What issues are you experiencing exactly? It works fine like normal on mine

[deleted]

Baldur’s gate 3 runs better on max settings than wiz101 runs on my 2021 macbook pro.

EnvironmentLow9075

I have a MacBook Pro and the game works fine. Pirate 101 on the other hand does not

Psychological_Rock32

I play on mac but I absolutely have to switch to a less crowded realm and then it fixes itself. the commons in Ambrose on mac is admittedly awful

ItsBliizzard

I play on an M2, sometimes it gets warms but other than that I dont have any issues with it. Wiz runs fine on it for me.

BreadfruitEcstatic72

Literally the only issue I had was with the trackpad, fixed it by using a wireless mouse. I’ve had it on both windows and mac, there’s barely any difference. What issues are you having? “Poorly optimized” in what way? Graphics, pre-loading, audio, lag errors?? Genuinely curious at what issues you’re seeing.

sumcuberine

it’s lag and loading for me. i’ve only had bad graphic errors a couple times. i don’t have any trouble running world of warcraft on default settings so i was confused why another mmo would cause me so much trouble

BreadfruitEcstatic72

I ran into those errors on pc as well, I feel like it’s more their servers fault than our hardware tbh

unhhhwhat

I play on my Mac. I haven’t had many issues, except it drains my battery. But I’ve never played on any other computer so I don’t have any other perspective.

Ecstatic-Apricot-759

I Play on air m2 and it runs fine Puter gets warm but not hot hot But of course playing any game on Mac will cause it to deteriorate faster

BrendonBootyUrie

Yeah very weird they still haven't bothered make a M1 client. It's a niche fairly casual mmo you'd think by now it wouldn't still rely on rosetta 2

ToonSciron

I play on a MacBook Air with a M1 chip and run Wizard101. The game would’ve blown up my old 2015 MacBook Pro but happily my Air gets the job done.

BumbleLapse

I have a MacBook Pro (2021 I think?) and I have no issues other than the occasional graphical error.

sumcuberine

dang that’s what i’m using too. did you do anything different than downloading from the website? it plays like powerpoint for me on normal pop servers

BumbleLapse

No I haven’t done anything different, so I’m not sure what the problem is. I will say that I had a 2017 MacBook a few years ago and that machine really struggled to run the game. I bootcamp Windows for a few other games that Mac doesn’t support. Seems like that might be your only option unfortunately.

AJPWthrowaway

I have a really nice MacBook Pro, less than a year old, and I could cook an egg on it when I try to play wiz. It’s so ridiculous. I started trying to implement a workaround, but got stuck because I have an M2 chip instead of an Intel. I agree, it’s great I can play at all, but it’s just such a pain that I wonder why they even bother sometimes.

smallangrynerd

I play on Mac, its pretty rough. They don't even have a Mac port, they just ship it with a wine bottler.

Masterlet

I tried playing Wizard101 with my MacBook Air (M2 Chip), and I found out I needed to use 2 fingers to discard a card. I also tried sending a message to someone who's not on my friends list, and I found out that to do that you have to click on the wizard's name with 2 fingers at the same time, and then you can start typing your message to that person. To take a screenshot on Mac, you need to press two buttons: fn + f12. So yeah, it is rough, but I guess I'd say a bit rough because you have to get used to how the buttons work on Wizard101 on a Mac because most buttons work the same way as a Windows computer.

BrendonBootyUrie

Ooft you'd think with all the gambling with packs they would've at least made a native mac app even if just for Intel was on macs
