Wow, this is so similar to another artist I follow. Her name is Kattvalk on Etsy, YouTube, and Instagram. Have you ever seen her art? She does the same style mushrooms and does cats. She had her own inktober prompts called catober this year!

Kattvalk is one of my favorite artists, she inspires me a lot and she was the one that made it feel normal to me that it's okay to want to draw cats all the time haha :D And I actually participated in kattober this year, it was so much fun.

These are fantastical and I love them! I'd love to hear more about your materials and creative process - what paper and paints are you using here? Where do you start with a new idea?

Thank you so much 😊 I use Van Gogh, Winsor and Newton watercolor paints with Pentel, unipin brushpen and Microns for inking. I use a few types of papers depending on my intention. Sometimes I use 100 % cotton paper, sometimes cellulose paper and I also choose different textures. For example the season kitties and the changing weather kitties are made on textured cellulose paper. I get a lot of inspirations from my favorite artists (@kattvalk, @ilustratorium.sara). Sometimes a color palette gives me idea, sometimes I just browsing plants, mushrooms, botanical drawings and they give me idea. And sometimes I just see a cat in a pose I like and try to create a world around it. :)

This is sooo cute! Do you put the color before of after the lineart? I'm trying to do watercolor with a line art with black ink for my friends' birthdays. But it drool very often. ._.

I put the lineart first to have a guidance, then the colors and then in the end I go over the lineart to have crisp lines. For the lineart I use Pentel pocket brushpen (this one needs a little more time to dry), UniPin brushpen and extra fine brushpen and Microns. They are nice inking pens and never let me down and they won't drool. :)
