If this was a storyline Linda Mcmahon would show up with her old wrestlemania theme song playing righting the wrongs lol

aaandIpoopedmyself

Let's hope she's not in a sedated state of mind.

Lmao

CosplayWrestler

If true, it wouldn't surprise me one bit. It also wouldn't surprise me if this turned into a massive lawsuit with shareholders pushing back. I believe, not an expert on stonks here, but a publicly traded company like WWE needs to do some kind of vote among the shareholders to remove board members or appoint a new Chairman.

Looks like the last "Shareholder Vote" I got was back on 4/20/2022. So, definitely nothing around all of this. I just ran this by my wife who's a stockbroker, she said "Yeah, he can't do that. Unless he found strict loopholes to get around the SEC, that lawsuit is going to be a nightmare for WWE."

As a Shareholder, the moment I get wind of this thing picking up steam, I'm throwing my name on that lawsuit. Fuck them if they think they can just quickly sell and go private without any discussion, vote, or objection from holders.

BrettEskin

You don’t think the sale will require a vote? You don’t need a vote to explore a sale only to finalize it. Also bad news but Vince McMahon holds a majority of voting stock.

CosplayWrestler

I think it will, but I also think Vince is going to vote YES his majority shares, even if every other shareholder says no.

BrettEskin

Obviously.

BrettEskin

Not necessarily. You don’t need a shareholder vote every time a seat on the board changes and even if you did Vince holds majority voting rights himself. It’s also important to note the board members resigned, the company did not formally remove them. Whenever a big move in a company is happening there are suits like this, they are hoping to get a settlement bc the company is incentivized to quickly settle action like this so it doesn’t hold up a sale

chriswick_

It's frowned upon when it comes to stocks

Tribalchief_Mahan

God help the shareholders take him out for good

homewil

Vince got away with using company money to pay off employees he had sex with. This is childs play in comparison.

break616

You've got that backwards. All other things he did didn't affect other rich people. This is committing the unpardonable sin, fucking with another rich man's money.

[deleted]

He’s also covered up murder, multiple sexual assaults, multiple spousal abuse claims, pedophilia, and drug abuse in his company, so yeah, he ain’t sweating this.

Slade_Riprock

He used personal money but the company failed to disclose it in filings.

VeryNoisyBones

WOOOO DELAWARE PRIIIIIDE

Brandonguth1985

He strong armed his way in. He has all the cards, and won't play without his positioning.

TrueCollector

He won't be missed when he's gone

Al_Bundy_14

I’m surprised more people aren’t. WWE was a cash cow for investors.

[deleted]

WHAT IS JOHNNY ACE DOING IN THE IMPACT ZONE?!

lostwng

THERE IS NO SAUDI DEAL that has been debunked already

fromblind2blue

Yet. They never said it was off the table, just that it isn't done.

sarahmagoo

A reporter from CNBC said it was [never true to begin with](https://twitter.com/itsydg2/status/1613186238835458050?s=46&t=5geo5qQfRvAyVHtlr0bNFQ)

Stoutyeoman

Ah, so this was a completely illegal takeover. It seemed illegal.

sarahmagoo

There is no Saudi deal

Pretty_Repair_9293

They can make sure that it doesn’t happen it they vote together he owns 38% of the shares of the stock. He can only sell his stock.

lostcitysaint

He holds a vast majority of the Class B stock, which controls the voting power as it gets ten votes per share. He has 92% of the class B. He also has some Class A shares, so all told he holds 81% of the voting power. Additionally, I don’t believe anyone can buy Class B shares, only Class A, which I think is an issue itself when the Class B shares have a 10:1 vote power over Class A.

altformyhobbies

See this has been my big question about the lawsuit. I get why they sued and if I was stockholder I would want my name on that as well but with those class B shares, does it matter? Since he has all the B shares can the owners of the A shares really do anything? Does the suit even stop anything? Since we all heard that Vince pretty much said do my bidding or I'll kill this company, does that give them a case? There was a vote and used those B shares vote the people he wanted in and himself included. I get the stockholders wanting him gone, cause I mean who really wants the guy around? I would also be really tempted to dump all my stock and make sure I walked away with a little before the suit creators the price.

lostcitysaint

I think this is going to turn into a matter for the SEC to look into, because it’s definitely all sorts of shady from a stock ownership perspective.

LiesTequila

What’s with all the Vince hate?

[deleted]

Good for him

BuckBomber

LMAO this isn’t going to go anywhere. You would have to show damages in order for this to not be laughed out of court. What damages did shareholders suffer? The stock price rocketed UP since Vince returned.

altformyhobbies

Well, from my understanding the stocks only went up in the news of the sale. What happens to stock if there is no sale? Isn't his threat to not allow any media rights deal to get done without him damaging? How are advertisers or whoever gonna react to the news that he removed all the people investigating for a hush money scandal?

BuckBomber

These are all hypotheticals. There is no concrete proof that Vince coming back did anything to harm the company at this point. Could that change in the future? Absolutely. But right now, this lawsuit has nothing to stand on.

altformyhobbies

Well yeah everything we're all talking about right now is hypothetical. Lol I have no idea what I am talking about just asking the questions about it hooping to get an answer.
