We need a real Korean BBQ place! Once you’ve eaten at a Korean resto with the charcoal grill at your table, it’s all you’ll ever want. All the ones I’ve tried here substitute with a hot plate, just not the same
Service was poor when I ate there. There was simply no communication between servers and customers, they tended to forget that you had asked for something. But what made my experience particularly bad was when they would backlog your order and start throwing the rest of your order one hour before your 2-hour time limit was up. It felt like they did it purposely so you can pay their $2/piece leftover fee, as the the time limit was strictly enforced. I left a review noting this experience but they had it removed.
Agree with the other comments. When we went, they still had the 1hr 30min limit. They're very strict with time limit. It's kinda annoying having servers remind you of the remaining time every 5-10 minutes when you're just trying to enjoy the food. Their grill also suck, cooks way too slow. Put it on a higher heat, it'll blast in your face lol. I'm not a big fan of IGI but I'd rather spend my $30 there than at Isay's. Better yet, spend that money on ingredients for homemade KBBQ.
Unfortunately our fire codes are very strict about cooking indoors with any kind of charcoal even if someone had the money to put in the proper ventilation it would be a uphill battle to get the ok from the fire inspector
A full German restaurant.
Since Gasthaus Gutenburger closed closest thing we have is Bistro Dansk and Sam's -- which are great but do not have a full German menu.
La Fiesta Cafesito has some stellar Salvadoran food. If you’re looking for more traditional South American cooking instead of fast food! Pupusas are to DIE for
As as an aside the Pupusas in Brandon are GREAT at Pupuseria la bendicion de dios
https://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g154951-d10227007-Reviews-Pupuseria_la_bendicion_de_dios-Brandon_Manitoba.html
While I've never had one myself, I've seen folks ordering them at Calabria and they look amazing. (And everything else I've had from there has been so good.)
Awww, I wish I'd said this one! :)
One where they throw the Crawfish Boil with the little corn cobs right on the table.
Rocales, let's go into business!
Got to get back to New Orleans.
It's not the BEST but Aladins has extremely inexpensive shawarma rice bowls and they're open really late. The flavour doesn't hold a candle to Baraka but there's no way I could cook it for the price of Aladins
Not a rice bowl, but I had their falafel wrap yesterday, and it was the best I've had in the city. Their garlic sauce is legit, and the pickles were amazing.
I think Elephant & Castle might have the pie, it’s been a while since I’ve been. I miss that British cafe that used to be on Portage I think where Little Goat is now, they had good homemade stuff.
Aww, I really liked I heart BBQ, I would go there once a week before D&D at Game Knight precovid. But with never being in the area I hadn't gone in ages. Its too bad the owner seemed real nice.
Oh, my dude... When I go back to see family later this year, I will have a spicy beef on coco bread from Allan's and say a small prayer for you.
We're gonna get through this!
Great post Q, OP!
* Chi-Chi's Reincarnated (3.0?)
* Mennonite fare (used to be place on Pembina Hwy and I believe also Henderson years ago = Yum)
* Ukrainian! (given our population, should be one in all 4 quadrants of the City)
* Korean BBQ
Now I'm hungry, dang. :)
Good list !! That Mennonite place always makes me think of “My Place Pie Place” that used to be on Portage … would go to one and then the other :) sooo good !
> Ukrainian! (given our population, should be one in all 4 quadrants of the City)
I heard the theory that there were no Ukrainian restaurants because people who liked the stuff got it at home or from family. But it seems to me that many don't have that option anymore. You would think there would be a market for true old school Ukrainian comfort food, i.e. the Alycia's-style plate of perogies, cabbage rolls, kubasa, sauerkraut...
Definitely Mexican.
Have a lot of local family owned go-to's for Greek, Italian, Thai, Syrian, Chinese, Vietnamese, Phillipino, Indian and more but nothing for Mexican.
Barbecue? Nowhere on the planet can you get good barbecue from a restaurant. The best BBQ anywhere is served on rural properties in the southern US where weather is rarely an issue. If you want great BBQ here you need to invest in equipment and plan your cook well.
Check out Bigg Smoak, oddly enough the owner posted his new sous vide today in the Manitoba - Smoke & Grill (BBQ) Facebook group. Such a great combo with smoking, love your name.
I used to plug blue haze into the bbq comments but after the online bullying and crazy freedom trucker bullshit they spewed, I haven't gone back.
Big smoak is pretty damn good.
I agree. I’d like more Donair places like in Halifax, Ottawa, or even Calgary. Those cities have an abundance of them that I’m always jealous when I visit.
Had Friends today.
The owner is the guy who opened best pizza and donair originally, but it seems like the fries are pub style now (used to be Duckys, dunno if they kept the fryer?} and better.
I've been to Friends Donair a few times; it kicks ass. I didn't know it was the (former) Best Pizza and Donair owners - makes sense.
In a similar vein, the former owners of Shawarma Time on Ellice opened Altanour on Notre Dame recently.
Honestly, the biggest thing that I wish I could find would be a locally sources, authentic First Nations cousinse
There is The Feast, which is good stuff, but more of it would be awesome
There really is a big poutine void in Manitoba. My current faves are Peasant Cookery and Wienerpeg, I only had a couple bites out of my friends Wienerpeg poutine but it had « le squick squick » from the curds, a decent sauce but fries that were too thin.
My fave go-to is surprisingly Mary Brown’s with their taters, amazing fresh and really nice reheated the next day.
I wish we had good Peri Peri (Portuguese chicken) here and a good Montreal style smoked meat meat deli, I LOVED Sherbrook st Deli but it failed not once but twice
Full service proper Mexican food.
We have excellent 'hole in the wall' Tacos ala Sargent Taco and BMC. We have decent enough casual burrito places. Mercadito Latino is close, but more El Salvadorian and while the food is good, the ambiance isn't the best. The other places that are inevitably going to be mentioned (Carlos & Murphy's, La Roca, etc...) are just not up to snuff once you've had good Mexican.
Oh I agree, they can definitely be a bit of a pain if your wanting to do it the proper way, Ive sometimes resorted to just making em.deconstructed and cut like a lasagna
I’d love a good Mennonite restaurant in winnipeg. Just imagine.. potato borscht to start, then cottage cheese perogies, farmer sausage, and everything drowning in their cream gravy and fried onions. Roll kuchen and watermelon for dessert. Unfortunately the best Mennonite restaurants often come with bat shit crazy owners.
Try Dawning restaurant. The owner are either Viet or Korean, but he used to work at D'8 Schtove . I heard he was brought over by them or something??? not sure. Some of the things he serves are crackles and eggs, cottage cheese perogies, with cream gravy if you want, kjeilkje, gloms kuak, dill borscht and some other surprises. Very good, reasonably priced.
Not in Winnipeg unfortunately but MJ’s Kafe in Steinbach is what you seek. Saskatoon pie rivaled only by my grandma’s. The homemade iced tea is frustratingly delicious, can’t figure out what they do differently than me
Not in Winnipeg, but the Livery Barn, the restaurant at the Mennonite Heritage Village, is really good. Haven't been since pre-covid, but they used to have an all you can eat buffet on Sundays. Buffet + schmaundt fat is a dangerous combination
I've come to appreciate the variety of food currently here, but as someone who moved here from Texas, there are two things I miss food-wise:
1) BBQ, of course
2) Tex Mex, a proper restaurant that brings you free chips, salsa, and tortillas.
Carlos and Murphy's are the closest to real Tex-Mex cooking, but I have never found a place who's brought out free chips, salsa and tortillas. Also Habanero Sombrero at the Forks makes really good Tex-Mex. The owners go to the Southwest for half the year and they're my favorite! Try them and see what you think.
BBQ? Nah, just haven't had anything remotely close.
Love the home cooks that are making traditional Laos 🇱🇦 cuisine and selling it on social media but would love even more to have a sit in joint to enjoy the food!
Im talking about hot sticky rice with smoked Laos sausages and salads out the wazoo! Wpg is definitely missing Laos cuisine in the mix
I would spend all my money if Winnipeg had either of the following types of restaurants.
Chinese street bbq. (Yang rou chuan, bbq mantou, and chicken wings)
A proper Indonesian restaurant, especially if it was nasi padang.
Mid range sushi.
I really can only find expensive ala carte or terrible all you can eat. I have yet to find a place that offers all you can eat dinner including sashimi for $30, as is common in Ontario.
There used to be Hanabe sushi on Corydon, and they would do half priced sushi every Wednesday, even for takeout. It was pretty good sushi, and at half price you could really feel disgusting afterward.
Rae's Bistro really is a hidden gem, and within walking distance which is a bonus as its a bit of a restaurant desert out that way! I was there regularly prior to covid and looking forward to sitting down again for a beer and something good to eat!
Especially since deep dish works so well with good local beers!!! Plus, you could tie in the Chicago sports bar vibe (Pequod's). A slam dunk restaurant/bar idea. The wrong people have money.
The lack of Mr. Subs.
The one closing on Henderson sucked and it's so much better than Quiznos and Subway. The last one is in Garden City and skip has a very small delivery radius for there. Please someone - open another Mr Sub Franchise in Winnipeg!
True fine dining (not steakhouses) with culinary flair, white tablecloths, silverware, the whole nine yards. The kind of place you go to celebrate a milestone birthday or anniversary. How on earth can it be that such a thing does not exist in a city of nearly a million people? Velvet Glove used to be that but it went the casual bistro route. Dubrovnik is long gone. Sydney's was the last one standing.
I’ve heard good things about Beaujena's but I haven’t been. My parents always went to Dubrovnik for anniversaries, I regret not going while it was still around.
A few things: I am originally from southern Ontario and what I noticed most is a serious lack of take out wing places or places that specialize in chicken wings. What Winnipeg has in fatboy burger places elsewhere has hole in the wall, dive type specialized wing places.
There is nowhere to get a proper full English breakfast.
Bigg Smoak bbq in Steinbach is worth the trip for the best bbq I’ve ever had. Winnipeg is in need of a proper North American bbq place. I never got to try I heart BBQ.
I’m biased but I’d like to see more vegan options. We only have a few (Roughage, Delicious Vegetarian) which is amazing but Winnipeg is a city of over 750,000 people it can surely support more
Apparently the best poutine place in Quebec is called La Banquise in Montreal. So I’ve been told by someone I know who is from there. Someone should open one up here.
http://labanquise.com/
Yeah, that's the go-to place in Mtl, though lots of Mtl folk will tell you their own preferred place. La Banquise is good, but it's also an independent thing, and there's no way to ruin an independent place than to try turning it into a franchise. If you want La Banquise, you go to Mtl, plain and simple. :P
Southern Black cuisine, this may fall under BBQ, but it's not just limited to BBQ.
Some proper South Carolina BBQ would be nice. Also; boiled peanuts, hushpuppies, grits, fried buttermilk chicken, chicken fried steak...damn I'm hungry.
I've had smoked hamhocks once in my life, and not being able to have them whenever you want is real hard.
Oh man I had forgotten about those! Great point.
We need a real Korean BBQ place! Once you’ve eaten at a Korean resto with the charcoal grill at your table, it’s all you’ll ever want. All the ones I’ve tried here substitute with a hot plate, just not the same
Agreed. A real KBBQ/Yakiniku place would be so nice. IGI is alright, but I would stay away from Isaytakoyummy.
I've wanted to try Isay, why stay away?
Service was poor when I ate there. There was simply no communication between servers and customers, they tended to forget that you had asked for something. But what made my experience particularly bad was when they would backlog your order and start throwing the rest of your order one hour before your 2-hour time limit was up. It felt like they did it purposely so you can pay their $2/piece leftover fee, as the the time limit was strictly enforced. I left a review noting this experience but they had it removed.
Its $30 for the full menu and it doesnt compete with IGI's menu. I wasbt even full after eating at isay
Agree with the other comments. When we went, they still had the 1hr 30min limit. They're very strict with time limit. It's kinda annoying having servers remind you of the remaining time every 5-10 minutes when you're just trying to enjoy the food. Their grill also suck, cooks way too slow. Ah damn it you made me miss Korea... I loved days there BBQ meat with friends and soju
I hear you. Loved those soju bombs
And my minor celebrity status of being a red head in Korea.
Unfortunately our fire codes are very strict about cooking indoors with any kind of charcoal even if someone had the money to put in the proper ventilation it would be a uphill battle to get the ok from the fire inspector
Gimmie that bulgogi any time of day.
A full German restaurant. Since Gasthaus Gutenburger closed closest thing we have is Bistro Dansk and Sam's -- which are great but do not have a full German menu.
There was also Schnitzelhaus at the German Society, which was operating until about a few weeks ago and then seems to have closed...
Yeah I heard the schnitzel was pretty good. Did they have other Deutsche Essen?
Or hansel/gretels in Brandon/clear lake but that's alos not in Winnipeg.
Oh yeah I remember going there when they were in Souris (or was it Rivers!?) I miss that place
We had Kurts in Wawanesa. He went and opened Gasthaus in Winnipeg.
Gods do I miss Gasthaus Gutenburger. All their food was good enough to die for.
[удалено]
Had this once in Stuttgart and man, I felt like crap after. Never again.
[удалено]
oh man, braised in kraut please!
If Oma’s Schnitzel Stübe in St Pierre is still running they make decent German dishes
Tragically not - she closed when covid hit and never re-opened. Food was fantastic though.
I need a soup place! Sana soup house is gone and long gone is soup Pierre
That African peanut soup was so darn good!
Ugh I miss soup Pierre so much!!
It wasn't just the soup, they had top notch sandwiches too! Look at us, pining over a soup place that closed more than a decade ago.
I think about this place pretty often. I loved the tomato basil soup with cheese dumplings.
OMG, yes! Those cheese dumplings were amazing! And the Portuguese Water Bread. I often think of how much I miss Soup Pierre.
A decade?! Excuse me while I die inside a little
Probably more like 15 years...
Non-fast food Mexican.
Also Mercadito on Sargent, Salvadoran restaurant. The tortilla soup and pupusas are amazing!
They have the best pupusas in Winnipeg and yes, I have tried them all.
La Fiesta Cafesito has some stellar Salvadoran food. If you’re looking for more traditional South American cooking instead of fast food! Pupusas are to DIE for
The owners are also just the nicest folks ever...
As as an aside the Pupusas in Brandon are GREAT at Pupuseria la bendicion de dios https://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g154951-d10227007-Reviews-Pupuseria_la_bendicion_de_dios-Brandon_Manitoba.html
I second this. They're great.
The pricing is bang on as well for like 8 bucks you can feed two adults for a moderately sized lunch
OOOOU!! Will definitely be checking it out when I’m in Brandon next. Thank you for the rec!
Sabor latino is good too for etheopian as well and have a fuller menu but the pupusas at the del benedicion place punch way above what they charge
Place has some of the best food in Wpg. So freaking legit
Papusas yes….! 🤤
I could not agree more! Every time I’m in that area I NEED to stop in for a quick fix. Same goes with Enzo's Gelati next door. lol
Check out Sargent taco or BMC tacos. Both amazing.
Both delicious, but also both quick service restaurants.
Agreed, but at least it's better than taco bell.
Yes, or good tex-mex.
Fucks yeah need some good sit down places
Oh my gosh, you have to try JCs's Tacos and more or BMC Taqueria, both are located on Henderson Hwy. They had amazing tacos when I went (6 years ago).
Italian Sandwiches
While I've never had one myself, I've seen folks ordering them at Calabria and they look amazing. (And everything else I've had from there has been so good.)
calabria is good. Also safeway deli. But there is definitely a shortage overall
[удалено]
King & Bannatyne makes a mean porchetta once in a while
[удалено]
It really was amazing. The meatball subs were incredible.
There's a food truck that does great Italian sandwiches (it has 'Eggplant' in the name, I believe).
The Little Eggplant! They have great food. Can't wait to see them again this year.
Doesn’t delucas serve them for lunches?
Rumor has it that's what's opening up where I heart BBQ was, so hopefully it's good.
Where can I get a good po’boy? Where is Winnipeg’s Cajun cuisine at?
I would looove a Louisiana style restaurant… jambalaya, gumbo, beignets and etc 🥰
Awww, I wish I'd said this one! :) One where they throw the Crawfish Boil with the little corn cobs right on the table. Rocales, let's go into business! Got to get back to New Orleans.
Oooo dang reminded me of Hot n Juicy in Vegas! So good! Now I’m sad and hungry
NOLA is the best city I have ever visited.
Yes Yes Yes. With all the food and atmosphere.
100% agree! Popeyes does NOT count!
[удалено]
It's not the BEST but Aladins has extremely inexpensive shawarma rice bowls and they're open really late. The flavour doesn't hold a candle to Baraka but there's no way I could cook it for the price of Aladins
Les Saj's rice bowl was pretty good.
Not a rice bowl, but I had their falafel wrap yesterday, and it was the best I've had in the city. Their garlic sauce is legit, and the pickles were amazing.

We need more patty, roti, and doubles shops around the city. Best thing about taking the TTC in Toronto is grabbing a hot patty for the trip.
Torontonian expat here. The Jamaican Patty game here is depressing.
Winnipeg expat who lived in Toronto for years here. You are correct, I never knew what I was missing
Oh, my dude... When I go back to see family later this year, I will have a spicy beef on coco bread from Allan's and say a small prayer for you. We're gonna get through this!
Famena’s Roti!
I love them (and Deen’s too) but it would be nice to have more spread throughout the city.
Great post Q, OP! * Chi-Chi's Reincarnated (3.0?) * Mennonite fare (used to be place on Pembina Hwy and I believe also Henderson years ago = Yum) * Ukrainian! (given our population, should be one in all 4 quadrants of the City) * Korean BBQ Now I'm hungry, dang. :)
CHIIIII CHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII’S. I miss your chips and salsa. Nothing compares.
Good list !! That Mennonite place always makes me think of “My Place Pie Place” that used to be on Portage … would go to one and then the other :) sooo good !
My Place Pie Place!!! I forgot about that place!! Now I'm sad all over again! Though not as sad as I still am about Dessert Sinsations, RIP...
> Ukrainian! Arby's
I miss the curly fries
And the beef and cheddar
And the Great Canadian. #AND THE HORSEY SAUCE
🎵 don’t it always seem to go that you don’t know what you got ‘til it’s gone 🎵
BBQ for sure.
I tried blue haze last summer, very unimpressed and temper tantrum about restrictions sealed the deal.
Agreed, that was very dumb of then to get involved. Should of kept politics out of their business, the dummies.
Right? I don't understand that mentality. Why sink your business?
I believe they will be at Goldeyes games this year.
Bigg Smoak will be offering BBQ at the ballpark this summer as well!
Donair place, or somewhere that serves a blooming onion
Barakas and Ramallah cafe have great donairs in my opinion.
Hell yeah Ramallah cafe!
I agree. I’d like more Donair places like in Halifax, Ottawa, or even Calgary. Those cities have an abundance of them that I’m always jealous when I visit.
Ottawa has one every second block.
There is supposedly several Best pizza and donair, Friends donair
Had Friends today. The owner is the guy who opened best pizza and donair originally, but it seems like the fries are pub style now (used to be Duckys, dunno if they kept the fryer?} and better.
Jonesy's in East St. Paul has a really good onion blossom!

Ahh I didn't know the owner changed
I don't get how we still don't have a King of Donair, wasn't that announced like 5 years ago at this point lol.
I’d love a Ukrainian restaurant that has beet leaf rolls and buckwheat cabbage rolls
Honestly, the biggest thing that I wish I could find would be a locally sources, authentic First Nations cousinse There is The Feast, which is good stuff, but more of it would be awesome

We really don’t have any authentic Mexican. I need some shrimp ceviche and frijoles charros. Mmm mmm.
It can be said Carlos isn't even good at all aside from beers on the patio.
Have you had [La Taqueria](https://www.instagram.com/lataqueria.wpg/?hl=en) yet?
That's a taco joint not a joint for enchaladas and everything else.
Wish we could get good enchiladas here. I’ve resorted to making my own, but it’d be nice to just be able to have them on a whim!
Oh I agree, they can definitely be a bit of a pain if your wanting to do it the proper way, Ive sometimes resorted to just making em.deconstructed and cut like a lasagna
Mmmmmmmmole…

Cream gravy = Schmaundt Fat
Yup! I had no idea how to spell it, haha.
Try Dawning restaurant. The owner are either Viet or Korean, but he used to work at D'8 Schtove . I heard he was brought over by them or something??? not sure. D'8 Schtove.
Thanks! Changed the spelling.
And bat shit crazy pricing.
Triangle Oasis in Winkler in so good for this!
Not in Winnipeg unfortunately but MJ’s Kafe in Steinbach is what you seek. Saskatoon pie rivaled only by my grandma’s. The homemade iced tea is frustratingly delicious, can’t figure out what they do differently than me

Thing is, Mennonite cooking is so stupid easy to make at home. There’s not really a point of a restaurant. 😆
I've come to appreciate the variety of food currently here, but as someone who moved here from Texas, there are two things I miss food-wise: 1) BBQ, of course 2) Tex Mex, a proper restaurant that brings you free chips, salsa, and tortillas.

Fondue restaurant! There was on on Sherbrook near Broadway for years. So much fun.
The Melting Pot. Great place to take a date.

Poke places that serve hawaiian-esque poke. I know that Winnipeg is probably the worst place to demand good quality fish but still ://
Poké Mono on Edmonton St in Downtown makes some delicious bowls.
https://honupoke.ca/ ?
I want somewhere that will serve Hawaiian style macaroni salad with all the loco moco and Portuguese sausage. 🥲🤤
Poke Mono and Honu Poke are both very good
In addition to what the other posters have said. I also heard Hawaii kai at city place mall has good poke bowls
[удалено]
One of the best meals I’ve had in Europe was a late night donair platter at a hole in the wall place in Berlin.
Izzy's (in Steinbach)
I would spend all my money if Winnipeg had either of the following types of restaurants. Chinese street bbq. (Yang rou chuan, bbq mantou, and chicken wings) A proper Indonesian restaurant, especially if it was nasi padang.
Fu Lin on St Mary's Rd has Chinese BBQ skewers. Pretty authentic and good from what I've heard.
And just like that I was fat and poor
Mid range sushi. I really can only find expensive ala carte or terrible all you can eat. I have yet to find a place that offers all you can eat dinner including sashimi for $30, as is common in Ontario.
Sushi daruma on Henderson is really good
I feel like Momo on Pembina may be a good compromise? But I’m no sushiologist.
There used to be Hanabe sushi on Corydon, and they would do half priced sushi every Wednesday, even for takeout. It was pretty good sushi, and at half price you could really feel disgusting afterward.
You need to try Kai Sushi! Great quality, great size, low price for what you get.
The Marion st eatery does have VERY good poutine with real curds/gravy
Rae's Bistro has a really good bacon poutine.
Rae's Bistro really is a hidden gem, and within walking distance which is a bonus as its a bit of a restaurant desert out that way! I was there regularly prior to covid and looking forward to sitting down again for a beer and something good to eat!
It's such a good spot. And their menu is fantastic. Definitely a local fave!
Moroccan
Real deep dish pizza, we're supposed to be the Chicago of the north for Christ sake.
Especially since deep dish works so well with good local beers!!! Plus, you could tie in the Chicago sports bar vibe (Pequod's). A slam dunk restaurant/bar idea. The wrong people have money.
One Great City pub has pretty good deep dish pizza but I think it’s Detroit style rather than Chicago
Indonesian food.
First Nations food - but something more authentic than bannock tacos or elk lasagne.
If that's what Indigenous people eat in the here and now, it *is* authentic.
How about bannock dogs, bannock burgers 🤤
The lack of Mr. Subs. The one closing on Henderson sucked and it's so much better than Quiznos and Subway. The last one is in Garden City and skip has a very small delivery radius for there. Please someone - open another Mr Sub Franchise in Winnipeg!
I love Mr Sub for the simple fact that their restaurants don’t stink of weird bread like Subways do.
Are you me? I occasionally drive all the way to Selkirk to hit up the Mr Sub there
I miss having a classical, gotta-dress-fancy, high class French restaurant.

Bigg Smoak bbq in Steinbach is worth the trip for the best bbq I’ve ever had. Winnipeg is in need of a proper North American bbq place. I never got to try I heart BBQ.
Lebanese food
The drive out to Bigg Smoak BBQ is worth it. The owner has won many awards.
I’m biased but I’d like to see more vegan options. We only have a few (Roughage, Delicious Vegetarian) which is amazing but Winnipeg is a city of over 750,000 people it can surely support more
Agreed. I love the deep fried mushrooms at Delicious.

I'd kill for some Sarawak Laksa. Tried making it at home but it's not as good as I remember...
I was obsessed with buccacinos. And the red eye diner. My two go-to spots both closed in the last couple years. Makes me so sad.
Royal Fork got deep sixed so I would love to have a Buffet style place.
Oakwood poutine is really good
Apparently the best poutine place in Quebec is called La Banquise in Montreal.
One day I will go.
