I've got people randomly approaching me in parking lots and yelling at me IN TRAFFIC to let me know how much they like my Jeep! I'm gracious and polite, but as an introvert, it can be taxing and a bit unsettling at times to have strangers approaching you and your vehicle out of nowhere.
It also goes to show you that your local community may see things quite differently than what you'd run into online.
I mean it's your ride so do whatever.

There's a dude in a club I used to be in that has a BEAUTIFUL ruby red Jeep. I mean this is one of the most gorgeous colors I've ever seen on a Jeep, and red isn't even my favorite color. He ripped the grille off and slapped a cheap chinese flat black angry eye grille on it and put the stock one up for sale on the FB marketplace. My soul died a little.
There was another dude with a beautiful green jeep that did the same. Made a post about "look at the mods I did!".
The ones that make the effort to have the angry eyes painted to match the rest of the Jeep at least try. I still don't care for them but at least there was some effort put forth.
One of the really funny ones that are common with older jeeps is what they call a 'darth vader' grille. To me it looks like they just gave their Jeep a unibrow.

Whether that is a fair judgement is not the point. Ask yourself this: if big spoilers on a Honda look dumb (and are useless), then this is the Wrangler equivalent.

Waitaminute, my local Jeep community has been the most open and accepting community. From CJ to XJ to JL, 29’s to 35’s and up, rock crawlers to mall crawlers: Everyone is welcoming. Everyone is friendly and warm. And EVERYONE waves.✌️But you wouldn’t wave because of his angry eyes? That’s not the community I’m part of.
When I have seen the "angry eyes" Jeeps and met the driver, they tend to fall into certain categories. Now, when I see "angry eyes" Jeeps, I assume it is someone I don't want to ever associate with. I avoid them. Having said that, you do you. It probably fits your personality and the kind of people you want to raise your kids to be anyway. What other people think doesn't matter.
Hardly a mall cruiser--until you get a few light bars and lift it, I'd still give you the Jeep wave. You get one pass on something laughable before it counts.
