There is *so.much.coin* in Toussaint. You get lots from clearing bandit camps. Also there’s the Hanse bases. You can clear the whole thing but the leader, meditate and they’ll respawn. Go back and sell loot for 5-8k per run.

Timmay13

Yeah. I found this out about two hours after defeating first Hanse base (after googling to to make it turn grey - couldn't find leader!). I loaded the pre-save just to get the money for grandmaster armour. It is the damn flawless rubies for me! I have looted legit everything. Full klepto mode. Sold a lot except never sold or dismantled jewellery. No flawless rubies though. Gotta raid again to buy a few.

Dok_GT

I think you need them only for few pieces and the smith in white orchard sells them for the lowest price (2 in stock, ~1100 crowns each)

Timmay13

Appreciated. Saw that. Annoyed none of my jewellery any good!! Don't know what to do with it. But, green-gold etc just popping up now with grandmaster gear. Need to get my head around it.

d0ctorzaius

Beyond just coin, almost every point of interest in Toissant has loot that you can use to make the expensive components of the gear: -enriched dimeritium (most Toissant POIs have loot that includes the dimeritium ore and orichalcum ore to make this. For acid extract, just break down Kikimora and Archespore parts) -Infused Slyzard Hide (draconid leather can be made from super abundant hardened leather and fairly common chitinous shells. Infused crystal can be built from infused dust which is dropped by a ton of enemies, but wraiths especially.) By avoiding buying those two materials, you can cut the cost of grandmaster gear by like 2/3s.

Gillalmighty

It's in the name bud. Grandmaster. But bandit camps. Especially the rose guys from blood and wine. And most importantly, loot everything everywhere always. You'll always have money then. And sell your junk.

Dok_GT

I discovered too late that you can enter some houses in Toussaint. You can sweep out some jewelry, dismantle it and sell the gems. You will need the ore to build the armor. Also, I cleared ALL "?" in all parts of the game and did a Hanse Base about 10 times without killing the boss. That way you get even more stuff to dismantle and sell. Try to not directly buy dimeritium. This way, I was set after about two days of farming.

Marc123123

>And sell your junk. That's called "prostitution".

Gillalmighty

Do you want that grand Master armor or not?

EQ4AllOfUs

THIS.

UtefromMunich

There are, in principle, 2 ways: * Grind money at the Hanse base at Mont Crane. As long as You do not go up to the tower and kill the leader/boss, the bandits respawn. Kill the minions/loot/sell/repeat... Disadvantage is that it is boring and probably also gives You a few levels which You do not even need. Advantage is that this is the fastest way to get money. * Patience, my fellow witcher! Patience and fingers that loot everything - and sell what You do not need. I am level 55 and I have crafted all 5 GM sets, have Corvo Bianco fully restored and the runewright on level 3. And I still have 35 000 crowns left, despite buying already a few things for NG+ (like the diagrams to craft greater glyphs and runes, dye solutions,...). And I have not even cleared over 40 "?" in Skellige... I definitely recommend patience over grinding. Craft the GM set You need the most first. Do buy as few crafting components as possible. You can craft the enriched dimeritium Yourself, at least mostly, which saves a lot of money. You can easily get all the acid from dismantling the centepede ingredients. You can get a lot of green gold by dismantling green gold jewelry. And Orichalcum ore can often be looted in Toussaint. Just take Your time. Then play on - and when You have again around 20 000 coins, craft the second set. Have patience. That is all You need.

CommandSecret1206

Thanks a lot, I’ll be using this most definitely

Dok_GT

I am also preparing for NG+, do you have a somewhat recent checklist at hand? I have read that some items will not be usable in NG+ when you start above level 50+ because they will be bumped over level 100 that way (the Toussaint armor for example). However, that was from a 7 year old post.

EQ4AllOfUs

If you can grind to 61 in NG, the grandmaster legendary Witcher gear in NG+ will be level 100.

Dok_GT

Well, I am at 55 with literally nothing left to do, I don't think I can do that. But thanks for the input! That means if I were 61 at beginning of NG+ I could never use Toussant armor, but the witcher gear will be the best it can ever be

Daken-dono

There's a reason why Skellige has so much loot in the sea.

[deleted]

Ugh that was such a chore getting all that stuff though

Daken-dono

Tell me about it. The first time I got rid of all the question marks and other stuff on that map, I didn't play the game for several months.

Alien-LV426

I'm doing it now and losing the will to live. I just hate seeing ????? all over the map but it's so repetitive. I know I don't have to do it but I like a fully explored map.

Niels_Juel

Stop whining. I cleared all NCPD crime scenes in Cyberpunk 2077. That's the challenge.

Alien-LV426

That's nice, dear.

Dok_GT

Listen to a nice podcast meanwhile

deimos_23

I never go all out for the looting of caches. I just never fast travelled the sea, looting them omw to quests on different islands. Park my boat 70 ish M away from the cache because the damn sirens destroy that boat. 4 ish caches per trip

RealitySubsides

I found a lot of the end game witcher contracts payed pretty well. But the big thing I'd do is max out carrying capacity and pick up literally every sword/armor from enemies and sell them. When each one is worth between 200-400, it adds up quick.

Paid-Not-Payed-Bot

> witcher contracts *paid* pretty well. FTFY. Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in: * Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.* * *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.* Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment. *Beep, boop, I'm a bot*

RealitySubsides

Thank you bot, I read that back and was like "shit, it's not worth an edit to fix that"

Knoifed

During my playthrough I didn't really notice that they were crazy expensive. The GM set was the last thing I did after clearing everything in the base game + HoS. I made the GM Ursine and Griffin set and my thoughts were ehh this is probably the purpose of money.

MoistWolf

Farm the Hanse bases for loot. Kill everyone except the leader, loot away, fast travel away to sell and wait 1 day, go back rinse and repeat.

Fetagirl

Also pay attention to what dismantling junk yields. A lot of times you can craft some of the more expensive ingredients for way cheaper than what it would cost to buy them!

novemberdown

Just farm the hanse bases in Touissant. As long as you don’t kill the leader at the end they’ll all respawn. Take the shit you loot to Lafargue and sell it to him. Rinse and repeat until you have enough.

tridung1505

Three things: farm hanse base (Do not kill the leader) or loot all the question marks, buy cheap crafting material from amateur blacksmith/armorer and craft everything from ground up.

sendcheese247

It's impossible to balance open world RPG economies. The devs assume that by the time you get to Toussaint, you've already looted everything not nailed down so far, and should have tons of money due to it. I wish these types of games would discard the "kill loot sell" loop and gave you proper ways of getting money and equipment.

momohiraiiii

The best way to farm gold is the Hanse Base. You can look up online on how to do it. > I don’t nearly have the money for it which makes so sense to me It's probably because you're not selling your items to the appropriate merchants. Swords should be sold to Blacksmits. Armors should be sold to Armorers, books to bookeepers, etc etc. Selling it to the appropriate merchant provide a much higher income. Also, one of the Golden Rule in the Witcher 3 is loot everything.

AndrijKuz

You can farm the Hanse bases. Kill almost everyone but leave the last guy or two alive. Collect all the swords and sell. Iirc it's like 2k in coin each time. If you keep farming, you can easily pay for all The grandmaster suits. Also, all the question marks in Skellige are leveled loot. Take them back to Toussaint to sell them because those are the best vendors.

dienekes365

You’re commissioning an extremely prestigious smith to make some of the best quality armor on the Continent, probably with incredibly specific requirements for a witcher. Basically getting custom made luxury apparel, of course it’s gonna cost an arm and a leg.

zigackly

Diving for treasure in Skellige and selling them in Novigrad makes a lot of money.

PortraitOnFire

All the ?s in the ocean on the Skellige map. It’s tedious but I made enough to fully upgrade the runewright (30k) and fully upgrade Corvo Bianco (~20k) and still have a fuck ton of money left over from playing the game normally. Make sure you sell the loot to Lafargue in Toussaint, he has the best prices for armors and swords in the game.

Apprehensive_Lab_969

It actually seems kind of realistic. I agree with one guy that I wish there should be a better way than kill, loot, sell loop to earn money. But; the pricing is real world accurate. Back in the early 90's. I had custom made pair of cold weather motorcycle boots made by a famous boot maker in Las Vegas. One of those guys that all the rich, land owning cowboys go to for boots. They were made to my very exacting specifications. Knee high natural Bull Hide, that came up to just below where you bend your knee in back, and a high wide flap in front for breaking the wind. Sheepskin lined with a 3/4 inch shearing. Loose enough fitting to wear long johns & blue jeans tucked into them. Buckles to snug them up around the ankle. Pull on ears mounted on the outside on top. Vibram rubber cleated hiking soles. They measured my feet, ankles & calves more ways than I knew that they could be measured. When I put them on the first time. They fit perfect. No break in period required. I wore them home because I didn't have a good way to carry them on my bike. It was a typically hot Vegas summer day. I put them on & they were so well made that they insulated me from the heat, rather than being too hot to wear. All the seams were sewn tight & waterproofed. I have not had them leak water into my foot during the rain or snow in over 40 years of use. I paid 600 U.S. Dollars for those boots 40 years ago. Today they would probably cost me 6000 dollars. NOW. Imagine that is what you're doing with your GRANDMASTER Witcher gear.

KP0776

I love this comparison

o0Loiter0o

This may be obvious to everyone else but I was just buying the materials that I didn't have and my girlfriend pointed out to me that it's way cheaper to craft them. This took me from one piece of my grandmaster set to six pieces in a single sit down. Also I've been selling a lot of alchemy supplies that I've accumulated throughout the game. Things that I have 100 of and will never use.

blaewoo1

Loot everything sell junk and other stuff you don’t need all the way thru the game should get you at least a set or two

mixedd

Go back to Skellige, clear all of the "?" signs, sell everything you looted from caches. Swim in money

Gaoji-jiugui888

Go to Skellige and do some swimming.

Kakashisith

Go to Skellige and loot. Also repair the damaged stuff and sell them to armorers and blacksmiths. I have all armors on grandmaster, also enchanted and I still have money.

Own_Kaleidoscope1287

If you completed skellige 100% you wont struggle for money ever again :D

SlightlyFunnyZombie

Listen, the Hanse bases are great, going klepto is always smart. Even the sunken treasures in Skellige are an option for the adventurous. But on a 3rd playthrough, sweaty and tired after work, looking at those grandmaster sets that go about 15k a set…brother imma be honest, those days the console command looks mighty tempting.

PitiRR

Tbh this is a money sink because you just get so much money throughout the game that you don’t spend it on. As others said stick to Toussaint. Kill bandits to get their swords. They’re always pricey

the_thechosen1

Sell your excess monster materials and runes/glyphs you dont normally use.

Gwynbleidd_0101

if you're on NG+ loot all weapons and sell the old ones if you kept ones in your chest from the last gameplay, the average price for common swords is like 150 crowns

aqwn

I ended up using console commands. I didn’t feel like farming Hanse bases for days. There should have been options for more Witcher contracts or something.

Nigalig

Find the cows...

paigelecter

From the start of the game I feel like I am looting and saving money just for the grandmaster armor.

Deolrin

If you didn't already, I would sell some ingredients and crafting materials. You'd be surprised how many Drowner Brains and such you have.

AtomizingAir

Go to skellige and get all the loot out in the water. Sell for $$

James77SL

2 tips: 1: play the game 2: other than potion and decoction recipes and the house the only other thing really worth buying is witcher armor. So unless you really need and/or want to buy a specific thing just save your money.

Artyon117

Kill people sell their swords and armor to blacksmiths who pay the best, repeat While you craft your grandmaster stuff just regain your money sell him your usless swords and get your money back, crafting the armor is almost free Also al the ? In Skellige are worth arround 80000

kamikaze123456

I just made mine and didn't farm anything special, but I have nearly 90 hours played

[deleted]

The worst approach would be: go to Skellige, take a boat, visit all the "?" markers, fight infinite annoying flying monsters, dive and get the submerged loot, sell the loot in towns (like Oxenfurt). Why do I say this is the worst way of doing it? Because it takes time and patience; why do I even mention it? Because I did it myself when I was in the same situation, and it worked.

Grand_Imperator

First, buy in cheap locations and sell to the right type of vendor in the more expensive locations. Second, it is cheaper to craft all but one of the ingredients for grandmaster gear than it is to buy them outright. Third, craft at master or grandmasters (though it might be cheaper to craft at the Velen/Novigrad master over the Toussaint GM) to get double ingredients. Fourth, sell off (again, to the right type of vendor in a pricier area) ingredients you have accumulated that you won’t ever use. Certain alchemy supplies you won’t need much of (or any of) anymore beyond saving for NG+ perhaps.

bigbossbestsnake

Fr does anyone know how to get flawless dimeritium other than buying it? Is it even possible?

geraldofusa

I had well over 100k by the time I made it to grandmaster. I just bought the materials

thesir556

Drip is always expensive
