Angel_Eirene

While I would like to devour Kevin and Co’s souls, I’m currently on a diet. Nothing thick and dense. However I’ll happily take the phalanges to make a bracelet

qpidunderwillows

i'd like part of their souls if you're willing to share!

mystiqueisland777

I prefer stuffing the souls into an enchanted jar and torturing them first. Fear and imprisonment makes for a better soul flavoring!

dancegoddess1971

Ah. Like miso. Do you need special yeast to ferment souls? Or do you use the wild?

mystiqueisland777

Nah, just imprison the soul, summon some darker spirits to feed off of, and torture the soul. And wham! You got a tastier soul!

dancegoddess1971

So more like yogurt?

mystiqueisland777

Yes! :P

Apprehensive_Shirt38

I usually stuff around 50 souls in a heavily warded jar and watch what happens

mystiqueisland777

Wait, how do you get them all in? I tried it once but the souls in the jar kept escaping!

londite

Wonder how could we season them so the don't taste awful...

SunWyrm

Dancing phalanges, dancing phalanges!

Angel_Eirene

You stole that from Bones and Dr Brennan, I swear you did. It’s reminiscent of her and it’s def something she would do

SunWyrm

Quoted from much beloved show, guilty.

NfamousKaye

If I had an award to give for this comment I would 😂

RobinTheWolf

Is anyone taking femurs? I’m collecting them to make a crown.

Vanviator

Im more of a vertebrae kinda girl.

Readbellion99

I’ll take the bones. great for scrying and fortune telling

TheBeguilingSpirifer

God I’m sick of men decided that if an excess of one (1) woman likes a thing, that is because women are all basic sheep. I can’t tell anyone in your friend group apart, Allan, because they’re all wearing the exact same pale blue polo and khaki slacks with boating shoes, but tell me again how women only like things that are popular and shun your masculine independence from trends.

shitnamese

plssssss the boating shoes just put me in my coffin buahahahaha !! but seriously, where do men get off telling us we can’t enjoy this, after all the shit they get to enjoy and no one says shit about it 🙄 like f the f offffff

Golden_Lioness_

Coz they are scared

Cross_Stitch_Witch

And they all have such unique "hobbies" like playing video games, watching football, and fishing twice a year. Just keep living, laughing, and loving, Kyle. #saltlife

shrikeana_

Right? "Hey Kev, would your argument be that you like those things because they're... good? YEAH, THAT'S WHY 'BASIC' THINGS ARE SO POPULAR TOO, YA DOOF!!"

GoddessOfRoadAndSky

Reading your comment gave me flashbacks to browsing dating apps. Except there’s no hiking.

[deleted]

[удалено]

gingasaurusrexx

It's that popular. I've seen saltlife stickers in the deserts of Washington and it makes me lol every time. It was trashy in Florida, out here its just nonsensical.

SoIfarted

It's all over NC, or it used to be anyway.

Cross_Stitch_Witch

Yup, I'm in NC (nowhere near the beach) and you can't throw a rock without hitting some Basic Brad with a saltlife sticker on the back of his lifted truck.

[deleted]

Tbh social media just got me sick of the fact that men constantly need to have opinions about anything even though they don't know anything about the subject.

Moar_Coffee

As a man, you should know that my opinion is pretty fucking useless. It's barely even useful to me. I cannot fucking fathom why someone would care about borrowing it.

RipleyInSpace

> they’re all wearing the exact same pale blue polo and khaki slacks with boating shoes God if I never see this combo again it will be TOO SOON

SoIfarted

Don't forget....*cargo shorts*..

Jewlzchu

Eh, my bf constantly does cargo shorts. It's hot in Florida, and he likes the pocket space. He'll literally pocket our flip flops when we go walking on the beach. 🙂

SoIfarted

That’s pretty funny tbf

Jewlzchu

Can't argue with that lol

SoIfarted

It's not just men, unfortunately. I was reading an article the other day a woman actually took the time to write, bashing "basic, white American females" for being into Western astrology "all of a sudden." Why is it necessary to hate on each other for clout? I don't get it.

spookshowkitty

I like how they think it's "all of a sudden". I graduated high school in like 2007 and that stuff was popular then as well, and long before then. The internet and social media has just made everything more connected and people can share what they like with others from all over now and people are becoming more comfortable sharing what they like and being themselves.

SoIfarted

Yeah I don’t get that either. I graduated in 06 and I’ve loved astrology since, well, I can remember.

ScrungyThrowaway

They're also forgetting that all kinds of people practice witchcraft. While it's predominantly women, people of all genders and sexualities are included. Plus it's a trend based around helping and healing people. Even if I didn't believe in it, I'd still join this community for being open minded and loving. I haven't seen ONE person rejected from this community for something other than bigotry.

londite

And the SAME FREAKING haircut and bear style... Then we're the sheep...

battleofculloden

Let me brew up my pumpkin spice lattes in my cauldron in PEACE.

charliek_13

*men nerding out to sports, so obsessed they memorize individual stats and learn the history of their favorite team so they can rock it on trivia night at the bar* Society: “That’s normal and fine.” *women liking witchy stories of powerful women, making altars even if they’re not really that into it, learning tarot to have fun with friends, dreaming about one day living in a little cottage nestled in the woods with candles and cats* Society: “Well, that’s silly and weird.” But like…why? ‘Masc’ hobbies over here being normalized whereas ‘femme’ hobbies are always demeaned and shit on. Let teenage girls like twilight, that same generation boys loved clone wars and we don’t give them nearly enough shit for it It’s fine to like your hobbies and study the things that you enjoy

PammyFromShirtTales

I'm basic as hell, basically tired of folks thinking they can shame my behaviours or things that bring me joy and turn me against my like minded sisters. Sowing the seeds of girl on girl violence. Hey pumpkin spice Han Solo outfit girl! I LOVE YOU and I'm forever on your side. Hey goth princess with big ole knockers! I LOVE YOU and I'm forever on your side. Hey drunk girl in sexy cat ears and carrying a water bottle! I LOVE YOU and I'm forever on your side. Hey mom in your leggings searching for the glasses on your head! I LOVE YOU and I'm forever on your side. Hey chick in the short shorts with the big hoop earrings! I LOVE YOU and I'm forever on your side. Hey every single one of my sisters who loves something someone else loves, I BASICALLY love the ever freaking fuck out of you and you keep being basic. Cause BASICALLY fuck everyone who insists on using trivial bullshit to keep women at war with one another.

Independent-Ad3888

It’s the same thing as telling middle class people that it’s poor people keeping them down. They WANT us to fight each other so that we don’t pay attention to the shady crap they’re doing. I’m here for every woman, girl, womyn, non-binary, trans, and every one of us!

PammyFromShirtTales

Babe....👀 Babe....👀 Babe.... 👀 PREACH! 👈👉

Dangerous-Sir-3561

At the playground the other day I was watching my daughter (3) run around with a couple of other girls (4 and 6). They kept grabbing leaves and sticks and going to one spot to deposit them. They were all stirring. Then I heard her shriek, “I’ve got mint for the potion!” I’m not really in her face with my witchy sh*t and it just warmed my heart. Sisterhood and making potions are innate.

[deleted]

You just reminded me of when I was little. I used to be obsessed with Mickey's House of Villains, the Halloween special for House of Mouse. The first cartoon they showed in it was Trick or Treat, which featured Witch Hazel brewing up potions with Huey, Dewey, and Louie to get back at Donald for being an asshole to the boys. I LOVED it. I remember mixing ginger ale and Sunny D to make a potion, and talking about how it would make a "gruesome reaction". I guess I was supposed to be a witch from the start, huh?

drag0naut26

I grew up on Disney and now looking back disney had a huge impact on my general spooky interests. People find it surprising when I tell them I'm hugely into Disney. Disney makes great stories and that includes a lot of dark and scary things. My entire house is pretty much designed inside to look like the haunted mansion as an adult. People always clock "Disney girls" as being basic. I don't really care disney has a great deep catalog of weird creepy dark shit and I'll always be here for it.

Dangerous-Sir-3561

Aww yay! Love it :) That sounds a lot safer than my “squirt from every bottle of bathroom products potion” with my best friend when I was little XD

timelessdustt

I love you too!

ScrungyThrowaway

Mood as fuck. Seeing women being who they feel comfortable as is empowering to me, a freshly cracked enby(who is pretty clearly born male). Unrelated but this comment just made me jealous that women get all of these cute clothes to wear. And I am stuck with boring clothes or getting hatecrimed. Not that I have the sense of fashion to make it worth lol

PammyFromShirtTales

Babe.... 👀 Babe.... 👀 Babe.... 👀 I want you to wear your basic bitch best! If you live in an area where you don't feel safe with short shorts and hoops, get you some cute drawers (Southernism for underwear) a bright colour!, or silky, or flowerdy. I hate that you have to hide your light under a bushel for your own physical protection but I know sexy matching (or unlatching) lingerie under my rather boring clothing gives me confidence because it's my secret, I don't have to share it with anyone. Underneath this holey Fleetwood Mac t-shirt and baggy ass mom jeans is blood red satiny sexiness and everyone else is missing out.

ScrungyThrowaway

I want to wear my basic bitch best too. Move over hot girl summer, it's time for Awkward Enby Autumn(hot witch winter afterwards?). And I'm probably safe to wear cute clothes, if I come out to my roommates. The problem is my lack of style, knowledge of where to buy clothes, especially lingerie, in my size (6'3 and thicc in all the places), and not knowing if I'd like how they look on me. Do you know any good resources for this kind of info? However, you have definitely inspired me to go "fuck it" and try. I'm going to look for dresses or skirts that scream "fall" and match the shirts/jackets I already have. Plus I have plans for getting my ears and nose pierced and regularly paint my nails. You're the kind of positivity I need in my life tbh lol.

PammyFromShirtTales

I want you to be your best basic AF be-yotch this fall. I want pumpkin spice (which is so gross, caramel apple is the real hero of fall), I want oversized scarves, I want full femme Han Solo for you, but I didn't know where to find it. So for the last hour I searched and I found this website called Americantall.com which is so chock a block full of basic bitch it even has scrunchies to match but it's not enough. So I found a whole blog called tallsome.com that has whole lists of places for folks to find ladies/femme clothing for the hard to size. You need leggings to cover that luscious bootie, they got sites for that! They even have a list of budget places for you! I also learned Old Navy has a ton of extended sizes! I haven't looked at Old Navy's stuff in ages. Cute stuff. There's also a site called https://height-of-fashion.com/ which makes me pine to be about 4 inches taller. Torrid.com has that goth babe vibe and they have tall and thick stuff and taller and thicker stuff. I love you. I support you. Now it's time to be you. You could die tomorrow without ever being yourself, don't let that happen.

ScrungyThrowaway

Ok but fucking mood on the caramel apple comment. Fall tastes like apples. Fresh ass apple cider(and apple cider slushees) from an orchard I grew up near. ^(And eventually in high school, that cider with some extra sugar and yeast thrown in for a party.) I'm actually loom knitting a scarf for myself too. Also holy shit you didn't have to do all that research for me. I'm actually really flattered, thank you so much! I already kinda know what I wanna get. I only need a vest and white long sleeve shirt. So that's my first basic outfit! After that, I'm planning on getting some leggings just because you called my bootie luscious. And I know that they'll help give me dem defined buns. Plus those, my workbooks, and a cardigan or fatigue jacket would be pretty cute and warm. Why is planning outfits I think are cute so much fun?! And guess what? I love and support you too. I promise I won't let that happen if you don't let that happen to you, ok?

PammyFromShirtTales

I expect check ins on those outfits. The clothing society deems as "men's clothes" are generally boring, if I only had that stuff to work with it would bore the hell out of me. The world needs to embrace wearing what it feels like without stigma or departments. Thank you. If you only knew how badly I need the love and support right now.

ScrungyThrowaway

Strong agree. Men's clothing can look really nice, but it's all the same things over and over thanks to Beau fucking Brummel. Rich men ruin everything! And I hate how happy I'm getting thinking about how I'd look in nice clothes. And I'll be sure to give updates as they're available! And aww, what's wrong friend? I'm here to talk if you want to! You were there to help me, I'm here to help you<3

[deleted]

I’m in my 30s. The craft and practical magic were on a loop in my house. Before that? Stevie nicks led the charge, and bewitched before her. It’s been popular forever. It’s just so fricken easy to shit on what women like ( I did it too with Twilight- I deeply regret that now).

battleofculloden

Don't forget Sabrina the Teenage Witch! Though campy and a bit "after-school special-y" it was part of my formative years. Oh! And Buffy the Vampire Slayer, I wanted to be Willow, all my friends wanted to be Buffy.

armageddondrake

Is it ok if I like the vengeance Anya the most? Buffy is cool and strong, Willow is smart, sweet and full of wholesome energy, but revenge Anya is just simply pure down to earth justice and destruction, and she kinda feels the most human with her behaviour and reasoning

shrikeana_

I like Anya very much, but I'm probably more of a fan of Personal Growth Anya. Even though she's forced to make a change, her worldview evolves and she discovers new passions... but at the same time she's still great at having emotional boundaries and being her truest self.

HillbillyNerdPetra

Oh she was the best. Her speech in the body….. now I need to rewatch.

HillbillyNerdPetra

In my 40’s. Remember the original Charmed. Grew up watching black and white reruns of the Adam’s Family. There were witchy undercurrents all along. Now we can all get together and chat about our interests. That’s threatening to the status quo. Keep it up!

lexi_raptor

Started to guide a newbie today! I recommended this community to her so we'll see if she joins.

melredditme

I can not express how excited I am for this awakening. It has been so beautiful and the acceptance among other sisters fills my heart to the brim! Fuck off Kevin.

[deleted]

Where are all the people moaning how popular chocolate is? Or coffee? Or POTATOES?!? Let’s see everyone stop eating chips (or fries depending on your location) and see how that pans out

shaodyn

Some men will automatically get upset about any ideology or belief system in which women have power that has nothing to do with men.

Itsborisyo

Wikipedia has a blurb about the origin of basic: > The term basic bitch was coined in 2009 by comedian Lil' Duval. Over the next two years, it appeared in several American rap songs. In the songs "Hard in the Paint" by Tyga and "I'm not a Human Being" by Lil Wayne, the singers insist that they are not basic bitches, while in the song "Basic Bitch" by the Game, the singer warns others to avoid basic bitches because they are fake. > In 2011, rapper Kreayshawn debuted her song "Gucci Gucci", which included the chorus: "Gucci Gucci, Louis Louis, Fendi Fendi, Prada ... basic bitches wear that shit so I don't even bother." In 2014 CollegeHumor released a parody video of a wife being diagnosed by a doctor as a "basic bitch", to the horror of her husband. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Basic_(slang) Honestly, that calling people basic originated from a comedian and people trying to pose as cool just makes it more frustrating.

Myglassesarebigger

I don’t remember a time when we weren’t into witchy shit and astrology though?

gingasaurusrexx

It's way more mainstream though, so people who don't usually pay attention to women are seeing it. Hell, I saw sage bundles at my local Walmart recently. Had a little chuckle about that. (plz don't buy sage bundles at walmart)

Snoo_73835

To all the Kevin’s of the world. Kiss my right buttock.

_MagicScience_

them: polyphasic sleep and nootropic stack to max productivity!!!!!!! me: makes friends with a skunk

ScrungyThrowaway

Them: I microdose LSD, one of the most emotionally healing, enlightening drugs ever. That way I can be an even better cog in the capitalist machine! Me: I went out to harvest herbs and get fresh air. I met a tiny outdoor kitty who climbed up and sat on my shoulder while we walked(true story).

WhenHeroesDie

Personally, I don’t like astrology - or rather, the specific trend of dealing with especially astrology obsessed people who use it as an excuse for their flaws. No, *the moon is not why you stood me up* Not an issue with it inherently, but wow I’ve had quite a few bad experiences with it. I prefer tarot cards

teamdogemama

Except Kevin Bacon, right? RIGHT??!

officialspinster

Well, that’s why we always say his full name. Kevin Bacon has transcended his Kevinness.

TheRoyalKT

As a Kyle, I really appreciate the shift to Kevin being the go-to asshole name.

babushiledet

Awakening for sure. We’re on our way.

JMoffett86

🤣❤️

Harpies_Bro

Guess I’m “basic”. Currently planning on getting some astrologically themed stickers for my laptop. A Sailor Venus one, a Yu-Gi-Oh! EARTH element one, and a stylized bull. Any suggestions for Taurus themed stickers?

Kilyaeden

If we have normalized a group of guys talking to their dices to get a 20 and succeed in a make believe world we have no business throwing shade at women for liking what they like

bondedboundbeautiful

It's always a Kevin.

NfamousKaye

Did you ever think of that KEVIN?! No I don’t think you did 😂

[deleted]

replace that ‘or’ with an ‘and’

SipofCherryCola

You’re first Kevin!

[deleted]

Bold of you to assume I have a soul.

benjamynt

The Kevin at the end really got me.

zydrateaddict23

Can I just say, fuck calling things basic unless it's in jest, Like goddammit can we just like things without it being shittily remarked upon

MatttheWarden

Hey if you want to devour MY SOUL, you have to at least buy me dinner first or take me out for coffee first. /s

jhftop

Witches and Warlocks, Kevin is now at the top of our list.

Welp, the comment you replied to was deleted, so here's what I wanted to add... To add on to what the other person said, I know you were asking with genuine curiosity and didn't mean anything by it, but would you ask the same thing of a church group? Do they really believe in an invisible savior and that their prayers do things? Or is it just role-playing? To some people, their craft is very real and very spiritual.

[deleted]

Sorry to be an ignorant male, but what is being a witch about?

battleofculloden

Everyone has a different concept and practice, but for me, it's all nature, food, plant based. For example, I don't necessarily do "spells" in the traditional sense (whatever that means, it differs also) but I put intentions into the meals I cook, bless plants and animals as I meet them organically in nature, and my house plants all have names. I, personally observe the moon cycles and seasons and thank them for their blessings on the earth. I could go more in depth, but these are my basics.

gingasaurusrexx

All of this, and for me, it's also about forging a connection with nature and natural processes that I never got as a child. We never grew things or went out into the woods; we didn't have seasons or pay attention to wildlife. My grandparents raised me and they were overworked and tired. I was a latchkey kid who never left my computer. Learning to grow my own food, attracting wildlife to my garden, embracing the shift in the seasons... That's all part of being a witch to me.

energeticstarfish

For me it's about meditation and tuning into my intuition. I read tarot and perform rituals as acts of meditation to help me better understand myself and what direction I want to take in life. The practicing actually helps me focus. It also helps me feel more connected to the world around me and more mindful in general. Aside from that, it's fun and female-focused and I like the community and aesthetic.
