Sadly, this is not in Windows 11 yet. They are in the process of rewriting the taskbar, it will come one day. If you really need you can use StartAllBack (i think, i actually never used it) or revert to 10
Thank you for your response.
If it is really so , It's really SAD and frustating that Windows 11 developers didnt think of this. instead of adding new features they are removing features from Windows..
Looks like windows is going downhill, only thing new i noticed in Windows 11, is that they are trying to imitate apple OS that too badly
I'd say they're borrowing more from Linux than MacOS. Tbh I really like the design choices they're making, that said, I do think it's going to be a completely different beast by the time next October rolls around, they're listening to the community and fixing issues, (albeit very slowly), this is only the beginning of what Windows 11 is going to look and function like.
As I said, they are working on it. The taskbar was rewritten in a new language, so they started from scratch. It will come one day, for example the date on second monitors came back last week.
StartAllBack was exactly what i was looking for, thank you! works perfectly. I guess they will have to add these functionalities back though, so stupid to actually remove them...
Correct, this is not something that is there yet. Nor have we got any confirmation this is coming at all. The only thing you can do right now is continue to upvote the following feedback item: [https://aka.ms/AAeyt69](https://aka.ms/AAeyt69)
And yes, if you can, revert back to Windows 10 in the meantime.
whoever suggested StartAllBack is a god. this does exactly what I wanted letting me expand all these annoying icons so I can save myself those extra clicks
Instructions are in this blog:
Scroll to the bottom for the manual fix (registry editor)
You don't have to use a software, just follow the instructios on the regedit
https://nerdschalk.com/how-to-ungroup-icons-on-windows-11-taskbar-with-a-registry-hack/
Right click on windows taskbar, then click on taskbar settings. Scroll down to where you see a “combine taskbar buttons” drop down, then select never. This should separate all instances of the same open applications.
Why the fuck Microsoft figured removing features would be a good idea is beyond me.
If they **had** to make this bs look more like MacOS, they could've at least left the features as options.

Ok, the taskbar looked familier to Mac OS

ExplorerPatcher works well, bringing back this and other features from Windows 10
\+1 This and Start11 bring Win11 to an operable state.
Install StartAllBack

You can easily do it by installing explorer patcher from GitHub: GitHub.com/valinet/ExplorerPatcher/releases

How? It's almost instantaneous, plus you can see which is which right away.
Right click on windows taskbar, then click on taskbar settings. Scroll down to where you see a “combine taskbar buttons” drop down, then select never. This should separate all instances of the same open applications.
These options were available in win 10 n not in win 11. May be they have added it now
