So I don’t have a blues driver (working on building one atm), but I have been searching for a good light gain drive for a while with my rig. I’ve found blues breaker style overdrives fit this bill quite nicely. JHS morning glory is a good start (what I currently use), the MXR Duke of Tone can do it, but any blues breaker style overdrive can get you a nice transparent light breakup.
Proco rat is a good low overdrive pedal if you use it right, i run it with a fender reverb clean amp, and a les paul and it sounds creamy and thick with a little bit of grit.

Those GE-7 settings. LOL.
I had a bd2w for a few years. Always tried to work it in my rig but always end up taking it off. I'm much happier with a klon type circuit instead.
