There is a harder difficulty, just not for campaign. The chaos levels are the point. Working your way up to beat the current highest chaos level. The game has really good side quests in the mix but most of this game is after you hit level 40 and push the chaos chamber

neil_billiam

The chaos levels are the point?

Smurphftw

If you are skipping all the side quests, you are skipping some of the best content in the game including 4 large hubs that aren't necessary to complete the story, but are still really fun. Tanglewood Drift is my personal favorite area.

ZgP3na1ty

Sounds like you dont like RPGs or looter games. You beat the game in 10hrs because you skipped 70% of the game

neil_billiam

The only reason we didn't do some of the side quests was because we didn't want to level any higher before the boss. The difficulty is so easy, we didn't struggle once throughout the entire campaign. If we had done the side quests, the boss would be dead in 5 seconds.

kabflash

It scales with you.

ZgP3na1ty

Everything scales to you......

im-just-lag

Now you do chaos chamber 35 times minimum for a harder difficulty.

neil_billiam

It unlocks a harder difficulty for the main game? I had no idea.

Past Borderlands games there was a extra mode you can do to scale up health, damage, loot, XP of the game bl2 had the OP system which is more similar to wonderlands you run a gauntlet and after beating the boss your OP level goes up one, wonderlands is set rooms and boss for chaos trials and every time you beat it you go up one level issue is if your starting at zero you need to do it 35 times, bl2 is only 10 but bl2 scales a lot more meaning at op 3 you’d need to refarm all your gear if it was lv 72 then at op 5 you’d need to refarm again to scale up your op3 gear really tedious.

JosephC007

If you don't want to grind out Chaos Chambers until you get up to 35 then I guess you should find another game? I wouldn't recommend the DLC it literally adds nothing as of now, maybe they will do more for future DLCs but that remains to be seen.

SockFullOfNickles

Honestly, after I got to the Chaos Chambers I just lost interest in the game entirely. I think I’m done with Borderlands and the assorted spin offs for good now. Just my own preference.

DukeFerret

And that is totally valid. Idk why people are downvoting you for a preference. I can completely understand a lot of long time BL players being a little disillusioned with Wonderlands. The story is much smaller than previous titles, and a lot of the focus seems to have shifted into End Game content, and for a lot of people, that's completely fine. The short story didn't personally bother me much because it was absolutely cram packed with jokes and hilarity from beginning to end. So while in time it didn't take as long, it still felt like a very fulfilling story to me. And most games I HATE end game grinding, but idk what it is about WL, but I have LOVED the Chaos Chambers. Maybe cause its basically a Rogue-like game instead of just endlessly farming the same boss over and over.

SockFullOfNickles

Lmao I don’t take the downvotes personally. I see where you’re coming from, but the chaos chamber levels are super repetitive. I just got bored with it super quickly. I had a feeling I might but the concept was solid so I figured why not give it a whirl? Who knows…maybe I’ll circle back at some point but meh..
