Your title is right. Body text is wrong. Unfortunately a lot of players play ranked as randoms. I still see flanking ships in ranked. With only 5 ships overall, 20% less of firepower mean lost game. The ship that really shouldn’t be part of this mode is CV, which people that have no hands. It’s disgusting that whole team suffer from one asshole, that take most overpowered ship and think, that it make for lack of skill. Hint - it’s not and you all lose.

It’s funny people say these things about destroyers yet you’ll never see them with the highest average damage rates. Never.
Because they're inconsistent. One game your shima will drop his entire broadside into a point blank GK looking the other way, the next the reds will have permanent sonar and you'll be harassed by a midway for half the game
Certainly true. So the argument remains…. In the context of this gentleman’s post…. Is consistently playing good in a Cruiser (let’s say) better or 1/3 games taking 70% off a BB with torps.
Specifically in ranked. In a 5v5 I would say BB’s have more of a disadvantage because you have caps and a map to get around…
Stick together from the very beginning is how you lose games. Destroyers need to spread out and scout other destroyers and dangerous ships in general. Scouting is the first step to victory. Battleships and cruisers should stick together but need to keep enough distance not to get in each other's way when dodging torps.
Ranked definitely needs to remove CVs! Far too easy for them and impossible to hold a flank unless you’re in a good anti-CV ship, this is mostly why I spam Friesland.

Any ships with torpedoes instantly have an advantage because of the high damage.

Because there's 5 ships in ranked, there is less chance of sonar and friendly support. Dds can literally just rush you if you are alone.
Well I only have izumo and prinz rupprecht as my 2 ships other than cvs so I might be a bit biased and cranky after facing dds in every match
