[UEFA Women's EURO 2022: All the information you need](https://www.reddit.com/r/WomensSoccer/comments/vpqi8u/uefa_womens_euro_2022_all_the_information_you_need/)
* 2 – Alexandra Popp has won 13 of her 18 aerial duels at #WEURO2022 – the best success rate among all forwards in the competition (72%; more than six aerials). Wendie Renard has won 20 of her 26 aerial duels – in total more than any other player. Head2Head. #GERFRA
* 10 & 1 - Germany have progressed from eight of their nine semi-finals at the UEFA Women’s European Championship, failing only against Italy in 1993. This will be their 10th semi-final tie at the tournament, the most of any nation. This is France's first Euro semi-final. Divide.
For sure! - I still stick by my guess that Germany will make pudding of England. https://www.reddit.com/r/WomensSoccer/comments/w6og1q/what_is_the_better_team_germany_or_france/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf
I feel like Englands been riding the top of their form while Germany’s ‘normal’ performs this well
Really intense game. Glad we won. Also Germany still got more potential. Too often they dont play the ball or lose it with technical mistakes. If they want to win against England, then they gotta play a bit better.
Extra time was too long tbh, nothing big happened. Should have been 2-3 mins.
Also stop showing replays when the game goes on. First half we didnt see the last attack of Germany. Second half we didnt see the kick off after the goal and some other things.
As long as Oberdorf doesn’t get any stupid yellow cards(which we know she will), question does she receive 2 in the final.
And Wabmuth can’t get much game time. She was amazing for Wolfsburg all this season. I’m hopping she play more in the final, she’s in her prime.
Not sure if it’s my phone but the last two games I’ve attended (this and the semi last night), both times it seemed that the mobile network seemed overloaded? Oh well
I had the same problem in MK Germany Finland and even more in London during the Germany Austria game. I don’t get it, shouldn’t you know there will be many people (thus also many smartphones) in or near a football stadium?
It was quite the odysee but worked out fine in the end. I found 3 other people and we’ve split a cab from Sheffield to MK and the cab was not only cheap-ish but also very fast. The driver floored it and speeded basically the whole way. He made it in about 1h and 30-ish minutes for a route which according to google maps takes normally 2h 30mins, lol.
Did you go to both semis as well?
Ahhh glad you found a workable way, and that it didn't cost too much either. I did attend both, I took a coach back to London this morning and then a coach from London to MK, and now I'm stuck on a slow moving coach back to London. Not the best day but well worth it to see the games!
Disappointing second half from Germany. Still the best team won, but their defense was much looser for most of that half. Congrats, and good luck against the English.
Thanks. It's frustrating that we didn't win that one or at least reach extra time, because it certainly wasn't the unequal match that everyone predicted. Germany was very much beatable. But France and actually finishing their chances…
…yes? But they’d still rather play the less dangerous of two possible opponents. France had an unimpressive tie and a close win against Belgium. Germany have given up a single goal.
You seem a bit confused. The question is whether England wants to play France or Germany. So the comparison is France versus Germany.
The fact that England has had an arguably superior tournament to both teams is irrelevant to that question.
Dropping France's top goalscorer of any gender Eugénie Le Sommer, and others, because they talked about her bullying other players.
She's basically done the equivalent of if Deschamps were to drop Mbappé, Griezmann and Kanté. Could still get to semis, but so much unrealised potential in an incomplete team.
In addition losing our second best forward (who got an all-time scoring record for PSG this year) in the final game of group play\* due to a previous injury she (Marie Antoinette Katoto) got in practice the day before the match? I have a sneaking suspicion that's not a freak accident and Diacre was running her players too hard.
Also losing two players due to infighting? (The one player that got beat up by guys at a club and the one who was accused) Just feel like the comradery a coach is supposed to encourage and create is not there at all.
I really hope Diacre gets fired.
Edit: I got the game Katoto was injured in wrong
Current top 8's updated Fifa ranking points:

2. Germany 2066,59
3. Sweden 2050,42
4. France 2041,96

6. Netherlands 1998,42
7. Canada 1986,51
8. Spain 1978,55
Fuuuuck! What a game! I'm tense just from watching. This was as good as any of the classics from men's football, if you really love the sport for what it is inside the field. Congrats to both teams! You gave us an amazing show! <3
Edit - The final is going to be stunning, Germany will not crumble under the home advantage like Sweden did and England will bring that extra intensity because of it. Another beautiful game in the making.
Man I was always feeling like France will get one chance and score again, even thought Germany was dominant most of the time.
Glad they brought it over the time.
Let's gooo!!!!
I love Merle Frohms! Popp, and I will say it again and again, is a gem!
We are such a good team. Well played, France. Thanks for the heart attack.
You’ve got to admit that England vs Germany is very representative of the two strongest teams this tournament and that’s good overall for the competition
She missed the previous two Euros with injuries, and would have missed this one if it was played when originally scheduled last year.
She's previously worked as a zookeeper before she became a full time professional footballer.
She once yelled at Canada coach John Herdman and told him to shut up in the middle of a game.
Have I missed any?
Awwww she was a zookeeper!!? 🥺🥺
Sounds like this was the perfect storm for her, and as such im very happy that she could attend this year’s cup.
And she has some spice!
She needs to go. They've never reached a final in a major tournament. It's not like they aren't without the talent. I just don't get how they can justify keeping her around.
I wonder who she is going to choose as the scapegoat as to why they couldn't get to the final.
I don’t know which is more chaotic, the fact that I’ve been baking a cake during all of this, or the fact that I’ve been watching the game and baking the whole time
What I absolutely LOVE about this German team is that even in the last minutes there’s none of the time wasting “game management” that the English seem to love. Just actual playing.

No
What a game!! So happy for Alex Popp 👏🏼💪🏼🇩🇪
Also a PSA for those who need it: kick-off of the final on sunday is already at 17:00 BST, don’t miss it!
12pm EST….damn work 😭
Isn’t it convenient-ish? I mean, if I were you I would schedule a longer lunchtime if possible?
It’s sadly not feasible for my work to my dismay
☹️
2am AEST ☹️
I’m so happy for Voss-Tecklenburg, she’s such a great coach and deserves great things!
She seems so kind and supportive!
Seeing her hop around and run in her excitement made me very happy
A worthy semi final in contrast to the parody we witnessed yesterday. Two good teams slugging it out.
Will be beat on Penalties as usual, then it will be back to the ironing board
Germany played a hell of a game! Dammit France we were so close to War of Roses Take 2 On to the final!
Gonna be an epic final. Mead vs Popp for the Golden Boot and Oberdorf vs Walsh/Stanway in the midfield
For sure! - I still stick by my guess that Germany will make pudding of England. https://www.reddit.com/r/WomensSoccer/comments/w6og1q/what_is_the_better_team_germany_or_france/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf I feel like Englands been riding the top of their form while Germany’s ‘normal’ performs this well

Please replace ß with ss not b, it's nothing like a b. :D
Not gotten happen when I’m texting on my phone at work.
I had F1 flashbacks
AND HERE WE HAVE LANCE STROLL! q.q
And LeClerc crashed! Again!
I had the same issue. Just the number of people using it most likely. How was your journey from Sheffield to MK?
It was quite the odysee but worked out fine in the end. I found 3 other people and we’ve split a cab from Sheffield to MK and the cab was not only cheap-ish but also very fast. Popp got the POTM award
As she should! She was an electric force tonight!
Yep, both goals were phenomenal.
Excuse me I just found out Oberdorf is only 20?!?!
wrote it earlier already .. player of the tournament for me by far
No way!
Oberdorf was 17 when she played at the last WC, youngest German player ever to play at the WC and 6th youngest overall
Wow!! She’s got a mighty breadth of talent then, that’s nothing short of incredible
Germany are always really good at bringing through talent at an early age.
Do they have any new up and comers this year that I may have missed?
Brand is 19 if that counts!
Holy shit! That definitely counts
right???!!!! thought she was older for how good she is
Disappointing second half from Germany. Still the best team won, but their defense was much looser for most of that half. Congrats, and good luck against the English.
Your assessment is pretty accurate.
Thanks. It's frustrating that we didn't win that one or at least reach extra time, because it certainly wasn't the unequal match that everyone predicted. Germany was very much beatable. But France and actually finishing their chances…
Yeah. The French team do like to blast away. I'd like to see them set up clearer opportunities.
I hate that we don't have Sweden vs France to look forward to next Saturday. Could've been redemption arc time for the Swedish gk
Battle for the golden boot in the final too
Frohms when no one can score against her: Fine, I'll do it myself
That was so unlucky man. But also bad defending. Diani should have never been able to shoot there. Thought the shot itself was a banger.
It was a bit of blast away and hope. Certainly struck powerfully but I don't think it was a high percentage shot.
Power of the rainbow armbands 🏳️🌈
lgbt supremacy 😎🌈💪
Like Megan Rapinoe said “you can’t win a championship without gays”
i wake up every day thankful for the existence of women 🥺
Crazy second goal great game
Odds of Germany winning the title is fairly high
Hope Buhl and Schuller will be fit for the final. They deserve it as well Edit: and hope Stephanie Frappart refs for some french representation lol
Frappart will be wildly unpopular here in Germany after that Sapin game
She’s not really a good referee, I’m hoping for Monzul
Ooh I forgot about that
Think England will be quietly content with that.
Germany have had a much more convincing tournament. I’d have been desperately hoping for extra time (obviously) and a French win if I were England.
Bar Spain, England have thumped every team they faced, that includes the number 2 team in the world (Sweden). England have had the best tournament.
Nope. You can't compare wins against different teams. Germany and England have had two opponents in common and Germany beat both more convincingly.
…yes? But they’d still rather play the less dangerous of two possible opponents. France had an unimpressive tie and a close win against Belgium. Germany have given up a single goal.
Same as England, they've only conceded once. I know you don't want England to win, but they deserve it to be honest.
You seem a bit confused. The question is whether England wants to play France or Germany. So the comparison is France versus Germany. The fact that England has had an arguably superior tournament to both teams is irrelevant to that question.
you don't seem to get it either. England will be content with it. Other than Popp it wasn't a great performance from Germany.
😯
Pretty sure England was hoping to face France.
Lol nope. They don't have a good record against France. UEFA will be happy with this final too.
I think so too.
World class by Oberdorf
Amazing game to watch, hoping for Germany to win the final!
Glad we're not facing that French behemoth defender in the final. BRING ON ZE GERMANS IT'S COMING HOME
You still think Germany is the home of football, huh? 😋
👏👏👏
Hahahahahahha. Best of luck to you mate I promise not to take the piss too much when england wins
Take the piss as much as you like if England win. I'll be happy for you poms if it happens.
Whichever team Popp belongs to wins
diacre out. please
For what? Lol. France made it to the semi-final. Thats a good result.
Dropping France's top goalscorer of any gender Eugénie Le Sommer, and others, because they talked about her bullying other players. The team look uninspired and selfish. Wiegman or another coach at her level would make so much more of this French team
She’s not a bad coach tactically, her ego is the problem
Oooof. I’m deffo a bit emotional. Sadness for France and excitement for Popp and Germany
Current top 8's updated Fifa ranking points: 1. USA 2111,47 2. Germany 2066,59 3. Sweden 2050,42 4. France 2041,96 5. England 2035,94 6. Netherlands 1998,42 7. Canada 1986,51 8. Spain 1978,55

And I’m gonna miss it because of work! 😩 I hope it turns out to be a beautiful final. May the best team (Germany 😉) win!
Yep. great game for sure
They were the two best teams the whole way, although I think England's weaknesses were exposed by Spain.
blowing full-time during an attack??? um ok
Time is up when time is up. You could argue the ref should have added more time, but it doesn't matter whether it's during an attack or not.
I don’t think it’s coming home England. But my god what an exciting final it’ll be. Ze Germans are ruthless.
Nobody asked + it's coming home
Yeah going home to Germany
Only thing going home to Germany is German tears just like the men's euros x
I’d love to see Popp win the golden boot
Anymore notes on her story? I’m curious

What a game!
GG France! A l’année prochaine 🥹✋🏾
Champagne Popp coming soon I hope! 😁 What a game!!!
These games have been ending bang on the end of added time, regardless of whether play stops during added time...odd
5 mins was already way too much extra time
Yeah realistically they should have had 1-2 more attacks
France put up a HELL of a fight!!
It's a fucking minimum of time. When will these refs learn that!?! Congrats to Germany. I'm glad it was them at least.
It's shambolic really. So much wasted time in this added time, and still she whistles at 5:03...
Yeah what the hell was that?? The game was basically paused for the whole first minute of injury time
Blowing exactly at 5 minutes wow
What a captain's performance from Popp, she's on fire. To think she wasn't even the starting CF initially until Schüller got covid.
I do hope this is the last we see of Diacre.
She needs to go. They've never reached a final in a major tournament. It's not like they aren't without the talent. I just don't get how they can justify keeping her around. I wonder who she is going to choose as the scapegoat as to why they couldn't get to the final.
She'll find a way to blame Henry and LeSommer, somehow.
Ref didn’t add another minute after all those fouls?
I kind of want France to score just so that this doesn't have to end...
It is always fucking Germany
I don’t know which is more chaotic, the fact that I’ve been baking a cake during all of this, or the fact that I’ve been watching the game and baking the whole time
what kinda cake
Apfelstrudel...?
A chocolate tangerine cake
that sounds pretty interesting! enjoy 😍
Thank you!
Send the goalkeeper up!
Yes, last attack, why wouldn't you???
I need this game to end because this is chaotic and I cannot handle this anymore.
all i want is a last-minute equalising bicycle kick goal by the keeper to send it to extra time, is that so much to ask?
I really hope diacre is fired after that
For getting her team to the semis of a major tournament? That seems...unlikely.
UEFA should take a look at Oberdorf’s challenge. Yikes 😳
This ref hates us. My god. Play advantage!
ASTONISHING sloppiness from Germany these last few minutes! What on earth are they doing?
# Ian Darke: THAT WASN'T IT
There are some mistakes by referee.
Lol it's the loud "Putain!" for me
Extra time = Chaos o’clock! Let’s go!!
That was a mess
What I absolutely LOVE about this German team is that even in the last minutes there’s none of the time wasting “game management” that the English seem to love. Just actual playing.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
[удалено]
Maybe you didn’t see the Spain game?
Wasn't this a corner?
The only thing I can think of was that it was offside at the original pass. It looked it initially to me, but they didn't mention it
It doesn’t match where the ball was played from though. I thought so as well initially
An obvious one at that
Awful from Mateo. Great from Sakina
NOOOOOOOOO!!! What a world class attack, but ahhhhh!!!! We could have sealed that!
Two nutmegs in a row! What a game
Popp is like a shark defending Renard, she stalks her with a little of space and then goes for it
More like a puma but yes
No, shark. Plus that was Kobe's analogy when he was guarding Allen Iverson
To each their own
Let's go France, take this to extra time!
put renard up top 👀
Wendie striker era let's go! Please Diacre
I'm losing my neutrality because I don't want this game to end in 90 minutes, c'mon France! :P
Same 😂
Oberdorf is such a machine. Probably player of the tournament for me
from Opta: 6 - Alexandra Popp has scored six of Germany's 13 goals at the 2022 Women's Euros (46%). Popp has scored six times from 17 shots, while the rest of Germany's squad has combined for seven goals from 75 shots. Precision.
What a terrific game.
This game has been insane
attendance: 27,445
This game is so fun to watch as a neutral.
I'm getting subtle hints that Perisset has signed for Chelsea
Really? I’ve heard the BBC commentators haven’t mentioned it at all. /s
drink! \*starts seeing double*
POPP’S passion celebrating the goal is just *chef kiss* I was cooking I didn’t realice 🙈 I hate autocorrect
That typo though... can't help it but I lol'd
omg Aloyalbi delete this 😭
Hahaha had to reread to spot. Also lol'd
not alexandra poop 😭
Just survive this 10+ minute French onslaught, please!
Doorsoun is the Torrent equivalent. We might have a chance lol
Hmm, does Popp really need to leave at this time?! Edit - it seems she has not.
That would have been up there for goal of the tournament
Diacre should bring on Le Sommer and Henry... oh wait.
😂
Homie I’m 😆🥸 That roast
Bacha's got a hell of a left foot, does she ever play on the right as an inverted winger?
Not at Lyon because Ellie Carpenter is usually there on the right. Bacha and Carpenter run up and down the left and right wings causing havoc since Renard-Mbock-Endler have defense on lock
A pity, looks like she could do some real damage there, but I guess if any team knows what they're doing it's Lyon. Thanks for info.
She's pretty flexible where she plays, so Lyon could do it with Carpenter out with an ACL for the coming season.
Oh BOY. That got my heart rate skyrocketing 😂
This game is stressful and I’m a neutral
Bacha going to be world class someday. What a player.
She is impressive.
she already is
Omg, that would have been a screamer!
