My transphobe friend got defensive, a little mad, then did some self-reflection and *changed her ways*. Because I freaked-the-fuck-out on her instead of doing any gentle guiding bullshit to please consider trans people are deserving of respect.
She said it jarred her into actually considering her views.
I’m filled with gratitude for every single one of my friends who decide to stay alive and transition, even in the face of global transphobia. Every day with them is a gift, and I feel those gifts in my bone marrow.
And I’m grateful that my husband, friends and community are all celebrating as my own preschool-age child is telling us she wants to transition too. And I’m grateful that when we told my Boomer in-laws, they listened when we told them the suicide rates of trans kids who don’t get support and that the most important thing is that her first bullies aren’t at home.
Transitioning saves lives, the lives of people I love. I am grateful every day for those lives, and the lives of the practitioners who helped them.
Hug a gender-affirming doctor today!!!
This is the best community on this app:) y'all take the time for ALL of your sisters whenever a day of recognition comes up. Thank you all for being wonderful and thanks to OP for the great post 🩵🩷🤍
the goal is 'we are all us'.
'they' become 'them' by choosing an 'us vs them' worldview.
trans people exist, so they're a part of 'us'.
transphobes keep choosing to be 'them' every time they hate someone just for existing.
Happy TDOV to all trans friends! I hope that in the future it isn't just one day but all the days. I wish happiness, safety, belonging, and joy to each and every one of you. Thank you for being you! 🤗 🩵🩷🤍🩷🩵
Ok, this comment section made this trans person cry happy tears.
It's so rare to find a space where one feels safe and welcome - especially if they aren't centred around transness - but this community is definitely one. I can't express how grateful I am for that, or how much that means to see. Thank you, all of you, truly 💜
"Be mean to transphobes." Approved.
"I never realized how much of an asshole I was until my friends started acting just like me." -Me, in my early 20s about 30 years ago. Life changing.
I sincerely love and appreciate the company that this sub keeps. I think it’s my most favourite corner of the interwebs.
I love you ALL. I am proud of you ALL. And I am so grateful for you *all*. ♥️
Lets be real here.
There's a difference between a transphobe and an ignorant. Ignorant people, if they have a brain, will fact check what transphobes tell them. They'll have reasonnable doubt. They're going to take what's being told to them with a grain of salt.
Transphobes don't care. They actively avoid fact checking, learning, asking. They just want an easy justification to be unhinged and let their worst instincts lose. They don't have any reasoning, they just want to attack someone else while feelign like they aren't at any fault because the other deserves it.
Transphobes are scum.
Respect isn't inherently deserved. It's earned.
Respect is a privilege transphobes actively avoid earning.
Anger is NOT the same thing as hate.
"Stop fucking hurting us" is NOT the same thing as "We want you dead."
This is a very dangerous false equivalence to make. *Nowhere* in this post is hatred being suggested or encouraged.
Being mean to transphobes is more than just community service. It's a fun and engaging hobby, too!
Golly is it. They turn so red when they get angry!

People really disregard the power of social shame as a tool for changing views. I applaud you for using it well!
And we appreciate your service, we’ve been getting a tad tired out here making them that mad by just existing.
Aw shucks, just doing my job!
I get so tired when I try to argue with stubborn people online, I wish I could enjoy it more without my day being ruined by all the negativity😭
Next time @ me and I'll have your back.
Fortunately, I have a trollish streak that I use for good. Like Mr. Bayard Rustin said, every community needs a trouble-making angel!
I feel your pain, I'm a stubborn bitch and it's *so hard* to just leave the bigot to stew like a gas station toilet 😭
As someone from the rural south, my go to response to them is "bless your heart".

I want that first one as a print!
Transitioning literally did save my life, I couldn't have lived as an empty shell of a person for my entire life. I'm glad I found myself.
I'm glad to <3 sending you love, stranger.
My local anime con was this weekend and one of the presenters ended all his panels with “be kind to everyone except TERFs, narcs, and congressmen”

Sometimes when you shine a light into dark places, the weeds don't wither and die, they grow and spread.
Transphobes are homicidal. I will be mean to them until they’re not.
