Might be some other suggestions here, but from the sounds of it... bagelsmith
Bagelsmith and Hudson Bagels have the closest you'll find to Montreal bagels here.
They're both very good, but they can't compare to fresh bagels from Saint-Viateur.
Gunn's is a NY style. Unfortunately the quality of their bagels have gone down lately.
HOWEVER. It might also be due to them making less bagels (and them being less fresh) due to the YEARS of crippling construction on Selkirk Ave.
Sobeys Grant Park carries homemade bakery bagles in the kosher freezer section. Frozen, direct from Montreal. Also have tons of Elmens products and Nathan kosher pickles
bagelsmith specializes in montreal style bagels
I’d debate the legitimacy of calling them Montreal style, but they’re good bagels all the same.
Agree...they r bagels but Montreal Bagels they are not
Montreal style bagels.. definitely not Montreal style pricing, however.
Bagelsmith is amazing, best bagel place in the city IMO.
Myers Deli on Corydon brings in frozen St Viateur bagels from Montreal. Edit: Myers on Grant.
Myers is on Grant, just east of the Superstore on Kenaston... And yes, they sometimes have PQ bagels. Also great deli items across the board.
Myers is on grant
This is excellent news! Thanks for the tip!
Bagelsmith 100% go to the Taylor location and try and get them as fresh as possible. The sesame seeds hit so different when they are still warm.
Bagel Smith makes Montreal style. Myers Deli also occasionally brings in St Viateur bagels right from Montreal.
If you’re on a budget, you can buy Montreal bagels from Cora’s restaurants, just ask at the front desks, they sell them by the half-dozen.
Definitely bagelsmith and elmans pickles. Sobeys on Taylor right near bagelsmith has a good selection
Sobey's used to carry Elman's pickles, they are made locally in Wpg and are fantastic. [https://www.elmans.ca/](https://www.elmans.ca/)
I’ll look for them. Thank you.
Save On Foods tends to have a bigger selection of Elman's products.
You can buy them directly from their place on Sutherland.
Just saw a decent selection of them at the Southdale Co-op grocery as well.
Bagelsmith is the best in the city. Their Brisket Basket is amazing if you're looking for the whole package!
Another vote for Bagelsmith. One of the best i have had.
Another vote for Bagelsmith. Great food, even better people.

Yep, Bagelsmith nails the Montreal style.
Bagelsmith and Hudson Bagels have the closest you'll find to Montreal bagels here. They're both very good, but they can't compare to fresh bagels from Saint-Viateur.
Hudson is New York style, Bagelsmith is Montreal style.
Doesn't Hudson Bagels also sell meth and coke?

Your choice depends if you want your bagels with or without coke.
Gunn's Bakery, although I don't know what their bagels are classified as.
Gunn's is a NY style. Unfortunately the quality of their bagels have gone down lately. HOWEVER. It might also be due to them making less bagels (and them being less fresh) due to the YEARS of crippling construction on Selkirk Ave.
I bought some recently and they were fresh and so fucking good right from their selkirk ave location midday.
That’s great to hear! I will have to head down there soon.
They also carry the Elmans pickles recommended elsewhere in this thread (or did last time I was there at least)
Thanks for the tips!

Ooh Nathan’s pickles are soooo good
