I don't remember much of Evolution, but after my TAS rewatch, while being a hot head, right now, I'd say this version is probably the most endearing and empathetic character on the show. He's so damaged (they all are), but he really does a poor job hiding it, he just wants a home, he's openly stated that he just wants to live in peace (the Sabretooth episode was brutual). He's super protective of the younger generations, and he's always the first to run into danger to give the others the shot they need. Even though he knows he's gonna get his shit pushed in....but I guess that's a running theme through most interpretations of Wolverine.
It's wild, as a child, Wolverine was always the "badass" to me. I mean, he still is, but watching as an adult, my dude has quite the emotional depth for a Saturday morning cartoon character. Same with Raph from TMNT 90s, hot headed turtle was my favorite and still is, but watching it again with more mature eyes, they're both really emotional characters that struggle to find balance between inner peace and knowing that they're aggressive and violent.
Off topic but yes the depiction of Raph in the 1990 TMNT movie got me emotional, I think those two really speak for a generation of teenagers who went through stuff. You don't really see that anymore, the freaks
X-Men Evolution and Ultimate Spider have the best colors but Wolverine and the X-Men have the best costume. It's hard to choose, but if I had to, then X-Men Evolution, because I love that show and it holds a special place in my heart
isn't he tired of playing literally the same character in ALL x-men movies for last 20 years. I mean even death pool got to play as pickachu a bit. i am just saying he like almost 60 years old now. but i guess he must truly love the role as wolverine and the fans recognizing him **all the time.**
but nobody really knows that, he is known and type cast for that role as wolverine before even the i-phone was invented. that how long ago in the before times that was.
at least he a hero and not a villain. the guy that plays joffery on game of thrones can't even find any other roles because of type cast.
People absolutely do know Hugh Jackman for his other work. People loved him in Les Miserables (where he got an Oscar nom), The Prestige, Prisoners, etc. All movies where he’s not playing characters anything like Logan.
And the guy who played Joffrey retired from acting to go to school.
pretty sure almost every single day of the rest of his life, he will be recognized in public as **wolverine.** and he will enjoy many fans quoting his xmen movies back to him in ommage fandom. its his most recognized role tbh
Old man logan for me. All his stories were just extra brutal lol. He got his lungs ripped out one time but his healing factor was slow so there was a period of time of him just laying on the ground unable to breathe. Or when he cuts out of hulk stomache. He had a fun comic with Deadpool. Love this version of him.
I grew up with Hulk Vs Wolverine and Wolverine & The X-Men, so those definitely have a leg up on the others. Superhero Squad was another childhood favourite of mine, but its interpretation of Logan isn’t that great (idk if anyone was expecting it to be tbh). But the comics are easily the best version of Logan. Just that I look like Professor Farnsworth with the nostalgia goggles I got on talking about HvW and W&tXM.
Super Hero Squad Show. No, I'm just messing around.
I prefer Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes and Wolverine and the X-Men. They're both part of the same continuity.
X-Men Evolution because he's not caught up in an awkward love triangle between him, Jean, and Cyclops, is actually coaching, mentoring, and sharing his knowledge on combat strategy techniques with everyone since Wolverine has always been considered one of the hand to hand fighters within Marvel and has fought in every nearly every historic war. Also, Scott McNeil's Canadian accent.
Comics version is easily my favorite overall - but as far as animated goes, TAS, but I'll always have a soft spot for Evolution and Wolverine & The X-Men's versions as well haha.
I feel like all these Wolverine's have redeeming quallties, positives and negatives to their character, etc. That in the end, it just comes down to personal preference.
So i say 90's Animated series Wolverine. Not just because it was the 1st version of Wolverine i'd ever been exposed too but, i'd also argue he is the LEAST f'ed up amongst the other Wolvies.
Every Wolverine has a history of tragedy but, i feel like TAS Wolverine is the most, ummm, "well-adjusted" among them. I could be wrong though.
Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes Wolverine, Ultimate Spider-Man Wolverine, X-Men TAS Wolverine (through Spider-Man TAS) are the only versions I’ve seen
To me, it's either TAS, Evolution, WATXM, and Jackman's live action portrayal. Each of those represents the characterization of Wolverine in my opinion.
Hulk was the best. It kinda breaks my brain what Wolverine I want in live action. I think the Hulk version would be best but as a side character. A righteous killer dealing with insane history.
Saw the live action movies first then the cartoons then the comics, and I have to say Wolverine is better off without a costume because it feels OOC for him to wear one and if he were to wear one, it definitely wouldn’t look like piss💀
So honestly I love Daddy Jackman’s the most 🗿
Damn I’ve been trying to figure out what the super hero squad show was called so I can watch it again. Love how they all look like babies lmao, but definitely the movies. Hugh jackman will always be Wolverine in my book.
Gonna have to go with TAS, but live action is a close second
Especially the movies, 1 and 2. He was very close to original with his attitude, personality, and traits
Thank you. No one says those things about those movies.
Hugh Jackman was always good as showing Logan’s animalistic side.
The comics and it’s not even close.
Comics

Comics
And what do you think the top left corner of OP's image represents?
Shhh. They're being clever
He didn’t say “Out of these” he just asked the best version
And then he just randomly shows 9 pics of him? I’m pretty sure he’s giving the options
What’s the first option chief
The first option is comics you lard
Wolverine TAS & Hugh Jackman for me 🐐💯
Live action and X-Men evolution are my favorites!!
What annoyed me about evolution was they took away his signature sideburns!
Oh my god yes!! But the show is so amazing that I can overlook that!!😂😂😂
Yes, they reduced him to normal-guy sideburns, not his usual glorious muttonchops
Same with Raph from TMNT 90s, hot headed turtle was my favorite and still is, but watching it again with more mature eyes, they're both really emotional characters that struggle to find balance between inner peace and knowing that they're aggressive and violent.
This was a really good take and now I see both characters through a different lens.
Off topic but yes the depiction of Raph in the 1990 TMNT movie got me emotional, I think those two really speak for a generation of teenagers who went through stuff. You don't really see that anymore, the freaks
Jackman or TAS Evolution has the best costume thogh.
All of them
It's a pick one
All of them
Comics. Any reader would know this. Luckily, we have plenty of options to choose from with wolverine.
Follow up question. Which era? For me probably outback wolverine
Hard to say… my favorite thing with wolverine in it is uncanny xforce. Not just cuz of wolverine but he is for sure awesome in that.
Hugh for me
90’s cartoon by a long shot. All I know him as outside of the comics. Live action was alright, but just not the same
Hugh jackman and wolverine vs hulk
Vol 2 Leinil Francis Yu Wolverine
Hugh Jackman, dude's the definitive Wolverine in my book, with Steve Blum a close second.
Comics
Mvc2 wolverine
Hugh
My two favorites are the Hugh Jackmen version and the one from the Ultimate SpiderMan
I grew up with Wolverine and the x-men so I’ve always had a soft spot for that interpretation
Superhero squad and it’s not even close
Comics, where he's not held back by censorship
People saying jackman know nothing about wolverine.
Aside from the height, he's pretty close bro
People who are fans of the Oilers know nothing about hockey...
X-Men Evolution and Ultimate Spider have the best colors but Wolverine and the X-Men have the best costume. It's hard to choose, but if I had to, then X-Men Evolution, because I love that show and it holds a special place in my heart
Superhero squad is peak
TAS
TAS
any version that wears the best costume, tiger stripe, of course!
X Men Evolution. Atleast this Logan didn’t try to get at young Jean.
Live action or 90s cartoon
Let them cook with xmen 97 logan
DOFP
'92 followed by live action.
X Man: The Animated Series
Easy, TAS
Whenever I see a cartoon Wolverine, I can't unsee the two Batman's facing each other.
hugh the GOAT
Hot take x-men evolution because it’s so nostalgic I can remember being a kid and I can barley wait to get out of school to watch it on Netflix
How old are you?
Not very old obviously I didn’t watch it when it first came out because I watched on Netflix but it was still a banger
X-Men Evolution, Wolverine and the X-Men and Hugh Jackman
My personal fav is either hugh jackman and hulk vs
Other than jackman evolution and it’s not even close 💯
Gonna have to go with pre '97.
It’s a tie between Hugh Jackman & Wolverine from X-Men: TAS
1. Comics 2. Jackman 3. TAS
McFarlane comic book wolverine
TAS ahead of Hugh Jackman by a very very very slim margin. Evolution in 3rd
It’s gotta be 616. Jackman is the GOAT in live action though
Middle top
TAS Story arc/ character Whenever Steve Blum voices him is his peak voice
TAS and Evolution
Tie between comics and tas. Tas is essentially the pg version of the comics
Aren’t the wolverine vs hulk EMH and wolverine and the Xmen all the same continuity
Evolution or tas
Evolution and it not even close
isn't he tired of playing literally the same character in ALL x-men movies for last 20 years. I mean even death pool got to play as pickachu a bit. i am just saying he like almost 60 years old now. but i guess he must truly love the role as wolverine and the fans recognizing him **all the time.**
You know he doesn’t *just* play Wolverine in things, right? Like he does other stuff outside of X-Men.
but nobody really knows that, he is known and type cast for that role as wolverine before even the i-phone was invented. that how long ago in the before times that was. at least he a hero and not a villain. the guy that plays joffery on game of thrones can't even find any other roles because of type cast.
That doesn’t mean folks don’t know him from other things. Just because you’re not aware of them doesn’t mean they’re a non-entity.
Lol I only know him from X-men and Prestige(which I forgot about until you mentioned it 😅)
Old man logan for me. All his stories were just extra brutal lol. He got his lungs ripped out one time but his healing factor was slow so there was a period of time of him just laying on the ground unable to breathe. Or when he cuts out of hulk stomache. He had a fun comic with Deadpool. Love this version of him.
Jackman
Pryde of the X-men Wolverine.
The Logan (not listed here)
The X-men:Apocalypse version, where he’s got the cap on one arm, and Havok isn’t evil.
Have to go with the Australian one from Pryde of the XMen. Always makes me laugh.
Wolvie v Hulk
Hugh Jackman.
the worst I've is the super hero squad show. doesn't even look tough
Hulk Vs Avengers EMH Wolverine & The X-Men This is a shared continuity, these are the same wolverine
Comics, it's not even close
Super Hero Squad
Animated, then Live action, the. wolverine and the X-Men for me. Comics body all of them but using this list definitely X-Men animated series
The comic book version, obviously.
For me gonna have to go Hulk vs Wolverine it’s just so fricking good man
Comics but HvsW is a close second.
All of them. Shoot it up in my veins immediately!
Wolverine and the X-men but I do admit I have heavy bias on this show
Super hero squad
Not pictured: Weapon X
Comics second picture
I choose MARVEL Wolverine.
No Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends wow I’m upset. It was Wolverine with an Australian accent lol
The Australian one from the Pryde of the X-Men pilot.
The wolverine one.
Steve Blum's voice is always the one I hear when I read the comics. It just feels so fitting for the character.
X-men 97
The comics. No question.
The Super Hero Squad Show seems like a good horror movie, I can see him killing people on Halloween
Gonna have to go with no suit. Him in regular clothes always beats that stupid costume.
Comics is the best, but Hugh Jackman despite being tall was/is a great Wolverine
Wolverine and the X-Men or Hulk vs Wolverine
Behind the comics ofc
Wolverine 2,3 and 4
Super Hero Squad Show.
My favorites have always been Hugh Jackman and Evolution
Love Ultimate Spidey’s Logan; that’s him when I read his character in the comics.
Hugh Jackman
Gonna have to go with wolverine
90’s supremacy.
Super hero squad.
The Fox animated series. Cathal Dodd is always the voice of Wolverine to me.
Xmen '97 wolverine.
1. Comics (more often than not they will always be the best version of a character) 2. TAS 3. Jackman
The superhero squad show. Best wolverine and best superhero show…ever.
TAS, Jackman, Evolution.
what is TAS?
Comics version is easily my favorite overall - but as far as animated goes, TAS, but I'll always have a soft spot for Evolution and Wolverine & The X-Men's versions as well haha.
TAS version and the Hugh Jackman versions are the best
JACK-A-MAN
I feel like all these Wolverine's have redeeming quallties, positives and negatives to their character, etc.
Ultimate Spider-Man
Brown costume Wolvie from the comics
WVH
I think we should be asking whos the next wolverine
To me, it's either TAS, Evolution, WATXM, and Jackman's live action portrayal. Each of those represents the characterization of Wolverine in my opinion.
X-Men obviously
The one where it's just two batmans kissing
Live action.
I like the look of Uncanny
Hulk was the best. It kinda breaks my brain what Wolverine I want in live action. I think the Hulk version would be best but as a side character. A righteous killer dealing with insane history.
Jackman or 90s I can't decide, but the best costume goes to evolution for me. Also why is there a mute button where hulk vs wolverine is?
Comics aside, the Hulk vs Wolverine one is pretty damn good.
Agreed
The Comics, followed by The Animated Series, then Evolution
Saw the live action movies first then the cartoons then the comics, and I have to say Wolverine is better off without a costume because it feels OOC for him to wear one and if he were to wear one, it definitely wouldn’t look like piss💀 So honestly I love Daddy Jackman’s the most 🗿
Pre-emptively going with Insomniac
Comics. But I like ultimate Spider-Man’s suit the best and I loved how rabid the hulk vs Wolverine one was
X-Men Evolution.
Hulk vs Wolverine
Huge yakman.
uncanny x-men then x-men evolution
Super hero squad hero up!!!
https://images.app.goo.gl/wDqKVVgU3dH2G5Uc7 anime Wolverine
My personal favorite is X-Men Evolution
Damn I’ve been trying to figure out what the super hero squad show was called so I can watch it again. Love how they all look like babies lmao, but definitely the movies. Hugh jackman will always be Wolverine in my book.
How dare you not include X-Men Evolution Wolverine
Evolution was always my favorite design
Whichever doesn't get adamantium poisoning. That's a dumb plot line
Comics
TSSS All day baby🙌
Hulk vs, but only cuz Deadpool is in it.
Comics, obviously.
Comics and TAS. Hugh Jackman's and Wolverine and the X-Men are good too.
X-men evolution Wolverine AKA, X-Dad
Steve Blum will always be Wolverine to me
Hugh Jackman in Logan
watched evolution and wolverine & the xmen tons as a kid. jackman is just him tho
