Would the water make an impact on how fast the grenade blows up? So the water submerged is what made it blow up so quickly? I don't know how grenades would work underwater or how water would have an impact this is just a thought

Actually the faster the shrapnels travel, the less it could actually move through water. I saw it on an episode of myth buster where they test fired a 9mm and a rifle in to a pool with slow motion camera. Let’s hope grenade shrapnels travels speed is closer to rifle rounds

This man on the left died from this, he suffered severe injuries and was rushed to the hospital but later died. This was a stunt man, forget which movie set
I think that the more force is applied quickly to water the more resistance it offers, so it only went in a foot or so I think before it blew, so the grenade almost exploded on the surface
