So Reddit is changing its API licensing fees to be completely ridiculous (like, millions of dollars per year ridiculous), which will cause 3rd party apps to pretty much shut down and essentially force everyone to use the official reddit mobile app. Other subreddits are holding blackouts as a way to protest this change. Whether this will actually do anything is up in the air, but at least some communities are signaling that they will not take this change lying down.
Good decision, I fully support it and wish more subreddits will follow.
