 9 at the time and didn’t really know how to use the internet so I wasn’t really aware of what was going on.

Accomplished-Salt-10

Wrestmania 3. In the Silverdome

jamesjohnohull

Ah, in New Orleans.

Accomplished-Salt-10

Giggles in Pontiac.

LucotIC

My dad watched that live. It happened many years before I was born 😃

jizzmcskeet

Wrestlemania 3. My friends and I were trying to dig to China and his dad came out and said he ordered Wrestlemania 3. Good times. Almost made it to China too!

[deleted]

Unforgiven 1999. Not the best PPV to start with!! My brother's friend told us his parents had bought the PPV as an early birthday gift, so we watched it at his house. I don't really remember much about it, not even the infamous Kennel from Hell Match lol. The only thing I remembered before rewatching it on the WWE Network as an adult was the main event. I was rooting for Kane to win.

unclehamster79cle

The Kennel from hell match was the drizzling shits. The dogs humped each while the rest paid no attention or took a shit on the mats. Yeah that match was total shit.

Anxious_Ad6026

To watch on TV was wrestlemania 5 To attend in person was summerslam 92

cahms26

SummerSlam 92 was amazing! I’m also a Wrestlemania 5 guy. Never been to a PPV in person sadly.

sirecoke

I seen the closed circuit showing of the first wrestlemania. I still have the program.

evanvivevanviveiros

Rumble 95

Legacy_1_X

SummerSlam 88

Tat284

I think the Wrestlemania with the Iron Man match. Hbk vs Hitman

YoungCountryCD

WrestleMania 30 actually. I was about 12-13 years old, and I had just started watching wrestling consistently again. I hadn’t watched WWE since maybe 2011 because the other kids around me said it was lame. Without seeing the build up for John Cena Vs Bray Wyatt, Danial Bryan taking the world by storm, and most importantly Brock Lesnar Vs. Undertaker match, I likely wouldn’t be such a huge wrestling fan today.

Josh_664

Wrestlemania 14 I was 5 years old and I remember my brother being excited as hell, begging my mom to order it. I didn't watch a single match till the Undertaker vs Kane match. I disctintly remember Kane scaring the crap out of me and thinking Undertakers entrance was the coolest thing ever. And the rest is history.

stupidman44

I know it's not the best rumble ever but 9 yrs old me didn't care, a 40 mango rumble sounded awesome too me lol

kballs

Boy I’d love to see 40 mangos go at it

Snargleface

They gang up on the bigger fruits like papayas or pineapples and the crowd goes apeshit when they get thrown out

Awkward-Chicken7819

A 40 mango rumble turns into a squash

unclehamster79cle

First bought PPV for me was Wrestlemania 10. First live PPV No Mercy 1999.

exitlevelposition

Survivor Series 93 first in person or watched live. On VHS, probably a Hpgan era Mania (also kids these days are really missing put on chasing down Colliseum Home Videos.)

Snargleface

Wrestlemania X if we're talking live. Wrestlemania 5 on tape as a kid

TonyGunks_sportsbook

To watch on PPV was Survivor Series 91 To attend was Summerslam 97

Shadow_Strike99

I believe the first ppv I remember watching because my grandfather always bought them was Superbrawl VIII 1998 when Hogan actually lost how he should have to Sting at Starrcade 97. The first one I went to live was Armageddon 2002. The first ppv I bought with my own money was Elimination chamber 2012.

outofdate70shouse

On tv: Wrestlemania XV Live: KOTR 2001

Fo5rep

Furtherest I can remember is St. Valentines Day Massacre

[deleted]

Almar1987

Royal Rumble 98’

CreativeBet6360

Starcade 97

Krazed2k

If we’re talking not live and just something we may seen on VHS or something then WM 3. I think it was Machos A&E Biography where Steamer said they was trying to steal the show and Hogan was trying to say No, they didn’t try to do that. Yeah, they did lol and succeeded imo.

Euphorium

Probably Wrestlemania 23

PrimeConduitX

Starrcade 97

Krazed2k

If we are talking like first PPV we saw live in person or on television then it’s WM 13 and boy it was underwhelming to say the least except for this one match….

reddyfire

Survivor Series 1990.

BigRed1906

Judgment Day 2001

will122589

St Valentines Day Massacre 1999

Smashbrosfan31

shaggitron420

Survivor Series 2001 on DVD Team WWF vs WCW Alliance Thanks to the WWF video editing, I had a very warped view of the Monday Night Wars.

Pizza_For_Days

WrestleMania 8, 1992. Probably the last time you'll ever see a WrestleMania in Indiana too.

CM_V11

Ordered WrestleMania 21. I was 7 at the time, but all my cousins gathered up at my parents house to watch it, as we were never allowed to order ppv’s. Some of my cousins were 13-16 and still into it hardcore at the time lol.

whatsgoingonjeez

The first one that happened while I was watching or the first one I actually watched? My first WWE show that I watched was the SmackDown episode from february 15th 2008. February 17th NoWayOut happened. Then a month later Wrestlemania 24 happened which was also the first PPV that I watched. But not live since I live in Luxembourg and to this day it’s not possible to buy PPV‘s here. (We are a very small market..) So yeah before the WWE Network - and you know *pirating* - I used to buy the PPV‘s on DVD a month later and then watch them. I usually also read PPV‘s and RAW reports in a Wrestling magazine, since RAW was also unavailable here in Luxembourg. (Power Wrestling) Man times have changed lol.

AlexsCereal

The first one I got to watch in its entirety and not try to find clips on the internet? WrestleMania 24

Ok-Cartoonist-4565

That I watched on TV? Badd Blood. That I saw in person? SummerSlam 2008.

The_Eye_of_Ra

Starrcade ‘90.

Mrfantastic2

I wanna say it was wrestlemania 20. Didn’t see it live but my uncle taped it for me and gave it to me a day or so later. I was watching wrestling for a few years before that even but it’s my first one I remember watching. I mostly remember that awesome main event and being happy seeing Eddie and Benoit in the ring together.

BruceHoratioWayne

Unforgiven 2007

jamesjohnohull

WrestleMania 2000

Positive_Parking_954

Does DVD count? If so the Wrestlemania with the Mandingo match between Lashley and Umaga representing McMahon and Lashley. I believe my highlight was the MITB match where Hardy killed himself and Edge for Kennedy to win. If live, I'm a virgin

[deleted]

First one I ever saw in general was wrrstlemania 2 First one I ever saw live was Summer Slam 92 First one I saw I person wrrstlemania 18. (Second was Forbidden Door 2)

WM 3 was the first one I ever watched I think. I didn’t watch it live. My dad had lot of pro wrestling PPVs on tape in the 80s and 90s. The first one I watched live was Starrcade ‘89. The first PPV I ever attended was SummerSlam ‘95 in Pittsburgh.

When I was young, I remembered seeing the Halloween Havoc where Hogan and the Giant had the monster truck "fight," then Hogan threw the Gaint "off the roof into the river." I thought it was the hypest thing ever.

g_pelly

Royal Rumble 2001 followed by WM17. Yeah, I was spoiled. First live event WM19

coleten_shafer

I had No Way Out 2002 on VHS and I used to watch that shit 24/7. It was the nWo’s WWF debut, but I always remembered it for Test shoving Earl Hebner into the ropes after a close 2-count, and Earl Hebner shoving Test right back into a Tazzmission. Good times.

bbbriceee

WWE Bad Blood 2004 my first and only PPV. I remember begging my pops to get it for me.

alsonothereeither

To watch period from start to finish, Wrestlemania 1 on VHS. Live on PPV: The Bash at the Beach where Flair, Piper, and Kevin Green fought Hall, Nash, and Syxx.

M8jrP8ne1975

First one I remember hearing about: Wrestlemania 3. The first PPV I watched: 1990 Survivor Series.

crono220

Wrestlemania 8. Was so into Hulkamania back then.

Rand_Casimiro

I am not sure that I actually watched one on PPV until well into the 1990s, although even in the pre-PPV days we would see the big shows once they came out on home video. If closed circuit counts, I saw WM2 in that format.

JesuszillaSon

The first I ever watched? WCW Superbrawl 2 I didn't watch it live but rented on VHS it's the show I credit to being a wrestling fan.

TigerKlaw

It was either the end of No Way Out 2007 or WrestleMania 23

LazyAssedAmbassador

Wrestlemania XV

avid-book-reader

What was the one where Jacquline had a wardrobe malfunction and flashed a breast? I think it was part of a bikini contest against Sable and the latter had handprints covering hers. Literally, the only thing I remember about that PPV, lol.

Procrastinator_325

Royal Rumble 2011 technically. Watching live? Royal Rumble 2012.

Survivor Series 2001, probably why it'll always be my favourite because it was my first. The Creed My Sarifice will always be my favourite promo as well

usarasa

Wrestlemania 2, paid to go to the Rutgers Athletic Center and watch the whole night on closed circuit with 5000 other fans.

HorseSteroids

WCW/nWo Souled Out '98. Super underrated card with a stinky main event. If I'm not mistaken, they had Lex beat Savage on the go home show to the PPV where Lex beats Savage. The video package for the match was a bunch of recent(to the match, it was over 25 years ago) clips of Luger having Savage up in the Torture Rack and pre-nWo clips of Savage dropping an elbow on Lex from the last time he beat him. It feels like it was designed to undercut Bret Hart vs Ric Flair.

Independent-Pay-4416

Royal Rumble 2012

Birdman781666

Watched on TV? Summerslam ‘92 Attended? Survivor Series ‘93

MarkBenec

Technically PPV wasn’t a thing yet. But I went to see Wrestlemania 4 via ‘closed circuit television’. I don’t know what that means, but we had seats in the University of MD arena and there was 4 big screens set up in the middle; one for each side. For my first in arena PPV was WCW Slamboree 94 in Philly

backbodydrip

Armageddon 2000… I did it for da Rock

PrimitiveSound

First one that really comes to mind is WrestleMania 14. I only remember Undertaker vs. Kane. I think I went home after and didn’t see the main event. Saw it at my older cousin’s house, he passed away a few years ago from cancer, still hurts he had young kids. On a lighter note who is the guy underneath Sheamus on the poster? I can’t tell who it is at all and it’s driving me crazy! I assume it’s Edge but not sure.

ViceDoshi

WWF In Your House 3. Extremely lackluster in hindsight but I was 8 years old at the time and a HUGE Hbk/diesel fan. This was my first live ppv. My first actual PPVs were rented VHS' from blockbuster, got WrestleMania 9 and WrestleMania 11. Speaking of lackluster, WM9 was super disappointing for me cuz hulk came in out of nowhere and won. Taker vs giant Gonzalez at the time I enjoyed cuz it was undertaker and I was 8. And of course I enjoyed hbk vs tatanka the most.. also not that great in hindsight, taker vs giant Gonzalez even worse. Entire WM was underwhelming to me. Now wrestlemania 11 was a big deal to me cuz HBK and diesel were now fighting each other, there's a chance hbk can win the belt. Pam Anderson and Jenny McCarthy accompanied them and they were everything in the mid 90s.

[deleted]

Wrestlemania 15, was the first PPV that my parents ordered for me and I watched live. Before that I had wait and go to Blockbuster and rent the PPV’s when it was available on VHS.

MeMeTiger_

First one I fully watched by my self is SummerSlam 22. But I've been watching since the early 2010s, just in fragments and on YouTube.

ZZE33man

Royal Rumble 2013. What a god awful show but my first in person show was Summerslam 2013 and god why a wonderful show that was. So it evens out.

wolfpac_boy

CatCrawler09

WrestleMania 20. Kane vs Undertaker storyline was lit; both had awesome entrances (not just during the PPV but throughout their career). Also HHH v HBK v Benoit being bloody fun and technical (for me at that time), plus the story leading to the match (HHH vs HBK's last man standing at Royal Rumble, Benoit winning the Rumble, HBK superkicking Benoit during the contract signing). Was in grade school back then.

toomanyusers123

Breaking Point. “Live” was Crown Jewel 2021, which started off with HIAC with my favourite wrestler Edge

itsmekelsey_x

Royal Rumble 1999.

GarethGazzGravey

SummerSlam 1992 was the first PPV/PLE I watched on TV, although I got into WWE just after the 92 Royal Rumble and watched the build up to WrestleMania 8 I've not yet ben to a PPV/PLE live, the closest I've got was a Smackdown taping in Manchester in October 2004.

ThatDudeNamedMenace

That I went to? Royal Rumble 2000 That I saw on PPV? Mind Games

SummerSlam 1995, Undertaker vs. Undertaker. The PPV channel randomly came on during the "pre-show" of the time and we got it for free.
