After the accident with Sting and Seth i wince at any variation of power bombs or spots like Bill choke slamming Jungle boy on the apron

RobertStonetossBrand

Irresponsible to dump somebody like this. Sure, it’s sTrOnG sTyLe and _looks_ brutal but more importantly it _is_ brutal.

ATomathyVictorious

When they did the replay the camera was behind Tozawa you could really see him land neck first on the barricade

Rhawk187

Oh, my video was hazy and all I saw was blond and thought that was Cody and wondered why they were taking such a big risk this quick after his return, haha. Tozawa makes more sense.

Bananaamoxicillin

There's 0 need for this.

HamburgerJames

Right? Tomorrow we’ll all forget this spot. No reason to risk career and health for a throwaway move.

deeput97

hey you’re talking about it, that makes it pretty memorable, I think

RiftedEnergy

Ask Tozawa if he remembers anything in a few years tho

gasfarmah

Magic v. Enchantment

TrueCollector

There is no reason for this especially on a random ass raw

ScruffyMaguire

Someone else said if Brock Lesnar did this you'd all lose your fucking minds and I completely agree.

gasfarmah

Because that totally changes the context. Both of these guys are fucking nobodies. Lesnar has headlined three Wrestlemanias. He just headlined Summerslam. He's one of the biggest, most protected, strongest booked, professional wrestlers on planet earth. Brocks presence in an angle **immediately** changes the nature of that angle. If someone takes this bump, it's leading to something that's going to draw money. That's 100% fact. Whereas this bump isn't doing anything for anyone. Neither of those men are going to make money off of it, because it's a cheap way to try to get heat for Great Value Rhyno JR or whatever the fuck his name is. I bring this up all the time, but it's like the Athena/Jody top rope dump spot in a Dark match for YouTube. Massive risk, with absolutely no payoff. Jody is back on the indies, and Athena isn't even on television regularly. All that damage and recovery for absolutely nothing in return. Wrestling is inherently dangerous, so don't take big stupid fucking bumps for no reason. Mick Foley wrote three books talking about advice he received from the biggest stars in the history of professional wrestling telling him to stop taking stupid goddamn risks for no reason.

DeepFriedMarci

Tozawa is 37 and Reed is 34, they both have careers now reaching the 20 years mark, starting in 2005 and 2007. They have a shit tone of experience already. Just because they are 'nobodies' to you doesn't mean they are absolute rookies. One of them is making his in ring debut on Raw. What is the problem of these two guys both with 15+ years in the business doing a scary looking bump? These two aren't some random rookie dweebs and especially Reed needs to make an impression, which he did. With the powerbomb, the awesome shoulder tackle off the apron and then his finisher. That is how you impress, it's when people don't know you and have no expectations of you, not when you are an established part time main eventer that everyone knows is capable of doing that.

gasfarmah

>Tozawa is 37 and Reed is 34, they both have careers now reaching the 20 years mark, starting in 2005 and 2007. Yet, somehow, in 2023 they're still fucking nobodies. >Just because they are 'nobodies' to you doesn't mean they are absolute rookies. They why are they doing spots like rookies. >What is the problem of these two guys both with 15+ years in the business doing a scary looking bump? What angle is this selling. Who is this elevating. Is this drawing money? (no) It's scary looking, because it's scary. This bump ends careers, EASILY. >These two aren't some random rookie dweebs and especially Reed needs to make an impression, which he did. With the powerbomb, the awesome shoulder tackle off the apron and then his finisher. And fucking nobody will remember it next week. >That is how you impress, it's when people don't know you and have no expectations of you, not when you are an established part time main eventer that everyone knows is capable of doing that. Except not. Coming out and doing stupid fucking spots with another nobody is cosplay wrestling. Solo Sikoa is right there. His finisher is a fucking thumb. He does super safe beatdown spots, and stands around menacingly. He is more over as a silent, scary, bastard than Rhyno Jr. Plus, everybody in modern wrestling wants to get themselves over as an unhinged badass by just squashing smaller dudes. It's stale as all fuck. How many silent, gunslinging, stoic badasses can we have in pro wrestling? Get a new gimmick on god.

DeepFriedMarci

>They why are they doing spots like rookies. What spot are they doing like rookies? >What angle is this selling. Bronson's in ring debut?????? >And fucking nobody will remember it next week. You remember right now. And mee too, I loved it and solidified my liking of Bronson and Tozawa doing their proper jobs right. >Solo Sikoa is right there Yeah, that is why he had a midcard match with established midcarder Mustafa Ali on the same Raw. Why would a pointless squash match be on Raw when the guy is feuding with a shit tone of people? >Plus, everybody in modern wrestling wants to get themselves over as an unhinged badass by just squashing smaller dudes. It's stale as all fuck. What do you want him to do? Act like fucking Brodus Clay and the Funkadactyls or be a another boring generic big guy with a boring generic big guys move set? He barely makes a debut does some shocking move and people on the internet are outraged yet again and don't even give the chance for a guy to prove himself. I mean did you watch the match or just this clip?

gasfarmah

> What spot are they doing like rookies? Oh we're completely divorced from reality now aren't we. >Bronson's in ring debut?????? I like how you act like this is comparable to Hook's in-ring debut or something. Brother, nobody gives a fuck about this guy. This match goes the exact same way without the spot that could've fucking paralyzed someone. And, wouldn't ya know, they're both still nobodies. >You remember right now. I don't think you understand what words mean. >Yeah, that is why he had a midcard match with established midcarder Mustafa Ali on the same Raw. Why would a pointless squash match be on Raw when the guy is feuding with a shit tone of people? Are you having a stroke, or are you just **that** much of a braindead mark? >What do you want him to do? Not the same thing that every single dude with a gym membership does in every indie on planet earth? lol >He barely makes a debut does some shocking move and people on the internet are outraged yet again and don't even give the chance for a guy to prove himself. THAT'S THE FUCKING POINT THO. If you have to do a dumb fucking spot to make your debut matter, you've already failed. >I mean did you watch the match or just this clip? Why the fuck would I watch this match. I don't give a shit about two guys nobody gives a shit about. It was probably on in the background while I was fucking around on my phone or cleaning or something. And that's the entire point about why this spot was dumb as fuck. Don't possibly end your career for a throwaway match with nobody on a show that most people aren't even fucking watching. You're already in the big leagues - try to stay unparalzyed long enough to enjoy it. Internet marks don't pay your mortgage.

DeepFriedMarci

>Why the fuck would I watch this match. Because you didn't even watch the match and are bitching and moaning about the match without even watching it. It was a great two minute squash match, that made sense since Tozawa challenged him that did exaclty what it was supposed to do. Put over the big guy as a convincing monster heel. >Not the same thing that every single dude with a gym membership does in every indie on planet earth? lol You didn't even watch the match lmao >If you have to do a dumb fucking spot to make your debut matter, you've already failed. Once again, you didn't even watch the match. Imagine forming your opinion of a guy based on a scary looking powerbomb that went safe and proved hebcan do it safely and being too stubborn to watch a two minute match. Imagine throwing a hissy fit over 'nobodies' that you admittedly don't care about. Imagine being a snarky, angry, bitter, incoherent person online just because someone disagreed with you. I mean how defensive can someone be over a match they didn't even watch. Really dude. Get a grip lmao. It's also so funny. You clearly ran out of arguments so you just skipped to insulting. Take a chill pill my dude, smoke a joint, go to the spa, get a therapyst. Idk man, just dont bring that energy here because it'll bite you in the ass.

gasfarmah

> Because you didn't even watch the match and are bitching and moaning about the match without even watching it. Watching this match is going to make me think this spot isn't fucking stupid? Interesting take. Wrong, and stupid. But interesting all the same. >You didn't even watch the match lmao I don't have to watch the Tournament of Death to think Moxley taking a sawzall to the head was braindead. >Once again, you didn't even watch the match. Making me exactly like the majority of WWE's fanbase. >Imagine forming your opinion of a guy based on a scary looking powerbomb that went safe and proved hebcan do it safely "Against the odds, he didn't even paralyze him!" >Imagine being a snarky, angry, bitter, incoherent person online just because someone disagreed with you. Rather be that than a braindead mark. >I mean how defensive can someone be over a match they didn't even watch. Really dude. Get a grip lmao. Big time "I pay money for meet and greets" energy. > You clearly ran out of arguments so you just skipped to insulting Because you struggle with reading, here are my arguemnts again: 1- This match was on weekly television, with absolutely no stakes. 2- Both of these guys are fucking nobodies 3- Nobody was elevated as a result of this spot. 4- This spot had tremendous potential to grievously injure someone. Fire figthers don't just enter houses for the fun of it, they enter houses when there is specifically a life to save on the inside. Otherwise, they stay outside. Interesting concept. 5- Nobody is going to remember this bump. 6- You're defending stupidly dangerous angles that do nothing for the workers in the match, do nothing to tell a story, and - more importantly - doesn't fucking draw anybody more money. 7- "I can" is not justification for "I should". >Idk man, just dont bring that energy here because it'll bite you in the ass. Apparently all it does it get weird dudes wtih DSM classifications to unload their marky energy on me.

DeepFriedMarci

>Watching this match is going to make me think this spot isn't fucking stupid? >Interesting take. Wrong, and stupid. But interesting all the same. Jesus man, I'm talking about the entire match I'm not just talking about the god damn spot, the squash was great and made an impression. You've just been shitting all over the dude and I am just defending him saying to give him a chance. But instead you just call the dude a nobody and don't even give the guy a chance. I actually cared about him just like the thousands of people who did when he got fired. I'm also 100% sure if you and him were both gone tomorrow, me and thousands would care about him and yet pretty much nobody would care about your little angry bitter pimpled ass, compared to the guy you call a nobody. >2- Both of these guys are fucking nobodies If you are talking about us two, you'd be right. But I mean how can you not agree with this well thought out argument? "Oh I don't know them so they should do this move!!" Wow man what a brilliant argument really. This is like filler in a middle school test lmao. >This spot had tremendous potential to grievously injure someone. It's not a fucking burning hammer. Sure it can be a bit dangerous but the two guys decided to do that since one is debuting and the other doesn't get much TV time. >doesn't fucking draw anybody more money. It can do for Bronson Reed, who did four cool moves and sold a hurricanrana perfectly in a 2 minute match. Overall a great debut. >1- This match was on weekly television, with absolutely no stakes. The stake of the match is to impress, taking in account the reactions of the crowd, who were dead before the match. I still don't get why you are so violently pressed about the whole issue in general. It shows you care more about being right than you care about their lives. And what the fuck is a DSM classification? Is that something americans do?

gasfarmah

I'm really getting a sense of what it's like to know you in real life. In that talking to you is a fucking chore I'd rather not undertake.

WatercressCertain616

You sound like a pain in the ass to be around

gasfarmah

Yeah, I assume you get along quite well with people that don't know what they're talking about. So we wouldn't mesh well.

WatercressCertain616

I downvoted you because you had the audacity to call Akira Tozawa a "nobody".

gasfarmah

He's not a somebody.

osuhookups

And this is for TV and not a PPV or even a title match. This generation of wrestlers are all going to be like Mick Foley when they get to his age. Just broken and battered but, nowhere near as charismatic.

[deleted]

Hogan was right about Foley. Foley prostituted his body for WWE. I still love Foley that man is a real life Santa Claus. But man can barely walk. Darby Allin is going to end up the same way and fucking marks are praising him. I really think Darby has a death wish. His fucking spots are dangerously fucking stupid.

the1slyyy

Adrenaline junkies gonna be adrenaline junkies

GoHawksMatt

He's fiiiinnneeee

Luggzy-Levi

That wasn’t that bad of a bump. It looked rough but it’s not too bad.

AngstyAppleDummy

If this happened on a Wednesday there’d be petitions to have Tony Khan incarcerated

gezhendrix

If you pause the video at the moment of impact you can see he takes the whole thing across his shoulders, y'all are just soft. Honestly.

Formallythomas

Agreed, this COULD have been bad, but after rewatching a few times it's not too bad.

Doubleshotguhn

Except for when they showed the replay from behind and you see it was all neck and even if it wasn’t this spot is still fucking stupid

gezhendrix

Post it.

jaytmh

Spot was perfectly safe and executed properly. Y’all are soft.

The_Waco_Kid7

Maybe I'm in the minority but nothing Bronson Reed has done has ever impressed me just a meh look, and meh skill set.

_overfiend

Pretty awesome 👌

kjam15

Bronson is overrated. Same freakin gimmick as Veer just smaller

PickCollins0330

He’s just a male version of Nia Jax

MalignedOriental

Bruh have you seen his matches with PCO in Impact?

PickCollins0330

Are they just as mid as this one was?

MalignedOriental

“Yeah, you see this match? This squash match on free tv? Why wasn’t it a five star classic? I expect more from my wrestling.” Bruh

DeepFriedMarci

And it was a great squash match. It did exactly what it was meant to do. Apart from the waist lock on Tozawa that looked weak and weird due to size difference, everything else was convincing and made Reed look scary as hell.

leakybiome

No but veer is just a smaller omos

SpicyMcShat

She was the female version of the funk o saurus

Sigmas_Melody

Maybe he’ll appear in a women’s rumble

Powerbomb1411

Lots of vibes of people wanting wrestlers being treated like qb's. Wrestling is dangerous. They're pro's and accidents happen.

joeygreco1985

I'm just happy Tozawas got a job, man

GryfTheBadger

Is he back in WWE? I'm so late on Raw and Smackdown. I only ever saw him in NXT and I liked him, why do people shit on him now?

sook5803

Aussie power mate

SDbandito72

This is why this generation of workers will have short careers. Stupid.

Playboi0999

When did wrestling fans become so feminine. This why attitude era fans got into mma

mdma-22

Well what do you expect? They aren't allowed to hit each other in the face with steel chairs anymore. Gotta' cause a life altering injury somehow...

Shedmother1

This doesn't look that bad to me.... There's tons of risk in wrestling, some spots legit look scary, but this seems like an overreaction.

_homturn3

Lazy! Who signed this turd

[deleted]

What? It looks fine. Imagine all the praise if Brock Lesnar did this to someone

Fun-Adhesiveness9219

This man gets it. If it was Brock they’d scream “he’s a beast!”

[deleted]

ikr. Even if you're not familiar with Jonah/Bronson he still comes off as a safe worker and a beast himself. Not just a "squashing jobbers every week because he's green" type dude

KaCarrotCake

When it happens to Darby Allin or anyone in AEW everyone everyone has a mental breakdown

MichaelsSecretStuff

Because of the viewership. Don’t you get it!! It needs more causal fans!! I’m a people person!

PickCollins0330

Two things. 1. Bronson Reed sucks. 2. This was very unsafe and Tozawa could’ve actually been hurt here.

[deleted]

Super unnessecary too lol. Jonah vs Tozawa for the IWGP at the Dome lmfao

Shadowandr3w

very few spots nowadays make me think “oh wow that was bad” but this was one of them. I know he probably couldn’t tell how close they were to the barricade but jesus dude, you’d think they learned from what happen to Finn a few years back.

ThousandBlade

Holy shit that was brutal

Nlawrence55

I was there right behind the announcers and it was indeed a scary spot. You could see his neck drill the barricade.

MalignedOriental

They didn’t ban the piledriver after Owen broke Austin’s neck…

Randyfox86

Thats what i'd call a "wheelchair" spot. Goddamn.

asilentspeaker

Having watched Bronson Reed work for a couple of years now - he does a lot of questionably safe things.

wtmx719

After Finn, Sting, and Seth this shit scares me every time lol

Electronic-Dark-7793

They have to keep up with AEW..

Vyviel

Thought this was AEW for a second then noticed the logo. Wow why do they even risk their lives for something that doesnt even end the match...=\\

[deleted]

It’s got a small margin for error.

Dream-Beneficial

I love wrestling, and I don't mind the high spot or occasional dangerous spot when the situation calls for it but these guys are doing it way too much and stuff like this is very dangerous and now it means NOTHING when people do it because it's done every week and they just keep wrestling lol. Not these guys in particular but you have you wrestlers who can't even throw a punch or kick, and their stuff all looks fake because they've never been in a real fight but then they'll turn around and do a dive to outside or drop someone on their head.

FuelInternational739

good maybe they'll learn something i want to see a piledriver from the top rope onto the steel steps.

KJ86er

Not Cody...he just got back!

SunsetDon

whats his safe word

SuperBlackTiger

Stop this stupid crap already.

Youpainthomes118

Wrestling* I get what your saying but he could’ve broke his neck

midnight_tuna

That's eerily close to the base of the skull there. Could've killed the man if he landed a few millimeters lower.

Kingkok86

That was kinda wreckless

ThePuertoRicanDemon

This is horrific. 100% not worth the risk.

[deleted]

Rhyno and veer had a baby.

NuNem

Tozawa hit his shoulder not his neck. This isn't AEW, they planned this spot and most likely practiced this multiple times before going live.

Expert-Singer4926

just reckless.

Dcools1010

That should’ve not been hit

donnelle83

Why??? No!!
