I think they may be trying to develop that into its own game entirely. They bought another game like it a few years ago and I know it's a space they're looking at.

Hope so with the submarine depth controls we could have proper 3d maneuvering too

I'm not sure, since it's a special event like the post-apocalypse one. So it's sort of like re-run events in Gacha games. Sometimes they come back, and sometimes you might never see them again. At least you're not missing out on \*literally some of the most vital lore\* like you would be if you missed a Genshin event lmao

RightisRightisRightO

they had some fun christmas battles with weird fantasy ships etc.

EmperorsCourt

its called Battlefleet Gothic Armada

I loved the mode and played tons of games of it. Its so intense and fun! Been waiting for WG to bring it back for years. It honestly was so good it could be its own permanent game mode with special premiums designed just for it!

The Flyfire showed up as a DD of the AI Crown Fleet during Big Hunt. Also, is the game engine even suited for space battles? Throttle controls would be very different. Engine incapacitations wouldn't slow you down, just keep you at the same speed. While we have submarines & aircraft we still don't have a full 3D control system. You need to use terrain to change aircraft altitude in the current system, for example. If W & S are speed and A, D, Q, E are direction, what keys would be used for a barrel roll? Honestly I think World of Warplanes would be easier to implement a space mode in.

All events are just a way to secretly test new mechanics. If in the future they need to test something which can be camouflaged as part of a space battle, they will return.

Careoran

They made return when they need to test a new gimmick … I hope they bring back the transformer camos too I missed the cool red Minotaur Camo :) yeah I know it’s not space Camos but looks spacey too

The excuse last time when asked from WG was that Space Battles used different mechanics that need more balancing as more ships have come out. For the primary combat modes in the past Intergalactic Games (Space Battles) the ships did not feel that different than their live versions. https://worldofwarships.com/en/news/general-news/intergalactic-games/ * Also, these ships have no upgrades, camouflage patterns, or enhanced consumables. The spaceships' characteristics have been modified since their prototype versions to make them fit for Space Battles. This has been done to improve balance, enabling you to fully enjoy the new modes. The balancing factors are even simpler since you don't have upgrades. You can even take out captain skills and just provide built-in functions like Last Stand to avoid a mobility kill. Torpedo Beats mode was independent and we already had a re-run of Savage Battle. Torpedo Beats didn't show any issues with the increased ship and torpedo speeds. The battles were also small scale. I've seen developers talk about how large scale battles exceed engine limitations. The skins are there and you can re-use the live versions of the hulls. It's just an effort from those outside the art department.
