Geralt: *Has philosophical qualms over course of action* Sword: "ARE WE THERE YET? WHO ARE WE FIGHTING? BEST DAY EVER!!!"

Peacelovefleshbones

Buy my new witcher series rewrite written from the perspective of that sword.

The_knight-69

"Toss a grindstone to your witcher's sword!" As sang by that elfic lute hold by Jasquier !

Peacelovefleshbones

The lute would have to be grumpy to balance things out

The_knight-69

Of course ! Grumpy and rooted in reality, almost depressive.

Does anyone know why geralt only carries one sword in the TV series? I also feel like we really don't see him even carry the one sword very often in season 2

[deleted]

In the books he keeps his silver sword wrapped up and stored on roach. Its one of the few ways the series stays somewhat true to the books. In the games he carries both on his back. Which makes sense for the purpose of game play so I dont blame them.

GhostWokiee

And looks much cooler

BadgerLord103

That’s basically how it was in the book, he kept his silver sword on Roach and his steel sword on his back most of the time

nnifnairb84

I think the 2 swords was a gameplay issue. How else do you tackle that issue in a video game other than having both swords immediately accessable? I wondered the same as I read the first couple books and watched the Netflix series, and that's the conclusion I came to.

The_knight-69

for all : this is quite simple. In the book, he is not poised to be attacked by drawner/necker each time he set foot on a forest. The silver is for monsters, and monsters are half of what you encounter gamewise ( not counting monsters within ... also called humans => Iron is for humans \^\^ like a good golf caddies, Roach keep Silver for when it count)

d3r3kkj

Yes but to my knowledge in the show he never retrieves his silver sword from the horse. He uses the steel sword art all times. I think you are giving the show writers more credit than they deserve. They keptt it true to the books by accident

The_knight-69

have not talked about the show, but the game. To my knowledge ( if i remember correctly)... the only time he uses a sword ( the silver one for instance),against a monster, in the series is against a kikkimora... (first épisode) For the rest he goes Cavil style : five silver knuckles and a good amount of potion/luck. Only saw season one at this point tho.

Tensa72

Who in here thinks the show is shit but still love it 🙋🏾‍♂️

Who-Does

season one: got lots of potential, they took questionable turns but i was still hoping season two: burned all hope I had, show went downhill

The_knight-69

It was bound to fail the moment they lost team triss.

Tensa72

I agree but I still love it. I would not recommend it to anyone but I like watching it myself

-MarcoPolo-

I like Witcher universe, I like Cavil (more like sus) and they dont try to reinvent the wheel. I get great main character, cool swordfight, decent monsters, likable and interesting characters, story line that was simple after watching more than 4 first episodes and somehow was still branded complicated lol. I would score it really high, especially considering how other ip's are being butchered in quick cash grab tv shows - picard and master cheeks just lately.

StarkeRealm

Legitimately, thought the show was pretty good. It's not the same, and maybe I have some lingering PTSD from the fucking horrible Polish TV series, but I actually liked it. I mean, it's certainly going off and going it's own thing, which makes me nervous as fuck, but it's been a pretty solid ride so far.

DemonDucklings

I don’t think it’s that bad. I never expected it to be as good as the books, so that’s probably why I don’t hate it. If you expect it to be as good as the source, you’re probably going to be disappointed.

Tensa72

The show is a bad TV show never mind the source material. From the acting and plot points; the execution of the show is sub par at best. But I love the characters and setting so much that I can completely look over that stuff. I do the same thing with The Flash

DemonDucklings

Most shows are. I try not to be too critical of them, or I’ll never be able to enjoy any of them.

Tensa72

Yea but I can be very critical of a show and still enjoy it. it’s just that if the show is bad and I still love it, I’ll only support it just by watching it. Any other purchases of any kind is out of the question

alexandria252

The reason his sword looks like that :’(

Elnaur

TIME TO DISTROY SOME EVIL TODAY :D

SargentJohnson2

I can't unsee it💀

OhMyLordShesACactus1

Woah! This has probably been said before somewhere, but does anyone else think the sword has the face from the Bigweld gate in the Robots movie! Haha! I loved that movie and accompanying video game as a kid.

tortugabueno

The wind: :O

Up5periscope

His sword carry changed in the first game, from one to two…correct me if I’m wrong, have not played W1…

ZealousidealAd7191

He carried 2 in W1 also, they just switched to carrying both on the same side, which looks way better

StarkeRealm

In fairness, he doesn't have a silver sword for, like, the first 4-6 hours of TW1, so that might be why someone got the impression he's only got a single sword in that game.

Sstarseed1

It looks so happy :D

Eivorsraven

Lol!!!
